Cats At Play And More

Cats At Play And More

Playful Kittens

Kittens love to play with their mother’s tail. Their mother will put up with it for a long time before she gives them a little tap on their nose. Kittens love to romp around and wrestle with each other. Kittens especially love to bounce around and get into things while you are sleeping or not watching them closely. Kittens will test their boundaries by jumping on your table, scratching your furniture, knocking things over, climbing your drapes, and more. Kittens will play with almost anything desirable to play within your home. Keep plastic bags, choking hazards, medicine, and poisons out of reach, as your kitten may play with them or swallow them and end up dying. Kittens love to play with small bright colored cat toys. Kittens are fun to have around; with your tender, loving care, you will have a loving feline companion.

Grown Cats At Play

Grown cats love to play with a live mouse by tossing it around before they kill it and eat it. My adult cats love to play with each other’s tails. My cats love it when one of my other cats licks and grooms his head for him. Adult cats love to get into mischief and run away quickly while your young cat is standing there, and you end up blaming the young cat, which is what they wanted all along. Cats are very jealous creatures and enjoy all of your attention, even if it is negative. My cats tend to act up when I am talking on the phone because they want my attention. I finally kept quiet as I stopped scolding them when they did that, and they soon stopped that annoying behavior. Grown cats love to get into hissing contests now and then, as that is one of their ways of declaring that they are the top cat in your house. Any cat that is part Siamese loves to pick a fight with any other cat in your house that they feel is a treat to their top cat ranking in your home.

Cats And Toys And Beds

Cali went through my house and picked out any toys my other cats had not played with, and she declared them as her toys. Cali is part Siamese and loves letting that shine through when she wants to. She has said herself the top cat in my house. My cat’s next door do not mind sharing their toys. My cats have picked out the beds they want to sleep in, and no other cat may enter but them or their select group. Some cats wish to have windowsill beds, heated small building beds, towels with cushions, or cat hammock scratching post beds with a ball attached. Circle game toys, catnip mice, bright colored balls,  small stuffed animals, and cat treat dispenser toys are their favorites. Cats are very playful, fun, and relaxing to watch. God bless our wonderful and loving feline friends.

Cats Learn Your Day To Day Routines Quickly

Cats know what time of the day you will be feeding them. My cat’s next door look out of the windows every day at about the same time to see if I am headed their way with fresh water. They seem to know I will feed them canned cat food every other day. They know when I am trying to catch them to bring them to the Vet or if I will pet them or give them a special treat. If I do not get out of bed by a specific morning, my cats begin to meow until I answer them and tell them I am OK. When my cats see me taking my purse, they know I will be gone for a while on an errand. They stand by their water dish until I give them fresh water. My cats have learned what time of day I pull down my shades for the night, so they sit by the picture window to take a last time to look at the birds eating for the day. When they see me brushing my teeth at night, they get into their cat beds at about the same time I get to bed for the evening.

Luggage

When my cats see luggage setting out, they get anxious because they know I will be gone on a long trip. My cats watch me pack my bags. One time one of my cats jumped in my luggage, and all I could see was their tail sticking out. My cat wanted to go where I went as he did not want to be left alone with his roommates. Once my luggage sits by the door, they know I will be gone in a day or two.

Trying To Escape My Vet Visit

Cats will try to do anything to escape that dreaded visit to the Vet. My cat’s next door know that when they see a cage or fishnet, they go to the Vet for their yearly shots and checkups. They run and hide in the different cat beds and small buildings. They hope to wear me out entirely, so I forget about their Vet visit. Nicole will try to bite you, and she has succeeded twice. Nicole will do almost anything, hoping she won’t go to the Vet. Nicole will never get one over on me, as she will go to the Vet no matter what kind of performance she puts on. They have practically succeeded in wearing me out as I have had to sit down and rest before driving to my Vet with my reluctant patients meowing and complaining. On the way home from the Vet, they are quiet as little church mice.

Cats Try To Warn You Of Danger

Sebastian growled at a man walking on the road late at night. He saw him through the picture window; I had not pulled down the shades yet. Garfunkel growled at about 10:30 PM the night of a tornado. The tornado touched down in town at 10:40 PM.

Helpful Cats

Ginger rented a house for me. She turned on my answering machine for me, and that party left a message, and they rented my house. She did a good job, as they were excellent tenants. Cats have alerted their owners of dangers in their homes, such as fires, gas leaks, and more. My cat cornered a bat for me once, and I got it outdoors. Cats kill and keep the rodent population down. Cats know when you are not feeling good and sit on your lap and comfort you with their soft meows and purring. Cats are lovely, loving, and loyal companions. I would not want to be in a world without cats.

I Adopted Two Cats Tammy And Tigress

I Adopted Two New Cats Tammy And Tigress

Tammy

It is a beautiful bi-colored black and white cat. Her Mother was one of my cats years ago, and her Mother lived to be 23 years old. I hope Tammy has that gene for longevity in her DNA makeup. Tammy lived outdoors on a farm, and she was an excellent huntress. I would see Tammy walking around on the farm where she used to live, her owner could no longer care for her, so I adopted her. I took her to my Vet, and he gave her all of her shots, wormed her, checked her feline leukemia, spayed her, got rid of her ear mites, and had her front feet declawed. She has tamed considerably in ten days; she will let me pat and touch her without making a single sound. She and her daughter Tigress sleep next to each other. They have a blanket and towels to curl up in. I have been feeding them canned cat food daily, and they seem very contented. Tammy used my litter box for her in the room with no problems.

Tigress

Tigress is one year old, and she did not want to be touched or handled at all when I first got her home. She would try to claw you, and she would hiss at you. After she started getting canned food to eat every day, she became a very affectionate young female cat. She always sleeps next to her mom for comfort in her new surroundings. She had the same treatments at my Vet as her Mother did. She let me pat her on the head today, and she was not bothered by my touching her on the head whatsoever. Tigress is a light gray colored tuxedo cat with a little pink nose; she is a very attractive-looking young female cat. Tigress knew what the litter box was for immediately.

Tammy And Tigress Are In a Small Room For The Introduction Period

Both newcomers are in a small room where my other cats can smell them under the door. You never want to just let your new cat family members into your group of older cat family members. If cats are not introduced slowly, fights will break out, and it will not have a good outcome for one or more of your cats. Cats are territorial creatures, and every cat must figure out their place in the household so no one steps on someone else’s boundaries. Another cat might claim a particular chair in your house, and if the newcomers sit in that chair, they will have a rude awakening. Some cats have a unique cat hammock that is theirs or a specific toy and is unwilling to share it with anyone. Cats have sure heated cat beds they will share with a particular group of cats, and no one else may enter through that door. It takes a while for the cats to become one happy cat family. Spend much time patting your older cat family, so they feel left out. Spend a lot of time loving your new cat family where your older cats cannot see you doing so, Be patient with your cats; they will be one big happy cat family with the time and loving care. I have a total of 14 cats altogether. I have 3 in my house and eleven in another place. Adopt a cat, save a life today, and have a fabulous feline friend for many years.

Cats With Nine Lives And More

Cats With Nine Lives And More

My Cousins Cat

His cat is now 23 Years Old and still going strong. I gave her to him as a kitten. Her Mother, Trisha, lived to b 18 years old on my farm. They are part Siamese, Himalayan, and domestic shorthair. Trisha was a brilliant cat. She would look both ways six times before crossing a road. My cousin lives on a well-traveled highway, and luckily, she taught all of her kittens how to cross a busy highway. My cousin’s cat looks good, except she lost the tips of her ears last year. She lives in a heated house inside a dog house and has a heated water bowl. She also has her daughter, granddaughter, grandson, and great-grandson, which she curls up in the wild. She goes out hunting daily and lets her grandchildren play with her tail. My cousins’ old cat died recently, and she is greatly missed.

Trisha

Trisha would hold her own with my big Samoyed dog. She was able to run down rabbits and catch them until she was about 16.5 years old. She was a great huntress, and so were her kittens. She was an excellent Mother cat and never lost a single kitten. When she was 15, she had one kitten in December, and she kept him warm, and he survived. I think she had about 90 kittens in her lifetime. She lived to be 18 years old. I found her dead outside one summer morning. Trisha was a tortoise shell-colored cat. She was greatly missed.

Sugar

Sugar was a purebred Chocolate point Siamese house cat. I adopted her when she was eight years old. She was moody, but I loved her very much. She would sleep in my bed at night and purr away. She loved to sleep in a winter vest I had with just her head sticking out in the winter months. Sugar loved to go outdoors and walk around. She loved birds. We had a pet parakeet, and she would listen to him sing for hours in his cage. When my Mother died, she sat on the tub’s edge and cried for days. Sugar got breast cancer, and I had to have her put to sleep at age 16. She was my first house cat, and I missed her terribly.

Ginger

Ginger was a Lynx point Siamese cat. She was beautiful, and she had a delightful disposition. Ginger would sleep on my bed at night. She loved Fancy Feast canned food and would come running when I said Fancy Feast. Ginger liked playing with toy mice. Ginger also loved to go outdoors for a while. Ginger was my alarm clock. She would wake me up at six on the morning dot, which was very handy. I adopted Ginger from an animal shelter as a kitten. Ginger was a very kind and well-mannered cat. A bat got in my house when they were installing a new roof. It landed in my hair, and I freaked out. It got out of my hair on its own, and Ginger went into action and got the bat pinned down for me so I could get it outdoors. Ginger was 16 when she did that, exhausted and out of breath after that ordeal. Ginger got very thin, so I had her put to sleep when she was 18 years old. I missed Ginger terribly.

Red

Red was a red tabby, and he was brilliant. My Vet gave Red to me, and he found him on a golf course as a kitten in December. If you said you wanted to go outdoors, Red would come running. He was an excellent lap cat and would sleep in my bed with Ginger. Red mastered a circle game toy, and when company came, he would ensure everyone was watching him. He was ambidextrous when he batted the ball around with his paws. Red had a great temperament, and he was an easygoing cat. Red’s back gave out, and he lost control of his bladder function. I had to have him put to sleep at age 17. He was greatly missed. I have been blessed to have many wonderful and loving cats. Each cat left a special place in my heart, and I loved them all. Thank you for blessing me with excellent and caring cats throughout the years.

In Memory Of My Cat Kohl

In Memory Of My Cat Kohl

Kohls Kitten Years

Kohl started with respiratory problems as a kitten. His Mother was a first-time Mother cat, and she did not know how to care for Kohl. She left him on a heated mat in the cat building. Kohl became one of my housecats on Christmas night in 2008. I put him in a massive cage with a litter box, food, and water. He was old enough to survive with my help. He had significant respiratory problems. One of my Vets gave me antibiotics for Kohl. Kohl also had to have Pediasure for one month, which he drank from a kitten bottle. He also had exceptional cat food with added vitamins and minerals that he needed to survive. I let him out of the cage in one month, and my other cats got along fine.

Kohls Young Cat Years

He loved playing with plastic frogs. He also liked bright-colored balls and yellow mice. Kohl wanted to wrestle with my cat Sebastian and Sebastian would let him know he was still the top cat. Kohl spent many hours watching birds from my picture window. Garfunkel and Kohl would wrestle, also. He loved exercising by running up and down my steps. He loved sleeping in any warm heated area and sunbathing by the picture window. Kohl liked to help me with my bookwork as he would throw it on the floor when I was gone. He let me know what he thought of the bookwork.

Kohl Had Several Mishaps In His Life

He did not want to land on my new housecat Garfunkel. As he was jumping down, Garfunkel was right in the area where he would land. Kohl flipped his body to avoid landing on Garfunkel and broke his back leg at 8 PM. I rushed him to my Vet, and he sat his leg the best he could. Kohl had a pink cast on, and he hated that cast. He did not want to walk again. I kept working with him, and finally, he started to walk again. He would rest with the broken leg sticking up from his cat bed. He would run down the steps, and you could hear the cast bumping on every step. He had a sizeable noncancerous tumor above his eye that was removed. Cancer would have grown over his watch if it had not been released. Kohl made a full recovery from his ordeals.

Kohls Wonderful Personality

He was a very gentle and loving cat. He had a very mild temperament, and he never did anything wrong except play with the bookwork when he was young. My carpenter told me he would have a cat if it were as laid back as Kohl always was.

Kohls Older Years

He would sleep more, and he was not as active anymore. Kohl would sit in my lap for a little while and want down. He has been on antibiotics for his respiratory problems for the last two years. I took Kohl to one of my Vets for surgery to remove a tumor from his nostril, causing his eye to bulge. I had just noticed the look four days ago. She said she could hardly remove any of the tumors. She told me the cancer was vast and cancerous and would be painful for him to live on. I told her to put him to sleep. I put several of Kohls’s’s favorite toy frogs in his burial box. Kohl was the last cat that I had that was related to my original cats on the farm. He was part Himalayan, Siamese, and domestic shorthair. Kohl was put to sleep on Feb. 15, 2022; he was 13 and .4. God bless my sweet Kohl in cat heaven. Kohl will be greatly missed as he had the personality of Saint. Thank you, God, for letting me have Kohl in my life.

Cats That Are Bullies

Cats That Are Bullies

My New Cat is bullying my cat.

My cat Cali was the head cat of my other house for years. My new cat Winchester wanted to be the head cat. He would slap at Cali with his paws and upset her terribly. He then trained Mr. Gray to do the same thing he did. Cali got, so she was losing weight and did not want to eat much anymore. I tried various things to no avail to get Winchester to act like a gentleman. I locked Mr. Gray in the bathroom when he slapped Cali. Winchester knows how to open doors and had his friend Mr. Gray sprung from the toilet in about 20 minutes. Cali would eat squeeze-able tuna cat treats and not much of anything else. I took her into my house with my three gentle cats, and she has improved dramatically. She now weighs 10 lbs., She loves being in my home and sitting on my lap. She likes being a hairdresser as she rubs my head with her feet and pulls her feet through my hair like a comb. I soon put an end to that as a little of that goes a long way. She is once again a happy and healthy cat.

Separating Your Cat Bully From Your Other Cats

Suppose you can put your cat bully in another room, let him out later, and see how they interact. You can try to reintroduce your cats. Lock up the cat that is the bully in a small room in your house and let him out in about a week and see how he behaves then. You may have to keep your cats separated if all else fails. The cat that is being bullied will get stressed out, and she will stop eating, using the litter box, and more, perhaps. If we were put in a house full of strangers, all of a sudden, we would also be a bit stressed out,

Create A Calm Area Or A Pleasant Area For Your Cat To Be Alone

Cats like to lay away from the other cats in your home when they can—cats like areas that are not noisy and do not like loud noises. Place different cat beds around your house, and your cat will find them and take many relaxing cat naps in them. Cats want to have cat toys to play with as this will take their mind off of other problems they may have. We want to read a good book, watch TV, or eat when stressed out. Talk to your cats, pat them on the head often, and keep them entertained with interactive cat toys. Ensure you pay more attention to your old cat than your new cat. You do not want your senior cat to get jealous, which will cause many problems. Pat, you’re a new cat when your old cat is not watching. Be patient with your cat bully, as it will take time for him to realize that you also love him if he is jealous. I hope you and your cats will live together in perfect harmony for many years.

Active Cats

Active Cats

The Hunters

I have had many excellent hunters over the years. I had one cat that kept my ditches free of all types of rodents. Once in a while, she would bring up a half-eaten gopher to show me that she was hard at work. I once had a cat that would place dead garter snakes by my back door. She was a dark-colored calico cat named Blacknose. We had Blackie, and she caught many mice over the years. Onyx was my outdoor Tom cat that hunted until his last day. I think he lived to be 19 years old. He was the father of Kohl and Conrad, my indoor house cats. Conrad knows how to drown mice in a water dish. I had a light-colored calico cat sitting atop the fence posts and pouncing down on her prey. Trisha could run down a rabbit until she was 16 years old. She would share the rabbit with her kittens. Flossie was my very first cat. She was light gray and white. Flossie hunted every morning, afternoon, and evening, and she was very successful.

The Staircase Cats

Conrad runs up and down my steps many times during the day. Cali loved exploring my house and values that she has steps to run up and down now. The house next door is the ranch house where she had been living. My Siamese cats Sugar and Ginger loved running up and down the steps. Most of the cats I have now are part Siamese, Himalayan, Maine Coon, and domestic short-hair. Sebastian loved my stairs as he would follow me everywhere. Stairs are a good way for your cat to be active and lose weight.

The Cat Gamers

Cats love to play with circle game toys that I have purchased from Chewy.com. Cats love to play with catnip mice and any cat toy filled with catnip. My cats like to get cat treats out of cat treat balls which keeps them very active, and they are rewarded with a lovely cat treat at the end. I have a battery-activated cat toy that throws a string out, and my cats go crazy trying to catch the elusive line. My cats like to play with the ball on the rope attached to my cat hammocks.

Healthy And Happy Cats Are More Active

If your cat is constantly sleeping and is not interested in anything, he is most likely sick, and you should take him to your Vet for a checkup. Cats tend to sleep often but should be active and alert between naps. Feeding the right foods to your cat will help him be more active. Do not feed your cat bones, chocolate, or alcoholic drinks; any of these could kill your cat quickly. Give your cats plenty of fresh water every day. Water helps get rid of toxins in the body that would cause your cat not to be active. Give your cat top-quality cat foods, fresh water, and regular Vet care so they will have many active, healthy, and happy years to come.

Cali Is Now Living In My House With Three Other Cats

Cali Is Now Living In My House With Three Other Cats

Cali Loves Living In My House

Cali already knew Garfunkel and Conrad from years ago. They accepted her right away. Kohl is an easygoing cat who does not care if a new cat is in the house. Cali did not want to let my cats go to the basement immediately. I had to tell her off that ASAP since the litter boxes are in my basement. Cali seems very happy now. Cali seemed depressed, living in the house next door suddenly. Cali is part Siamese, who used to rule the house next door. Winchester took control of the house and was not afraid to show Cali that he was the boss of the house now. Mr. Gray also learned  Winchester’s ways, which were too much for Cali to bear after being in control of the house for many years. I finally devised the perfect solution to make everyone happy and content. Cali found an orange ball in the basement that she fell in love with. Cali also fell asleep on top of the cat toy box in the dining room. She was rubbing her head back and forth over all of the cat toys. The cat toys meet with her approval.

Cali Getting Used To My House

The first two days, she stayed in my basement and slept on a chair with a wool Meofia cat bed lying on the chair. On the third day, she started exploring upstairs. She looked at all the light fixtures and watched TV like she was in awe of the TV. Cali watched the Grandfather clock’s pendulum sway back and forth until she almost hypnotized herself. She kept watching the bird fly out of the cuckoo clock. Today she discovered the stairsteps going upstairs, and she has developed an exercise routine now. She sat in my lap, licked my hand, and purred away to beat the band. She loves to sleep on a chair in the kitchen and sit on top of a desk where she can watch all of the action.

Cali  Is A Very Happy  Cat Now

She touched noses with Garfunkel this morning. Last night she and Conrad curled up together in a giant cat bed upstairs. She ate some tuna canned water with my other cats on Christmas day. Last night she ate some chicken left over from Christmas dinner. She seems happy that my house has steps to run up and down. This morning she explored the bathroom and realized the bathtub had water in it, and she ran away in a hurry. I am sure it was the first time she had seen a bathtub with water in it. Her original home had a shower in it. A young couple had her, and they were having a baby and could not afford to keep her with their other two cats. I adopted her at 12 months old, give or take. Cali is 10.5 years old now. I hope she has many more happy and healthy years ahead of her.

I have 11 Cats That Live In A House All Of Their Own

I Have 11 Cats That Live In A House Of Their Own

My Cats Get Along With Each Other Beautifully

If you introduce cats correctly to each other, they should become friends rather quickly. I always put the newcomer in the bathroom with his food dish, water, and litter box. My other cats and he can smell each other from under the door. They can growl at each other with the safety of the door separating them. Remember not to pay too much attention to the new cat when your others cats are watching, as they are just like jealous children. Place your new cat in a room with your other cats and observe how they get along. The head of the household male cat will let the new cat know he is in charge. He may growl at him and try to get in a fight with him. Let them work it out if there is just a little spat. If you see that they will have a no-hold-barred fighting, separate your new cat again before you place them all together. They should all live in perfect harmony within a week.

Fall Cleaning Next Door

I wash all of the cat’s towels that they have for bedding. I scrub the floors with Lysol disinfectant cleaner, and I do a thorough cleaning of the house. I clean up all of the food dishes and the water bowl. I wash and clean out the litter robots and the other cat litter boxes. I make sure my heated cat beds, water dish, and electric heater are working. Now is an excellent time to throw out old cat toys or replace beds that have worn out. Order new heated beds now before the prices go up. I stock up on kitty litter and ensure I have plenty of cat food and treats. Wash your cat toys and beds that are washable. Once your heated cat beds are seven years old, replace them, as the heated pad probably does not release as much heat as it used to.

Cat Trees And Cat Hammocks

My cats love to sit high in the top tier of their cat trees and look out the windows at birds and other animals that may pass by. The cats love to curl up and fall asleep in their cat hammocks with scratching posts. I like sturdy well, constructed cat trees that have carpet on them, as they are also easier to clean with carpet on them.

Fall Health Care

I take my cats to the vet for their shots early in the spring. Suppose your cat has developed a cough or seems to have a cold. Take him to the vet ASAP before it becomes life-threatening. A minor illness can become a significant disease as the weather gets colder and colder. Ensure all your cats are warm and cozy as the colder weather sets in. We all want a happy and healthy cat for our feline friends.

My Cat Winchester

My Cat Winchester

Winchester Was Given To Me

I loved how Winchester looked and acted the first moment I saw him. He let me catch him immediately, and I put him in a cage. I put him in the bathroom next door, and my other cats could smell him and get to know him through the safety of the closed door. Winchester got all of his shots at my Vet right away. He became annoyed with my Vet after he was poked and prodded, and he tried to bite him. When I released him from the cage, he was annoyed with me, and he scratched me through my pants, luckily, so I did not feel it or bleed. He forgave me quickly, and he acted gentle and docile again.

Winchester Gets Neutered And De – Clawed

I had my Vets assistant bring him into the office that day. I knew he would never forgive me if I took him to the Vets office that day. He recovered in the bathroom next door for about a week before his front feet healed. He would stick out his front feet every morning to show me what the Vet had done to him. One day he wrapped his front feet around my leg and tried to claw and bite me. He had figured out who took him to the Vet that day.

Winchester, The Escape Artist

Three days after he was de-clawed, he escaped the bathroom. He had figured out how to turn the door knob so he could get out. I put him back in the bathroom again, and he escaped like the Great Houdini. He is a brilliant cat.

Winchester Standing His Ground With My Cat Mr. Gray

Mr. Gray tried to intimate Winchester and scare him into submission. Winchester got as close as possible to the ground with his ears flattened and looked like a wild lion on the prowl. He swayed his body back and forth, and Mr. Gray gave up quickly. Winchester was not going to let my big boy Mr. Gray scare him. Winchester is a long, sleek-looking cat who can stand his ground with the best of them.

Winchester Loves Cat Trees

Winchester loves sleeping in the cat tree beds or looking out at the birds. My cat trees are by windows, so my cats can observe any wildlife passing by. The cat trees have balls that dangle from them to entertain my cats. My cats take turns in using the cat trees by the windows. Winchester has a favorite one that he calls his own. He likes chicken, tuna, cat treats, and dry cat food.

Winchester And Faith

Winchester liked Faith right away. Faith is closer to Winchester’s age. Winchester and Faith would play footsies under the bathroom door. They seem to have a great relationship and keep each other company. Faith will lick Winchester on the head, and he will return the favor. Winchester is a gorgeous and brilliant, and loving cat. I am truly blessed to have Winchester as one of my cats.
