In Memory Of My Cat Lizzie

How I Aguired My Cat, Lizzie

Lizzie was given to me by a friend. Her friend’s Mother had died, and she had four cats that I adopted. I loved all of them. Lizzie lived outside in a building that had a heated cat bed. Lizzie was a gray and white cat. Lizzie was always quite shy. She had the most beautiful sparkling green colored eyes. Lizzie would sleep in an old chicken nest I had in the building with straw in the summer.

Lizzie And Her Kittens

I had Lizzie for about one year when she became pregnant. A cat that I named Onyx was the Father of Lizzie’s kittens. Onyx was a large black cat that was born on my farm.

The Day Lizzie’s Kittens Were Born

Lizzie gave birth to four kittens. One of the gray kittens died shortly after birth. I named her surviving kittens Peter, Conrad, and Nicole. Conrad is one of my black-colored house cats. He is sleek and lean and looks like an early Egyptian cat. Nicole looks just like Conrad, except she is a Russian blue-colored cat. Peter is a beautiful bi-colored lon,g haired black and white cat. All of Lizzie’s kittens turned out to be very shy like her. Conrad occasionally lies on my lap and licks my hands or toes.

Lizzie The Huntress

Lizzie was an excellent huntress. She controlled the mouse population and thinned out some pigeons living in one of my old grain bins. I always looked for her in the morning when I fed my cats. I put her in the house next door with her offspring.

Lizzie’s Battle With Breast Cancer

Lizzie got breast cancer about six months ago, and I had the lump removed on Nov. 27th, 2023 and the mass came back in April, along with other masses. She was in pain if you touched one of the masses, so I made an appointment with my vet to have her put to sleep on Monday morning, May 6th, 2024.

Lizzie And her Family

She and her family had the comforts of a lovely, warm home with heated cat beds, cat towers, and much more. As Lizzie got older, she liked it if I held and petted her. I will never forget the fine cat that she was. She was an outstanding, very caring, and loving mother cat. Lizzie lives on through  Conrad, Peter, and Nicole. Peter and Addi had five kittens. Two of them were adopted by a wonderful family, and they named them Leo and Cleo. I have Hilford, Mr. Gray, and Sherlock. I will miss her deeply, as she was the cat matriarch with a heart of gold. Lizzie did precisely what a cat should do in her lifetime. Lizzie hunted efficiently. She was a wonderful and loving Mother and grandmother to her cat family. Lizzie was a good friend of mine, as her purrs were soothing and comforting. She was a friend and confidant and would listen to me with her beautiful, loving eyes focused on me. God will lift her on angel wings, and she will sit next to him in heaven, and he will be pleased with all she accomplished in her lifetime.
