God And Holidays

Take Time To Thank God During Holidays

Sometimes, one gets wrapped up in the holiday and forgets to thank God for all that he has given us and provided for us. Don’t just sit at the table and eat; give a blessing before you eat your holiday meal, and thank God for providing the food you are eating and how blessed you are to have loved ones, family, and friends sharing a meal with you. Holidays are a time to celebrate all that has been given to you, such as a good husband or wife and children, and without God in your life, none of this would be possible because with God, you are nothing at all. God makes holidays special if we celebrate the blessings of having God in our lives every day and on special holidays and special events.

We Must Not Leave God Out Of Holidays

At Christmas time, we should always say Merry Christmas and not Xmas because Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ, our Lord and Saviour. When we do not include Christ at Christmas, we can not celebrate Christmas, as Christ is the only reason for the Christmas season. Christmas is not about seeing how many gifts you receive or how many fancy foods you will be eating at the dinner table. The greatest gift you will ever receive in your entire lifetime is from Christ, as he died on the cross so that you may be forgiven and have eternal life in heaven with our Lord and saviour. Thanksgiving is about celebrating a bountiful harvest that would not have been possible without God giving the crops moisture in the form of rain and the proper growing temperatures, and for creating the seeds that our crops grow from..

God Makes Everything Much Better

Christ suffered unthinkable pain when he died on the cross. He knows the pain we have when we are sick or dying, and he does the best that he can to eliminate our pain and suffering. If you are sad on holidays, God knows your pain, and he will try to comfort you, or someone will come into your life unexpectedly to comfort you. God has a way of bringing the right person into your life at the right time. It is natural to mourn the death of a loved one on special holidays such as Christmas, birthdays, and anniversaries. Go ahead and cry, and do not try to suppress it. If you hold grief in, it makes the pain worse once you do cry. We all have a mission in life. If you have lost track of your mission, pray to God to help you get back on the right track again. Preach to the masses when given the opportunity. Help the oppressed and the downtrodden, be kind, caring, and compassionate at all times. Help God by being a good steward, listening to people’s concerns, and uplifting them. Help fill a void in someone’s life by being someone they can depend on, no matter what storm comes their way. God bless you today and at the holidays with love and joy in your heart and in your soul.

Signs That Let You Know Your Cat Is Not Feeling Well

Signs That Let You Know Your Cat Is Not Feeling Well

If Your Cat Starts Sleeping More Than Usual

More sleep can be a warning of a disease or sickness in your cat. If your cat would rather sleep than be held, that would be a sign that your cat is sick. Your cat’s sleep pattern may change abruptly, as they may start meowing all night long. Your cat may begin waking you up in the middle of the night if they are not feeling well. Cats do sleep many hours a day, but if they sleep and show no interest in what they used to, there is a health problem that needs immediate attention.

Their tail Position May Change.

A healthy cat generally has its tail pointing straight up. Sick cats stop raising their tails in the air and hang them down. They may stop swinging their tail from time to time. You can tell a lot about a cat by how its tail is hanging.

Eye Drainage

I have noticed that some cats seem to have more eye discharge when they are not feeling well. A cat with distemper will most likely have its eye glued shut due to drainage. Healthy cats have clean eyes ready to hunt for potential prey.

Sneezing

Cats indicate allergies or dryness in your home during the winter months by sneezing. If the sneezing gets worse, take your cat to your vet, as they may have a common respiratory virus. We can give out carts COVID by letting them sleep in bed with us if we have COVID. Certain flus can cross over from humans to cats. If your cat has a cold, a vaporizer can help relieve symptoms. You can wash their runny eyes with water and a soft towel.

Your Cat Hides All The Time

If your cat hides all of the time and does not come out to eat, they are genuinely ill. Cats like to go to an area where they will be alone when they pass, if possible. Your cat does not come anymore when you call him because he is ill.

Loss Of Interest In Things

Your cat stops playing with his favorite toys or games, and he no longer interacts with your other cats or visitors as he used to. If your cat used to sit on the windowsill every day and he stops doing that, that is one red flag that he is unwell. Your cat stops wanting to sleep in bed with you at night because he is not feeling well.

Sleeping In A Cold Bathtub

If your cat has a fever, he may start sleeping in your bathtub because it is generally cold and he wants to feel cooler. Cata will seek out cold or warm spots depending on how they feel at that moment.

Your Cat Has A Personality Change

A cat that is used to being quite docile may become aggressive, biting or attacking you and hissing at you or your other cats in your household. Cats will do their best to let you know how they are feeling, but you must watch for their subtle signs.

Do What You Love In Life

Do What You Love In Life

Life Is Short

If you love someone, do not wait too long to tell them so. If you do not tell them you love them, they might move on in life, and you may have lost what could have been a beautiful relationship. Time waits for no man, and you will be older sooner than you ever imagined, and many opportunities will have passed you by because you did not pursue them. If you want to spend a day reading a book, do so and don’t feel guilty about it. Eat at an expensive restaurant at least once and split your meal in half with your spouse or friend, and you will save money that way. I ate at a five-star restaurant once, and I had a five-course meal, and a waiter came around constantly with water, more bread, and a decadent dessert. It was a wonderful experience for my friend and me.

I Love Writing

I started writing poetry when I was very young, and my poetry book was copyrighted and published. I then transitioned to blogging and wrote about how to keep a happy, healthy cat on my website. I also write Inspirations With Laura, a devotional and motivational blog on my website. I passed an online lay minister class, and my Inspirationswithlaura post was an excellent way to let people learn more about God and how he can help you. God is your compass and lighthouse, as he always gets you back from the storms of life. We are God’s shepherds on earth, helping spread the word of God, doing good works for others, and lending a helping hand to people. Writing is a release, and you can put your words and thoughts in a blog post that might help or inspire others in their life.

I Love Cats

I have loved cats and have watched and observed them since age two. Cats are primarily amiable and loving creatures that God has put on earth to keep us company and kill rodents that would eat grain on a farm. Cats will kill or eat a mouse that may get into your home. Cats love to curl up on your lap, purr away, or cuddle up next to you in bed. Kittens are adorable and will entertain you by chasing their mother’s tail and engaging in mock little battles between siblings. I have ten cats in one house and 3 in my home. They have heated beds, automatic litter boxes, and a water fountain. All my cats go to the Vet regularly, and in between, if I notice something unusual. My hobby is keeping my cats healthy and happy.

Traveling

Traveling was a hobby of mine that I dearly loved. I loved the sights and sounds of different countries. I loved walking in the same area where my ancestors came from, as the buildings were still there from the 1600s. I love the architecture and food in Europe, and getting to know some of the locals. I have traveled in the USA and enjoyed the beautiful buildings, flowers, and the people I met. I love shopping while traveling if time permits. I still love to go to small-town coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, and old hardware stores.

Pace Yourself

Pace Yourself

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

Remember, Rome was not built in a day. We try to get too much accomplished in one day. Set a realistic goal for what you can get done in one day. Never beat yourself up if you did not finish everything you set out to do today. If you feel tired and worn out, rest and do not continue until you recover. I have a list of things I want to accomplish each day. Most of the time, I get everything off the list, but if I don’t, I work on it the next day, and sometimes I can get more done than I planned. Work at a pace that works for your health and condition.

Even A Horse Has To Pace Itself

If you are in a race and running way ahead of the pack, you will soon tire and have no steam left to run your competitors down. A person who wins the race is very close to his fellow runners and gives it all he has to fly past them toward the last lap of the race to the finish line.

Cramming For A Test

I never crammed for a test at the last minute. I always studied at a regular pace, took notes, and highlighted pages in my books. I would review my notes and remember the key points from my teacher’s class discussion. I did well on all my tests and was well-rested when I took my test. By cramming for a test the night before, you will be exhausted the day of your test, and it will show up on your test results.

Carpenters

A good carpenter will not try to set a time record and will concentrate on the job. A good carpenter will take several measurements before he starts cutting the wood, for once the wood is cut too short, it is useless, perhaps. A good carpenter takes pride in his work and pays attention to every detail. I saw some carpentry jobs that looked awful over the years. One party had a door that did not open or close properly, and one party had a carpenter who did not know how to space ceiling tiles. I had a carpenter only one time who cut around light fixtures and plumbing, and everything had to be redone completely.

The Turtle Can Beat The Hare

If you buy something too quickly, you can have buyer’s remorse. Just because a car is beautiful does not mean it will take you to the finish line. Remember the old saying, “Look Before You Leap.” Before you sign a contract, read all of the fine print. Never let someone lead you astray with false promises or their way of thinking when you know in your heart and soul that it is wrong. Don’t be a hare and jump into something until you have crossed all your I’s and T’s. The turtle keeps moving slowly but reaches his destination safely.

Worry Robs You of Valuable Days

Worry Robs You Of Valuable Days

All Of Us Tend To Worry About Things

We cannot change the outcome of most events, no matter how long we worry or ponder them. I remember a TV program where a man wanted to go back in time and save his wife, who had died in a car accident. He went back in time and saved her, but he had messed with the timeline, and another chain of events made things much worse for him and his wife. She died a horrible death, and one of their children had become a serial killer. We should never mess with God’s plans, no matter how badly we would like to at times. Worry takes days off your life, and it could have been a day you could have enjoyed with a friend, your husband, or your wife.

God Tells Us Not To Worry

God is protecting us 24/7, but we still worry about our children, our health, our jobs, our finances, storms, and more daily. You can literally worry yourself sick if you stick to the same thing over and over and do not move forward in life. Students worry about test scores. I must say, if I worried about getting a good grade, I got a good grade, and if I did not worry a little bit about my grade, I did not get as high a grade. A little worry about something might help you, but if you let worry take over, it will, and it will consume you.

Focus On The Positive Things Going On In Your Life

One plus is that you got up this morning to see another day that the Lord hath made. Start your day with some exercise, read a daily devotion, and see how it fits into your life today. Getting out in nature helps clear your mind from worry, and always remember to take it to the Lord in prayer, as he will never let you down. Be thankful you have food in your house and a roof over your head, as many people worldwide do not. Hopefully, you are happily married or have wonderful and loving children by your side, friends, and loving pets.

Pets Help People With Anxiety Or Stress

It has been proven that people who have pets tend to live longer, as pets help them get through stressful times. Pets tend to lower blood pressure and calm you. Cats by their purrs and cuddling up next to you. Pets know when you are worried and upset, and they will do everything in their power to calm you and ease your worries.

Stop Worrying And Start Living Joyfully With God

God does not want us to worry; we should spend all our days doing something constructive that helps others. If you know someone who is worrying, invite them out for a drive, to eat out, or to go to their house, and try to ease their worries and reassure them that things generally work out in the end. God is protecting you and loving you 24.7.

Life With cats In Your Home

Life With Cats In Your Home

I Had My First House Cat When I Was Sixteen

My first housecat was an 8-year-old purebred Siamese cat that we adopted. Her name was Sugar, but she did not live up to it. She would occasionally get into trouble. Once she chewed the entire corner off of our Road Atlas, and she chewed up my Mothers genealogy papers. I loved Sugar dearly, even with the characteristics that all Simese cats seem to have. She was a Seal Point Siamese cat. She loved to lie on my lap, but at a certain point, she would give me an evil look. I had to set her on the floor as she would stare at my face as if she were in attack mode. She dearly loved our pet parakeet, Perry. She would lie down next to where he was, and his singing would lull her to sleep. She loved to play with any sponge that she could find. She ran into the field one day, and luckily, my Mother spotted her in an area where no crops were growing. I put her back in our house, and luckily, she never did that again. She lived to be 16 before breast cancer set in, and I had to have her put to sleep.

Ginger Was A Chocolate Point Siamese Cat

She was a very gentle and loving cat, always by my side. She got along fine with cats except female cats. She lived to be eighteen before I had to put her to sleep. She kept me safe from a bat that had gotten into our home while our house was undergoing new shingles installation. She chased it down until I could remove it.

Philmoor

Philmoor was a cream colored tuxedo cat. He was exceptionally friendly, and he would sleep next to me every night. He would purr away contentedly, and he got along fine with my older cats. I found him in a Perkins parking lot. He got liver cancer, and I had to put him to sleep at the age of ten.

I Adopted A Ginger Cat Named Red

Our veterinarian gave Red to me when Sugar died. He had found Red wandering around on a golf course in the winter. Red was a brilliant cat, and he quickly learned to play a cat ball game. He was energetic and wanted to make sure you watched him, knowing he was a master at that game.

Sebastian, Kohl, And Conrad Where Born On My Farm

They were black cats, as I have always loved them because they seem to have a pleasant disposition. Sebastian was an outdoor cat to begin with, but one cold day, he sat by the door and looked at me with his adoring eyes, as if to say, “I will make an excellent housecat for you.” I gave him a warm bath that night and dried him off while he settled in. That evening, he rounded up every toy mouse in the house and had them all lined up in a row.

Kohl

Kohl was a sickly kitten, so I let him in the house. He had the most pleasant disposition of any cat I have ever had. Kohl was a wonderful lap cat, and he got along well with all of my other cats. he was a smart cat and figured out games quickly. Kohl got cancer, and I had him put to sleep.

Conrad Was Born In An Outdoor Cat Building

He became my housecat when he was almost one year old. he would drown any mouse that might happen to get in the water bowl. I threw out the mouse, and he had a fresh, clean water bowl to drink from. He could figure out any treat ball or toy in a matter of seconds.

I Have Cali, Garfunkel, And Milton Now

Garfunkel is a sweet and loving gentleman cat, and Cali is very affectionate and sweet. Milton treats my elder cats with respect and care. Milton deowns mice in the water bowl just like Conrad used to. Cali is still very active and enjoys playing with her cat toys. Gearfunkel is always next to me. I love all of my cats dearly. Cats bring joy to our lives, and it has been proven that people with cats live longer. Cats help keep blood pressure down and provide many other health benefits. God bless all of our feline family with good health for many years to come.

Dedication

Dedication

What Are You Dedicated To Accomplish?

What kind of task or purpose are you dedicated to? I hope you are committed to putting out your best effort in accomplishing what you set out to do in life. A person who does half a job to get by will not achieve much in their lifetime. People look at who you are, and they notice what efforts you make to get your work completed. People will not continue to do business with you if you only devote a little time to your task. Many people will say they will do it tomorrow, but tomorrow has come and gone many times. A Doctor is dedicated to helping his patients heal or get well to the best of his ability. It may take a whole team of Doctors to figure out what is wrong with you if you have a rare illness. You could surely die if your Doctor is not dedicated to their task. We must accomplish the most we can do daily that we are here on earth, do it with pride and total devotion, and put our heart and soul into it.

God Knows By Your Actions And Thoughts If You Are Devoted To Him

Are you loyal to God? I hope you love and trust God to help heal you on your darkest days. We should thank God daily for the wonderful things he has provided us in this World. God has created beautiful and breathtaking scenery, as well as diverse and stunning animals and plants. I hope you are dedicated to God, helping to spread His good works so that others may know how Jesus has helped you. God has saved my life many times, and I thank him every night in my prayers. We must always keep our faith, because if we lose it, we are nothing.

Who Are You Dedicated To?

It would be best to be dedicated or devoted to family and friends. You should have total faith in God that he will lead you in the right direction in your life, and if he sees you getting off the trail, he will lead you back on the right one again. It would be best to be loyal and trusting with your friends, family, and others you meet along life’s Hi-Way. 100 % of you should be dedicated to God and what God stands for. Be committed to your church. Come to church or listen online, and remember to send your tithes to your church on a regular basis. Keep up reading your Bible and devotions.

Dedicated To Your Job

I used to own some rental homes and was dedicated to maintaining and repairing them. I did a lot of painting and general maintenance myself. I was fortunate to have dedicated carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other skilled repair personnel. I wanted every rental home to be up to par so I could live in it myself. If you could not live in your rental home, how could you expect a tenant to live there? Do the best at your job, and the people who come to know you will rely on you and have a successful business or career for years to come.

Buying A Snowblower

Buying A Snowblower

Consider The Area You Have To Clean

If you have a large area to clean, I would suggest a large snowblower with an auger and chains on the tires for extra traction, especially when there is a lot of snow and ice on the ground. If the area to clean is an entire yard along with a long driveway, an All Wheel Drive vehicle with a cab would be preferable. In the country, a pickup with a blade or a tractor with a snowblower is best, as snow really gets packed in with the strong winds that the farm country experiences.

A Small Snowblower

I love a small blower for cleaning close to the house and for clearing off your deck and ramp. The small snowblowers are easier to maneuver and manage than the larger ones. I would suggest an electric start, as in freezing weather, the engine may not start easily, and you may flood the engine by trying to start it too many times. I prefer the ones that do not require mixing the gas and oil.

Large Snowblower

Consider your age when buying a large snowblower. Will you be able to move it around easily or load it to take it to a repair shop? Large blowers have a higher capacity, and they complete the job more quickly. Never put your hand in the auger area to remove a big hunk of snow, as one man did years ago, losing half of his hand. Turn blowers off and wait until everything has shut off completely before servicing.

Four Wheelers With A Blade Attached

They are convenient as they have a lot of power and traction. I would suggest having a cab, a heater, and wipers on your four-wheeler. A straight blade will move up to about four inches of snow, where a V-blade will remove more, and it will be able to break up these hard-packed snow areas we sometimes have after a blizzard.

Four Wheel Drive Pickup With Blade

A straight blade will clear a lot of snow, but it will not break up hard-packed areas. You need a V-blade on your truck for that. Make sure to buy tires with a deep tread, as this will help prevent you from getting stuck in horrible drifts while moving snow. Put two sandbags in the back of your truck, one on each side of the bed, for added traction.

Large Tractor’s and  Snowblowers

A tractor and a large snowblower will get through most snowdrifts, but once in a while, a shear pin will break, and it is not easy to line up the opening for the new shear pin to fit in, especially on a cold winter day.

Tractors And Buckets With Four Wheel Drive

If you have a snow drift that is snow-packed and very tall, a four-wheel drive tractor with a bucket will break it apart, allowing you to move the snow out of your way and get on with your day. Whatever you choose to move your snow, do it with extreme caution. If you feel exhausted, please rest, as it may save your life. If you still do not feel better, or you feel chest pain or are not yourself, call for an ambulance and do not hesitate, for you may die.

Near Death Experiences

Near Death Experiences

Surgeries

Perhaps someone you know almost died during surgery. They may tell you what happened to them during that near-death moment, maybe they had a vision and saw different events unfolding, or they talked to God. God may have saved them for a mission or cause that they have yet to fulfill. You may hear the Doctors say that you are bleeding out. You pray to God to give you more time to complete your mission on earth. They asked to see their Mother and Father, but God did not do that because he knew if he did, they would not want to leave heaven.

Getting Hit By A High Voltage Of Electricity

I was on a ladder scraping a house when I hit two wires at once. My scraper had a wooden handle with plastic on it. I could sense the electricity’s voltage. There was a big boom noise as I had blown the main fuse in the house. The fuse was replaced, and all was fine. I never made that mistake again. Be extremely cautious when working with electricity, as it can be fatal in an instant.

Car Problems

The brake line can leak on an older vehicle, causing your brakes not to work, which can make it very difficult to stop in time. I had new brake lines put on my older vehicle. A power steering fluid leak can make it almost impossible to steer your car. If your car dies in busy traffic, you could be killed instantly. A tire blowout can be catastrophic if you lose control of your vehicle.

Everyone Has Had Many Close Calls In Life

I was driving down a well-traveled street when all of a sudden a man’s trailer gate swung open, and if I hadn’t sworn, it would have hit me head-on. One day, I had to make several trips back to our home for tools, and it was a good thing that I did, as a horrible accident had occurred on that road about the time I would have been on it. If you have a day that slows you up, maybe it was meant to be, as that is what saved your life. One time, an entire wheel was going across the road at at least 100 miles an hour after it came off a car. I saw the wheel go about half a mile before it came to rest in a field of picked corn.

Lightening Strikes

I came close to being struck by lightning. I was indecisive about getting out of a car one day, and thank goodness I was, because if I hadn’t, my hand would have been on the door as lightning struck right next to the car door.

God Protects Us

Always remember that delays may occur for a good reason, such as to save your life. If you missed a flight and the people on that flight were killed, God saved your life by causing the delay. Many people have said over the years that if they had been on time, they would have been killed. Some people had delays at the World Trade Center years ago. One man was on a flight, and he suffered a massive heart attack. There was a well-known heart surgeon on that flight who ultimately saved his life. Sometimes we are in the right place at the right time to avoid disaster. God tries to save our lives if we listen to small clues or delays. God is with us 24/7, and he loves every one of us dearly, as we are all God’s children.

Cats Are Concerned About Us

Cats Are Concerned About Us

Cats Will Try To Warn Us Of An Approaching Storm

My friend’s cats ran under her couch just before the tornado siren came on. She came out shortly before they had the all clear on the local TV station. Years ago, my Russian Blue cat looked up toward the heavens and meowed loudly. Then, we experienced a severe hailstorm that damaged many roofs and windows. My cats try to keep an eye on me when I work outdoors, clearing snow. If I stay outside too long in inclement weather to suit my cats, they meow loudly at me as if to scold me for worrying them.

When You Return From The Hospital

My cat, Conrad, would check on me every hour to make sure I was still breathing at night. My other housecats would sit on my lap. They took shifts so that one of my cats was by my side 24/7.

Cats That Save Their Owners’ Lives

One family had a cat that would alert them right before their daughter had a seizure. The cat kept their daughter from being harmed when the seizure started, thanks to their concerned housecat. Cats will wake their owners to alert them if their house is on fire or if they smell a gas leak. One cat meowed and growled, and she had never growled before because she saw a bear right outside the patio door, and she did not want them to go outdoors. Cats have attacked an intruder in the house by leaping on them and scratching them to pieces.

Cats Never Want Us To Go On A Vacation

They seem to know there is a chance that we may not return home again. We might die in a car or plane crash, and they seem to have this sixth sense about them. They will lie on your luggage and follow you all day before you leave on your vacation. When we return home, they ignore us for a while to show they disapprove of us leaving them alone, except for the person who cared for them while we were gone. After about three or four hours have passed, they love us to pieces by purrs, head butts, and more.

You Do Not Feel Well

Cats are attuned to our behavior and emotions, as they can detect the scent of our breath and sense any chemical changes in our bodily chemistry. Cats can sense if you have cancer or if you are about to die, as you have a different smell than you used to when you were healthy. Cats tend to lie on the area where someone has cancer. One lady’s cat would often lie down by her lower abdomen or bowel area. She went to the Doctor and told him that her cat had started to lie there just recently, and she had a colonoscopy, which saved her life thanks to her housecat and her Doctor, who ordered the colonoscopy. Our feline friends love us, and they want to be by our side for all of their nine lives. God bless our Dear feline friends.
