Cats With Ear Mites Or Fleas

Ear Mites And Your Cats

If your cat goes outdoors, he stands a good chance of getting ear mites. Could you try to keep your cat indoors? If you have more than one cat in your house, all of your cats will have to be treated for ear mites, as an ear mite infestation spreads quickly from cat to cat. If your cat is scratching his ears or shaking his head, he most likely has ear mites. We can get ear mites from our cats. Cats can develop ear ulcers and may need surgery to remove the pocket if pus or fluid is present. Your cat may not be stable on their feet if they have an inner ear infection from ear mites. Do not leave ear mites untreated, as your cat will suffer and not feel well. When you adopt a stray cat, take them to your Vet ASAP to make sure they do not have ear mites and, if they do, treat them. No one wants their Dear feline friends to suffer. A cat with ear mites will sleep more because of the ear mites bothering them constantly. Over-the-counter ear mite medicines may work for a day or two, which is why your Vet has to treat them with powerful medicine that actually kills the ear mites.

Cats And Fleas

I went into a house once to clean it, and they had a cat with fleas that they had taken off the street. I was bitten up over half of my body. I had to have the house treated twice by a pest control professional because of how quickly and for how long flea eggs live and hatch into fleas. I adopted a young cat once that was covered in fleas. My Vet gave me some powerful cleaner to bathe her with. I bathed her twice with it, and all of her fleas were killed, and I did not get bitten by any fleas. Do not let your cat outdoors because that is one of the ways they can get fleas. Keep your litter boxes clean because fleas love to breed in dirty litter boxes, and would you like to go to a filthy bathroom? I bet you would say no. If you get a flea infestation in your home, it will have to be fumigated twice and empty for a while, as you do not want to breathe in those strong chemicals. All of your bedding,  things on the floor, and clothes will have to be washed, or the flea infestation will never stop. I cleaned a house once that had a dog with fleas, and I had to be treated at the doctor’s office, plus I had to fumigate my home and have my one house cat treated. Wild animals carry fleas, and Deer carry deer ticks that can bite you and your cats. Keep all your cats indoors if possible, and if they do slip out, get them back in ASAP. I hope you never experience a flea infestation.
