Watch What You Say When You Talk To Someone

Think Before You Speak

People never forget the unkind words that you have said to them. It may fester in them every time they see you. Once words have left your mouth, you have opened the floodgates that may end your relationship with them or alter it forever. If you have lost trust in a relationship, you no longer have a relationship with that person. Words are mightier than the sword, as the old saying goes. One word can sink a battleship or end a relationship forever. What you may think is a joke may not be a joke at all to the other person. Do not call someone while you are at the boiling point of anger. Cool down, and after you have thought it out, you can ask them why they said such-and-such. Try to remain calm, cool, and collected with people whenever possible, and tell them that they have hurt you. See how they respond. If they have a nonchalant attitude, they really don’t care and try to avoid them, as they have nothing to offer.

Never Offer Someone More Than You Can Deliver

Never offer someone the moon, the wind, and the stars, as all you can give is just wind. If you promise to do something, do it promptly and without delay. People often prefer not to wait around for a contract or a job to be completed. If you said you could get their job done by a specific date, complete it by then, and word of mouth will spread that you consistently get your work done on time. If you tell someone that you will use top-quality materials, do not show up with low-grade materials and expect them to accept it.

Pricing: Agree On It Before The Work Begins

No one wants sticker shock when it comes time to pay a bill. Have a contract signed before any work begins, specifying what you want done, the type of materials to be used, and the total labor cost. One man did not do this, and he was treated poorly as they increased his hours and added trip and gas charges. Be savvy when it comes to hiring people. If they do more work than what you wanted done, you don’t have to pay them for it if you have a signed contract in advance of the work being done.

It Is Not Necessary To Use Foul Language

Every other book today seems to contain foul language. It is actually a display of a lack of knowledge, for a better word, that should convey your point just as well. Say that God would enter the room when those foul words left your mouth, do you think he would be pleased with you? Well, I guess not. God listens to every word that leaves our mouths and how it affects the people to whom we say those words. God is pure in heart and soul, and we should strive to emulate God’s goodness and set a good example for young people.
