Dark Skies And Stormy Nights

Sickness

It seems dark outdoors when sick, even when the sun shines brightly. A person generally feels worse at night when they are ill. A stormy night is when you are in constant pain and cannot sleep. When you think the dark clouds are about to overtake you, call friends who will lift you so you may forget about your pain for a while. Nights seem to go on forever when you feel you’re worse. Pray to God to help alleviate your pain and restore your sense of well-being so that you can feel like your old self again. God brings light into the World even on the darkest of days.

Dark Skies

Dark skies signal that the weather is about to change. We may have a thunderstorm or possibly a tornado. When the skies turn dark, we may turn on a weather radio to let us know what kind of storm may be headed our way. God is our weather radio as we pray to him to keep us safe and secure from approaching storms. If our power goes out, we turn on a flashlight to help light our way. God is our beacon in the night.

Stormy Nights

All of us are afraid of stormy nights. If we are under a tornado watch or warning at night, we will not be able to see the tornado approaching us. Thunder and lightning bolts can scare young children quickly, and we must assure them that everything will be fine. I remember my Grandmother saying that God was rearranging his furniture, and I was not scared anymore after she told me that. If I think a tornado is approaching, I go to my basement with a weather radio, food, flashlight, medicine, cell phone, and other essentials. I pray to God while in the basement that the tornado may pass by and no one is harmed.

Don’t Let Others Put A Dark Cloud Over You

Don’t let anyone bring you down. Look for people in your life who will lift you and inspire you to move forward and upward with your life. People who try to put you down have low self-esteem issues, and attempting to put you down seems to lift them. Do not give anyone the power to control you, as you are the pilot in your life. Don’t let gossip about you bother you as long as you know it is not valid. That is all that truly matters, as people will believe what they want to think about you anyway.

God Is With You Through All Of The StormS That Head Your Way

Pray for people who need God’s healing touch. God can and does heal people. All of us will get sick and die eventually, as that is just part of nature. God can take away your pain. Help and uplift those suffering, weak, tired, and feeling low, as God would help them. Pray for all you know who need God’s healing hands to touch and heal them. We all need family, friends, a good Doctor, and God when sick.

Cats Toys That Cats Do Not Like

Toys That Make Too Much Noise

Some cat toys make too much noise, scaring your cat away. I have had battery-operated ones that scared my cats so much that they never came near that cat toy again. The cat toys I have had the most problems with are the ones that show up as pop-ups on websites. They are made poorly, and the sound boards must be defective. I stopped ordering from pop-up sites and only buy from trusted cat and pet supply companies. By purchasing from a trusted company, you can return the item and receive a full refund. If you buy from a pop-up site, the postage cost is more than the item is worth, leaving you stuck with a defective cat toy that you will most likely put in the garbage.

Cat Toys That Are Too Big

All of my cats enjoy playing with smaller cat toys. If you give them a large plush toy, it will just sit there, never played with. They do not like playing with large balls or soft plastic toys.

Cat Wheel

Only two of my cats have used my cat wheel. Two cats did not need to lose any weight whatsoever, but they are the two that like my cat wheel. The ones that should use it will not go near it, even though I have enticed them with catnip and cat treats.

Hard Plastic Cat Toys

If the cat toy is too hard or too large, they will avoid going near it. My cats do like to play with small plastic bugs that are too large for them to swallow. I think they don’t like that they cannot bite into it or carry it around easily.

Crinkle Cat Toys

Once a crinkle cat toys get smashed or out of shape, my cats stop playing with it. Cats like things to move around quickly when they bat at them, and if the cat toy is out of shape, you might as well get them a new one.

Cat Toys Do Wear Out, And You Must Replace Them

Catnip tooth-cleaning toys get dirty and gross, so replace them often. If a toy is missing an eye or tail, throw it away. We wouldn’t want to use a dirty toothbrush, and our cats also prefer clean items. It is not safe to let your cat play with a cat toy that is falling apart, even if it is their favorite. I try to buy them a new toy like the one they’ve worn out, and eventually, they will get used to it. I know it will take some time, but they will ultimately play with the replacement after some time has passed. If you cannot wash your cat toys and they are gross, get rid of them ASAP. We all want our cats to be happy, healthy, and content, so we must give them sanitary toys to play with.

I Had A Dream About Kensie

I Had A Dream About Kensie About A Week Ago

First, I saw a friend of mine who had died; she looked like an angel, all white, with angelic wings. I then saw a big white cat in a cage sitting on a shelf; she was pure white and glowed in the dark room at night, as if she were an angel. I thought about it for several days, knowing that I had to find this big white cat somehow. I thought, “Where do I look?” so I decided to look at the website where I had adopted my last three cats. I looked for quite a while, was about to give up, then saw Kensie, called them up, and told them to save her for me, as I wanted to adopt her. I told them about my dream, and they said it was meant to be. I think my friend who died and  God wanted me to adopt Kensie. I filled out my adoption paperwork, I paid the adoption fee, and now I have Knesie in my life.

Kensie Is In The Bathroom Until All Of My Cats Get Familiar With Each Other, With The Door Shut

I always put the new addition to my cat family in the bathroom, as there is a large crack under the door where they can smell each other’s scents and growl or hiss at each other without anyone getting harmed. I have had excellent success with this method of introduction for years. Winchester growled and hissed at her through the door as she dished it right back at him. Faith smelled under the door, and  Mr. Gray without too much fuss. She is sleeping on a blanket from the shelter where I  adopted her. She has food, fresh water, a litter box, and a cat hammock in the bathroom. The furnace duct is directly above her so that she will be nice and cozy at night.

Kensie Is Very Gentle And Loving

She loves to sit on your lap and have belly rubs. She has light colored blue eyes and pink ears and pads. She is pretty large, but she has a clean bill of health, and she is only six years old. Her former owner had to go to a nursing home, and she could not have her any longer. I will put her on Purina Weight Loss Formula cat food and hope that she sheds some of those unnecessary pounds. She walks around easily, and she can jump up and down with no problems.

Kensie And I Formed A Bond ASAP

The first thing she did when she got to our home was to lick my hand. I called her name, and she came out of her cage and purred away softly while I stroked her lovely, soft hair. She ate some cat food and three dried chicken cat treats. She then went to the door and looked under it at the different cats that would walk by. Kensie and I will have many happy and healthy years together.

Maintaining Your Vehicles

I have the oil changed on all of my vehicles when needed, as oil is inexpensive when compared to the cost of a new motor. I replace my tires when the tread is worn down or I lack enough grip with the tires that came with the car initially. Tires help in stopping and maintaining control of your vehicle. Have air filters and cabin filters replaced, as mice can build nests in cabin filters. A well-maintained car can last for many years without any problems. One man told me that he had 268.000 miles on his Camaro.

Furnace And AC Checks

Your furnace should be checked every two years for any leaks, belts, motors, and lubrication needs. You don’t want the thermo coupler or ignitor to stop in the middle of a blizzard, leaving you without heat in your home. Maintain your furnace filter yourself by replacing it every month or every two months, depending on the type of filter you buy. ACs need to be checked to ensure they do not have any R-134a refrigerant leaks and to clean the outdoor coils of debris such as leaves and more.

Appliances

If your washing machine is noisy, have a repair person assess the problem. Washing machines need to have the softener area taken apart and cleaned when you see residue on your clothes after washing them. A YouTube video will show you how to do it. Clothes dryers may need a new thermo coupler, ignitor switch, or belt around the drum. Your refrigerator may become very noisy just before it stops working for good. Clean the coils under or behind your refrigerator, and it will last much longer. Watch a YouTube video on how to do it. Defrost your freezer often, and it will last much longer and use less energy to keep your food frozen. Clean the filters frequently on dehumidifiers and portable ACs so they run efficiently and effortlessly.

Snowblowers, Chainsaws, And Lawn Mowers

It is a good idea to have the spark plugs changed in your mowers, chainsaws, and snowblowers, as they will start easily when you need them the most. Put Seafoam in your gas when you store it, so you do not put bad fuel in your mowers and more. Remember to put oil in your 2-cycle engines, or you will ruin the engine in a matter of minutes.

Small Appliances

If you store some of your small appliances, use them once in a while to keep the motors working. Run your mixer, blender, and coffee maker. Put a cleaning solution in your coffee maker to remove scale and to keep it working in good order. Clean the crumbs out of your toaster for sanitary reasons. Wipe off and clean all of your appliances after use.

Maintenance Saves Money And Time

If you do not maintain things, they will not last, and you will have wasted a lot of money replacing an appliance or item that could have lasted with proper maintenance over the years.

Truth And Honor

It Is Important To Tell The Truth

Falsehoods can ruin people and make their lives terrible. Get all of your facts together before you place blame on someone else’s feet. To be accused of something you did not do as a child will stick with you for your entire life. I was accused of things I never did by a mean kindergarten teacher, who would make me stand in the corner with a dunce hat on, even though I had done nothing wrong. She did not apologize, and the other kids in class would laugh at me.. If you make a false accusation, be sure to correct it as soon as possible, so that no one suffers unnecessarily. I ordered items online, but they were not what I expected. Once, I ordered large wind chimes, but they turned out to be tiny. They were supposed to keep pests out of your garden, but they were so small that no pest could even see them, let alone hear them. A company like that will get negative reviews and will soon be out of business. Do not bear false witness against your neighbor or anyone without all of your facts.

Honor

Who do you honor and hold dear in your heart? I honor my parents, God, friends, and family. We should honor our pets with the best care we can provide. We are the guardians and caregivers of all God’s creatures on earth. We should honor the women and men of the military services who have laid down their lives or put their lives at risk for our freedom. I honor my parents and grandparents by keeping their values and maintaining the homestead to the best of my ability. I keep the yard mowed, cut down dead trees, and ensure all the buildings are in top-notch repair. Honor is significant to me, as it shows respect for someone else’s life and their values. If you make the honor roll in school, you have worked hard for your good grades. Others will know that you prioritized your studies over sports and socializing with the wrong crowd, which often lacks good study habits.

Truth And Honor Fit Together

You need both truth and integrity to honor someone truly. Life is about the meaningful and memorable events that shape us into who we are today. Traveling with a friend you honor and respect is a truly unforgettable experience, and you will cherish all those precious memories in your heart forever. You honor your friends by helping them with their luggage and accompanying them to places they want to visit. Life is all about give and take, and honoring all those who hold a special place in our hearts, making our darkest days sunny and bright, full of laughter and joy, through all the seasons of our lives. We must put God at the top of the honor list, for without God in our lives, we would be nothing at all.

Territorial Cat Fights

I have had Tom cats leave other Tom Cats all scratched up and with pieces of their ear missing. Tom cats are very fierce fighters when it comes to defending their territory. One stray Tom came to our place once, and our three resident Toms had him running for the hills. I had a female cat beat up another female cat that was not fixed, like she was, and it was terrible, as she left her bloody and hurting.

Cat Fights In The Middle Of The Night

I have been woken up by growling and howling catfights in the middle of the night. They may continue fighting each other for hours until one of them backs down and leaves the scene.

Resident Tom

The resident top Tom cat will generally always win the catfights until a younger Tom cat wins the fight and gains the former Tom’s territory. It is sad to see your senior Tom beat up and bleeding because he is no longer able to keep up the stamina and maneuvers that a young Tom had.

Cat Fights Against Wild Animals

Cats that take on skunks or rats will end up with parts of their face bitten up and maybe an ear or perhaps an eye missing. Cats can easily kill a rabbit or a mouse and eat it. Cats do not stand a chance against a fox, wolf, or coyote, as they will grab the cat and shake it to death or bite it in the neck. Please ensure that your house cats are kept indoors at all times, or provide a metal enclosure for them if they are outdoors. If your cat sneaks outdoors, quickly find it and return it to the safety of your home. A declawed cat does not stand a chance as an outdoor cat, since it has no way to defend itself.

Cat Fights With Dogs

Generally, if a cat gets into a fight with a dog, it will be severely injured or killed. Most cats and dogs do not get along well, though there are a few exceptions, of course. We had a small dog that absolutely loved cats. Our dog would share her dog house with them and babysit the Mother cats’ kittens while she was out hunting. Later on, our small dog and the Mother cat went out hunting together as they both would catch mice. Our small dog once caught a mouse, but our cat took it from our dog. However, our small dog managed to retrieve it and swallow the mouse.

After A Horrible Fight, Acess Your Cat And See If They Need Medical Treatment

If your cat is in horrible pain or bleeding profusely, take them to your vet as soon as possible. If you think you can treat them or if you have medicine or bandages at home, use those. If your cat is not getting better, take them to your vet and do not hesitate to do so, as it may be a matter of life or death for your dear feline friend. I hope your cat never gets into a horrible fight of any kind.

People With An Inferiority Complex

People Who Feel Bad About Themselves

They will generally put others down and never praise them for their accomplishments in life, as they are also jealous. They may criticize your blog post. They may say you have too many of something, or they constantly disagree with what you have written. All of us are entitled to our own opinions, but do not put other people down because you are jealous of their accomplishments. Go out into the world and do things that help others, as this should elevate your self-esteem. Life throws all of us a hardball now and then, but it is all about how we rise above it. We should help others in the same situation we may have been in previously.

People Who Always See The Clouds And Never The Sun

Some days will bring you great joy, and other days will give you great sorrow, as that is just part of life. I always like sunny days as they stimulate me to get more done than on cloudy days. Cloudy days are a good time to read a book and call people to brighten their day, helping them see the sun through the clouds. Remember, every day can be bright and shiny if you set your mind to make it that way.

All Gloom And Doom

After I talk to someone with this attitude, it drains me. God makes a huge difference in our lives every day, uplifting us and bringing joy, hope, love, and peace into our lives daily. Try to stay away from gloom and doom people, as you do not want to let them lead you down that road. There is always light at the end of every tunnel if you want to look for it.

God Made All Of Us, And He Did Not Make Anyone Any Better Than Anyone Else

No one is inferior to anyone. God created each of us in His image, and we are here for a specific purpose: to help God and others in life. We help God by being one of His God shepherds, assisting people in need, being kind and considerate of their needs, and supporting them with the struggles they may be facing. Never make fun of anyone; you don’t know their story, as you only see the cover and haven’t read the chapters of their life. Some people have chapters in their lives that have caused them great pain and sorrow.

Helpful And Not So Helpful

If your opinions of someone are not nice, keep them to yourself. People are not always perfect in their behavior, as they may not be feeling well at that moment. Never tell someone you don’t look so well today, as they probably already know they don’t look their best. Helpful people lift you up, take you to Doctors’ appointments, and genuinely care about your overall well-being. Never tell someone you look so well when they have told you they have medical issues, as they will take that you do not believe them. Treat everyone as you would want to be treated, and everyone will be happy and hopeful.

Buying Power

Shop around at various stores for what you are looking for. Do not be in a hurry to buy an item if you can live without it for a while, as the longer the store has it, the more likely they are to lower the price. I waited to buy a clock for some time, and eventually the store reduced the price considerably. Buying in volume helps. I generally deal with the store owner, and he is aware that I will be purchasing power tools, refrigerators, carpet rolls, clothing, and other goods from him on a regular basis. As a result, I receive a much better deal on my purchases.

Buying A Vehicle

When shopping for a vehicle, contact at least four dealerships and compare the prices to find the lowest one for your dream vehicle. This will give you some leverage in buying the vehicle at the car dealer of your choice, as they will try to match or outbid the price if possible. You can still sweeten the deal by asking for a year of free oil changes and a reduction in the continued warranty coverage plan.

Money Takes A Long Time To Accumulate

Money does not grow on trees, so you have to save some whenever you can. I used to buy water heaters from my local hardware store, and they had a six-year warranty that they always stood behind. They were a well-known brand at a reasonable price.

Buying A Vacuum Cleaner From The Door To Door Salesman

They start with a price of about $1500.00, which is absurd, and after they have shown you that your carpet was filthy, so to speak, by the dirt they suck out of it, they will say What do you have to trade in and they will offer you about $100.00 for your old vacuum. The next thing they try to do to entice you to buy it is to give you a good deal on shampooing, grinding, and other attachments that will fit onto their vacuum. If you tell them you will pay $ 400.00 for it, as they are leaving, you will be the proud owner of a new vacuum that has a lot of suction and will last you a lifetime.

Trade In Your Old Lawn Mower

Contact several implement companies to determine what they are asking for a used mower like yours, and then you will know its worth. Contact several dealers selling a new mower that you want, and you will be informed of all the prices. I called dealers up to 100 miles away, and then my local dealer matched their price; they also service my mowers. This works for whatever you want to trade, and your local dealer also gets to know that you have it serviced at their location on a regular basis. As a result, they are willing to pay more for your trade-in.

Make Sure You Buy A Brand-Name Item

Buying something just because it’s on sale at a cheap price will cost you much more down the road. We purchased a recliner years ago that was not a brand-name product, and the mechanism wore out in only three years. Ceiling fans do not last unless you buy a tried-and-true brand. I always buy appliances from reputable brands such as Whirlpool, GE, Hamilton Beach, and KitchenAid. The electronic items I always purchased were name-brand computers, printers, and other devices.

Confidence Issues

Please do not listen to someone when they tell you you can not do something; prove them wrong instead. When someone tells me I cannot do something, I get into high gear. I am more determined than ever to do it and get it done quickly and professionally. When we buy a new electronic item, it can be not very comforting to set it up and get it up and running correctly. Even when we buy a new vehicle today, it must be set up to receive all the latest updates. Once, my SUV would not start for 24 hours because it had started doing an update as it turned off. It never said it was going to do an update. I am glad that only happened once. I was close to home, and a friend helped me out. I cannot stand it when computer glitches cause you to lose all of the work you just did.. I had that happen, but I just rewrote my whole article again while it was fresh in my mind. Confidence in ourselves helps us get through problems, and we will eventually solve them on our own or with a friend’s help and with God by our side.

Confidence In New Products

I do not have much confidence in the items that they make today. Appliances last only about eight years, whereas they used to last 20 to 50 years. Everything is made from cheaper, thinner metal and electronic parts that cannot withstand the test of time. We have to get back to a society that is not about throwing away products and takes pride in what we build and manufacture for the general public to use in their homes, businesses, on the road, communication, etc.

Confidence In Your Home Builder

Make sure you build a home with a contractor who has been in business for many years. Call people he has built homes for and see how satisfied they are with their new homes. Find out if he used lumber that was not up to par or cut corners on the kind of shingles he installed on your roof, flooring, windows, doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, and appliances that he may include. Ensure you have everything in writing on how and what he will use to build your new home and a definite timeline for when it will be completed and ready to move into. I would not recommend building a prefab home. I had hired a manufacturer with excellent references, but sometimes, that does not help you. I had a prefab home built years ago, and they cut corners right and left. They did not clean up the job site whatsoever. They had me use a piece of wood with nails already in it for the railing as it was used to hold the lumber together. The doors in the home were hollow honeycomb doors; they had lots of trouble wiring the home, and they did not know how to install the siding correctly. I had to tell them how to install the siding. The shingles on the home were just stapled on, and in one wind storm, about 50 shingles came off in one area, and I had to hire a roofer to reinstall new shingles. In a miniature print, you could not see that it was mentioned that they would not clean up their job site. The company went out of business in about three years. Even when something is in writing, sometimes they can cut corners so it is still legal by an inch of the law. Make sure you place your confidence with the right people, company, or products.

Cats And How They Get Each Other In Trouble

Siamese Cats: Our Masters Of Deception

Siamese seem to know how to work everything to their advantage quickly and effectively. They seem to be able to execute plans to get their housemates in trouble. One time, my older Siamese cat knocked over the Christmas tree, and she had never done anything like that before. She left my new young male cat under the tree as if to tell me what happens when you bring a youngster into your home. Well, the shig was up when I saw her tugging at a bulb on the tree later on in the day. One time, I let my older Siamese cat outdoors, and she beat up my resident outdoor Tom. He did not fight back, so I knew she had instigated the match. When I first brought my new Siamese cat into our home, I couldn’t find her hiding spot for a month, until one day she emerged from a box of stored Christmas decorations.

Young Cats And Older Cats

Cats will quickly try to establish who has top rank in your home. Your main house cats will try to instill this into the newcomer quickly. If he tries to pounce on one of them, they will strike him in the face with one or two good slaps. Your young cat will try to surprise-attack your housecats, which makes them very angry indeed with the new cat, and he soon learns to forget trying to do that. Unfortunately, as your cats continue to age, the young cat will be able to pull some rank privileges, and it is your job not to let it get out of control. Always talk to your young cat firmly from the start if he becomes overly aggressive with your other cats. Training and learning begin from the very first day of introductions. I hope your cats will love each other and live in perfect harmony for many happy and healthy years.

Cats Love It. When The Young Cat Causes Chaos

One time, my older cat noticed the young cat taking the wings off a bird Christmas ornament. She looked at him and me and said, in the look on her face, ‘Do you want that cat that doesn’t know the difference between a real and a fake bird for one of your house cats?’ We were kind of on the same wavelength. He was a brilliant cat, but he had one weak moment in his thought pattern as he must have wanted to eat a real bird that day, and he had to settle for the action of taking the wings off a fake bird. Your older cats love it when the new cat is running through your home, breaking things in his path, and they think he is going to get it now. Your cats seem to forget very quickly that they, too, used to be young and fancy free. May God bless all our cats and may they get along well in their relationships with one another, even when disagreements arise from time to time.
