I Never Give Up On What I Want In Life

If someone tells me I cannot do something, I am more determined than ever to prove them wrong. One party told me I could not win a prize on how to plant a field. I watched what the others had been doing and determined they had not done their math correctly regarding the degree to which the area should be planted. I won the top prize in that contest that had been going on all day long. I worked on one computer problem all day until I figured it out, and it was an ancient computer that used the old DOS system. I had to reprogram it, and it worked perfectly afterward. A very young man purchased it from me. I have fixed TV sets and typewriters, clocks, adjusted carburetors and plumbing, and installed new roofs. If I want something in life, I find a way to make it happen. If you fail, to begin with, keep working away at it, and your goals will be accomplished eventually.

Shop Around For Your Wants And Needs

I shopped around for the vehicles I have purchased over the years. I look for the best deal and the best trade-in price. One place wanted me to pay them $100 to look at their car, and I told them no. They informed me that if I purchased a vehicle from them, I would receive a refund. I said, “What if I do not like your car?” and they said they would keep my $100. I went to another car dealer, and they wanted me to sign a contract to buy before I could even look at their car. I said I would leave their store if I could not look at it first. The car was so small I could not even move in it. I went there and never came back again. I found a lovely car dealer out of town and purchased it there. I bought my last vehicle online and was pleased with how easy that transaction worked. When purchasing a home, shop around, compare prices, and tell your realtor what you want and need in your new home. Negotiate a price that you and the seller can live with. Have the seller provide warranty insurance for the furnace, AC, and more.

Bargains On Amazon And The Internet

I have purchased water heaters and small appliances online. I have had good luck with everything so far. You can buy slightly used devices online, which I have done. You can buy almost anything on the internet. Look at their reviews before you buy from them. I purchased a new smartwatch online. I purchased my three-wheel electric trike online and loved riding it.

God Never Gives Up On You

God goes after any lost sheep, and he is delighted when they come back home. God helps me reach my goals in life. Our goals should be to please God with what we do and pursue in life. I love writing Inspirationswithlaura as I want to share what inspires me and what God has done for me.

Drifting Away From Your Connection To God

Think about why you do not feel connected to God and try to get rid of that feeling. Sometimes, if a loved one dies, people say that if God loved me, why did he allow my son, wife, daughter, husband, or friend to be taken away from me? It was not God that took them away; it was just part of nature that took them away, as we all have a time to be born and a time to die, as that is just part of life. People will blame God for their illness, but that was not God’s bidding, as he loves all of his flock. Some people blame God for the weather, a job loss, and more. God does not control your destiny entirely; you have choices to make on your own, and if you choose wrong, you have a learning curve to correct your mistake. God will try to lead you on the right path, but if you keep taking your own path that may be totally wrong, that is on you. God is like a lighthouse to me as he tries to lead us back to shore and safety when the storms of life grow fierce and strong. God is your best friend and your truest friend, one who will never leave your side. Try to stay anchored to God, for God is anchored, and all other ground is sinking sand.

Talk With Your Friends About What Is Troubling You

Friends can help you see things in a clearer light. Something that you think is a big thing may only be a little bump in the road that you have blown out of proportion. The right friends will help strengthen your connection to God. Talk to your minister about what may be troubling you and how it may be changing your connection to God. Your minister will listen to you and help you reconnect with God, benefiting your mind, body, and soul. Without God in your life, you are nothing at all. With God in your life, all things are possible. Some of your friends may have gone through something similar to what you are going through, and they can share what they did with you, as two minds are better than one. You may want to join a support club, Bible study group, and more. I like to visit with senior citizens, as they have shed light on things that I never thought about. Everyone can learn a lot from our seniors if we truly listen to them and respect what they are trying to tell us, as their insights will help us go further in life. Knowledge is what takes you far in life, and that is why it is important to learn something new every day. Most of the time, we blame someone because of a lack of knowledge. Never blame someone for something until you are 110% sure. If they repent and are truly sorry, forgive them. God is your forever friend through thick and thin.

Joyful Living Everyday

Make Today A Joyful Day

Do some of your favorite activities every day. Read a magazine or book to relax and learn something new every day. Try learning to play a musical instrument, and soon you will be playing relaxing melodies for yourself and others. I like to go for walks and listen to the sounds of nature. I especially like it when I hear a cardinal singing up high in a tree or see a pair of them eating at my bird feeder. I generally will see two Blue Herons fly out of the creek not far from me. They remind me of a historic bird. I love the smell of fresh-cut grass or alfalfa hay. I have seen groups of wild turkeys in the fields along with ducks and quail. If you ride a bicycle during the day, you can take in all of the sounds of nature, such as frogs croaking in the morning in standing water in the ditches, or hear your neighbors’ roosters’ wake-up call cock a doodle doo.

Spend Time With God Every Day

I’d like you to please read a daily devotion and reflect on how that has applied to your day. I am sure you can relate to the devotion in something that you did today and how it worked out for you and others in your life. Help spread God’s good works by helping others with things that make their lives easier and better. Give to mission projects and donate your used clothing and other items to charities that will help deliver them to the right places and the people who need them. Praise God every day for what he has done to make your day better, for bringing the right friends into your life and your family, and for placing people in your life at the right time and in the right place.

Help Others And Feel Joyful

I like it when people ask me for advice, and I can help them out. If I need help with something, I want someone I can depend on, as we all do. When you give someone a present that you know they will love, it gives you a joyful feeling. People have asked me to pull things off their high sleeves, and I always do, as I am glad I can reach them. I saw an older woman fall one day, and I found some middle-aged men to help pick her up and get her into the building where she wanted to go. I thanked the men for helping her. I was stuck in a ditch with my pickup years ago, and about half of my neighbors stopped to ask if they could help me. I said no, I had called a tow truck, but I did thank each one of them for asking if I needed help. Remember, everyone is your neighbor, and we should come to each other’s aid when needed. It gives me a good feeling to make someone’s day a little brighter.

God Is The Center Post In My Life

God helps you connect with what really matters in life. You should build yourself around God’s teachings. A life led through God’s guidance is a life with purpose and growth. Living a life with purpose is what life is supposed to be about. We should all learn something new every day and use what we learn to enrich our lives and those of others. Everyone can bring something different to the table based on what they have learned or studied in life. Our life on earth is a learning ground that enriches our souls for our reunion with God, family, and friends someday in heaven. Without God in our lives, we are nothing, nothing at all. I hope your center post is God.

Set Your Sites On God

You see God every day when you hear birds sing, enjoy nature, hear the sound of a newborn baby, see newborn baby animals, and enjoy mountain views, or travel to different parts of the world to enjoy their foods and cultures, and learn about historic places that pertain to the Bible’s teachings.

With God As Your Center Post, You Can Reach Your Goals

I have prayed to God for help with various things over the years, and without his guidance, it would not have been possible. God has always opened another door for me after one door has closed, which I am very grateful for. If you have health problems, keep praying, as God is always listening. God will guide you to have a positive attitude that overpowers a negative one, and that gives you more years to live and enjoy your life to its fullest potential. Stay positive and always look at your glass as half full instead of half empty.

Gods Helper

Help by giving things to missions and organizations that help those less fortunate than you are. Read a daily devotion every day, as it is a good way to connect to God at the start of your day. Pray for yourself, your family, your friends, and everyone in the world, that they may be free from pain and suffering. Help out your fellow man when they have troubles. If you see a man without a coat, get him one. If someone asks you for food, give them some. Do not walk by a stranger in trouble, and remember someday that stranger in trouble may be you. Help by being one of God’s good shepherds. Buy some gift certificates and give them to a stranger as a Christmas present, which is very rewarding indeed if you see someone without, give them some new socks, shirt, and any other useful item that they may need.

Happiness And God

God helps me feel complete, at peace, joyful, hopeful, and loved. God has great compassion and kindness, and he cares deeply for all of his flock. Make sure God is always your center post in life, and you will have a very rich and rewarding life with God by your side.

Lost And Back Again

When The Lost Is Found

All of us have a wonderful feeling when the lost is found and back home again in the place where we keep it. If we do not put our tools back in their familiar spots, we tend to lose them for a while, and we are so elated when we finally do find them again. We get especially excited when we lose our billfold or purse, and once we find it, we are very relieved, and the rest of the day is stress-free. If we misplace our house keys, we get nervous, wondering where we lost them and whether we have an extra set somewhere. We may need to hire a locksmith to get into our house and install new locks on the doors. I generally find my keys in the pocket of a coat I was wearing or in a different pocket where I normally do not put them.

People Get Lost And Found Once Again

All of us get excited if one of our flock disappears. If we cannot find a family member or talk to them, it is very stressful for us. God is so very glad when one of his flock that had drifted comes back to him. People have so many temptations that tend to separate them from God. We must realize that God comes first in our lives, then us, and then others. We must help people who have drifted away from God find their way back home to God. Without God in your life, you are nothing at all. With God in your life, all things are possible as God saves and takes care of his flock. Never drift away from God for too long, as he is your root in life, and you are leaves on the tree that fly away with the wind without nourishment for your soul from God.

When Pets Return Home

When our pet dog or cat disappears, we spend hours trying to find them. We may find them soon, or it may take years. One woman moved to a different state, and her cat showed up on her doorstep six months later. Her cat was thin, but otherwise she was in good health. My Mother had a dog years ago that traveled over several mountain ranges, but she finally found her way back home with a few porcupine quills in her that the Vet safely removed. I had a cat that was gone for 8 years, and she returned home to die. Within one week of being home, she died.

Finding Things From The Past Is Wonderful

I had a toy years ago that I loved. One day, while mowing the lawn, I saw that wonderful toy from years ago still in one piece. It was a plastic six-finger that shot out little messages and flat darts. I also found a little owl whistle in a cupboard that had gotten stuck in there for years until it wished to be found by me. One day, I found one of my father’s marbles behind an old shed. It was a red-and-white swirl marble. I found several old toys at rummage sales that I had loved as a child, so I purchased them. Finding Lost Items and Items that have been lost to time is truly wonderful.

Never Break A Promise, As You Are Also Breaking A Trust

People expect you to follow through with a promise. Think about it, if you went to the ER and no one came to help you, you most likely would die. Promises can be a matter of life or death, literally depending upon the situation. If someone does not follow through on a promise, they have broken my trust. If you become sick or the weather prevents you from completing your promise, please let them know and do not leave them holding false hope. People will understand that the promise you made to them was out of your control, due to health or other issues.

God Made A Promise To Us That We Would Have Everlasting Life When He Laid Down His Life For Us

If God were to break his promise to us, we would all die from our sins, as no one is without sin on earth. God always keeps His promises to His faithful followers and those who genuinely repent of their sins. God provides food for us, and he shelters us from life’s storms that come our way. God watches over us 24/7, and he tries to protect us from the evil in this world. If you have a feeling that you should stay home because you may be in an accident, by all means listen to that feeling and stay home. We can live in paradise on earth if we follow God and appreciate all the beauty in the world, rather than dwelling on everything wrong. Some people bring joy wherever they go, and others bring joy when they leave. When a high-pressure salesperson calls, the call brings joy when it’s over. Talking to those who love and care about you brings joy into your life that lasts forever.

If Someone Says They Will Come To Your Place At A Certain Time, They Should Be On Time Or Early

It is very disrespectful to keep people waiting for you to show up. We all have the same number of hours in a day. If we wait for people to show up, they are robbing us of our time on earth, since we could be doing other things instead of waiting for them to show up when it is convenient for them. I dislike it when people are not on time. Time is precious, time is golden, time is not a given, as it is a gift from God for us to use wisely while we are on earth. Never spend your day just sitting around twiddling your thumbs. Stay busy, as busy hands stay out of trouble and make a difference in the world. Idle hands serve no one, and being idle can bring evil your way, as the old saying goes, Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. Be on time and contribute as much as your health allows in this world, for many hands working together can move mountains and bring about good.

Think About How God Has Helped You

God has helped me many times with health issues. He has always provided the right people at the right time to help save my life. I have friends who have walked the extra mile with me as I have had health issues. Friends stand by your side in good times and bad times, and they never falter in their love for you. Friends explain things to the Doctor when you are not able to. I had one doctor who thought I needed Prozac when I could have died from a serious illness. My friend told him in no uncertain terms that I was truly ill and not imagining things. With her help, I got the Doctor that I needed to see the next day. I thank God every night for helping me when I am sick, as prayers do truly get answered.

God And Workers

God has helped me get wonderful people to work with who have done repair work for me. I have had carpenters who took great pride in their work over the years. My neighbor built a wonderful new garage for our family next to the house. My carpenters have done a lot of repair work on our house and other outdoor buildings, which makes our home and buildings look well-maintained. Also, your buildings will last much longer when things get fixed promptly. Without God putting these wonderful carpenters and repair people in my life, our buildings would look awful instead of lovely.

God And Travel

I was blessed to have a friend who loved to travel as much as I did. We enjoyed traveling together and going to the same types of events, such as Operas, concerts, ballets, historic reenactments, and historic home tours. We enjoyed the different foods from the various countries. We both enjoyed shopping and found treasures to bring home from various stores. My friend added spice to life, and we could make each other laugh and have a good time. She is in God’s loving arms now. I dream about her at night, and sometimes we are at the places we traveled to in my dreams, and I remember the conversations we had together.

I Was Blessed With Wonderful And Loving Parents

Your parents help build the foundation of your life. You learn by watching and following your parents around. Your parents’ values become your values. My parents would help me with anything, and when I was little with pneumonia, they slept on the floor next to my hospital bed. I had a close and loving bond with my parents. I loved following my grandfather around, and after he died, I followed my father around as I learned how to repair almost anything by watching him and asking questions, as all children do. God gave me the right parents as they were kind, compassionate, caring, and very helpful. They even told me what to do before they died, and I have followed what they told me, as it was excellent advice. Every day is a wonderful, loving day with God by your side, protecting you against life’s storms, always knowing that clear skies will return to your life. God bless you and yours.

Please Don’t Tell Anyone That They Cannot Do It.

We all realize that some things are beyond our reach in our lifetimes. I was once told that I couldn’t win a contest, so I shouldn’t bother entering it. I was bound and determined to enter that contest, and I won. Encourage people to take on challenges in their lives that may seem impossible, as they may exceed your wildest expectations. Never tell a child that they will not be able to get a good grade on a test, as they will most likely take it to heart and figure, ‘Why should I even study for the test, as I will not get a good grade anyway?’ Encourage children and be a positive role model for them; do so often. I was once told by someone that I would never get a good job in life. I proved them wrong. I asked someone years later how their life was going, and they told me not so well.

Never Say Hurtful Words

Some people try to cut you to the core with hurtful words. Never judge a book by its cover because you have not even looked at any chapters in the book yet. The cover may look bright and cheerful, but the chapters have been stained with hurtful words or actions. Always think before you speak, and consider how you would feel if someone said that to you. The tables should be turned then. People have health conditions that they have no control over, so never make fun of them or think that they are trying to get out of doing things, as you have no idea until you have walked in their shoes. Words and actions can stick with a person for a lifetime, so choose your words wisely and have kindness in your heart toward your fellow man.

Do Not Make Fun Of Anyone

My kindergarten teacher was absolutely not a good teacher for young children. She and the other kids in class would laugh and make fun of me. She seemed to delight in making me stand in the corner with a dunce hat on for no reason at all, and I would get blamed for things that I did not do. I was a sickly child, and she thought I was a good little guinea pig for her to have a good time with. I have forgiven her for her actions, but I can never forget what she did to me, as it still haunts my friendships with women, even today. I have a hard time trusting women or relating to them. My Mother once told me You do not like women very much, do you and she was right. I have become close friends with some women in my life, but it takes a very long time for trust to develop, as I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I used to be very shy, and now I am very talkative thanks to the North Iowa Bloggers Group, founded by Sara Broers. I found it easier to trust younger women after being in the blogging group. I will never trust women my age after my experience in kindergarten.

Competition Should be Fair

You should not have a competition if you know that one opponent would not be able to win. I have seen people make fun of others in competitions, which is not right. I have seen others in a competition help their competitors so the competition is on more equal footing, which is a nice quality in a person.

Competition Should Have A Clear Set Of Rules

Rules should not be broken in a competition, even if someone has wagered on the game. Some fighters are told to lose the fight on purpose. I witnessed one fighter who did not do that. The coach and quite a few others were mad at him. He did not want to let down his friends, who knew he could win, or himself. You know what is right and wrong in a competition, so follow your heart and what your soul tells you to do. In boxing, there should be no kidney punches or hits that would cause permanent damage that could result in death.

Rowing Contest

I watched a Rowing Competition at Harvard University. There were two young men in each canoe paddling in tandem. If they rowed out of tandem, they soon fell behind. The leaders seemed to have an even rowing pattern in perfect tandem. Some competitors rowed very close to each other, so they could not row in perfect tandem. One tandem team seemed to run out of steam soon and fell way behind. One young man had his oars break in two, but luckily, they had a spare one with them. The coach came along in a canoe by the shore, and all the young men carried their canoes on top of their heads back to shore. It was fun to watch the rowing competition.

Do Not Let A Competitor Run Over You

I was playing badmiton in Junior High, and some of the girls played really poorly. They would slam the bad mitton shuttle next to the net, so it was impossible to hit it. I gave them some of their own medicine because they had been doing the same to all the girls they competed against. I stopped them from having a perfect winning streak, and I also taught them the errors of their ways. I cannot stand it when anyone plays really nastily or treats others with disrespect.

God does not Want You To Compete If You Are Not A Just And Worthy Opponent.

No one should ever compete against their friends. You should want your friends to succeed and be glad for all of their wins and successes in life. God is pleased when we succeed in life, and he cheers us on; we should do the same for others. God is our biggest cheerleader in life, and then our friends and family. Compete fairly, help others achieve their goals in life, and congratulate others on their accomplishments, as they have worked very hard to get where they are today. Praise God for your many blessings in life.

God Has Given You Another Day

Every day that we have on earth is a gift from God. I start my day thinking, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” If we reflect on this verse every day, we can accomplish much. Another day on earth is a blessing, as we can appreciate all of God’s beauty and serve as one of God’s shepherds by spreading his good works and teaching others how God can help them in their daily lives. Go for a walk and listen to all of the sounds of nature. I heard a Bald Eagle Shriek the other day as it was high up in an old Norway Spruce Tree watching for prey. I enjoy reading a devotion in the morning and seeing how it reflects on my day. Almost every day, there is Something in the devotion that I read that pertains to how my day went.

If I cannot Find Something, I Pray To God To Help Me Find It.

I misplaced my vehicle’s keys the other day, and I prayed that God would help me find them. By 3 PM, I had located them. I thanked God for answering my prayers. God can help you find your way back to him if you have drifted away. Ask God to help you walk on the road you know is right for you and to stay off roads that have dangerous detours.

I Pray For Those That Are Fighting Horrible Diseases

I pray that God will take away their pain and heal them. When we pray for people, we become one of God’s healing messengers, as He listens to all our prayers and lays His healing and loving hands on our loved ones to comfort and heal them. Having people around you who love and care for you makes all the difference in the world when it comes to healing, as they give you the willpower and love necessary to carry on.

God Puts The Right People In Our Lives At The Right Time

I can reflect on what would have happened if a chain of events had not unfolded as they did, and I would not be here today. Life can be messy and involve life-threatening situations. If you get misdiagnosed or you get the wrong Doctor, you could end up dead. I am grateful for my wonderful friends over the years, who have helped me through the turbulent times in my life, and for all the joy they bring, as well as the excellent travel adventures they have shared with me. My friends who have passed will hold a special place in my heart forever.

God Always Knows What You Need Even Before You Do

God knows our waking thoughts and what we will do today, as well as how we will spend our lives. God will provide us with many options in our lives, and I hope we all choose the right ones. God helps point us in the right direction in life, and our job is to avoid dangerous detours so God can be pleased with what we accomplish as we complete our mission on earth.
