Bella was given to me by a friend. Bella was a nice and friendly cat. She did not want to be patted on the head. She liked to have her back rubbed. Snowflake and Bella were the best of friends, and now they are together again in heaven,

Bella liked sleeping on a shelf with boxes with nice clean fluffy towels for her to sleep on. She would sleep in a heated cat bed next to Snowflake in winter. When Snowflake died, she slept by herself. Bella always greeted me in the morning with a warm and welcoming meow.

Bella lost three pounds suddenly. I took her to my vet, who ran a blood test that returned positive for liver cancer. I fed her tuna canned in water and got her weight up to 8.4 lbs. She had trouble swallowing and could not eat dry cat food any longer. I had Bella put to sleep at my vet’s office because I did not want her to suffer and get worse again suddenly. Bella was 11 years and ten months of age.

Bella loved cat snacks and treats and ate away at them. In her later years, she could not eat any snacks or treats, but she could eat a tablespoon of tuna in the morning and at night.

My cat Russ was always her knight in shining armor. If any younger cat picked on Bella, he would put them in their place. It seemed like Russ told them to respect their elders and toe the line.

Bella was a gray-striped cat with orange coloring throughout her hair. I am honored to have shared my life with Bella’s life. I will never forget her dearly and have a special place for her. My vet gave a memorial to Bella to help cure cats with similar diseases or ailments. God bless the beast and the children.

My Cats & Their Relationships With Other People

Some of my cats are very friendly and outgoing. I have some cats that are very Leary of other people and like to be by themselves. Cats are very independent creatures and warm up to other people on their terms and conditions.

I have cats that love to pick up by other people, and they love to be patted and scratched under their chin. My Calico cat Cali loves all people and will not leave them alone until they pat her on the head and hold her for a while. Russ is a light cream-colored cat who is very affectionate and loving. Faith is a gray and white tabby cat that loves to rub across your legs and for you to hold her while she purrs and purrs away.

Peter, Hilford, and Sherlock are very Leary of all people. If a cat’s parents are Leary of other people, their kittens seem to inherit that trait. Lizzie and Onyx are the parents of Peter, Nicole, and Conrad. Onyx and Lizzie are outdoor cats that have not been socialized with people, so they tend to be very Leary of all people.

It is essential to interact with kittens when they are very young to get them socialized with humans early in their lives, or they may always be on the wild side. Play games with your kittens, hold them, pat them on their head, and talk very softly and gently to them, and they will turn out to be very loving and social as adult felines.

Cats get very close to their owner and tend to be a bit Leary of people they don’t know. When I hand my cat to another person to hold and pat on the head, I stay in an area where my cat can always see me, and then she feels more at ease with the new person holding her.

What Irks My Cat

My cats do not like to listen to loud music of any kind. My outdoor cats are upset if a new cat enters their turf—all of my cats like gradual changes in their life. Putting a new piece of carpet in your home can irk your cat. The latest part of the carpet may smell like glue, and your cat can get sick just by smelling your new rug.

My cats do not like going to the veterinarian for yearly shots and checkups. My cats seem to know that I am trying to catch them to take them to the vet. I put their back end in the cage first, then shut the door quickly so they could not escape their cell. If you try to put their head in the cage, first, you may get bitten or scratched up. Cats always seem to know what our intentions are, no matter how well we plan things as far as they are concerned.

My cats do like any changes in their dry cat food. When I put out new cat food, I mix the old with the fresh one. I have also put out a bowl of their old and fresh cat food for them.

Cats will get irked if you hold them longer than they want. Cats do not like it if they think another cat in your household is getting more attention than they are. I give each of my three cats cat treats so they know they are getting treated equally. I spend quality time with each one of my cats throughout the day to ensure they are happy cats.

Conrad My 8 to 5 Cat

I was supposed to have Conrad at my vet by 8:30 AM. I tried to catch Conrad at 7:30 AM, and he was nowhere to be found. I also saw Kohl at 7:45 AM as he needed a distemper shot. I went to my other house and caught Bella and Cali immediately.

I started looking for Conrad again. I went upstairs to the basement and could not find Conrad anywhere. I looked back at the furniture under furniture and on top of the table, and still, no Conrad to be seen.

I took the three cats I could catch to my vet for their shots. I told him I could not find Conrad. I tried to locate Conrad when I got home, but he was still nowhere to be seen. Kohl sat on my lap after we got home from the vet. I read a history book for a while and then looked for Conrad again. It was 1:30 PM by now. I picked up a few items in town. I visited some people in the Rest Home.

I went outside and got some of my yard equipment ready to go. I cleaned out my cat litter boxes for the second time. I tilled my garden, and I planted some seed potatoes. I returned to the house and looked for Conrad again, and could not find him anywhere; it was 4 PM by now.

At precisely 5 PM, Conrad appeared out of the blue and looked at me like what are you going to do now, lady? The vet’s office is closed for the day. I swear Conrad can tell time somehow, and he is genuinely my 8 to 5 cat.

We will go to the vet next week, and Conrad will be surprised. I will catch him at 6 AM. I will store the cage in the room where I will see him three days before our vet appointment. I hope you and your cat are on time for your next vet appointment.

I caught Conrad this morning after he complained to me and hid under my bed for a while. He hid on the back of a card table, and I could grab him by the nap of his neck and put him in my cat carrier. I called my vet, and we got right in. Conrad got his distemper shot and his worm medicine. Conrad decided his visit to the vet was not that bad after all. Conrad rode in the front of my vehicle, where he could keep an eye on me while I drove. Conrad said the visit to the vet was worth all of his trouble in the long run as it would hopefully keep him in excellent health.

I was blindfolded once for a class assignment. My Mother leads me around the farm with my blindfold on. With my blindfold, I identified each of my outdoor cats by their particular meow. I handed in my report, which my teacher read out loud to all my high-class junior students. The students did not believe I could identify my cats by their meows, except for one girl in my class who had a cat and was thoroughly familiar with cats’ different sounds and pitches in their meows. I received an A on my written assignment.

You can tell if your cat is sick sometimes by his meow. Sometimes their meow will sound weak and soft instead of their usual high-pitched meow. Your cat may have a sad face and eyes as if to say help me; I am not feeling well. A healthy cat usually holds its tail up high. A sickly cat will walk around with its tail drooping or straight down. A cat that does not feel good may cough or have runny eyes and dirty inner ears.

If your cat smells something he does not like, he will wrinkle up his nose as if to say my, that is disgusting. You are better clean that up right now, my human friend. Cats sometimes smell each other and make an awful face as if to tell the other cat you better clean yourself next time, buddy.

Cats like to rub against you to put their scent on you and claim you as their own. Some of my cats want to sleep as close as possible to me in bed at night to stay extra warm and toasty. You can generally tell what your cat thinks of his meows, facial expressions, and tones and pitches in his meows.

Anxiety and Your Cat

My cats get overly anxious when I go on a vacation. My cats may stop eating or throw up what they have eaten. I put my suitcase out so my cats can look at it several days before I leave on my vacation. My cats can get used to the fact slowly by seeing my suitcase sitting out that I will be going soon. Cats do not like any changes whatsoever in their daily routine. I wear some of my clothing to sit out so my cats can curl up. Cats feel more at ease when they have something with your scent to sleep on or smell.

Having a new kitten in the household will make your older cats anxious; make sure you spend much time with them so they do not feel left out or think you do not love them anymore. Give your cat some special cat treats or tuna canned in water, making them feel extra special.

I have someone check on my cats every day on vacation. My cats are given fresh water every day for optimal health. Their food dishes are kept whole, and their litter boxes are cleaned daily. My cats have nice clean towels to sleep on while I am gone or my bed or heated cat beds.

Cats like to play with catnip-filled mice and other cat toys while you are gone, which helps them relax. My cats like to bird watch through my picture window. Put something out to help your cat occupy his day while you are on vacation. I have plenty of cat toys in my cat’s open toy box for them to choose from so they will not get bored while I am gone.

A stray cat came to a friend’s house. She was very friendly, and she sat on their lap. She would gently rub across their legs. They gave her to me, and I named her Faith because I have Faith that she will get better. She could not keep any food down for about five days. She must have kept a small amount of the tuna and salmon I was feeding her. She had healthy-looking bowel movements. I was very concerned for her. My friends said that they would pay my vet bill. I took her to my vet to be tested for feline leukemia; luckily, that test returned negative. She also had a whole battery of blood tests. I have not yet received the test results since it takes one week to process them.

I had been feeding her the same dry cat food my other cats eat. She was so thin and emaciated that her stomach could not digest foods right from lack of food over a long period. I went to a pet store, and they suggested feeding her grain-free cat food. Faith has been able to keep all of her food down now. Her grain-free cat food is free from dyes and preservatives, and her stomach can digest it without any trouble. My vet said to keep on feeding her grain-free cat food.

I am sure she used to be a house cat someone no longer wanted or could not afford to keep. My vet said she was one year old. I had guessed her age to be about six months old. Poor Faith had to fend for herself for who knows how long. Faith would have starved to death had it not been for people intervening. As good stewards, we are to care for all of God’s crGod’sre,s tremendous and trim. I have Faith that Faith’s blood test will be OK and that I can provide her the loving home she desperately needs. Always have Faith.

Faith has now recovered from her ordeal. She has gained weight and has not vomited for over a month. With Faith, all things are possible. Faith has to be only the size of a mustard seed but can have huge rewards. Never lose Faith that things will get better.

Kohl and his Cyst Removal

I took Kohl to one of my vets because he had a large cyst above his left eye. My vet said he could not remove the cyst, which would keep getting more significant. The cyst would get so large that Kohl could not open his left eye eventually. My vet gave him an antibiotic shot. The shot did not help the cyst get smaller.

A friend said to take Kohl to a different vet for a second opinion. I am sure glad I listed to her sage advice. I took Kohl to another one of my vets. My vet said he could remove the cyst. I was able to pick Kohl up from my vet yet that afternoon. I had him sleep next to me in a cage all night long so I could keep an eye on him and make sure he got along fine in the night after his surgery.

The cyst remained swollen for several days. Kohl removed the glue that acted as the stitches. Kohl ate the bond with no side effects. The cyst drained more after Kohl pulled the glue and licked away at the area where the cyst used to be. The swelling in the cyst is about gone entirely now.

Kohl is in good spirits and is very active again and playing with his cat toys. Kohl has a good appetite, and all is well in his World again. Kohl is eight and one half years old. He is sitting in my picture window watching the birds eat out of my bird feeders.

Always remember to get a second opinion on your pet’s health, just as we humans need a second opinion. If you do not get a second opinion quickly and efficiently, it might be life or death.

If my cats eat too quickly, they will throw up. Garfunkel eats very fast, and therefore, he throws up now and then. If your cat eats a new food that does not agree with him, he will be sick. Garfunkel had a blood test at the beginning of 2023 since he had lost weight. He was diagnosed with IBD in 2023, an irritable bowel disease for which he takes a pill.

My outdoor cats love to eat grass when I let them outside for a while. By eating the gra, ss they will generally get rid of a hairball. If you do not groom your cats often enough, they will throw up a hairball occasionally. Cats need to be groomed more often in the spring and summer since they are losing their winter hair coats.

Do not feed your cat too much in one single day. If we overeat in one day, we do not feel too great either. Do not give your cat a can of cat food, cat treats, and regular dry cat food in one day, as it will be too much for his stomach to handle.

If your cat is nervous or upset about something, he may throw up. When I leave on vacation, my cats throw up for a few days because I am gone, and they feel uncomfortable having someone else take care of them.

Cats do not like any change in their daily life whatsoever. A new piece of furniture or a new house cat could cause their stomach to be upset. A house guest can make your cat feel nervous and uncomfortable. Moving into a new home will cause your cat to be timid and anxious. Your cat will not have any familiar scents in his new home or territory. We teenagers also when we move to a new location. We wonder if r we will find a new job and make new friends quickly.

If your cat throws up over several da, take him to your veterinarian AS, AP, as he may have a severe medical condition.

You should always deworm your cat, even if he is an indoor cat. Worm your cat preventatively according to your vet’s instructions.

Your cat can get different worms: tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms.

Heavy infestations of worms can cause intestinal bleeding and anemia. In a kitten, many parasites in its body can be fatal. Roundworms are more common in kittens than in adult cats. Adult cats are pretty often infested with tapeworms. If a cat is stressed by trauma or disease, she is more likely to get worms. Fleas can cause your cat to get worms.

Your cat can get worms by eating infested mice and infested raw meat. Your cat may develop Toxoplasma. Toxoplasmosis can be spread from the mother cat to her kitten.

Pregnant women should not clean out litter boxes. It is straightforward for them to get toxoplasmosis from the infested bowel movements in the cat litter.

Here are some signs to look for that your cat may have worms. Your cat’s fur will look dull and unkempt. Your cat may start sliding its bottom across your floor. Your cat will become lethargic. You will notice that he is losing weight. Your cat will want to nap more than usual.

Try to worm your cats twice a year or more if you suspect they may have worms. You can buy a liquid dewormer to pour over your cat food if you have a farm cat that is hard to catch. You can also mix some dewormer in tuna with water for a cat that is hard to administer.

Your cat will be much healthier if you always remember to have him dewormed. He will also have a shiny and healthy-looking coat of fur. I hope your cat is feeling well.
