What Not To Give Your Cat For Christmas

What Not To Give Your Cat For Christmas

Do not let your cat eat any poinsettia leaves or any part of the plant. Your cat will most likely be unable to meow for about one week. Mistletoe will kill a cat if they ingest it. Chocolate will also destroy your cat if they eat any of it. Please do not feed your cats any bones; they could get lodged in their throat or cut their esophagus. Please do not feed your cat as many table scraps as he could throw up or get horrible diarrhea. I only give my cats a few little turkey pieces at Christmas.

I do not put up a Christmas tree since I have house cats. Cats can drink the water under the tree, and some water has been treated with chemicals that keep your tree looking better longer but will kill your house cat if they drink that water. Tinsels will get lodged in your cat’s stomach or digestive system if they play with it and then eat it. Cats can chew on Christmas lights, bulbs, and more which could harm or kill them.

Give toys to your cats with no eyes or anything they could pull off and eat, as they could choke to death. Give your cat toys made for cats to be on the safe side. Never let your cats play with plastic bags, as they could quickly smother to the end. Throw wrapping paper in the garbage soon, along with ribbons and strings. Strings are hard to remove from your cat’s mouth and might be ingested to where your cat would need surgery to draw the downed line.

As you clean your home for Christmas gatherings, remember to put away your cleaning supplies ASAP so your cat will not get poisoned by you because you got into too much of a hurry trying to get ready for Christmas. I hope you and your cats have a Merry, safe Christmas this year and forever more.

Cosmic Catnip Double Wide Cat Scratcher From Chewy.Com

Cosmic Catnip Double Wide Cat Scratcher From Chewy.Com

I was provided the Cosmic Catnip Double Wide Cat Scratcher from Chewy.Com to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100% honest and my own.

I placed the catnip on the scratcher, and Cali went wild for it. She scratched and scratched away at it even though she was declawed, then laid down on it to claim it as her own. Russ fell in love with it after Cali left for a little while. Cali wanted to claim the cat scratcher for her very own. My cat’s next door watched Cali hoping they would get their turn to try it out soon.

The Cosmic Catnip double-wide cat scratcher is made in the USA. Their catnip is North American grown. A cat scratcher helps save furniture, helps groom claws, and is a good place for your cat to exercise. A cat can work off his frustrations and stress with a cat scratcher.

My cats have been scratching at the  Comic Catnip Double Wide Cat Scratcher from Chewy.Com. They love to paw away at the cat scratcher and lay on it as a bed with the alluring smell of fresh, dried catnip. A happy cat is a content cat. The cat scratcher relaxes my cats and helps them shed their old claws. My cats do not claw away at my window sills when a cat scratcher is in my house.

I love that I can turn the Comic Catnip Cat Scratcher over when the side gets worn out. They have supplied a lot of fresh, dried catnip to spread on the cat scratcher to keep your cat’s peak interest in the cat scratcher. My cat’s next door love to have a place to sharpen their claws, paw away at the catnip, or have a relaxing afternoon catnap. I hope you are your cat is content and happy.

Pet Safe Scoop Free Self - Cleaning Litter Box From Chewy.Com

Pet Safe Scoop Free Self – Cleaning Litter Box From Chewy.Com

I was provided a Pet Safe Scoop Free Self-Cleaning Litter Box from Chewy.Com to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100 % honest and my own.

The Pet Safe litter box is as easy as pie to assemble. All you have to do is remove some packaging tape and put the loose cardboard leak-proof tray under the litter box until you hear the magnets snap together, add the original crystal litter that is included and plug it in.

My cat Kohl immediately sniffed at the new litter box, and Garfunk, el looked it over. I left my two old litter boxes next to it until I noticed they had started using the new litter box about 11 hours after set up. I took one old litter box away completely. My house cats now use the Pet Safe litter box constantly. I am very impressed with the Pet Safe litter box. The litter box is very quiet, and the used crystal litter has no smell.

The Pet Safe Scoop Free Self-Cleaning Litter Box from Chewy.Com self-cleans for weeks, and you never have to touch or see dirty litter again. The litter box has a stainless steel rake. The Pet Safe litter box has a waste trap that covers and locks away the waste and odor. Some sensors let it know when your cat has left the litter box and throws the trash in the cardboard tray after leaving the TV for 20 minutes. The cleanup is a breeze as the waste is entirely disposable with a leak-proof tray with a lid that you can seal with tape and throw into your garbage.

You can buy three-pack litter containers and disposable cat litter trays for the Pet Safe Litter box from Chewy.Com. You can also purchase a reusable litter box tray & blue crystal cat litter if you prefer that method. The litter tray will last 30 days for one cat, 20 days for two cats, and ten days for a three-cat household. I have three cats and a disposable litter tray that I have used for 12 days, and it still smells lovely in my house. A picture of the Pet Safe Scoop Free Self-Cleaning litter Box from Chewy.Com after 12 days of use.

All three house cats now use the Pet Safe Scoop Free Self-Cleaning Litter Box from Chewy.Com. It is my absolute favorite self-cleaning litter box five times over. It operates quietly and efficiently, and no awful litter box smells or cleanup. Let’s face it we love our cats dearly but do not like to clean out the dirty litter box. The Pet Safe Scoop Free Self-Cleaning litter box does all the work for you, and you can spend more time with your loving dear feline friends. My cats and I spend much quality time together in an odor-free home.

Some Cat Hazards

Some Cat Hazards

Cats can get themselves into all kinds of predicaments. They say curiosity killed the cat, which can be a true statement regarding our feline friends. Cats are very adventurous and will try to attempt the impossible sometimes. As the old saying goes, cats do not always land on their feet.

Cats love eating house plants or flowers that may kill or make them sick. I do not keep any plants or flowers in my house. If someone gives me flowers, I put them in a room my cats cannot access. Cats can vomit, go into convulsions or die by eating leaves and flowers or drinking water with chemicals to preserve the flowers.

Keep antifreeze, oil, gas, and farm chemicals in closed containers so your cat will not suffer from a painful death by ingesting these substances into their body. Put mouse and rat poison in an enclosed trap so your farm cats cannot eat it and bleed—tight paint containers and cleaning supplies. Never leave your medicine sitting out, as a kitty could knock the bottle over, ingest your pills, and die. Keep all your household cleaners closed; your cat cannot assess in an area.

Ensure you have not locked your cat in a building where he could starve to death. Check under your car tires or your car’s motor if you do not happen to notice your cat. Many cats have gotten run over by accident or succumbed by the car motor or belts, or blades in your car.

Do not leave your house with just the screen in your window. Cats have clawed up the screens or pushed against them so hard the screen gave away, and their cat fell out of a high-story building. A house cat does not stand much of a change if it gets outdoors as it does not know how to fend for itself and all the dangers that lurk outdoors.

I hope you and your cat stay safe and sound for many years to come and create many perfect memories throughout your years together.

Swheat Scoop Premium Natural Cat Litter From Chewy.Com

Swheat Scoop Premium Natural Cat Litter From Chewy.Com

I was provided Swheat Scoop Premium Cat Litter From Chewy.Com to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100 % honest and my own.

I placed the Swheat cat litter in two litter boxes next door. I have five litter boxes in the house. In the first four hours, my cats had used both litter boxes containing the Swheat Scoop Premium Natural Cat Litter from Chewy.Com. I returned to the home in the evening, and both litter boxes were heavily used. The used litter clumps held together well and were quickly removed from the litter boxes.

Sweat Natural cat litter is made from 100 % biodegradable wheat with exclusive Noble Ion technology to stop litter box odors. There are no harmful ingredients, dust, dyes, or perfume; it is three times more potent for odor elimination and clumping. It is made in the USA by Pet Care Systems.

I saw Peter running out of the Swheat cat litter box this morning. Faith then proceeded to use the same litter box as Peter did. Cali made her deposit right after I cleaned all the cat litter boxes. Mr. Gray licks my hand when I have cleaned out the litter boxes.

My cat’s next door use their new cat litter with no problems. When I clean the debris boxes, Cali and Mr. Gray deposit the Swheat Natural cat litter. The waste does not cut their paws, and it is easy for my cats to cover up their deposits. The kitty litter smells like wheat and retains its pleasant smell of wheat even after my cats have done their business. I love that the Swheat Scoop Premium Natural Cat Litter from Chewy.Com does not harm our environment because it is natural and biodegradable. I just ordered four more bags of Swheat Cat Litter from Chewy.Com.

Tips To Help Your Cat Survive The Heat This Summer

Tips To Help Your Cat Survive The Heat This Summer

Provide your cat with plenty of fresh cold water. The water will get hot in a hurry when it is hot out, and no one wants to drink hot water when it is unbearably hot outside. Find a place for your cat to sleep outside that is in a cool place with a nice gentle breeze. I check on my cats several times daily to ensure they are doing OK with the unbearable heat. Ensure you have combed out your cat’s old winter coats of fur, as they will feel more relaxed without the old hair heating their body. I have a fan running in my other house for my cats. Ensure you have not locked your cat in a building after performing an outdoor task such as mowing the yard. Cats are fast and love to sneak into places even when you think you are watching out for them.

Clean your cat’s litter box out every day to prevent fleas. I sweep around the litter boxes daily so there is no cat litter on the floor which helps prevent a flea infestation. I also clean out the litter boxes with dish soap and an old scrub brush before the summer season begins.

Never leave your cat in your vehicle in the summer months, as it can reach 173 degrees in your car in 30 minutes when it is 80 to 100 degrees outside, even with the windows open. Your cat will most likely die if left in a car in the summer. Do not let your indoor cat out in the heat. Your indoor cat is used to AC and does not know where to go in the heat to stay cooler.

If your cat is panting, has a rapid pulse and breathing, is vomiting, is passive, and stumbling, she is overheated and must be put in an excellent spot ASAP. Call your vet ASAP if you notice that your cat is overheated. Your cat may stagger around as she walks or pass out, which means she is critical. If you doubt the state of your cats’ well-being, call your vet ASAP.

I hope you and your cat survive the heat and have a fantastic, fun-filled summer.

My House Cats In The Springtime

My House Cats In The Springtime

My house cats start to shed their winter coat. I brush and comb out their hair regularly to eliminate hairballs and snarls in their hair. Some of my cats get a spring or waterless shampoo bath. Some long-haired cats must have matted areas in their fur cut out. I like to take my cats to a vet if they have a matted fur problem since they are professionals at removing matted areas of skin on cats.

My house enjoys eating fresh catnip and watching the various varieties of birds through the picture window. My cats will chatter away at the birds they are watching as if to say you would make a delicious appetizer if I could only get out to catch you. My cats spend much of their day watching and drooling over the birds they can see from the various windows in my house.

My cats are more energetic and playful in the spring than in winter. They love to chase each other up and down the stairs. My cats play more with their catnip stuffed toys and their cat ball and mouse game. My cats now sleep on top of their Meowfia Cat Caves. My cats now occupy my chairs, and their heated beds are abandoned until winter rolls around again.

Springtime is an excellent time to clean cat bedding and sterilize water bowls and food dishes. I scrubbed up their litter boxes and the floor where the litter box sets. I use a floor cleaner that sanitizes and sterilizes as this will prevent fleas from the cat litter. Please do not set your cat on the grass, as they can get fleas this way. Put your cat in a cage on cement or a cat tent on top of a deck. You do not want fleas in your house. Fleas will bite you, and all of your pets will have fleas. Getting rid of a flea infestation will cost much money, and you and your pets will be very uncomfortable.

I hope you and your pets have a happy and healthy spring.

Ear Cancer

Ear Cancer

I had a beautiful Calico cat by the name of Champagne. Champagne was one of my outdoor cats. She was always an amiable and outgoing cat. She would follow me out to my garden. She would roll in the dirt while I planted my garden.

She and my dog Jitters were good friends and would go out hunting together. My goat Zachary would tag along with them. He would eat leftover corn in the field while they hunted for mice.

Champagne had many lovely kittens over the years. As a house cat, I took one of her tuxedo kittens into my house. I named him Sylvester. I had Sylvester for about one year. I let him outside briefly on one warm summer day. A wild animal came along and killed him. I missed him very much. I never let any indoor cats out after that happened.

I started to notice a growth in Champagne’s ear. I treated it with ear drops to no avail. The development kept getting more significant. She began to shake her head. When she would shake her head, blood would fly out of her ear.

I took her to my vet, who diagnosed her with ear cancer. He said she could live for another six months without pain. She seemed to get along reasonably well for at least five months. More and more blood would come out of her ear.

I did not want to see her suffer, so I had her put down. It is hard to watch a dear pet go downhill. She is now in heaven with all my other cats who have passed on. They have all crossed the rainbow pet bridge and entered pet heaven.

I  hope none of your cats ever get ear cancer.

Lung Cancer and Your Cat

Lung Cancer and Your Cat

My cat Sebastian died from lung cancer.

He was always a playful kitten. He was born on my farm. Sebastian was an outdoor kitten, to begin with. He would get under one’s feet as a kitten. He was brilliant about staying away from cars. The weather was getting colder, and he would meow by my back door. I gave in and let him in my house and decided to have three house cats.

On his first night in the house, he gathered up all of the toy mice and placed them in a neat, orderly row. I bathed him, and he enjoyed having a bath.

He was pretty healthy and would play with my other cats. He would walk along and balance on the narrowest part of the window. Sebastian was quite the athlete.

Sebastian started to get asthma, or at least that’s what I thought it was. He was about eleven years old a the time. My vet gave him some shots, which seemed to help. I noticed he seemed to be losing weight. I took him back to my vet. My vet took X – Rays and saw a large mass on one of his lungs.

Sebastian ate OK  and was not in pain. As time passed, his fur was r,d he would lay around more. One day he was resting on my steps and seemed in pain.

I called my vet and made an appointment to have Sebastian put to sleep. I had a burial box with me. I put some cat toys and a towel to cover him in the box. Sebastian lived to be thirteen years old.

I took him home and buried him. It was a sad day for me. I was heartbroken for some time.

One must never forget to do what is best for your pet. I do not want to see any beloved pet suffer in pain. You will miss your pet terribly but remember he is no longer in pain. Remember all of the fun times you had together.

Why Did My Mother Cat Abandon Her Kittens ?

Why Did My Mother Cat Abandon Her Kittens ?

A first-time mother cat may abandon her kittens because she has not yet learned how to care for them. Most of my cats have always cared for their kittens by the time they are two years old.

I have had a mother cats carry one kitten away. A mother cat will carry a sickly kitten away and abandon it to save the rest of her healthy litter of kittens. I have tried to put the kitten she has carried off back with the other kittens. Most of the time, the kitten that I put back has died.

A mother cat naturally knows if one of her kittens is sick and will not make it. I have had mother cats move all of their kittens except one kitten. They moved the healthy kittens to a different building with an area that had clean straws.

Mother cats may abandon all of their kittens if they are not feeling well. Your cat may not produce enough milk to feed her kittens.

If your mother cat gets frightened by strange people or wild animals entering the area where her kittens are, she may abandon them. Cats do not like any sudden changes in their environment or their surroundings. Try to keep strangers away from a mother cat and her kittens, as this may upset her terribly.

A mother cat always tries to care for her kittens to the best of her ability. She will naturally abandon one that is sickly. She does not want the disease that one kitten has to spread to her healthy kittens and kill them off by the disease entering their bodies. Mother cats are very protective of their young.

Next time you see a mother cat abandoning a kitten, you will know she has a good reason for doing so.
