Transporting Your Cat Safely

Transporting Your Cat Safely

Transporting your cat can be a significant problem if not done correctly. Buy a cat carrier that is not easy for your cat to get out of. Cat carriers with cheap zippers are no good. If your cat squirms and pushes his head against the zipper, he can get out and maybe get under your feet while you are trying to drive.

I like cat carriers that are of solid construction or ones that have sturdy zippers. Make sure the doors of your page are latched properly once your cat is in the airline, and also make sure the screws are tight that hold the carrier together.

Never wrap your cat in a towel and think he will not escape you. Any cat in an unfamiliar area is extra nervous and will try to run your arms immediately. A vet once told me a lady had her cat in a towel, and it ran and hid by the school in that area. After looking for several hours, she finally found her cat, and her vet let her borrow one of his cages. Her cat could have run onto a busy highway in that area and gotten run over. She was lucky that her cat lived to tell his tale of momentary escape.

I do not turn on the radio while transporting one of my cats. Cats do not like loud music, which could stress them out more than they already are. The speakers in most cars are where your cat would be sitting. Therefore, the music would be extra loud with their keen sense of hearing.

Talk to your cat while traveling with him; your familiar voice will help calm him down. Put a few of his favorite toys in the cage. Place a couple of cat treats in the cell, also. If your cat is extra nervous or hyperventilating, spray some Pheromone spray for cats that helps calm them down on a piece of cloth and place it in the cage with your cat.

I hope you and your cat have safe travels and visits to your local vet for many years.

Why We Are Drawn To Cats

Why We Are Drawn To Cats

Cats’ facial features mimic a human baby, so we find them very appealing. Cats keep the rodent population down and protect us from diseases the rodents spread. They sit on our laps, purring away, licking our fingers, or rubbing against us. Having a feline friend reduces your blood pressure and helps reduce your stress also. Cats look at us lovingly, blink their eyes, and roll over on their backs for belly rubs. When a cat rolls over on his back, he shows you that he trusts you 100 %.

Cats Know Their Names

Cats do know their names. Cats only choose to come to us when they feel like coming to us. Research published in a nature magazine suggests that 78 cats out of 78 cats knew their name. Cats are very independent creatures and cope better at being alone than a dog.

Cats Improve Your Sleep

Sleeping with your cats can improve your sleep. People who let their cats sleep with them at night tend to fall asleep faster. You keep your cat warm in bed, and he keeps you warm. Your cat’s breathing pattern reduces stress, and you feel at ease and relaxed.

Cats Like Us

You give your cat food and shelter; his instincts make him want to be your pal. Cats follow us because they like us and want to know where we are when they feel hungry. Are cats rubbing against our faces because they want to put their scent on us? Their scent warns other cats that we already have a feline friend and that the new cat should back off.

Cats Are Relaxing To Watch

Just watching a cat play or rest is very relaxing. Your cat is at peace, and therefore, you are at ease, also. Cats are very entertaining—some things your cat does seem almost unbelievable. I had a pool table at once, and my Siamese cat would watch the balls roll into the pockets. She seemed to know almost before I did if the ball would make it into the bag. Cats feel comfortable and safe in small spaces. I had a cat hiding in a box of Christmas decorations, and it took me a long time before I discovered her hiding spot. My Grandmother had a cat that hid in a shoe box, and the lid remained perfectly on top of the shoe box. A friend of hers discovered her cat’s hiding spot.

Living With A Cat Can Give You Nine Lives

I love holding my cats and patting them on top of their heads. I lavish them with toys, heated beds, water bowls, cat treats, and all the affection they can handle. I take them to the vet for their annual checkups and necessary shots. I want my cats to live long, happy, and healthy life. Cats ad to the spice of life. I am sure having cats in my life gives me nine lives, also. My feline friends all have different and pleasing personalities. Curl up with your cat on your lap and think how you have blessed each other with your presence in each other’s life.

What I Look For In A Cat

What I Look For In A Cat

I am looking for a cat that is nice and clean. Their eyes should be clear and bright, fur clean, clean the hind end, and the tail should be up as these are signs of a healthy cat. The cat should be calm, not hyper, and have an easygoing personality. A cat that tries to nip and bite will probably present that same kind of behavior now and then for the rest of its life.

The cat’s fur should not be matted or dirty. Their faces should not be clawed up, as this shows they like to get in a catfight every so often. I lift a paw to see if they might tolerate having their claws trimmed. I place the cat on my lap to see if they like being held and petting. I also put a finger near their mouth to see if they want to try to bite me.

Is the cat you are thinking of adopting outgoing and exploring his surroundings? A listless cat is probably sick. Has a vet checked the cat to ensure it does not have feline leukemia or other cat diseases? Cat diseases can spread quickly to your other house cats if their shots are not current.

Different breeds of cats have different personalities. Do you want a laid-back cat or a very outgoing cat? Read up on the other cat breeds to see which species would work best for your household. I like cats with part Siamese, Persian, and domestic short hair, as this blend seems to be my best combination.

My cat Kohl is an effortless going cat. Garfunkel is an excellent lap cat. Conrad is a one-person cat, and I am lucky he choose me for his person. Russ is a very tame and friendly cat. I have fourteen cats, all of which have unique and interesting personalities.

I hope you and your new feline friend have at least nine lives together and more.

Jitters And Tabatha

The Adventures Of Zachary, Jitters and Tabatha

I purchased Zachary, my pet goat, from a party that raised goats in Thornton, Iowa. He came to live with me as a very young goat. I put him in a building with two cats because I wanted him to get along with them.

We had a dog that was a part miniature lab, a dachshund, and a rat terrier, and her name was Jitters. Jitters and Zachary got along well together. Jitter was a brilliant small dog. She won every prize at a dog show at TSC except for one tip. A puppy won that prize. She would jump into my father’s arms on command, shake hands, and roll over; she loved cats.

My cat Tabatha had her kittens in Jitter’s dog house, and when she left for a while, Jitters was the head babysitter. She watched over those kittens as if they were her offspring. The kittens would come running out of the dog house in the morning, followed by Tabatha and Jitters.

Zachary would jump on our windowsills and look at us while preparing breakfast in the morning. Jitters and Tabatha would be waiting for their fried eggs, oatmeal, and regular morning food. Where one went, they would all go.

When Zach was very young, the two kittens he grew up with the thought, let’s play a trick on the goat. They left him in the cornfield by himself. My Father and I found him in short order as we heard him bleating in the area, and he rode home with us in the pickup. We could not find Zach at one time. He was quick, and he sneaked into our house. We kept calling him outdoors to no avail. We went into our home, and he was standing in the middle of the living room, and luckily, nothing was damaged or soiled.

They would all go out hunting together. Tabatha and Jitters would stay in the ditch and hunt for mice. Zachary would veer off into the cornfield and eat the ear corn left behind by the combine. One time Jitters caught a mouse, and Tabatha got it away from her. Tabatha tried to get her kittens to eat it, but they were too young yet to know what to do with it. Jitters got her mouse back and had her appetizer for the day.

Once they got on the blacktop by my place, a lovely woman herded them back to my site. She got out of her car and said I assume this is where they live I said yes and thanked her. However, she did not herd Tabatha because you can never herd a cat. Tabatha came back all on her own.

Zachary and Tabatha, and Jitters had many fun adventures together. They were beautiful and loving pets. Tabatha lived to be seven years old. Jitters lived to 14 years old. Zachary lived to be 16.3 years old. I am sure they are having fun adventures in heaven. God Bless our beloved pets.

Different Cat Personalities

Different Cat Personalities

Siamese cats are very outgoing and very talkative. A purebred Siamese has a very high-pitched meow. Sometimes they are one-person cats and do not do well with strangers. I had a purebred Siamese, and she liked to jump on strangers’ heads. Siamese cats were trained to jump on people’s heads years ago. They were kind of like a small dog guard for the family. My cat Sebastian saw a man walking down my road at night, and he let out a meow or wail that could wake the dead. I pulled my shade down and thanked Sebastian for his heroic effort.

Himalayan cats are very quiet and never seem to meow much at all. They are very loving and kind and need a lot of grooming with their long hair. A Himalayan is a cross between a Persian and a Siamese cat. Persians have a short stubby noses and tend to be on the quiet side.

Rex cats do not shed, and they have curly hair or no hair at all. Some of the hairless cats are pretty long and resemble a Siamese cat that would have no hair. Hairless cats have a short life expectancy compared to other cat breeds.

I saw two Manx cats on the Isle of Man, where they originated. They were long and had no tails. They were very friendly and outgoing. They tend to have health problems because they do not have a seat.

They are many more exciting and various breeds of cats to consider bringing into your household. Ecat seems to have a distinctive and compelling personality that differentiates it from other cats or species.

All of the cats I have now are domestic short hairs, a combination of other breeds of cats. My cats are part domestic short hair, Siamese, Persian, Himalayan, and Maine Coon. Most of my cats have a lot of Siamese and Himalayan in their genetic makeup. I had a purebred Maine Coon cat when I was six years old, and she lived until I was sixteen. About forty years later, I had a male cat born on my farm that looked identical to her.

My domestic short hair cats have lived to be eighteen years old. They are easy-going and friendly, and very loving cats. My cats are lovely and caring companions. I hope you and your cats have a lifetime of friendship and many years together.

Should I Have a Male or a Female Cat ?

Should I Have a Male or a Female Cat ?

I have had both male and female cats over the years. There is not a lot of difference between the two sexes.

Male cats seem to put up with more than female cats will. A male cat will let you hold him longer. Neutered Toms are very gentle and loving. Male cats that are not neutered may spray your furniture. My male cats have always seemed more relaxed and easygoing than the females. My male cats do not seem to live as long as my female cats.

Female cats are gentle but are not as tolerant as male cats. Female cats like to be held on their terms. A female cat prefers to jump on your lap instead then you picking her up and putting her on your lap. She will lay on your lap for a short period. My female cats do not like to be brushed for a long time. They want their grooming to be over very quickly.

Both male and female cats love to play with cat toys. Both sexes of cats love to be patted on their head and scratched under the chin. Males and females love to snuggle up in bed with you—both male and female cats like a warm and cozy place for their afternoon naps. Male or female cats will give you a lot of joy and love.

I have had many male and female cats in my lifetime. The male and female cats have given me great joy over the years. Either sex of cat that you choose will love you the same.

Whatever sex of cat you choose, you will have a companion that will give you great joy and love for many years.

For The Love Of Cats

For The Love Of Cats

I have loved cats since I met my first cat Flossie in my stroller. My farm cats have always followed me all over our farm. They would wait with me in the morning while I waited for my school bus. My cats would sit next to me while I read a book outside. For a school assignment, I had to have someone lead me around blindfolded, and I was able to identify each one of my cats by their particular meow. I got an A on that assignment.

I have adopted many cats over the years, and they have been excellent, kind, and loving. Many of the cats I have adopted have become my house cats. I have adopted Siamese cats, domestic short hair, Persian, and a Russian Blue cat. I have adopted cats from restaurants, their former owner, businesses, a kennel, and my veterinarian. Each cat that I have adopted has unique qualities and character.

I have doctored many cats back to health, and most were very appreciative. Some of my cat patients have taken off again after their recovery. They did not realize that the medicine that I had them take had saved their lives. They thought I was a mean person that fed them a terrible-tasting liquid mixture, gave them a shot, or had them swallow a nasty pill. My intentions were well, but they did not realize that.

I have loved and adored cats since my baby years. I would be lost without the companionship of a Dear sweet cat. They sleep in my bed with me a night and awaken with me in the morning. They start their day with a clean litter box, water, and a dish full of dry cat food. They get cat treats, play with cat toys, and hold onto my lap, and I pat them on their head. They love to watch birds from my picture window. Life is perfect with your loving, compassionate, and caring cat in your life.

Th Story of a Very Petite Young Black Cat

The Story of a Very Petite Young Black Cat

I had a very petite and tiny black kitten born on my farm. She would follow my Father and me all over the farm. She would do the same thing if someone came to visit us. She was always underfoot, and we were afraid we would accidentally step on her and kill her. She was a very kind and loving little female kitten. She knew enough to stay away from cars and farm machinery. If I tried to run so she could not catch up with me, it did not work. The minute I turned around, she was right there, johnny on the spot.

Conrad

She would eat a fair amount of cat food, but she never seemed to grow. I thought she would always remain tiny for her age. She was very healthy and could run like the wind. She had her rabies and distemper shots and checked out fine with my vet. I think our dog got a little annoyed with her sometimes because she would also follow our dog all around the farm when we were in the house.

I put an ad in our local newspaper under giveaways. I feared someone would eventually step on her and kill her by accident. A lovely young couple answered my ad. I told the couple she was tiny and would probably stay that way for the rest of her life. The couple came out to our farm and fell in love with her the minute they saw her. I asked for their name and phone number so I could check up on her later.

I waited about a year before I called the young couple and asked them how the kitten was coming along. They told me that she turned out to be a sizeable female cat and that they loved her so much they got another cat to keep her company. I was glad my young cat found an excellent and loving home.

Scoop Away Complete Scoop Cat Litter From Chewy.Com

Scoop Away Complete Scoop Cat Litter From Chewy.Com

I was provided Scoop Away Complete Scoop Cat litter From Chewy.Com to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100 % honest and my own.

I placed the Scoop Away dust-free and ten-day odor-free cat litter in a clean litter box for my cats. Cali immediately made a deposit. I left out their old cat litter so they could gradually get used to the new waste. Russ also deposited before I left the house. I like that the Scoop Away cat litter is dust- and odor-free. Removing the used cat litter from the litter box was very easy. My cats used the new cat litter much more than their old cat litter brands. I like that the Scoop Away cat litter comes in a sturdy plastic bag instead of a box. It is much easier to move the plastic bag of cat litter around instead of a package where the handle eventually falls off.

My cats continue to use the Scoop Away Complete Cat Litter regularly. There is no overpowering smell to the cat litter. The cat litter has a lovely pleasant scent with no odor. The size of the cat litter pellets is perfect, and my cats dig it. My cats make many deposits to the litter box containing their new cat litter. The used Scoop Away, Complete cat litter has no smell that I can detect. Russ made a deposit right after I cleaned the used cat litter box. Russ is very meticulous.

My cat’s next door had no issues with the Scoop Away Complete Scoop Cat Litter from Chewy.Com. The consistency of Scoop Away Complete cat litter is just the perfect size for your cats to move around quickly and cover all their business.

Pet Safe Flik Automatic String Thrower To Excite Your Cat From Chewy.Com

Pet Safe Flik Automatic String Thrower To Excite Your Cat From Chewy.Com

I was provided a Pet Safe Flik Automatic teaser that throws a string to excite your cat from Chewy.Com to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100 % honest and my own.

Garfunkel loved catching the string as it automatically came out of the Pet Safe Flik string thrower. He played with it until a bird crashed into my window and upset him. Kohl would grab the string with his pads until he had to let go. Kohl also had the line in his mouth like he had caught a mouse or a rat. Kohl is eleven years old and acted like a young cat again as he played with the Pet Safe Flik automatic teaser throwing a string to excite you cat game from Chewy.Com.

With the Pet Safe Flik, you can watch your curious cat stalk Flik and try to capture the string before it hides again. Your cat will have much more fun with the Flik than with an ordinary line. The Flik takes three AA batteries to operate. Always supervise pets playing with pet toys. The Flik awakens your cat’s natural hunting instincts and is suitable for all ages of cats to play with. The Flik stimulates your cat and provides exercise for your cat also.

I placed the Pet Safe Flik from Chewy.ComĀ  in front of my cat Russ next door. Russ was very fascinated with the string that came out of the Flik. Russ grabbed the line between his paws several times and started holding the line in his mouth. Russ firmly gripped the rope between his teeth and started pulling the Flik across the Living Room floor. Russ let go and grabbed the line again with his pads. Pet Safe logo says Safe Pets – Happy Owners and protects, teaches and loves. My cats were very proud of themselves when they caught the string.
