Not Stopping Bad Behavior

Do you enable bad behavior by not stopping it or just ignoring it? If someone acts out in an inappropriate way, you should tell them and try to help them cope with the problem appropriately. Foul language shows a lack of intelligence for a better word. There is never a need to say four-letter words as they do not show any sign of spying on your part. Any fool can use foul language, but it takes someone with intelligence to use a better word that will have more meaning and be much more effective in making your point. I would fire someone that said foul language to my customers in my store. I would walk out of a business where it was alright for the employees to use offensive and uncouth language. If you see someone take something, tell them they have something not yet paid and see if they will make it right. If your child takes something from a friend’s house, store, or school,l tell him to apologize and return it to its rightful owner. If you do not correct lousy behavior quickly, it will become a severe crime later in life.

If Someone Has An Addiction

If you know someone with an eating disorder and leave their favorite foods in front of them, you are enabling them and harming their overall health. Anyone with an addiction needs counseling and a loving and caring family that will listen to them and not Judge them and help them with their daily struggles to stop their addiction. If someone you know is an alcoholic, do not drink liquor before them, as that is cruel and certainly will not help them. Any habit will need counseling and loving family and friends to help you stop your addiction before it stops you and possibly takes your life.

Do Not Enable People To Do The Wrong Thing

If someone is not punished for an evil act or crime, they will think they got away with it and move on to something more lucrative and will be more of a danger to society. Kids that play video games where they kill people are more prone to kill living people in real life. Please keep track of young children and monitor what they watch and do on the internet, as you want your children to grow up to be outstanding citizens who will make a positive and good impression on the world.

God And The Devil

God knows that we are not perfect by any means, and he will forgive us for our sins if we truly repent. God wants us to do the right thing and tries to lead us down the right path if we listen to his direction. The devil likes it if we run amuck and we do not care what our actions do in the lives of others, as he will have another follower. Stay away from the devil, for he will smash you into the ground just like a pebble. God is my redeemer, always there for me to keep me on the right path in my life that leads to salvation.

How To Close A Business Deal

How To Close A Business Deal

Negotiate Your Price

Know what other cars or houses, etc., are selling for. Research the item that you are negotiating carefully. Check several car dealers out and find out what they are asking. Check out consumer reports to determine if your purchased item has been recalled or has safety hazards. Now that you have researched the thing you wish to buy, you know what they are selling for. Talk to the store owner if possible, as they are easier to negotiate with than the salespeople are. Tell them the price you are willing to pay and know what others have sold for. You can save a lot of money by knowing your product and negotiating on a figure you can both live with. Have every little thing in writing, so you will buy what you think you will be purchasing, and then there will be no hidden surprises. I hope you seal the deal on the item you genuinely want and will enjoy for many years.

Buying A Home

Always remember the number one thing is location, location. Have it in writing that everything in the home is working, and if it is not, the owner will have to repair it before you even think about negotiating a deal. Have a qualified inspector inspect the home for termites, the roof, foundation, plumbing, electrical, etc. See what other homes that are similar to the one that you want to purchase are selling for. Ask if they will throw in the appliances or any furniture you may like on the deal. The roof and the foundation are the main components of any home because a house will not stand for long with a bad roof or no solid foundation. Make a lower offer on the home than you are willing to pay, as the owner has padded their asking price. You can always raise your request, but you can never lower it. Make your offer, and you will receive a counter offer most likely, and then you can make another offer and see what happens. I hope you can buy and be happy with your dream home for years.

Buying Items For Your Home

You can negotiate on appliances, furniture, new carpet, your new roof, etc. It never hurts to negotiate on prices because the worst thing that can happen is that they will say no. The money you save by negotiating can help you buy groceries and gas into a trip fund.

Buying Anything From A To Z

You can negotiate on tools, lawnmowers, large ticket items, and items purchased in large quantities. Antique dealers will generally lower their prices by 10 percent. If you go to the same paint store and paint a lot, you can get a contractor discount. Negotiating is fun, and you save money for things that you will need down the road, such as an unexpected repair bill or medical bills that may come up. Always negotiate within reason, so everyone is treated fairly.

When A Veil Of Sorrow Falls Over You

When A Veil Of Sorrow Falls Over You

When Someone You Love Has Life-Changing Events

It bothers us greatly when someone we love has health problems or is no longer the person they used to be because of health problems. We try to help them and comfort them the best that we can. Unfortunately, humans cannot allow our loved ones to overcome high hurdles. It is easy to let yourself be taken over by a veil of sorrow. We must remember to place our worries and concerns in God’s hands, for he knows what our loved ones need at this juncture. Call on your friend or family often and let them know that you love them and that they are in your thoughts and prayers.

When A Loved One Dies

A veil of sorrow will fall over you for a long time. You miss your Dear one greatly and do not know how you will survive without them by your side anymore. I miss my parents and dear friends that have gone on before me, and I will always cling to the beautiful memories we made together. A TV program may remind me of a particular event, and then I will cry. I love my Dear ones immensely, and when they are upset or hurt, I am greatly upset or hurt. Death will come to all of us eventually. Death is a part of life; if we repent from our sins, we will be with God and his angels in heaven. Death can be your enemy when you are young and your friend when you are old. If you are in constant pain or not in your right mind, death is your friend, for certain things are worse than death. We all have time to be born and time to die, and God will help us make the journey as smooth as possible.

Sometimes If  Certain Music Is Played Or We See Something, A Veil Of Sorrow Overtakes Us

A loved one’s birthday without them here anymore can make one cry. If you are married, your spouse has died, and you hear your song playing on the radio, you may break down for a while. Returning to the family farm and seeing it look different than you remember can be heart-wrenching, especially if all of the buildings are in a bad state of repair. Looking at old family pictures and remembering your good times together can upset one, knowing you will never live those good times again.

Life Is Full of Change

We must remember when some doors are closed forever, others will open eventually. Life and death go together, for we cannot have one without another. We cannot replace any of our friends who have passed on, but we can make some new friends if we try to do so. Please do not live in a veil of sorrow, for it will envelop and consume you. God knows that we will mourn our loved ones, but he wants us to live on and help each other in life’s journey until we take our last breath on earth and are with our savior again.

Growing Up In The Country

Growing Up In The Country

Growing Up As A Child In The Country

I loved watching our livestock, and I liked to help take care of their livestock. I had two little runt pigs that I took care of until we took them to market. My Father let me keep the money for my runt pigs that grew up to be strong and healthy. I put the money from my pigs in my savings acct. I loved to follow my grandfather around as he did the daily chores on the farm. I would watch him feed and water the livestock and anything else that needed to be done on the farm. I would protect my Father and grandfather, repair farm machinery and do repairs on our rental homes. After my grandfather died, I followed my Father around the farm. I would help him lay out shingles on the small portable hog buildings. We moved a sow to another facility, which was quite a process. We put her piglets in front of her to make the task easier. I would watch my grandmother planting flowers, and as she grew them, she would tell me the names of the flowers. I remember everyone gardening and putting up sweet corn for the long winter months ahead. I would watch our neighbor and my Father tears down farm machinery and walk behind lawnmowers. My mother worked as a librarian at our local library in town. My mother would drive the 560 tractors when we put up hay. As I grew older, I would help stack the hay bails and unload the grain wagons. I would watch the grain dryer to ensure no misfunctions could start a grain fire. I am so blessed that I grew up in the country, as there is so much for a child to see and learn while enjoying the great outdoors.

Living As An Adult In  The Country

I love mowing lawns and weed-whacking and maintaining farm buildings. I want to keep up the farm like my parents did, as I feel it is an honor to them. I love the fact that I can have 14 cats in the country. I have three house cats. I have 11 cats in another heated building. I love walking around the country without neighbors right next to me who may be bored and have nothing better to do than watch my outdoor activities. I have a garden, and I freeze vegetables I have picked or harvested. I see an occasional deer, wild turkey, fox, and other animals that drink out of my birdbath or eat the dropped bird seed from the bird feeders. I love watching cardinals, goldfinch, blue jay, morning Dove, woodpeckers, indigo buntings, and other birds. I like to lay in my hammock and read a good history book. Living and working in the country rejuvenates the soul. I helped my Father harvest corn years ago as I ran the 815 International combine. I enjoyed running that combine, filling the hopper, and unloading it into the grain wagons or trucks. My life on the farm has many happy and everlasting memories that I would never trade for anything in the World. God bless all the dedicated and hard-working farmers who help put food on our table every day.

The Power Of A Positive Outlook

The Power Of A Positive Outlook

Mind Over Matter

Think you can win, and you probably will win. If you believe you will not win, most likely, you will not. A negative attitude will drown you with negative thoughts, and you will have lost what could have been a productive and fulfilling day. I refuse to live with negative thoughts. I look at life and see the light in the day, not the darkness. Look at the sunrise and remember this is the day the lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. God wants us to embrace life and be productive, helpful, and kind to others. Being around people who never see positivity in anything is difficult. You try to help them by talking to them and cheering them up, but you seem to get nowhere. Never stop trying to help people that are down for they need your help desperately. Try to put a smile on someone’s face today and help them try to see the sunshine in their life.

If One Thing Does Not Work Move On

Some people get stuck on something that went wrong, keep dwelling on it, and miss out on life. Everyone will have some setbacks, but we must learn from them and advance to a better tomorrow. If you fail at one job, move on to another position where you may excel. Life has many bumps, but you can overcome them by talking to people and having faith in yourself. If you do not have confidence in yourself, no one else will either. Life is challenging, so be up for a good challenge and tell yourself I got this and can move onward.

People Want Positive Leaders

We will not follow someone that brings no positive vibes to the table. We want a strong and decisive leader who will not bow down when the going gets tough. A general will know the moves and maneuvers he has to have to win the war. He will know which men will be the ones that can help him accomplish his goal. A general with a positive outlook can and will bet the enemy in its tracks.

You Can Accomplish Much With A Positive Attitude

People do not want to be around others with a negative attitude. If you are around people like that, they also tend to bring you down; set a goal for yourself, and you will finally accomplish it if you tell yourself you can. Do not let anyone bring you down or try to suck your life out. Tell yourself I think I can and never say that I cannot do that when you know if you put your heart and soul into it, you can do it. You can be your own worst enemy sometimes, and you need to listen to your friends and ask God for guidance. Keep up the positive vibes.

Cats At The Top Of Their A Game

Cats At The Top Of There A Game

Excellent Mousers

I had an outdoor cat years ago that would catch at least two mice a day, and she would devour them or give them to her kittens for their snack of the day. I had a cat that would leave her catch of the day by our back door daily. I have a house cat that will drown mice in a water dish. I have three cats that will chase a mouse until it runs into the mouse trap and dies as the trap trips closed. At one time, I had a cat and dog that would hunt down mice together, and sometimes my dog got the spoils. Years ago, when we had lots of grain stored in open bins on the farm, our cats would catch at least seven mice daily. We had a lot of mice that would make the old chicken house their home, but my most senior female cat killed off that entire mouse family. My cat’s family now will not eat mice, but they will get rid of them.

Cats Killing Or Fighting Other Wild Animals

We had a cat bitten on the face by a giant rat that she managed to kill. I have had cats chase down rabbits and eat them. Several of my cats have eaten pigeons and a pheasant. One of my cats fought with a large skunk, and the skunk ate off a small section of her face. She had a rabies shot, and her face healed up beautifully.

Tom Cat Fights

Tom cats can get in dirty and nasty fights. I have had Toms lose a section of their ear or had their face all clawed up. I had three Toms on my farm, and when an invader would come, he better run for the hills because all three of my Toms would chase after him. My Toms always helped each other out in defending their territory against invaders. My female cats would call my Toms when they noticed an invader approaching them. When a Tom cat gets older, he will need extra help defending his territory as he will not be as agile as the young Tom. Old feral Toms do not fare well; they end up all torn up or blind in one eye.

Feral Cats Need Our Help To Get Back On There A Game

Try to find a home for any feral cats you may see. Place an ad on Social Media, and tell your Vet about the cat so they can find a warm, loving home for them. Old and young feral cats do not fare well; they must fight for every morsel of food and defend their territory. In the winter months, they can get frostbite or freeze to death. Put out a heated cat building for feral cats and plenty of fresh water. Be careful catching a wild cat, as they may have rabies. Ask an expert on how to see a feral cat. I put out a cage with canned tuna in water which generally works every time. Has your local Vet checked over the wild cat? I love adopting and helping out cats that need our loving care. Keep your cats on top of their A game.

Flavor Of The Day

Flavor Of The Day

What Kind Of Flavor Do You Leave Behind

What kind of impression do you make when you visit and talk to people? Do you leave a good flavor in their mouth like a beautiful sundae, or do you leave them with a horrible cough syrup flavor? Try to make a good impression on people. You are hired by your first impression of someone hiring to fill the vacant position. Come dressed appropriately and have a positive and outgoing attitude. You will not be hired if you come in dressed with holes in your pants and look sloppy. Do not make demands on your future boss, such as you need to have three days a week off. Leave a pleasant flavor behind, and you will likely be hired if you are qualified for the job opening.

Being Around Friends

Visit and treat your friends with the utmost respect and other people. Take turns doing what the other person likes to do. Take your friend out to eat. Go on a day trip, discover new foods, and go shopping in the towns that you stop at and see the local attractions in the area. Listen to friends’ cares and concerns and help them when needed. Never be jealous of your friend’s accomplishments, and be glad for them. Treat your friends right, for an excellent friend is hard to find. Take your friend out for a surprise outing or shopping trip. Leave a wonderful flavor behind for your friends and loved ones.

Flavor Of The Day

There are all kinds of flavors of different ice creams because all of us like different flavors, which is a good thing. It would not be interesting if we all wanted vanilla ice cream or a steak dinner. Everyone has a distinct flavor that sets well on his palette. Thank goodness we all look different and are interested in other things, as all of us can add a little flavor to life. We need everyone to add their taste and their unique piece of the pie to the total to make the equation of life fit together perfectly and orderly. Without diversity, we would not function correctly and be out of sync with what needs to be accomplished on earth.

Getting Along With People

If someone gives you an inch, give them a mile, as the old saying goes. It is necessary to compromise sometimes for a fair and even outcome. Arguing with people only escalates a situation that is bad already. Talk out a solution that both parties can live with. Do not be quiet if you have a problem with someone or a business; they cannot read your mind. Most people want you to be happy with their product or service, and they will let you return it or fix it as they do not want to leave the cough syrup flavor in your mouth. Put your best foot forward in all your relationships with others, and everyone will feel like they are eating their favorite ice cream sundae.

Cats That Are Difficult To handle

Cats That Are Difficult To Handle

Cat Harnesses

Some of my cats love to walk on a cat harness. Cali loves to get outdoors and walk around with a harness on. I have to put a saddle on her because she is declawed and would be defenseless in the country without her front claws. Cali also needs a Lactaid ringer treatment once a week to help her kidneys eliminate toxins. Winchester used to love to go outdoors with a harness on. He is furious when I try to take the harness off, and he tries to bite me. I am not taking him for walks anymore. I put him in my cat’s outdoor playpen, and he seems OK.

Giving Your Cat His Meds

I have had a few cats that would swallow their pills right down. Most cats will wiggle, scratch, and do almost anything to get out of taking their Meds. I have a pill syringe for cats that works nearly every time I administer their Meds. I put liquid medicine in a dropper, place it in the back of their throat, and squeeze the dropper, and they generally swallow it down. Brushing your cat’s teeth work best with a small cat toothbrush. I have used the plastic ones that fit on your finger, only to have blood running down my finger.

Cat Grooming

I comb out my gentle cats first, and the more difficult ones can sit and watch. I had one cat that hated to be groomed, and after he sat and watched some of my other cats getting groomed and heard them purr, he let me groom him. Never groom or hold a cat against his will if you want to be able to help him out in the future. Cats that think they are not being treated right will avoid you at all costs. I have groomed some of my cats while they were eating a favorite cat treat or snack.

The Dreaded Vet Visit

Cats will hide when they think you are taking them to the Vet. Give your cat some of his favorite food and grab him by the nap of his neck and place him in your pet carrier. For the more wild cats in your household, catch them in a fish net, grab them by the nap of their neck, and put the rear end in the carrier first. Never put their head in the pet carrier first; they will wiggle and most likely out-maneuver you and escape. Make the ride to the Vet enjoyable for them. Do not play loud music in your car or get mad because they are meowing loudly. Your cat is afraid because he does not know what will happen to him. Talk to your cat gently and reassure him that everything will be OK. Give your cats some of their favorite cat treats when they behave at any task that has to be done to help them. I hope your next Vet visit goes well.

Put Your Heart And Soul Into It

Put Your Heart And Soul Into It

Your Passions In Life

If I am passionate about something, I put my heart and soul into achieving my goal. When people tell me I cannot do something, I want to prove them wrong. Someone once told me I could not win a grand prize at the fair. I proved them wrong, and I went home with the award. I used to love fixing up rental houses and made sure I could live in each one myself. I loved to paint, make minor repairs, and trim all the trees on the properties with my chainsaw and pole trimmer. I love cats, so I ensure they have the best care; I take them to my Vet for their yearly shots and health checkups. I love to keep up with things and ensure they look. I want a well-manicured lawn and buildings in good repair.

Your Connection to God Should Be Very Strong

Your connection to God should be a solid connection that you want to keep and uphold. If you feel you are not keeping up your connection to God, talk to your friends, Pastor, read devotions, read the Bible, and ask God to help draw you back to him. God is my compass, guide, and friend; he is always there for me at all of life’s high and low points. God helps me to see the high points in life and forget about spilled milk in the past. We cannot change our history but brighten our future as shining stars.

Passionate About Cooking  And Baking

If you are passionate about cooking, it will show in the flavor of the food dishes that you have prepared. Your food will look very presentable when it is served on the plate. You will have the food arranged on the scale and do it on some of your best china. People will most likely ask for seconds if you have been genuinely passionate about your cooking and presentation. I had a wonderful three-layer chocolate peanut butter cake served on a plate covered with chocolate swirls, and was it ever delicious? I love panna cotta with lemon, blueberries, and more. Desserts that look appealing make the dessert come to life and are an excellent way to end your meal.

Friendships

Nurture your friendships. Get together often with friends and tell them you love your company. As the old saying goes, friends are indeed the flowers in the garden of life. Without good friends in your life and your company with God, you would be adrift in the sea of life. Friends cheer you up and help you feel better and more alive. Never take friendship for granted; a true friend is like a rainbow after a storm, and good friends are hard to find. Your fellowship with God should be nurtured, and you should praise God daily for your company with him.

Life With Cats In Your Home

Life With Cats In Your Home

My First House Cat

My first house cat was Sugar, a Seal Point Siamese cat. She was set in her ways, and she had her routine. She did not like other cats except for one sicky little male kitten I bought into our home until he was well enough to go back outdoors again. She was very jealous if you paid attention to anything else but her. My Mother was working on genealogy, and Sugar chewed the corners off her papers. She also chewed the corner off of our new road atlas. If she got outdoors, she would try to get into fights with my other cats. Sugar ruled the roost. She was a wonderful lap cat, and I loved her Siamese voice. She would sleep on my bed at night. Once, I found her in my winter vest with just her head sticking out. She loved to play with sponges that she would toss around in the air. She grew up with a parakeet in her home, we had one, and she Dearly loved him. She sat on the tub’s edge and wailed for at least a week after my Mother died. I will always have fond memories of my first house cat, Sugar.

Two Cats In Our Home

I had Ginger, a Lynx point Siamese, and Red, a red tabby. I rescued Ginger from a shelter and cleaned her with a flea and tick solution. She felt and looked much better after her treatment. Ginger was a very loving and kind cat. Red was given to me by my Vet. Red was brilliant and had a circle game toy that he had perfected to a science. He would watch to see if you were watching him play. If you asked him if he wanted to go outdoors, he would come running lickety-split. I had Sly until two stray dogs killed him in my yard. He was such a loving and wonderful cat born on my farm. I let him out because his Mother and sister were still outdoor cats. After Ginger died, I found Philmoor hiding under the cars at a restaurant. He was a lovely and shy cream-colored cat with white socks and boots. Red was jealous of him because he caught onto his circle game toy immediately. He got liver cancer, and I had to have him put to sleep at the age of 10.

I Have Three Cats In My Home

I had Catrenia, a Russian Blue, until she got a kidney disease; my Vet had always wanted her, so he adopted her, and he can treat her, and she is doing fine at his house. I had to have Sebastian put to sleep because he got cancer of the sinuses and mouth. I still miss him very much. He was a very gentle and kind cat that loved everyone. I have Conrad, Garfunkel, and Cali in my home now. Conrad is my cat only, as he is a one-person cat. Garfunkel is very loving and playful, and very talkative. He is an excellent lap cat. Cali is doing fine with her lactaid ringer for her minor kidney disease. She gets two ml of the Lactaid water under the skin once a week to help filter the toxins out of her body as the water is absorbed into her skin. She is very playful and talkative. My cats have their favorite toys and sleeping areas. I could not imagine my home without a cat or two or three.

Cats Enrich And Bring Joy To Your Home

Cats are playful and loving and lay down on your lap and purr away contentedly. Watching your cats and seeing what cat antics they will perform or get into next is fun. Cats bring great comfort and joy into my life. I love watching my cats play with their cat toys and interacting with my cats. God, thank you for blessing us with felines on Earth.
