Your Day Did Not Go As Planned

Most days do not go as they are planned to go. You may have gotten a lot of spam calls that delayed you from your work. Your plane flight may have been canceled. Always be grateful for what went right during your day. That would be good if you did not fall for any of the spam calls. Be glad you did not get on a plane that may have crash-landed due to ice buildup if they had not canceled your flight. If you are delayed on a trip, walk around the town you will be staying in overnight and look at local attractions that interest you. Somedays that do not go as planned turn out much better than any planned day. A friend may call you on the spur of the moment to go out for coffee or an incredible drive.

Make A Positive Out Of A Negative Day

If someone accuses you of something you did not do, talk it out with them. You will be glad you did and are back on sound footing with them. Never dwell on negative things, as they will drag you down. Keep your eye on all the positive things in your life and try to block out the adverse events. If you spill coffee all over your new carpet, remember you can have it professionally cleaned, and it will look new again. I try to remember all my beautiful and enjoyable times with family and friends. If I happen to break something, I replace it or keep my memories of it. Remember, with God in your life, gloomy days will become positive as you pray to God for guidance.

Your Job

Some people do not like their work and dread going to work every day. Be glad you have a job and can work, as many people cannot even work due to their health. Keep working at your job and do your absolute best work every day. You can look for your ideal dream job, but never quit one before finding another job. Do not change careers constantly, as your future employer will figure he cannot count on having you work for him for an extended period. If you do half a job at work, you will always have a job nobody wants. Present yourself in your best light and do your very best work every day, and you will have positive and happy days working.

Negative Comments And How To Handle Them

If someone complains about something they ate or purchased from you, try to make it right with them. If someone complains about something with nothing to back up their story and tries to stir up trouble, tell them you will talk to them on the phone later. Never have an out-and-out argument over anything in your business where customers can hear you. A positive thing can quickly become negative when people do not get their facts straight. Turn customers’ negative experiences into positive experiences if at all possible.

God Can Turn Negative Days Into Positive Days

God will help you look on the bright side of things in your life. I pray to God for help when it is hard for me to look on the bright side of things, and he always brings sunshine into my life, even on the darkest days. With God in your life, many optimistic and cheerful days will be ahead.

Cats With Kidney Disease

My house cat Cali has mild kidney disease. Once a week, I give her a lactate ringer injection which helps her eliminate the waste from her kidneys. She absorbs the lactate through her skin which goes into her bloodstream and therefore helps filter her kidneys of garbage. Cali puts up with this treatment exceptionally well and seems to hold her own. I give her the food of her choice since she refuses to eat kidney function cat food. Wet food is necessary to help keep her hydrated. She loves Hartz delectables squeeze up moist cat food and their bisque varieties of chicken or tuna. I also make sure she has plenty of fresh water available at all times to drink. Eventually, your cat with kidney disease will keep losing weight and constantly vomiting their food. Unfortunately, this is when you should have them put to sleep so they do not have to suffer.

Cats With Asthma

My cat Conrad has asthma and needs his inhaler when there is lots of pollen or dust in the air. He can get by for months sometimes with no inhaler at all. When pollen is in the air, he starts coughing and cannot stop until he gets a puff out of his inhaler. He has learned to accept the inhaler, which helps his breathing.

Be Careful Handling Your Sick Cat

If your cat feels very bad, he may try to bite you because he is in a lot of pain. Hang onto your cat by the Nap of their neck and place the rear end first into their pet carrier. Cats that do not see the cage will go into it much easier than a cat that can see it head-on. Put on heavy gloves if your cat tries to bite you so you will not be hurt as much. You can place a cat treat in the cage and hope your cat may walk right in if your cat likes his cat treats. A fish net works well for catching cats as you can grab them by the Nap of their neck in the net. I hope you and your cat arrive at your Vet safely and that your cat has a speedy recovery.

Medicines And Your Cat

I have a pill holder that looks like a syringe that holds pills. With the drug on the end, I push down on the needle, and then my cats get their medicine safely. I also have mixed wet cat food with crushed pills which works sometimes. Cats seem to know when to take treatment, so you must look for them in their favorite hideouts. I put my cat’s ear mite medicine in a small dropper and squeeze it into their ears.

Treating Your Elderly Cat

Cats develop many of the same diseases we get as we age, and they will require more Vet checkups. Most older cats love heated beds or warm blankets to curl up in. Buy more wet cat food for your older cat, which will help keep him hydrated. If your cat has arthritis, buy him some cat medicine for that. Your cat may need some of his teeth pulled so he will not die from heart failure due to decayed teeth. Your cat could get cancer, and you will not want to see it suffer, so you should have them put to sleep so it will die peacefully. Your older cat will have a more challenging time getting around, so consider placing a litter box on the main floor of your home for them. I purchased a ladder that helped my cat get into my bed easier. Take your cat to your Vet if you notice any unusual behavior ASAP, as you may save their life. Treat your Dear cat with all the love he has shown you over the beautiful years you have had together. May you and your cat age gracefully together.

My Feet Will Be Planted Firmly on The Ground

With God in your life, your feet will be planted firmly on the ground, and you will not drift out to sea. God helps guide all of us in our lives if we let him. God presents many opportunities in our lives, and we are responsible for following or looking for them. God is your compass and guide in life. When all seems lost, God is always there for me. If you lose out on one opportunity in your life, another will eventually present itself. Life is full of constant changes; sometimes, change will draw you closer to God. When your relationship with God grows, you grow also.

Health Issues

Do not be afraid of health issues. Health issues can draw you closer to God, and you can accomplish things that would not have been possible before. Health problems give you a new outlook on life that will make you a better person as you can connect with others better. You will see other people’s troubles and problems and try to help them more. Do not let health issues consume or control you. You empower your illness and never let it empower you.

A New Direction In Your Life

All of us will have a new direction in our lives eventually. We will be alone after college, and our jobs will help others. We may get married and have children who live after us, which will make a difference in society. A job change could be around the corner, and we may like it much better than our previous job. Eventually, we will have to leave our home due to health and live in an Assisted Living Unit or a Rest Home. God will keep you on track with the various directions you will go in your life.

Traveling With God

When we travel, God knows our destination and what we will be looking at before we know it. God wants us to have safe travels and enjoy nature and the incredible beauty he has created in the World. It is fun to talk to people in various countries and learn that they are not any different than we are, as we all want the same things out of life. We want peace, joy, hope, and love and for people to be compassionate, kind, and caring toward us. God be my compass and my guide in all of my travels.

Never Get Lost In The Shuffle Of Life

Stay focused on your goals in life. If you are losing your way, ask God to help you stay focused and alert to what he calls you to do with your life. Everyone that is born contributes to the World in some significant way. Your life matters significantly in the scheme of things. Never hide your light under a bushel. Put it out there for the whole world to see it shining brightly.

Your New Feline Friend May Hide From You, To Begin With

It would be best to remember that your new cat had been removed from his surroundings and people he was familiar with. Anyone would be upset if they were suddenly put in a strange home surrounded by unknown people, sights, and smells. Most of my new cats would hide under a couch, in a box, in the shower, or any area, I could not find right away. The more often I patted or t, talked to them softly, the more outgoing they became. They would come after I called here kitty if they could smell cat treats, tuna canned in water, or a cat snack. You can win over almost any cat with food they like by talking to them softly and being very gentle with them. Some cats hide from you for a month or more before they feel comfortable being seen all the time. I still have one cat that hides from everyone but me. At age 10, one of my cats decided he would trust other people, and he rubs against their legs and purrs away at them.

Litter Box

Never scold a cat for missing his litter box. It takes a cat a while to get used to new litter boxes. If you do not have enough litter boxes in your home, your cat may miss the litter box. They recommend at least one litter box per two cats. Ideally, you would have four litter boxes for three cats. Cats want a clean litter box, or they may not use it at all. I clean out my litter boxes every day.

Cat Food And Water

A cat will starve before eating cat food it does not like. One cat refused to eat a particular brand of cat food, and his owners found out that that brand had caused the death of many cats that did eat it as it was poisoned in processing. Feed fresh cat food and watch those expiration dates. Try to buy the most expensive cat food, as the formula has fewer fillers, by-products, and ash. Give your cat fresh water in a nice clean bowl daily, as cats do not like to drink out of dirty bowls.

Cat Toys

Do not get mad at your cat if he does not play with his new cat toy. Even children have certain toys that they play with and others that sit on the shelf. Female cats play with more feminine-looking cat toys than your male cats would play with. My female cat liked the toys my male cats never played with. My male cats will watch auto racing and woodworking programs, and my female cat likes Martha Stewart—all of my cats like cooking shows.

Outgoing Or Introvert

Some cats are very outgoing, aim to please all of the time, and are very friendly to all that cross their path in life. The outgoing cat comes up to anyone new in your home, wants to be petted, and calls attention to himself. Introvert cats tend to be loners, stay alone, and do not want to be around people they do not know.

Brushing And Combing

Some cats do not like to be combed out, and others love it. Most cats will put up with gentle brushing of their hair. Never tug a snarl from your cat’s hair; it will hurt them. If your cat has matted hair, cut the area off carefully so you do not miss your cat’s skin. Be patient with your new feline friend, and you will have a wonderful friend for life. Be good to all of God’s beautiful creatures, great and small.

Redeem

Some Things That We Redeem

We redeem pop bottles for the money we can get back. We may redeem a ticket for what we pawned at a pawn shop. We recycle things so they can be made into something useful again. When we burn a tree that has died or been cut down, we redeem the wood for another purpose. We make furniture and homes out of wood from trees. We can send a package in a box that we have saved. I have used pieces in ground-up timber for mulch or kitty litter. Whenever we give something old a new purpose, we have redeemed it. We must save many things to keep Mother earth clean for future generations. Saving items gives me a feeling of great satisfaction.

Redeeming Our Homes

Any remodeling we do to our home makes it a more comfortable living area. A new roof on your home redeems the life of your home immensely. A house without a good roof and foundation will not stand for long. A fresh coat of paint makes your home more presentable and more inviting to other people. New wiring helps prevent a fire in your home from overloaded circuits. New plumbing will help avoid water damage that could ruin your home. To keep a home in tip-top shape, we must redeem things by repairing or replacing them promptly.

Redeem Yourself

It can be tough to redeem yourself in someone else’s eyes if you have stepped over the line with them. Admit right away that you were wrong and that it was your fault. Fulfill your duties and obligations. Execute and go through with the things that you have promised. Ensure you satisfy the person you work for and do not complete only half of your task at hand. Keep your promises and be kind; you will not have to redeem yourself.

Redeem With God

Pray to God daily to help you stay on the right path. God is excellent as a guide, and you will never be lost. Suppose you have sinned, ask God for forgiveness, and tried not to repeat the sin. Be kind and forgiving of other people before you ask for forgiveness for yourself. The thief on the cross who, by a single act of Jesus, was redeemed from a life of evil. A person must atone or make amends for sin. Good will always win over evil in the end. Evil tries to live in people if they do not ask for help or accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. We must admit our wrongs to God and try to atone for our sins. Be good, kind, compassionate, loving, joyful, caring, hopeful, peaceful, and a good Samaritan. Help God spread his good works to the masses. God came into the world to serve and not to be served. Live by God’s good results and help others as God would want you to. Redeem with God by your side, helping you make decisions that please God and others.

Be A Savvy Consumer

Know What Prices Are

Someone wanted to buy something from me at once for a meager price. I called my neighbors to see what the company offered them for their items. They were offering them $1000.00 more than what they provided me. They thought she was just a woman, and she would take that price. Do your research before you sell something of great value at a giveaway price. I have had repairers try to offer me a terrible price to fix something, and I told them that is two times the going rate for that kind of repair work. Always have a written contract with the agreed price, the brand of materials, and what repairs will be made so you will not get taken to the cleaners when it comes time to pay the bill.

Buying Big Ticket Items

Go to several car dealers and check out what is available online before you pay $5000.00 too much for your new car. Include everything in writing, including the vehicle’s year, color, motor size, and VIN. By following these steps, they cannot switch cars on you. Before buying a home, inspect everything and buy appliance maintenance protection insurance. Have the roof and foundation inspected since they are the most critical parts of your new home? If your roof or foundation is wrong, you will not have a home for long. A house needs a solid foundation and an excellent roof. Ask people what stores they shop at and read the reviews online before you get taken to the cleaners. Let the buyer beware.

Auctions

Do not get wrapped up in an auction and keep bidding away, for you will pay much more than the item is usually worth. Know your prices for the items you are bidding on and set limits for each item. If the article looks terrible, most likely, it will malfunction too. Ensure the item has all the functional parts, or you will be out of luck. Make sure you look over everything very carefully for cracks or breakage. I do not want to buy something on online auctions far away as I do not know what you are bidding on, as it could be gold or lead.

Know Your Grades Of Items

When purchasing items, there are different grades, such as mint, excellent, reasonable, and fair condition. The better the quality, the longer the thing should last or look. You can buy firm, medium, or soft pillow tops with beds. You can purchase entry-level beds, couches, chairs, or medium or top-of-the-line. I like to purchase medium-priced items. I never want to buy the lowest-priced one as I figure it will have more repairs in the long run. Be a savvy consumer when dealing with people so you do not get taken to the cleaners or get stuck with low-quality repairs or merchandise. Have fun shopping and do all your homework before writing out that check, as you do not want buyer’s remorse.

Take Time To Relax

Rest And Let Your Body Heal When You Feel Sick

You may be a workhorse and want to keep working when you feel sick. Do not keep working when you feel ill; you will only feel worse, and it will take you twice as long to feel better. Rest in bed or read a good book until you feel better. Do not rush to start any new job until you are up to the task. Remember, Rome was not built in one day, and you cannot do it at work. Some of us are stubborn and will not rest until we are practically at death’s door,r, which is very foolish. Paying your bills, weeding your garden, and mowing your lawn will wait until you feel like your old self again.

All Work And No Play Is Not Good For Anyone

Take a one-day trip to relax and unwind; you will be surprised how much better you will feel. People need to get away from everyday problems, even if it is just for a little while. When I return from a vacation, I feel completely revived, and I cannot wait to start new projects. Traveling awakens your senses and mind to new and exciting things you can reflect on for the rest of your life. I am thrilled when I arrive in a new country and discover all the sights and riches the area offers. I love eating their food and looking at the beautiful means of the site, such as architecture, museums, landscapes, flowers, animals, and much more. I love visiting with the people that I meet on my travels. Relax and travel, for no one can ever take that away.

God And Rest

We are invited to rest with Jesus every day, at any time. We sleep on the Sabbath and keep it Holy because we need it. Not only is it biblical rest, but we also need it for our physical, mental, and emotional health. Spiritual rest allows us to experience God in everything and recline in the knowledge of the Holy One. You can find rest for your soul through prayers, communing with God, faith, and his word. When we are well rested, we can communicate with God better in prayers, thoughts, and much more. Rest on the Sabbath and grow closer to God.

Restful Activities

Go out into the great outdoors and enjoy the sights and sounds of the day. Read a book, magazine, newspaper, and more. I like to lay in my hammock and read or watch the birds eating at my bird feeders. Go out for coffee with a friend or out to eat together. Call up people on the phone and visit with them, and you will feel much better. I love attending musical concerts, operas, museums, and more. Find your favorite way to unwind and revive your mind and soul, and you will be glad you did, as rest is good for your overall health.

Garden and Power Tools

I take the trimmers into the house and place them on a piece of newspaper to sharpen and lubricate the blades. I have taken my chainsaws in the house to clean them and to replace the dull chainsaw blade with a nice sharp one. Change the oil in your mowers in the early hours before the heat gets the best of you.

Cleaning Your Basement

Cleaning your basement in the summer is the perfect place to clean since the basement is nice and cool. I burn old boxes and things I do not use that have seen better days. You can sell stuff in your basement that is clean and useable. If you have not used an item in ten years, you might as well sell it. Take old paint to a recycling center. Wash and mop your basement floor and clean your rafters and don’t forget to clean out the dryer vent and replace your furnace filter.

Cleaning Up Outdoor Buildings

I have sold or taken almost all my items from my outdoor building. I have burned many of the items in a burn pile. In the summer, I burn any old cardboard and debris that I might find in a building. I like clean and orderly facilities. I have donated good usable items to charity or sold them to get the unneeded item out of the way.

Cleaning Up Your Home In The Summer

If you have a painting project, working on it in an air-conditioned house is lovely. It is an excellent time to replace your carpet, as you can set items outdoors to get them out of the way while the carpet installers are at work. I have stained or painted my deck and outdoor buildings in the early morning hours. Mowing your yard and weed whacking is necessary for the early morning or late hours. I like cleaning the refrigerator and stove and defrosting the freezer. I wipe down the sleeves in the fridge, clean up the oven and racks, defrost the freezer, and put the food with ice in coolers. I like clean appliances as they can harbor germs if left unattended and not thoroughly cleaned.

Gardening

Put wood chips around your garden plants so you will not have to weed much in the summer. Sprinkle natural pest control powder on your squash and potato plants. You may need to water your plants with a mixture to prevent blight. Work in the garden before the mosquitoes commence to eat you alive. Do not be afraid to spray Off or Cutter on yourself to prevent mosquito bites.

Clean Up Your Pets Beds, Dishes, Bird Baths, and More

I like to scrub out my bird bath with a Brillo pad, rinse it thoroughly, and put nice fresh water in it. It is also a good idea to clean out your bird feeders. Clean or replace pet dishes and bowls. I wash my cat’s bedding, toys, and towels in a washing machine just for my cats. Clean up your automatic and other litterboxes to prevent fleas and sickness in your cats. I have burned most of my old plastic litterboxes, bowls, and other pet dishes and replaced them with stainless steel or Pyrex containers. I buy new litterboxes when the old ones get, so you cannot clean them anymore. Clean early or later in the day to beat the dog days of summer if you must work outdoors cleaning. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Fellowship

Sharing The Same Interest

It is nice to visit and be around people that share the same interest that you do. If you collect something, join a club of people with the same things you do. You can learn about the various items others have in the group. If a party in the group wants something that you have, you could exchange an item that interests you that they have. You will be able to learn how to repair the things that you have collected. I like to ask people about the history of where they purchased their collectibles. Some people have lovely family heirlooms they would never part with because their Great Great Grandfather owned the item until it was passed down to them. Card clubs are a good way for people to form a wonderful fellowship. While playing cards, they can visit each other and maybe discover that they like to travel, and eventually, travel together to a place they agree on. I belonged to a toy train club for about two years, and I got to look at some ancient toy trains that still could make it down the rails.

History Buffs

You could join a historical group in your hometown. You might want to become a member of your local museum. You could volunteer to be a tour guide at a museum and help them with fundraisers. You will meet people who enjoy history just as much as you do if you join any historical groups in your hometown or other towns that you want to promote and help out. I met many wonderful people at the historical museum in my hometown. All of us had a common goal we wanted to preserve history for future generations to come. We had people who were good at repairing and fixing old equipment so the young kids could see it working. We all put our talents to work to keep history alive for many years. My Grandmother belonged to a book club that read history books, and they would get together and discuss the book in great detail. Antique car clubs are lovely as they drive to car shows to show off their old antique car. Some people will meet at swap meets to find parts for their antique cars or old motorcycles. We have an old steam engine train that has been completely redone at our local park. Around Christmas time, they start it up, and it has that beautiful hum of an old steam engine. The save the Steam Engine club keeps growing yearly as we want to keep the old train running and humming for many years.

Fellowship In Church

Everyone in the church has a common goal: we all want to worship God as our Lord and Savior. Greeting and welcoming everyone that comes through the doors of our church is very important as we want to make them feel welcome in the house of the Lord. Before church, I visit and talk to people sitting next to me or walking by me to get to their church pew. Having coffee or eating after the service is also an excellent form of fellowship. Fellowship is essential for your mental well-being and overall happiness.

Grilling Out

I love corn on the cob and potatoes with oil, olive, and seasonings wrapped in aluminum foil on the grill. I like black Angus grass-fed burgers, grilled chicken, fish, Iowa pork chops, hot dogs with no nitrates, and salmon cooked on a grill. I season everything I put on the grill and place aluminum foil on the grill for easier cleanup. I have a grill with lava rocks and a propane burner on the side that comes in handy to warm up things or boil some extra vegetables with. I prefer to grill on a day with a gentle breeze and when bugs are not flying around. I have meat-flipping tools and all of the other necessary grill tools. I have a plate for the uncooked meat and a clean plate for the cooked meat. The grilled or boiled vegetables have bowls of their own; I love grilling out on warm days as you do not have to heat your kitchen. Years ago, people had outdoor kitchens for the summer months, which made perfect sense as their houses stayed cooler. I hope you have a fun and fabulous summer grilling out in the great outdoors, enjoying your grilled steaks, and more.

Ice Cream

We all enjoy a big dish or large cone of ice cream on the dog days of summer. I love twist cones and raspberry yogurt cones. I love a black cherry yogurt ice cream that comes in a big container. The yogurt ice creams do not have as many calories as regular ice cream does. I love homemade peach or pumpkin ice cream. Ice cream continually cools one down and puts one in a reasonable mind on those hot summer days. Ice cream bars are an excellent way to have a fantastic snack on the go. I found one that has root beer and natural cream in it. I love chocolate-wrapped ice cream and one that has caramel in the middle of it. I like shakes, malts, banana splits, and sundaes. I hope you have many beautiful cones or dishes of ice cream this summer.

Various Foods That Are Summertime Favorites Of Mine

I love homemade potato salad. I remember my Mothers potato salad, and no one can top that potato salad. I love deviled eggs as I consider them a delicacy. Angle food cake is my favorite, and I eat a lot of it in the summer. A strawberry shortcake is always a winner, especially if made with fresh strawberries. I love banana cream pie; it has an excellent flavor and remarkable consistency. I love cold coffee drinks such as iced coffee and frappes. I like peach mango smoothies and Gatorade. I enjoy deli tuna sandwiches and cold turkey sandwiches. I love fresh pears, garden vegetables, rhubarb, apple crisps, and cream cheese mints. I want foods that are quick and easy to make in the summertime. I hope you enjoy your favorite summertime foods.
