Do Kitten's Remember Their Mother's When They Are Grown Cats ?

Do Kitten’s Remember Their Mother’s When They Are Grown Cats ?

My cat Addi gave birth to five kittens one year ago. I found an excellent home for two of her five kittens. The party that adopted two of Addi’s kittens named the kittens Leo and Cleo. I still have three of Addi’s kittens: Sherlock, Mr. Gray, and Hilford. I observed Hilford licking his Mother on the face one day. Mr. Gray came up next to his Mother and rubbed up against her face.

Addi lets her grown-up kittens eat all of her cat’s treats yet. She is a loving Mother to all of her grown-up kittens. She always thinks of her kittens before thinking of her well-being. Addi never touches any cat food until her kittens have eaten all they want of that particular cat food.

Addi and Trixie and catnip toy

My outdoor cat Trisha had one kitten in December when she was fifteen. She stayed with him constantly to keep him warm. I had a little electric heater plugged into the building they were in. I named her kitten Tinker. Tinker was a beautiful creme-colored kitten. Tinker and his Mother always got along well.

I had a calico cat that had a long-haired kitten. When her kitten was fully grown, she did not remember her Mother. The two of them got into a big catfight. My calico cat was always very protective of her kittens throughout the years.

I had a female Himalayan cat at one time. She gave birth to one female kitten. She and her kitten always got along fine. They would lick each other’s hair and rub it against each other.

Mother cats never forget their grown-up kittens, and most of my grown-up kittens always remembered their Mother and thought of the kindness she would always give to them.

Cats Learn Their Hunting Skills from Their Mother

Cats Learn Their Hunting Skills from Their Mother

If a kitten is taken away from too early in life from its Mother, it will not have learned any hunting skills. A kitten learns the necessary hunting skills by watching its Mother hunt for mice.

I have watched many Mother cats take their kittens with them while they went out hunting. All the kittens that went out hunting with their Mother became excellent hunters like their Mothers.

Addi and Trixie and catnip toy

I had a house cat that did not know how to kill mice. My vet then gave me a cat that he had found abandoned at a golf course in December. He was a wonderful cat, but he had no hunting skills whatsoever. When my vet found my future cat, he was only a tiny kitten. His Mother did not have time to teach him any hunting skills. I’m sure my vet did not want him to kill small gerbils that came to his office. He was a wonderful cat and lived to be seventeen years old.

Addi and her kittens

I had a Siamese cat that would catch mice and eat them. She would always leave the mouse’s tail as proof that she had killed the mouse.

My first cat Flossie would come to our house almost every morning with a mouse she had caught in our field. She was also very good at killing rats in the open corn crib with ear corn in it.

Blacknose was Flossie’s kitten. She would bring home garter snakes that she had killed. She was also an excellent huntress like her Mother.

I have had several outdoor cats that were excellent runners. They could run faster than the rabbit they were after. Once they caught the rabbit, they would bring it home. All of my cats would then share their catch of the day.

If you want a cat that is an excellent mouser, ensure he is not taken away from his Mother too early in life.

Why My Cats are so Important to me

Why My Cats are so Important to me

My cats greet me with a gentle nudge in the morning. Their purrs are peaceful and relaxing. Every one of my cats has its distinct personality. Some cats are much more outgoing than others. Some cats are timid and take a long time to get used to people.

20150430_180745

My cats know if I am not feeling well and curl beside me. My cats purr away and take the worries of this World away. Garfunkel always curls right next to me. Conrad lets me pat him on the head and sits by my feet. Kohl will lie down next to me and then lie by the heat register for the night.

Watching my cats play is very relaxing for my cats and me. They love to play with their lighted ball toy and catnip mice.

When you rescue or save a cat’s life,e you have protected one of God’s beautiful creatures. All the cats I have saved over the years have been delightful.

20160104_144518

Cats are not judgmental. Cats will return any favor you do for them ten times over in the love they return to you. Some cats love to have their hair brushed out. All of my cats love to eat tuna canned in water and an occasional cat treat now and then.

I have been around cats since I was in a baby stroller. My cats have followed me all over my farm. They sit on my lap if I read a book outdoors. They waited with me and kept me company while I waited for the school bus in the morning.

Flosssie

I cannot remember life without the love of a dear feline friend. I hope you have a special feline friend in your life.

Trisha's Story

Trisha’s Story

Trisha was a beautiful tortoiseshell calico cat. Her Mother was a black and white cat by the name of Honey. Honey was part Siamese, Himalayan, and Domestic Short Hair. Trisha’s Father was a black cat born and raised on our farm.

Trisha was an excellent Mother cat. Trisha never lost one of her kittens. She was very protective of all of her kittens. Trisha would look both ways on the road at least three times before crossing safely to the other side. She also taught each one of her kittens this excellent survival skill.

I had a door flap installed on my cat building. Trisha spent a great deal of time teaching every one of her kittens how to enter and leave the cat building through the door flap. She was very patient with her kittens.

Trisha had one kitten that looked just like she did. I named that particular kitten Elite. Elite loved to sleep with my pet goat Zachary. Zachary licked her fur so much that he gave her a Mohawk in June.

Trisha was an excellent huntress. She would bring home rabbits and mice that she had caught. Her kittens were excellent hunters with Tr, isha’s excellent guidance.

Trisha had one kitten when she was fifteen, and I named him Tinker. Tinker was a beautiful cream-colored kitten. Tinker was born in December but thrived with Trisha’s excellent care.

I had a little heater in my cat building to keep Trisha warm in her old age. Trisha would still go out hunting in the field and ditches in her old age and was still very successful. Trisha lived to be eighteen years old. Trisha has lived longer than any of my other outdoor cats. Trisha died on my farm, and she is buried on my farm. Trisha was a truly remarkable and lovely outdoor cat.

Training Your Cat

Training Your Cat

Consistency is the key to training your cat. When you tell your cat no, it should be in a firm voice.

Do not let your cat jump on your table one day and the next day think oh well, I don’t care. Your cat will get mixed signals quickly. I like to hit my newspaper on the area they should not be on. The newspaper makes a loud noise that they do not like. They will remember hearing that noise again if they do not stay down.

My Grandmother would swat a fly swatter on a table to discourage her cat’s lousy behavior. I would not encourage that method, however. When you want to kill a fly, your cat will wonder what you did wrong.

TI has put perfume on a cotton ball and placed it on my table to stay off the furniture. Ensure your furniture’s color fastness before placing the scented cotton ball on your furniture. Cats do not like the smell of perfume and stay off your table.

Another way of making cats behave is to bang a couple of pots and pans’ lids together. They will not want to hear that noise again.

If my cat makes a mess on the carpet, I show them the area and say no. Do not put your cat’s face in a lot. That is cruel and unnecessary punishment.

Always reward your cat with a healthy cat treat after their excellent behavior. Never give your cat a treat for bad behavior. Your cat will think if I scratch up the couch, I will get a lovely cat treat.

I have tried placing aluminum foil on household items to keep my cats off. Aluminum foil has not proven effective with my cats whatsoever.

Cats are pretty intelligent creatures and catch on quickly. Reward your cat’s good behavior by playing a game with him. Have a stick with feathers on the end that he can bat around and play with. You can toss a ball back and forth with your cat that he will chase after. Always praise and pat and hold your cat when he remembers what you have taught him.

20151227_112008

I hope you and your cat live in perfect harmony for many years.

Farm Cats Versus House Cats

Farm Cats Versus House Cats

Farm cats live outdoors in a barn or another building. My cats live in a facility my Father made for cats to live in. My cats have heated houses to sleep in during the winter months and a heated stainless steel water dish. Many farm cats curl up in straw in a barn in winter to keep warm. Farm cats catch mice, birds, rats, and rabbits for part of their food intake. Farmers feed their cats dry cat food and wet canned cat food. My outdoor cats are good at catching pigeons and killing mice found in the field and the ditches. Some farm cats can be pretty wild if they have not had a lot of contact with humans in their life. Some feral cats that I have adopted have always been fantastic. I take my farm cats to the vet just like I take my house cats to the vet.

House cats are always lovely and warm in the winter months. My house cats have lots of toys to play with. My cats sleep with me or on the floor beside my bed. Sometimes I find Kohl sleeping in my recliner downstairs in the living room. Conrad likes to sleep in a platform rocker I have in the living room. Garfunkel always sleeps next to me in my bed at night. House cats get spoiled with cat treats and lots of toys to play with. My house cats love to watch birds from the ledge of my picture window. My cat’s next door have heated beds to sleep in in the winter months. They also have heated window sill benches to sleep on. My house cats are very loving and sweet cats.

Flossie My First Cat

Flossie My First Cat

My Grandfather found Flossie in our field as a tiny kitten. My Father was holding Flossie the first time I saw her. I developed a deep love for cats the moment my eyes first looked into the eyes of a cat. Flossie lived in the barn that we had at that time.

20151210_094411

Flossie would follow me all over the farm. She would sit next to me when I swung in my swing set. She would purr away when I held her and patted her head. She loved to rub against my legs. Flossie kept me company while I waited for the school bus in the morning. She was a constant and loving feline companion. Everywhere that I went on the farm, Flossie was sure to follow.

Flossie was a beautiful gray and white bi-colored cat. She had many kittens over the years. Blacknose was one of Flossie’s first kittens. I would hold Blacknose on my lap while I rode my tricycle. She was a beautiful Calico cat. Sprite was one of Flossie’s kittens. She was a yellow tabby cat with the same loving disposition as her mother.

20151210_094618

Flossie would run up to the house with her extended family when we would feed our cats in the morning. We now had a cat population of ten cats. When I would wait for the school bus in the morning, I had quite a gathering of cats waiting with me. I would pat each of them on the head while I waited patiently for the school bus to arrive. Some of my cats would run up to me when I got off the school bus after school.

Flossie and her family gave me a lot of love and attention, and I gave them love and attention in return. Flossie died out in the field where my Father was working one day. She is buried on my farm. Your first cat and other cats to come will fill your life with love, joy, happiness, peace, and contentment.

How I Acquired My cats

How I Acquired My Cats

I have adopted a lot of stray cats. I found one of my cats in a Perkins parking lot. It took a long time to catch him. My friend had a little brick of butter with her. I put some of the butter on the end of my finger, and I finally caught him and took him home with me. He turned out to be a wonderful house cat. I found one of my outdoor cats at a Mexican restaurant. I asked the owner of the restaurant about her. He said she had been there for three months and I could have her. She was a wonderful and loving Calico cat. I found several cats I now have at a cheese factory in Wisconsin. She helps rescue cats and finds them good homes.

I found Cali by answering a newspaper ad. They could not afford to have three cats, so they gave Cali to me. Cali is a beautiful Calico cat that is part of the Siamese. By answering a newspaper ad, I also got Sugar, a purebred Siamese cat. Garfunkel was living in a family home next to a restaurant where they had placed an ad that he was up for adoption. I adopted four of my cats from a woman that had just lost her Mother, and she was trying to find a good home for her Mother’s cats.

20150427_150702

We have found several of our outdoor cats as kittens in our field. My Grandfather found Flossie, my first cat in our area, as a kitten. My Father found a gray tabby kitten in the area in the winter. I gave her a distemper shot to help keep her healthy throughout the winter. She had several kittens that I gave away for adoption into good homes. One of her kittens, Sly, became one of my house cats.

Conrad

Most of my cats were born and raised on my farm. Kohl and Conrad were born and raised on my farm, along with many more unique and beautiful cats. My cats that were born and raised on my farm are a combination of Siamese, Himalayan, and domestic short hair.

I am thankful for all my wonderful feline friends, past and present. I hope you find and adopt the perfect cat for you and your family.

A cat Owners Daily Routine

A Cat Owners Daily Routine

My cats are my alarm clock. They generally wake me up by at least 6:00 AM every morning. They start by walking on my stomach or licking my hand.

I feed my cats early in the morning and give them fresh water. I comb or brush my cats, which tend to shed a lot. I generally comb out a small clump of fur from each cat I comb out.

I put my cat’s toys away every morning. It is always interesting to see what they will pick out of their cat toy box to play with for the day. They always pick out at least two catnip-filled toys. Today, they picked out a red toy lobster, a white toy rabbit, a small green dragon toy, and catnip toys.

20151112_121252

They take turns sitting on my lap in the afternoon while I pat them on their head. They like sleeping on top of my grandfather’s clock and refrigerator.

My cat next door take sunbathe during the day. They like to sleep on a window sill cat bed. Lorenzo and Russ like to rest on a shelf with clean towels softened with fabric softener.

20150430_180745

My cat’s next door get their litter box cleaned again in the afternoon. Some of my cat’s next door rush to make a new deposit to their litter box before I clean them out.

All of my cats get an afternoon or an evening snack. They may get cat treats or canned cat food or tuna canned in water as a treat for the day.

20150807_175942

My cat  Conrad likes to sleep on a rocking chair in the afternoon. Kohl wants to take sunbathe in the hallway upstairs in the afternoon. Garfunkel rests on the refrigerator, grandfather clock, and the China cabinet.

I love my daily routine of caring for my awesome feline family. I hope your feline family has a beautiful customary way with you.

Tom Cats and Their Own Kittens

Tom Cats and Their Own Kittens

My Tom cat Peter is an excellent father. Peter loves to watch his kittens play. He lets the kittens play with his tail now and then.

20150427_150742

I have watched Peter looking at his kittens. One day, he sat on the floor staring at his kittens as if he could not believe they were his ones. Peter will sit on a high shelf and watch his kittens play until he falls asleep. Peter will wrestle gently with his kittens. I have seen him with his paw wrapped around one of his kittens.

Hilford and Sherlock love to hide back a piece of plywood with their father, Peter. He is never mean to his kittens. Peter never growls or hits his kittens with his paws. He is a very kind and loving father. Sherlock was scratching the scratching post one morning, and Peter joined in.

If Peter thinks his kittens are not behaving correctly, he will step in the middle of their disagreements and break up any harmful interactions between his kittens. Mr. Gray likes to wrestle with his father. Peter always plays with him gently and kindly.

Peter loves to be up on a shelf or cat bed shelf or lying back on his piece of plywood. Peters’s mother was timid, and Peter took after her. Mr. Gray is very outgoing and playful. Hilford and Sherlock are very shy, like their father.

I gave Leo and Cleo away to a very loving and caring home. They were more outgoing and playful than their mother, Addy. Leo and Cleo like to sit up on something high as their father does.

Peter worships his kittens, and he watches over them every day. His kittens love to take a nap next to him. I will find them with their paws wrapped around each other in total comfort.
