Make Time For Memorable Moments

Make Time For Memorable Moments

Travel While You Can

If you wait to travel after you retire, you may never travel. Do not wait for the perfect moment to travel, as that moment may not come. If you are a first-time traveler, you may want to travel with a tour group as they will know the top things to see in your particular area. It is also a good idea to extend the time by a couple of days and see things on your own before you return home. As we age, our health can change quickly and make travel impossible. Travel with your family, friends, or a tour group, as you will have beautiful memories and make new friends with some of the people in your travel group. I met one woman on a tour, and we went on another tour together later. It is more fun to travel with a friend or family on a vacation and have beautiful pictures and things to talk about long after the trip is over.

Some People Regret Not Reaching Out And Doing What They Dreamed Of Doing In Their lives.

One woman said she regretted not attending college because she wanted to be a doctor. Her Mother had told her not to go. Her Mother had thought she would not be able to get married if she had a college education. She told her daughter that no man would marry a woman who was more intelligent than he was. I would say if he truly loved her, that would not matter. Unfortunately, this woman followed her Mother’s advice and did not further her education. This happened to this woman in the 1940s. A different woman became a physics doctor, and her Mother paid for her education. She was the first woman to graduate from a college only men had graduated from. She left a significant mark on the world. Never let anyone rob you of your dreams; keep reaching for the stars throughout your life. I know a woman who works at a pharmacy, and her father told her not to go to college because he did not want his daughter to be more intelligent than him. Encourage your children to go to college and remember they may leave an unforgettable mark on the world. Luckily, my Mother encouraged me to go to college and further my education. Your education will stay with you forever, opening many doors for you.

Spend Time With Loved Ones

Someday, your loved ones will not be with you, and you will regret not spending quality time with them. Remember to tell your loved ones how you feel about them. Tell your friends and family members that you love them and care about their well-being. Do not just take things for granted; people must know they are truly loved and cared about. Make time for people. Do not have your agenda only; help those in need, someone to talk to, and someone who will listen to their cares, worries, and concerns for the future. Make time for others before they leave your life, and you will not have regrets. Do not waste your time on things that will not help you or anyone else. Make the most out of your time and leave a positive impact on the world for you having been here.

Life On The Road

Life On The Road

Eating Out

Do not eat fast food while you are traveling on the road. Fast food has many more calories than a good meal from a restaurant. The fast will likely cost more than a good meal from the restaurant. Eating something good for you is worth a bit of wait time. I would rather have a salmon meal with vegetables, soup, or baked potato. Fast foods are very fattening; if you order a hamburger and fries, you hardly get any vegetables except one lettuce leaf and one tomato slice, and they generally throw in a large soda loaded with calories. Eat healthy, wiser, and better foods for a better and healthier life. I knew a person who ate fast food all of the time while on the road, and she could hardly move, and it led to an early death.

Give Yourself Time

If you tire of driving, take a coffee and take a break. Find an attraction in the area and check it out; you will most likely be glad you did. Give yourself at least two hours’ leeway, as there may be road construction and detours to your destination. Never show up late, as that says a lot about you. It tells the other person your time is important, but their time is not.

Finding Lodging

Always try to make reservations. Driving all night to find a place to rest will wear you out even more than driving in heavy traffic. Always plan, and then you will eliminate many problems. If you find your lodging unacceptable, tell them and find a better place to stay the night. I had excellent lodging at this cabin-like house.

Snacks While Driving

If you want chips, eat a healthy energy bar, almonds, walnuts, or baked potato chips. Avoid sugary foods and fried foods if you can. You might want to drink a healthy energy drink as many new ones do not have sugar except natural juice. I like natural juice drinks, vegetable drinks, and water.

Go For A Walk For A Break From Driving

I like to find a park to walk in or walk while looking at the stores in a town. After driving for three hours or more, walking relaxes the muscles in your legs and helps your back. Talk to other people walking, and they may tell you about a must-see attraction in their town.

Driving Everyday On Busy Roads

Always watch out for the other guy on the road. The other guy may do the unexpected. I had a lady do a U-turn at a one-way intersection. I honked at her, and she finally realized she was going the wrong way when another car and she met face to face. At least no one got killed or injured since they did not collide.

You Have Arrived At Your Destination

I hope you have a good and successful business trip and that your vacation is everything you want it to be. Ask people what you should see and find the top ten attractions by asking Alexa or Google. Read what travel bloggers have said about things to do and see where you are. Safe driving and safe travels.

Do Not Get Stuck On One Page In Your Life

If you focus on one thing that happened in your life years ago, you will not be able to move to the next page. Life is like turning the pages in a book. Somedays, everything will tend to go wrong that, possibly, can go wrong. If you turn the page and proceed to the next page, you could potentially have a fantastic, memorable, and relaxing day. I am glad to turn the pages in my book of life because that is living life to its full potential.

Your Life Will Have Many Chapters In It, So Keep Turning Those Pages With Joy

The first chapter will be the day you were born and how much joy you gave your parents. They watched you walk across the room for the first time and say the word, Momma. They took you to school for the first time and accused you you would be fine. They asked you how you liked school. You finally walked or rode your bike to school on your own. The teenage years can be complicated for parents and teenagers. The teenager thinks they know it all, and they try to test out their boundaries. By high school, the teenager is more mature and can drive and decide what they want to pursue. The parents are happy to see their young adult graduate from high school, get a job, or go to college to further their education. When I graduated from high school, I celebrated at home, and friends and relatives came. We had ice cream and cake. I went on to college and took all the business courses I could, which have helped me with my career. You may get married and start a family that brings great joy and love.

Travel Can Be A Wonderful Chapter In Your Life

You will have many pages to turn in your book of life when you travel. Traveling opens up a whole new world for you to see and explore. Traveling enriches the soul and mind. I loved traveling to the countries that my ancestors came from and walking down the same streets they did in the 1600s. I learned what some of them had done years ago when I mentioned their last name. When I went to the country my great-grandfather came from, I saw the farm he grew up on and met with one of my cousins and her children. The farm where he grew up had a brick home built in 1949, and the man who lived there was still related to my family. The church my grandfather went to was still there and held some family history. I am sure glad that I traveled to the countries where my great grandparents on both sides of my family had come from. I loved turning to the next page of my life.

The Key To A Long Life

You look forward to another day and think, “This the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” You long each day to turn another page in your book of life.

Take The Less Traveled Road

Take The Less Traveled Road

I Like To Take The Back Roads While Traveling

We took a back road in southern Iowa and discovered a quaint old grocery store. The store had an original wooden screen door with an old metal Wonder Bread sign attached to the middle of the door. We drove through what once was a small town, and the only business left was the old grocery store. It was a Sunday afternoon when I saw the store. I wish we had driven through the town on a weekday as I would have loved to visit that old grocery store inside. I have found old hardware, antiques, appliances, and furniture stores. I adored looking at the architecture of the buildings, visiting with the owners about the history of the buildings, and buying a few items now and then. I love old hardware stores as you can purchase old stock that is new and well-made.

Go In A Old Store If You See One

I grew up next to a small town with an old general store still operating there. It had a post office, food, tools, dishes, irons, paper, guns, and more. I liked the old floors in the building, the ceiling, and the wainscoting, and I loved the old cylinder gas pumps in front of the store. I loved to visit with the couple that owned the store. The woman who owned the store gave me a painted turtle that I named Skipper. Skipper lived in a shoebox in our house. He ate cottage cheese and lettuce. When he got big, we let him loose by the creek by our place, and my Father spotted him years later. He was huge and happy living off the land. I went to an old opera house once, and they told me they were packed every night from the 1920s through the 40s. The new owner was restoring it entirely as a bed and breakfast.

Don’t Always Follow The Leader Dance To The Beat Of Your Drum

If you know someone is in the wrong, do not follow them. Don’t you have to do anything wrong to get accepted into a group? You do not want to be in that group, for it will destroy you. The devil will try to lead you astray many times in your life. Take the right road for you, and do not let the devil control you or influence you or bad people or their evil ways. Stay connected to God through prayer and faith.

Small Town Stores That Offer Much More Than You Ever Dreamed Of

I found a fantastic clothing store in a small town, and every time I went to that town, I headed to the clothing store, an old soda fountain shop, and the hardware store. Old stores going out of business are an excellent way to find old stock items that are new at closeout pricing. I will always look for an old soda fountain shop and others with lots of history behind them. Visit with the owners, and you will learn a lot about the town’s history, as every town has a history and story to tell. Travel on the less traveled roads, and you will be amazed and thankful that you did.

Shopping In A Small Town Not Far From Where You Live

I like to shop in small towns as they are family-owned and operated. They are very friendly and welcoming when you enter their store and offer excellent service with a smile. If I ever have problems with any of my purchases, they make it suitable for me right away, and they remember me and call me by name when I enter their store. I love the small-town atmosphere. I have gotten wonderful deals on items in small towns. Some of their things have been on their shelves for some time, and they never raised their prices like in larger stores. If you have a hard-to-find older tool, go to an old hardware store, and you will find a quality tool. I once found wonderful new furniture in a small town, and they were glad every time they saw me come in. I have been to many small-town bakeries and found goodies that melt in your mouth.

I Love Driving Around The Lake In A Town Not Far From Me

Watching the boats on the lake and seeing the people having a good time is fun. I can see expensive boats and canoes and kayaks. There is a paddle-wheel boat that gives rides around the lake that I love to go on once a year. I love looking at the fancy homes built right next to the lake. The architecture in some of them is unique. I love to grab a coffee from a coffee shop and watch the boat, or people have a fabulous Farmers market in the tow next to the vast. They have giant vegetables, fresh vegetables, baked goods, handmade items, and much more. Their fireworks on the Fourth of July are fantastic. They also have art in the park and antiques sold once a year. They have Christmas by the lake and kite flying in March.

Rejuvenate Your Soul

Taking short drives is suitable as you can get out and enjoy your day with family or friends. Being cooped up in your house is not suitable for your frame of mind. You can get a different perspective if you stop and smell the roses. As the old saying goes, all work and no play makes Jack dull. Get out with people often, as you will never regret what you did. Travel and unravel and find new inner peace. You can learn a great deal by traveling, even if it is just a short drive, not more than 150 miles from home. You will be amazed by all the treasures you find daily while living your life to its fullest potential. Ride your bike in the great outdoors or your convertible with the wind flying through your hair. I love to travel and shop in small towns. Find Your place that you will repeat going to over and over again.

Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost In Travel

One woman was on vacation in Europe, riding in a self-driving taxi that would not let her out of the car until it ran out of gas. The car kept driving her around the area she wanted to see for 6 hours. She was livid once she finally got out of the taxi from Hell. She had a limited number of days while traveling abroad, and she lost almost a whole day in the cab that would not stop until it had no gas in its tank. If you are enjoying yourself on vacation and get robbed, it ruins the whole vacation forever for you in that area. We almost got stuck in a Motel from the famous movie years ago. We asked for a different room, and then everything was beautiful, how a vacation should and can be. Be always careful and alert while traveling, and learn to expect the unexpected, which can be fantastic or a complete disaster.

Paradise Lost Because You Did Not Follow The Rules

God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the fruit tree. They disobeyed and ate from the tree anyway. They then became knowledgeable about the ways of the World. They could have lived in Eden, the land of Paradise, forever if they had not eaten the forbidden fruit. Humans always have to try to go after the forbidden fruit now and then, and it can lead to financial ruin, the end of relationships, friendships, and God’s trust, which is the worst. Some people try to make money illegally, which will get the best of them when it is all said and done. They may have to spend their entire lives in prison for their crimes. Work hard and earn your money, and you will have a great sense of accomplishment that you can support and make a living for yourself and your family. “Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be Happy with Jesus but to trust and obey.” God will always lead you on the right path to a happy, blessed, and fulfilled life if you let him into your life and follow his teachings.

If You Do Not Have Your Health, You Do Not Have Your Wealth

When you are young and strong and healthy, you have the World and all it has to offer in your hands. A young person can accomplish many things in one day quickly and successfully. You can run and not run out of breath and efficiently lift heavy objects. As we age, we cannot accomplish what we used to be able to do in one day. We must write a smaller to-do list of what we must do today. Good health never comes to some people in their entire lifetime. Some people are born with heart defects, cancer, congenital disabilities, etc. They do not complain, and they make the best of their situation. God will help us with all kinds of health battles, and some of us can serve God and others better after health problems have awakened us. Paradise is different for all of us. Paradise is all around us if we look for it, and some people never see Paradise in anything as they only see negativity.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Where Do We Go From Here?

Working And Retirement

When I work at a job, I do my best possible work. If I complete my task early, I move on to the next task. I never sit down and have a break until it is break time. I do not like people that sit and play games on their computer on the company’s time as that is not clever. You are robbing the company and the people that come into it as they have to raise their prices because you have not completed your daily task. If one person does not do their work, it lands on everyone that comes through the doors of that business in sum way or the other.                   In my retirement years, I want to take in as much as possible and relax, enjoy nature, travel, and go to new places. Keep busy in retirement and do not dwell on what could have been, as that is a total waste of time and energy that could have had positivity. Spend time with your loved ones and your family, and maybe go on a vacation together. Enjoy your golden years to the best of your ability, and always think of what you can do instead of what you cannot do. Stay positive for a long and rewarding life. You empower your life and never let an illness empower you. Thank God every day for your many blessings.

Traveling

Sometimes unplanned day trips can be the most fun as you do not have a schedule, and you can do and see what you want. I’m not too fond of trips that have the whole day planned. I like trips with at least 2 hours daily to do your own thing. Traveling can be tiring if you move to a new hotel every other night. I find trips very relaxing if I can explore and enjoy the town over three days without moving to a new location. If you have an excellent tour guide which I have most of the time, you will be able to see most of the highlights of each town or village you stop at. I love to try new foods and visit with the local people, and go shopping. I love concerts, historical places, museums, living history, and more. I started traveling in the USA and then decided to travel overseas. I quickly learned to pack a light suitcase and never regretted it. I loved learning the history of each place that I traveled to. I also loved that my ancestors had walked over those streets in the 1600s. My goal was to go to every country my ancestors had come from and see the area they had come from. I got to see the farm that my Great Grandfather had lived on before he came to America, and I also visited and had a delicious meal that my relatives had prepared for us upon our arrival. I loved staying at a small Swiss village in Giswil. The small village was like I had stepped back in time. I could hear the cows clanking their bells in the morning, and I loved their small, well-kept church. Keep traveling and enjoying life to its fullest potential. Remember the song: Ain’t nothing going to break my stride. I have to keep on moving now.

Enrichment

Enrichment

Spiritual Enrichment

You receive spiritual enrichment by reading the Bible and listening to your Pastor’s sermons. We also receive spiritual enrichment by being around people who tell us what has enriched their spirits. We all have a story about how someone has improved our souls or how God has helped us in times of trouble or turmoil. An enriched soul can accomplish so much more than one without enrichment.

Traveling

Traveling enriches the mind as we take in all the sights and sounds the World has to offer. By learning about different nations and foreign lands, we tend to bond with them and understand more about them. I love to travel, talk to, and visit with some of the people in each country I have traveled to over the years. Traveling uplifts your mind and spirit as you can leave your worries behind while traveling. When I travel, I am entirely stress-free while taking in the fabulous views and eating the foods each country offers. Travel removes the clutter from the soul. Traveling releases the inner you and broadens your horizons. No one can ever take away the memories of your trips as they stay with you forever.

Education

Education will take you far in life. If you are well informed, you make decisions that will lead to the road to success. An idle mind is like rust on a car as it could have gone far in life, but now it cannot help anyone. Read books as they enrich you with knowledge. When reading a book, think about what the author is trying to tell me or the author’s state of mind while writing that sentence or paragraph. I love to read history books. We are bound to repeat past events without reading or knowing about them. Education takes the mind to new heights. An educated person can add so much to society.

Our Job

Do you have a job that enriches you? I hope you have a job that makes you feel productive and happy. There is nothing worse than going to a job that you dread. We should want to do the best work that we possibly can do at our job. Your job should help people or offer them a service that enriches their lives. Some people say they do enough at their job to get by. Are you getting by with it? I think not, as God is watching you at work. If you worked for God, I do not believe he would accept a poor job. Think about that the next time you try to skip one detail in your work.

What Enriches Your Life

Excellent relationships with people enrich your life in many positive ways. We need a good relationship with God, family, friends, and people we talk to and work with. Children enrich our lives in many beautiful ways. Pets bring us companionship and comfort when we are lonely or sick. We have so many lovely people and adventures that enrich our lives daily. God bless you and yours.

Where To Find Relaxation

Where To Find Relaxation

Travel

I find traveling very relaxing once I arrive at my destination. If I arrive early enough in the day, I will go on a little shopping trip. I also look at the menus posted outside of the restaurants and decide which one I will stop at for my evening meal. I find a coffee shop and ask some of the locals what they think I should see in the area. I love to look in museums and attend concerts, operas and more. I love looking at new and beautiful scenery. Travel opens up your mind to new experiences and adventures that no one can ever take away from you. I love European travel, traveling in the USA, day trips, and small-town shopping. I love to stay at the same hotel, so I so not have to move around if possible. It is nice to have a central location when you travel that is located between what you want to do and see. By having that prime location, you can walk to everything and see more if you took a taxi there. I look forward to travel and enjoy it very much. I love traveling with a great travel companion as you can share your fun experiences with each other for years to come. Happy travels ahead for all.

Outdoors

I am very relaxed when I work outdoors in the spring and thru the winter. Breathing in the fresh air and moving around outdoors refreshers one’s mind body and soul. I love working in the soil in my garden, weed whacking, lawn mowing, shoveling, moving snow with a snow blade and painting outside. I love to watch the animals at all times of the year. I love to see the small baby animals and squirrels gathering up nuts for the long winter months, I love to the birds eating at my bird feeder and watching them gather up their nesting materials. I had a skunk that had her babies by my house, and she took off with them when they were grown. Outdoors is my favorite place to be to enjoy what God has created for us. We are stewards of the land, and we have dominion over the animals, and we should care for them and never mistreat them. We our one of God’s creatures also.

Pets

Pets bring lots of relaxation to our lives. It is very relaxing to have a cat resting on your lap purring away. Watching animals at play is relaxing as they chase each other’s tails or throw a ball or toy in the air. A resting pet seems not to have a care in the world. Pets can be all sprawled out and happily sound to sleep in pet dreamland. When one’s cat takes a catnap sometimes, we join them. Pets bring joy into our lives every day. Our pets are like family, and we love them like family.

Food

Eating your favorite foods can be very relaxing. A large piece of banana cream pie or a chocolate candy bar can relax one after a hard day at work. Eating a fancy evening meal can relax one immensely. I love flavored coffees and fruit smoothies. I look forward to one at least twice a week. Now go out and eat your favorite food or have your favorite beverage and you will be relaxed.

Stay On The Road Less Traveled

Stay On The Road Less Traveled

Do Not Follow The Herd

Just because your friends are doing something does not mean that you have to do it with them. If your friend wants, you to do something you know in your heart is not right do not do it and discourage them from doing it also. I got to know an older gentleman that was in that position, and he told me what he did about it. When he was in 7th grade a group of his friends wanted to knock over tombstones in the cemetery, He got to the cemetary an hour before they got there, and he hid back of a tombstone. When any classmate of his would next to a tombstone he would say in a ghostly voice get away from my tombstone and they took off running faster than a bolt of lightning never to return to that cemetery again. He fixed the problem in a creative way that worked. If you follow the herd, you will be trampled to death in the end. Never throw away your values of what you know is just and right and try to discourage others, if possible, form wrongdoing.

The Road Less Traveled Has A Lot Of Interesting Things To See

One time I had to take a detour on an old mountain road, and I kept climbing higher and higher with my car. At the mountain peak there was an old abandoned mine with tombstones dating back to 1749. I walked around and looked at the old tombstones for a while and I also examined the old mine from the outside. Once driving on a backroad in Iowa I discovered an old grocery store that looked like it came out of the thirties. The grocery store had an old wooden screen door and an old metal Wonder Bread sign on the door and an old cylinder type gas pump in front. I wish they would have been open to look at everything. I have attended church services at little old churches in the country and I enjoyed each service and looking at the wood in the church pews and how each church was built. One church had 10 by 10 rafters in the basement. I have had wonderful meals at the churches also. I was driving through Missouri and a sign said they were having an evening spaghetti supper, so I had my delicious supper there. I have gone to old hardware stores with wooden floors, and I have found a lot of useful items to buy such as tools, furniture, appliances, bowls and much more. Antique stores are fun to walk through and see things that take you back to your childhood memories. I like shopping in small towns as you can find most anything by taking a day trip through the small towns.

People That Do Not Follow God

They will generally follow the herd even though they know it is bad. Follow your faith and what you know is correct by Gods teachings. Follow the Ten Commandments as it is not called the ten suggestions. Stay on the road less traveled when the open Hi- Way leads to destruction of your soul.
