Playful Kittens

Kittens love to play with their mother’s tail. Their mother will put up with it for a long time before she gives them a little tap on their nose. Kittens love to romp around and wrestle with each other. Kittens especially love to bounce around and get into things while you are sleeping or not watching them closely. Kittens will test their boundaries by jumping on your table, scratching your furniture, knocking things over, climbing your drapes, and more. Kittens will play with almost anything desirable to play within your home. Keep plastic bags, choking hazards, medicine, and poisons out of reach, as your kitten may play with them or swallow them and end up dying. Kittens love to play with small bright colored cat toys. Kittens are fun to have around; with your tender, loving care, you will have a loving feline companion.

Grown Cats At Play

Grown cats love to play with a live mouse by tossing it around before they kill it and eat it. My adult cats love to play with each other’s tails. My cats love it when one of my other cats licks and grooms his head for him. Adult cats love to get into mischief and run away quickly while your young cat is standing there, and you end up blaming the young cat, which is what they wanted all along. Cats are very jealous creatures and enjoy all of your attention, even if it is negative. My cats tend to act up when I am talking on the phone because they want my attention. I finally kept quiet as I stopped scolding them when they did that, and they soon stopped that annoying behavior. Grown cats love to get into hissing contests now and then, as that is one of their ways of declaring that they are the top cat in your house. Any cat that is part Siamese loves to pick a fight with any other cat in your house that they feel is a treat to their top cat ranking in your home.

Cats And Toys And Beds

Cali went through my house and picked out any toys my other cats had not played with, and she declared them as her toys. Cali is part Siamese and loves letting that shine through when she wants to. She has said herself the top cat in my house. My cat’s next door do not mind sharing their toys. My cats have picked out the beds they want to sleep in, and no other cat may enter but them or their select group. Some cats wish to have windowsill beds, heated small building beds, towels with cushions, or cat hammock scratching post beds with a ball attached. Circle game toys, catnip mice, bright colored balls, small stuffed animals, and cat treat dispenser toys are their favorites. Cats are very playful, fun, and relaxing to watch. God bless our wonderful and loving feline friends.

Orchestra Of Life

Life Is Like An Orchestra

We all have our jobs or duties to perform in life. If one person does not pull his weight, all others will be out of kilter. When one person misses a note or key in an orchestra, it can be heard by all and ruins the concert for a while. Some things in our lives our orchestrated for us. We go to school for a certain number of years and then are expected to find a job that will contribute to society. We must work together toward specific goals or values to have everything come together in perfect harmony. One person can indeed upset the apple cart if you let him. If everyone remembers to hit the right notes in his life, we can leave the world in a better place.

Find Your Right Instrument In Life

If you like what you are doing in life, you can contribute much to the people who depend on you. If you go to a job just because you think you have to, you will not be able to hit the right notes and ruin the concert of life for you and others. Make sure to touch people’s lives and leave a positive, uplifting impression on them, just like a lovely musical concert that is well orchestrated. If you are good at fixing things, pursue something in that line of work. Pursue something that will ignite a spark in you and others. Be the instrument in life that you think will play the best music.

Gods Orchestra

God has an Orchestra of followers. Jesus had the disciples that helped him spread his word. God had Mosses lead his chosen people out of Egypt. All of us can teach each other about God, follow him in worship, and praise him all our days. A United group with the same beliefs can benefit many people when they unite with a common goal. As followers of God in good standing, we can have a perfect Symphony that never seems to miss a single note. When many people contribute to help people that are down and out, many mouths can be fed, and people who have started to lose faith in a man can restore their confidence and trust in a man who helped the very poor. In his later years, he was worth millions. He would visit with people, and then, based on what they told him, he would send them anonymous gifts to help them out of the situation that they were in. He would put a note in the envelope with the money to pass it on when they could—one of the men sent a check and a message to become a college professor. The professor paid for several students to complete their doctorate degrees, and one student won a prize for what he discovered in medicine. I hope you will be one of God’ss disciples on earth and help the world play a symphony orchestrated to perfection that never misses a single note. The orchestra of life has perfect harmony when everyone works with God.

Smart Cats

Cats Learn Your Day To Day Routines Quickly

Cats know what time of the day you will be feeding them. My cat’s next door look out of the windows every day at about the same time to see if I am headed their way with fresh water. They seem to know I will feed them canned cat food every other day. They know when I am trying to catch them to bring them to the Vet or if I will pet them or give them a special treat. If I do not get out of bed by a specific morning, my cats begin to meow until I answer them and tell them I am OK. When my cats see me taking my purse, they know I will be gone for a while on an errand. They stand by their water dish until I give them fresh water. My cats have learned what time of day I pull down my shades for the night, so they sit by the picture window to take a last time to look at the birds eating for the day. When they see me brushing my teeth at night, they get into their cat beds at about the same time I get to bed for the evening.

Luggage

When my cats see luggage setting out, they get anxious because they know I will be gone on a long trip. My cats watch me pack my bags. One time one of my cats jumped in my luggage, and all I could see was their tail sticking out. My cat wanted to go where I went as he did not want to be left alone with his roommates. Once my luggage sits by the door, they know I will be gone in a day or two.

Trying To Escape My Vet Visit

Cats will try to do anything to escape that dreaded visit to the Vet. My cat’s next door know that when they see a cage or fishnet, they go to the Vet for their yearly shots and checkups. They run and hide in the different cat beds and small buildings. They hope to wear me out entirely, so I forget about their Vet visit. Nicole will try to bite you, and she has succeeded twice. Nicole will do almost anything, hoping she won’t go to the Vet. Nicole will never get one over on me, as she will go to the Vet no matter what kind of performance she puts on. They have practically succeeded in wearing me out as I have had to sit down and rest before driving to my Vet with my reluctant patients meowing and complaining. On the way home from the Vet, they are quiet as little church mice.

Cats Try To Warn You Of Danger

Sebastian growled at a man walking on the road late at night. He saw him through the picture window; I had not pulled down the shades yet. Garfunkel growled at about 10:30 PM the night of a tornado. The tornado touched down in town at 10:40 PM.

Helpful Cats

Ginger rented a house for me. She turned on my answering machine for me, and that party left a message, and they rented my house. She did a good job, as they were excellent tenants. Cats have alerted their owners of dangers in their homes, such as fires, gas leaks, and more. My cat cornered a bat for me once, and I got it outdoors. Cats kill and keep the rodent population down. Cats know when you are not feeling good and sit on your lap and comfort you with their soft meows and purring. Cats are lovely, loving, and loyal companions. I would not want to be in a world without cats.

Faith

Faith In The Unknown

True faith is faith in the unknown. Faith knows when things go against you, they will eventually get better. We never know from day to day what may happen in our lives. It is easy to have faith when all is going well in your life. Faith knows when you are in darkness; the light will always prevail over the darkest days in your life with God. When we cannot see something in our lives, it is harder to have faith that it will be given. The older we get, the closer we get to understanding the true meaning of faith in our lives. I believe that God will provide me with shelter, food, and the necessary provisions in my life. I do not have to see God realize that he exists as I feel a connection with him in my daily life. When we plant a seed in the soil, we have faith that the seed will grow into a beautiful plant. We cannot see heaven but know it exists in our hearts and souls. When you are sick, God stays by your side 24 -7 to comfort and protect you. I have total faith in God and his plans for me to accomplish on Earth while I am here.

With Faith, All Things Are Possible

Faith is complete confidence in someone or something. We believe our friends will always be there when we need them most. Faith is belief in God or the doctrines of religion. Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. Faith is the belief that God will do what is right. I believe that God will answer my prayers in his timeframe when I pray. We must have faith in ourselves and others that come into our lives. Some people do not have much faith in anything. They must remember if they have the ” faith of a mustard seed,” that will be enough. A faithless person gives up when the going gets rough, and the faithful person continues until the road is smooth again. People with severe health conditions that have a lot of faith are the ones that will overcome their adversities and learn to live with them and help other people with their health issues. God never gives up on us if we have faith in him. With God in your life, all things are possible. You must have faith in yourself before you can have faith in others. Never stop a project you love until you have used every avenue possible to achieve it. If you hit one roadblock in your life, have faith and keep moving forward; new doors and opportunities will awaken your faith even in the most challenging times because God has faith in you and will help lead you to the finish line. You will have a happy and rewarding life with God and your faith beside you.

Lawn Mowers

I have had many lawnmowers over the years and wish to share my experience with them. I had push mowers, self-propelled mowers, and garden tractors. The first walk-behind mowers had the old pull-string around the top of the motor, and they were tough to start. Later, we had a two-cycle engine mower that lost its compression and became worthless. We had a self-propelled mower that had its power from the wheels, and when the grass was a little damp, you had no control. The cheaper brands never stood up to the test of time. Some of my favorite mowers are Cooper with a cast aluminum frame, Snapper, and Toro self-propelled with a cast aluminum frame. My riding mowers over the years were Cub Cadet, Ariens, Toro, and John Deere. The old Cub Cadet was built to last, and it lasted for many years. We had several Ariens over the years. The Toro mowers mow nicely. My favorite riding mower is the John Deere 425, which I still have, and the new 700 series mowers. John Deere mowers are easy to change the oil and filters on, and most are low maintenance. I always buy the commercial deck as the steel decks rust out on all mowers, and without a deck, you have no lawn mower. The run-of-the-mill riding mower will not last over two years if you live on an acreage, as the deck will fall apart.

Garden Tillers

We had a front tine tiller, a rear tine, a small tiller, and a counter-rotating tiller. The front tine tiller lasted, but you had a workout going over the ground as maneuvering the tiller was hard and bumpy. The rear tine tiller was better, but the soil was still not lovely and finely ground. I had a tiny tiller that lasted about ten years and was excellent for weeding between the rows. I have a Craftsman counter-rotating tine tiller that I have had for 26 years, and it does an excellent job and still starts with at least the third pull of the rope. It is on its third spark plug. It does not use a drop of extra oil.

Weed Whackers

My favorite gas-powered weed whackers would be Stihl or Echo. I once had a small Homelite that did an excellent job. I had an Echo weed whacker that was twenty years old and still going strong. I now like my Worxs battery-operated weed whackers. I have a walk-behind weed whacker that is 24 years old, and it works and runs great.

Chain Saws

We had a large Jonsered commercial chain saw that never wore out. I had to sell it as it was too heavy to lift anymore. We had a small Homelite chain saw for a while. I now have a commercial Stihl chain saw I have had for at least 20 years, and she still cuts like butter. I have a small battery-operated Stihl chain saw that is excellent for small branches and trimming. I once had a Stihl pole trimmer, but I had to sell it as it was too heavy to lift high enough. I loved using the pole trimmer as it was handy and quick.

Storms

We Feel On Edge As Storms Approach

We have a feeling of helplessness when storms approach. We may feel nervous or tired as a storm comes into our area. We cannot control the weather, so we pray that God will help us. I read an article one day about a man praying that God would help him as a flood approached his area. He prayed and prayed that God would save him. First, a man came and said I would help you leave your home, and he said no, God would save me. The water kept rising, and a man in a boat said he would rescue him, and again, he said no, God would save him. The flood was so bad by now that he was on top of the roof of his house, and a helicopter came along and told him to get it in, and again, he said no, God would save him. The flood swallowed him up in the water, and he drowned. He asked God why he didn’t keep him, and God told him that he had tried three times to keep him when the men came to help him. Remember, you must always use common sense, as God works to protect you from disaster or harm in many ways.

Have A Safety Plan If A Storm Approaches Your Area

Have a safe spot in your basement or a closet that you might be safe in if you do not have a basement. Have a food supply in your secure area, and tell others where you will be hiding if something lands on you, so they know where to look for you. Have a flashlight, cell phone, medicine, extra clothing, and something to cover you so you will not get hurt as badly by flying glass or other items. Have a chair, pillow, and blanket if you intend to sleep in your basement. Train your pets to come to the basement when you call them, as you will not have time to gather them.

Storms At Night Are Especially Scary

When you cannot see an approaching storm, it is scary indeed. I always try to listen to the wind and thunder and see if I can see lightning bolts. The air has a different smell when a tornado is in the vicinity. The stand can smell like fresh dirt worked up in the field. I also know the distinct sound of a tornado. It does sound like a freight train coming down the tracks full speed ahead. If I hear the train noise, I am in the basement ASAP. Listen to a radio or listen to the alerts on your cell phone.

A Tornado Did Hit Our Farm Once

My father was in the machine shed and got in the tractor with a cab. Luckily he had the shed doors open on both ends, or it would have sucked him out of the shed. I saw a chisel plow lifted up and down, and its wings were never 100 % tight afterward. Luckily, we had a few windows open in the house, or it could have taken one side out of the upstairs of our home. The tornado removed the open doors from the machine shed, caused tree and roof damage, and sucked in the sides of our old barn. We had it taken down after that. My Mother and I took cover under a heavy table. Pray to God without ceasing and have an excellent safety plan. God bless us and help us in nature’s storms in life.

Busy Cat Routines

Bird Watching 101 From A Cats Point Of View

My cats must watch birds every day. My cats compete for the best spot to manage them. The windows next door have large cat trees with the optimal bird-watching view. My cat’s next door take turns for these premium spots for bird viewing. Some of my cats chatter when they see a bird that wets their taste buds. They seem to talk if there is a large group of birds or a brightly colored bird. My house cats sit by my picture window and watch the birds that bird feeders attract. They will get excited and leap at the window when a bird sits on the ledge of the window outdoors. If a bird crashes into the window, they see if the bird survived or if there is an easy meal under it.

TV Favorite Programs For Cats

Conrad likes to watch Law and Order and a few other programs. Garfunkel likes to watch auto racing, Judge Judy, Gunsmoke, nature programs with animals, fish, PBS, Grey’s Anatomy, etc. Cali likes to watch cooking programs, sewing programs, and Martha Stewart.

Hunting

When I had outdoor cats, they would start the day hunting in the ditches for mice and other small rodents. Some of my faster and younger cats could bring down a rabbit which made for an excellent meal for all my outdoor cats. I had one cat kill a skunk. The Skunk ate off a small portion of her face. Luckily, her face healed, and you would never know that anything had happened to her. We used to have a dark-colored calico cat that would kill garter snakes, and she would leave the dead snake by our door. Several cats would leave their catch of the day by our door. They wanted to give us a fantastic present and show their love for us in their mindset. Ginger, my Siamese house cat, saved me from a bat when my house was re-roofed. She wore the bat out so I could get rid of it safely outdoors.

Important Playtime With Cat Toys

Cats always pick out their cat toys of the day from their toy box. Small stuffed animals, balls, singing birds, catnip mice, and circular cat ball towers are a must for my cats. My cats have a treat ball they have to spin around before treating their cat treats. Cats are like a fish on the end of a stick as they jump at it and hold it until you pull on it and repeat the process.

Exercise And Cat Naps

My cats love to run up and down my steps as one of their daily exercise routines. Getting into the proper position for the perfect cat nap takes a lot of time for my cats. My cat’s next door run after one another through the house. Cats love to wrestle with one another as a gentle form of play. My cats will groom each other to perfection, showing that they care for each other. All cats have busy cat routines; some are more active than others.

Basic Gardening

Laying Out Your Garden

I try to rotate my garden crops every year. By moving your garden crops around, you do not deplete your soil with the necessary nutrients for what you are growing in that area. Rotation also improves the number of garden pests, weeds, and fungi you must deal with. I plant my squash in the corner of my garden so the vines will not grow over and prevent sunshine from getting to my other garden goods. I try to plant items that will not last so long on the edge of my garden. I always grow my tomatoes in a row with cages around them. I use two rows of green beans side by side, making picking the beans easier.

Garden Fertilizer

I buy garden fertilizer from a local garden center. I put fertilizer on my garden at the beginning of the season and the end of the season. I work the fertilizer into the ground with my garden tiller. Once my seeds are established, I sprinkle weed preventer around the plants and between the rows. I put wood chips around my tomato plants and green beans to prevent plant fungus that can kill off beans and tomatoes. Remember to sprinkle more weed preventers around your plants according to the directions on the container.

Garden Tilling

Always work up your garden soil at the start of the season. Till in between the rows to help prevent weeds. Tilling loosens up your soil so your plants can absorb necessary nutrients easier, get a more extensive rot base, and produce a bountiful harvest for you and your family. Weeds rob your plants of nutrients and make your garden look unattended.

Planting Your Garden

I plant garden seeds, and I love to watch them grow. I buy tomato plants, eggplants, and squash plants. I use an old garden hose, make a ridge for my seeds, and gently cover the bases. I place paper around the bottom of my plant so rootworms will not eat off the plants. Ensure you leave enough room between your rows for quickly weeding and picking your products.

Thinning Out Your Seeds

Pull out plant seeds that are way too thick. By thinning out your plants, you will have more extensive, healthier plants that produce more. You can remove extra tomatoes from your plants by trimming off additional leaders. If you have a sick-looking tomato plant or another plant, remove it so your other plants will not become infected.

Harvesting The Fruits Of Your Labor

It would be best to have-looking and other plants you eat. e eating fresh garden lettuce, radishes, Swiss chard, and other greens ready early in the gardening season. I never get tired of eating fresh green beans and butternut squash. I freeze squash and green beans, which I enjoy eating in the winter. I have raspberry bushes in my garden that produce well. I love raspberries in my breakfast food in the morning. An apple tree makes for a beautiful apple sauce or apple pies. I have some rhubarb plants that I make rhubarb crisp with. I hope you have a bountiful harvest from your garden this year.

A Picture Or A Precious Moment Captured

We take pictures on a trip to capture a particular moment’s scenery or experience. We may take photos of the beautiful meal if we eat a fine dinner. We may write about the trip we took and the sights we saw so we can tell others what to do and see if they take a trip to that area someday. We carry many babies and other pictures of our children as they grow. We want to remember how they looked at that particular age and what they were interested in at that time. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I agree. We can take videos of people who are up to no good, and they stand up in a court of law to convict them of their crimes. Young people constantly post things on social media, and many have been convicted based on what they publish. Artists capture beautiful scenery on their canvas or portraits of people. When you write or do something, is that how you want people to view you as a person throughout eternity? For every action we do, there is a reaction, and let’s make sure it is a positive one that will please God and others.

God Captures All Of Our Moments 24/7

How do you want to present yourself to God every day? Will your actions be pleasing to God and others? I try my best every day to please God. I want my actions for the day to be positive, and I do not want to bring any negativity into the lives of others based on what I have done in my day. God watches what you do every day you live on earth. Do you want God to capture a good picture of your inner soul? Your answer should be yes. If you think something you want to do will hurt someone, get that feeling out of your head ASAP. Do not be a follow-the-leader type of person. Just because all of your friends or colleagues are doing something does not make a wrong right. If you know something is inherently evil, then it most definitely is. God is writing a journal about us constantly. How do we want his journal on what we have done and accomplished in our lives to be written? I hope mine would say I have helped and visited with many people and tried to bring a little more sunshine into their lives. We should pray to God without ceasing to guide us on the path that will be most useful to him and others. I try to be kind, compassionate, caring, loving, hopeful, peaceful, joyful, and considerate of other people’s feelings. I love animals and do my best to care for and protect them. Do your best in life, put your best foot forward, follow the Ten Commandments, and be one of God’s good shepherds to all you meet as you go through life’s daily travels or happenings. Be a humble and loving servant.

Rustic Brew is Located In Hampton, Iowa

Rustic Brew has a mild blend of delightful coffee with no strong aftertaste. I love all of their various coffee drinks and brews. The atmosphere in the restaurant is charming and appealing. I love their lunch specials and all of their excellent homemade soups. They have homemade chicken soup of various kinds, tomatoes, and many others. I love their extra-large chocolate cookies with huge melted pieces of chocolate in the cookies. I love their large Rueben sandwiches as they are very generous with their meat.

Bean And Bistro is Located In Northwood, Iowa

I love all of her extra-large cinnamon rolls at Bean And Bistro. I especially love the cream cheese cinnamon roll. She makes the best everything hashbrowns I have ever had. I have eaten her breakfast sandwiches which taste delicious. I love her paninis and wraps. She always has lunch specials, and you can order cinnamon rolls in advance since they sell out soon in the morning.

Three On The Tree is Located In Mason City, Iowa

I love her homemade Wisc. Cheese soup at Three on the Tree. They also sell corn chowder and chicken wild rice soup. They have quiche, cheesecake, bread pudding, and biker bars with oats and grains. I love their lattes and cold coffee drinks. They sell scones and other treats. They used to sell Dodge vehicles in the building, and she has a picture of people waiting for service and an old lite-up garage sign.

Scooters Located In Clear Lake, Iowa

When I want a quick coffee drink or treat, I drive to the Scooters pickup window. I love their lattes and their cold coffee drinks. I love their peach mango smoothies. Scooter’s coffee is mild, with no strong aftertaste. They are quick and efficient with your coffee orders.

Starbucks is Located In Mason City, Iowa

Starbucks Carmel macchiatos are a favorite of mine. I love the various sandwiches from Starbucks and their quick bread. I love the turkey jerky they sell in their restaurant, which has no nitrates. I love their dragon berry cold drink and their peach smoothies. Starbucks always seems to have healthy snacks and food.

Country Cupboard is Located In Osage, Iowa

I love their lattes with added flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut, and more at Country Cupboard. They have a good selection of large homemade muffins to choose from. They have a fantastic atmosphere, and their restaurant is spotless. They have homemade cinnamon rolls, which sell out in a hurry.

Block 10, Located In Sheffield, Iowa

They have an incredible wrap filled with turkey and cut-up avocados at Block 10. I love their homemade soups. I have had their loaded potato soup and bisque tomato soup. They have daily lunch specials. I love the old fire truck in part of the restaurant. They also have a Sundae bar which I will try out as the weather gets warmer. I love their chocolate eclairs that are filled with Belgium cream. They have a lovely gift shop upstairs.

Black Sheep Coffee Baa is Located In Greene, Iowa

She has excellent coffee drinks with a pleasant and inviting atmosphere at Black Sheep Coffee Baa. I have had her wraps and excellent homemade soups. I love the almond letters that she bakes. She bakes cookies, bread, muffins, and much more. I love her old stove and other items in her coffee shop and bakery. I always bring home at least six almond letters that I put in my freezer and eat at a later date.
