Maggie ate up all of her Pro Plan Chicken with rice entree ASAP. Next door, Mr. Gray came running with his two brothers, and Faith and Cali were right on their tails. I gave the Duck and Salmon Dinner in Gravy to Maggie, my outdoor cat, who devoured it quickly. I gave my cat next door some and a pouch of Chicken, Turkey, and Salmon Dinner in Gravy. Hilford, Mr. Gray, Russ, and Addi licked their plate completely clean. Cali, Faith, and Sherlock ate off a different scale and kept meowing for more. I had a very petite and tiny black kitten born on my farm. She would follow my Father and me all over the farm. She would do the same thing if someone came to visit us. She was always underfoot, and we were afraid we would accidentally step on her and kill her. She was a very kind and loving little female kitten. She knew enough to stay away from cars and farm machinery. If I tried to run so she could not catch up with me, it did not work. The minute I turned around, she was right there, johnny on the spot.

She would eat a fair amount of cat food, but she never seemed to grow. I thought she would always remain tiny for her age. She was very healthy and could run like the wind. She had her rabies and distemper shots and checked out fine with my vet. I think our dog got a little annoyed with her sometimes because she would also follow our dog all around the farm when we were in the house.

I put an ad in our local newspaper under giveaways. I feared someone would eventually step on her and kill her by accident. A lovely young couple answered my ad. I told the couple she was tiny and would probably stay that way for the rest of her life. The couple came out to our farm and fell in love with her the minute they saw her. I asked for their name and phone number so I could check up on her later.

I waited about a year before I called the young couple and asked them how the kitten was coming along. They told me that she turned out to be a sizeable female cat and that they loved her so much they got another cat to keep her company. I was glad my young cat found an excellent and loving home.

Haste Makes Waste

If you attack a project quickly and do not put a lot of thought into it, you may end up with an absolute mess. Have an idea of what you want to accomplish in one day and stick to it, and you will be surprised by how much you can get done in one day. Fortitude and gratitude will take you far in life. Doing half a job will show that you only did half a job. Employers want someone reliable and will stick with a project and complete it on time. Make your career to the best of your ability and with a compassionate, loving, grateful, and caring heart, and you will reap the rewards for a job well done.

Research a product or service before you sign on the dotted line, or you may have regrets for a long time. If you repair something for someone, treat the project exactly how you would improve the item for your use. Check on contractors and service providers before you hire them, or you may be in for a rude awakening. There are many fly-by-night repair people worldwide, so do your homework before you get taken to the cleaners.

I had a roofer once that hardly used any nails to hold down the shingles, and the valleys were cut wrong, and I had to re-roof again in 8 years. Haste makes waste and also wastes your time and your money. Do not take shortcuts with any repairs, leading to more extensive and expensive repairs. If you do a job, do it like you would want it done in your house, as no one wants a hasty job done with a lot of waste and time. Life waits for no man, so do not waste your precious moments on earth and always do a job that others will be proud of for years.

I had a guided tour of Alcatraz, and our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Alcatraz Penitentiary. He was an excellent guide and said the worst thing for prisoners on Alcatraz was to hear the nightlife and people laughing and having a good time in San Francisco while they were stuck on the Rock.

I was impressed with the size of Alcatraz and its vast history over the years. Alcatraz has 104 years of prison history. It started as a military prison in 1859 and ended in 1963 when the last inmates left the Rock and Alcatraz to be transferred elsewhere. Remnants of each time frame can be seen today; the National Park Service has had a caretaker for the island since 1972. The water in San Francisco Bay is only 58 degrees. Escaping to the island is challenging as the body can quickly go into hypothermia and shut down in the cold, frigid waters.

Alcatraz is under preservation. The buildings are getting new roofs and repainted so future generations can learn the history of Alcatraz. The jail cells are only five ft. wide, nine ft. deep, and seven ft. high, which are very small. Al Capone was a prisoner on the Rock, with George ” Machine Gun ” Kelly and more.

Alcatraz is one of the top places people have on their bucket lists to see. Paris and the Eiffel tower are number one. People are interested in Alcatraz and the various attempts made over the years to escape the Rock. The movie escape from Alcatraz has also made seeing Alcatraz in person tempting and exciting. The method of out in the movie was the same attempt the actual prisoners made while stuck on the Rock. They removed the grate in their cell and put homemade heads in their beds, and when the guards hit their beds, the artificial heads rolled to the floor. Alcatraz had 1500 prisoners pass through its doors over the years.

There are violent video games that our kids may watch today. A Mother had a two-year-old boy that was acting out. She took her son to her Doctor, and he asked her how he spent his days. She said he enjoyed playing video games. His favorite game was that you kept shooting the heads off of men. Her Doctor told her that it was no wonder her son was acting out and misbehaving. Her Doctor told her to no longer let her son play violent video games. Her son’s behavior improved quickly after he stopped playing violent video games.

Our movies and TV programs always show someone with violent behavior, such as shooting, swearing, stealing, committing adultery, and lying. This is one of the reasons we have so much crime. Our children grow up watching this inappropriate behavior, and unfortunately, they have become what they have cared for years on TV and in the movies. The cartoons for little children have gotten very violent over the years. They cannot distinguish between make-believe and what is confirmed at this young age. They may shoot someone and think they will come back to life again, as some of the cartoon characters do. A young child does not understand or comprehend death yet. Do not let your children watch violent movies or TV programs. They will think that the violent person is excellent and a hero and follow their terrible pattern of behavior.

We are constantly reading about shootings and crimes in the newspaper. We read about robberies, stabbings, shootings, and much more. Our job as parents, educators, and good stewards is to lead young people down the right road in life.

I first gave the Blue kitty yums tuna recipe to Maggie, and they made her day. I then delivered some to my cat next door. They disappeared before I could see who had eaten them up. I put some on top of Maggie’s food this morning, and you would have thought I fed her a luscious dessert. She was beyond thrilled as she ate it. What does it take to be happy in life? Happiness has a different meanings to various people. What makes one person happy will not necessarily make another person happy.

Some people think happiness can be achieved through their things, such as fancy cars, luxury homes, antiques, and whatever they can acquire with their money. Money and possessions won’t give you happiness for long. Money does not provide one with joy. It controls the person that has the money. The person worships his money, which is all he worships as he tries to amaze a more considerable fortune throughout his life. Every day the cash owns him and controls him into making more money, bringing heartache and pain and robbing him of his time on earth for a more worthy cause.

You find happiness by spending time with family and friends and supporting worthy causes in your community. Gather yourself around like-minded people and share your life experiences with others. Belong to groups that lift you, attend church regularly, read your devotions, read your Bible, and treat yourself now and then. I love visiting with people as I can learn a lot of valuable information and life lessons from my conversations with others.

Eating out, driving, or taking a short vacation now and then makes me very happy. Spread God’ss good work wherever and however you can take each day of your life. Reach out to people as it will help you and them along the bumpy roads in life. Be the person that people like to be around for support and comfort in their life.

Happiness is how you make it and how you live your life. Sometimes you find joy where you least expect to see it. A stranger can give you absolute happiness or even save your life. Happiness is being around people you love and people who love you unconditionally and knowing that God is always by your side.

Saving Your Soul

Sometimes it takes a significant illness or catastrophe to get closer to God. We do not use our strength. We use the power of God to enrich our souls. Some people are a connection to God by reading daily devotions and praising God for the many blessings in their life. A friend reminded me to mention this.

When we are strong and well, we tend to live or get by with our strength. We are on automatic pilot, and God is the actual pilot in our life. God is the one that can save your soul. Thank God daily for your health, family, and friends and for giving you your first breath of life and every breath you take while on Earth.

Keep the sabbath day by reading your Bible, attending church, and watching a church service on TV or social media. Thank God for the week you had and how he blessed your life. Observe nature and its beauty that God made for all of us to enjoy. Spend time with friends and family on Sunday and think of how lucky you are to have each other in your life.

When I was sick, I got closer to God as he was my strength and refused. God gave me the strength to endure and took my life in a new direction. I became a lay minister at my church, visiting people in the rest home or assisted living. I love seeing them; we enrich each other’s lives in many fantastic and outstanding ways. I enjoy writing Inspirations with Laura and sharing them with others.

Do not live on automatic pilot, as it will only take you so far in life. God is our pilot and guide to a religious life that will strengthen and save our soul for its final journey to Heaven.
