Where I Have Adopted Some Of My Cats

Where I Have Adopted Some Of My Cats

My Grandfather found my first cat Flossie in our field. Flossie was a very young kitten, and she was gray and white. She was very friendly and would follow me all over the farm. Flossie had many kittens over the years that I grew very fond of. She and all of her kittens were excellent mousers.

Many of my cats over the years were found in restaurant parking lots. I found one of my house cats Philmoor under a car at Perkins. He was purring away loudly when we pulled into our driveway. He was very friendly and lived to be ten years old. I found one of my calico cats Victoria at a restaurant, and she was waiting by their door for a new owner to rescue her. She had a beautiful calico kitten that looked just like her. I adopted Addi from a restaurant that was partnered with a cat shelter. Addi is an amiable silver tabby cat. Addi had five lovely kittens, and I still have three of them. Her other two kittens found a wonderful and loving home they were adopted into.

I have found several of my house cats in my local newspaper. All of my Siamese cats were found by listings in my newspaper. I adopted Sugar, Ginger, and Tammy. Sugar was a beautiful seal point Siamese cat who kept me company for many years. Ginger was a lynx point Siamese cat, and she was very kind and gentle and lived to be 18 years old. I adopted Tammy, a blue point Siamese cat, from a young couple having a baby. My grandmother had Tammy for many years, and she dearly loved her. Cali, my calico cat, was one of several cats a young couple had. They could not afford to keep all of their cats. Cali is part Siamese, and she is very vocal and beautifully marked.

I adopted Simon and Garfunkel from a restaurant listing on a bulletin board. Their Mother had come to their house pregnant, and they had to find a home for her four kittens. Simon died relatively young of a disease. Garfunkel is a very kind, gentle, and loving house cat.

I have adopted several cats because their owner died, and the family had to find new homes for them. I have adopted stray cats over the years. My vet gave me one of his house cats named Red. He had found Red on a golf course in December. Red was a Red Tabby cat, and he was brilliant. Red lived to be 17 years old. My purebred Maine Coon cat Fresca was given to me by my cousin years ago. About 12 years ago, a kitten was born on my farm that looked almost identical to Fresca.

I have adopted many lovely outdoor cats from farmers and people who have tried to find cat homes in their neighborhoods. Try to adopt and help out a cat needing a safe, warm, loving home. God bless you and your cat family.

Vulnerable

Vulnerable

All of us feel very vulnerable at times. Depending on our situation, we may feel unsafe, at risk, or endangered; when we are young or elderly, it is easier for people to take advantage of us. When we are young and naive or elderly, someone may have the upper hand on us. We are very trusting in general of other people. In times of hardship and trials, people tend to pray for others and exploit the situation to line their pockets. We must always be on guard for uncouth characters that are out and about.

We are very vulnerable in times of a pandemic. Some people think price gouging is OK. I think price gouging is as low as you can go. Never take advantage of people struggling to buy and need essential items to survive. Remember the Golden Rule and live by it every day of your life. The Golden rule is: Do Unto Others As You Would  Have Them Do Unto To You.

Many phone scammers and internet scammers make a living taking advantage of vulnerable people. They may get by with that on earth, but they will not get by with that on Judgement day. Some places keep sending out donation forms, hoping you will forget that you just paid them.

The price of face masks and other essentials that we need due to our pandemic are all over the place. Since March 1st, 2020, my grocery bill for the same items has increased by $40.00. Everyone has to pay a lot more for all of their essential items.

Are healthcare workers on the front lines vulnerable to catching Covid – 19? Remember to thank healthcare workers daily as they fight to help save our lives. People with preexisting conditions and illnesses are very vulnerable to catching Covid – 19. Stay home and only go out for essential items for the next life you save just might be your own. Covid – 19 does not discriminate against anyone or any age group. All of us could die from this pandemic that we are in.

Be nice to people, businesses, and all people that you meet. If a store is out of an item you need or want, do not lose your cool; it is not their fault if they are waiting for supplies. Do not get irate and out of control with workers. It takes us all long to get supplies than it used to, as that is the new normal. We must beat this pandemic together, as it is genuine and could kill us anytime. Follow all of the rules and stay safe and well. God bless you and yours.

My That Is One Smart Cat

My That Is One Smart Cat

Maggie, one of my oldest cats, learned how to use One Fast Cat quickly. When I came to feed her in the morning, she sat on the wheel and would not move. I said Maggie, do you want to show me something? I spun the wheel around, and she stayed on, showing me how she could run on the wheel. I told her that she did a good job and to teach my other cats how to use it.

A pregnant outdoor cat came up to my house in the spring. She was having trouble having her kittens. I helped her deliver one of her kittens, and then she could have the other one alone. She knew that I would come to her rescue and knew that I would help her.

I have had several cats watch TV programs over the years, and they know what they are watching. Garfunkel loves to watch race cars, meerkats, and cheetahs. Conrad was watching birds on TV and put his foot on the bird being shown at the time. Kohl liked watching the cheetahs.

I had a purebred Siamese house cat that would look at a picture with birds in it and place her paw on the birds. She also took a fancy to a concept with two giant tigers on the prowl. Garfunkel likes to look at videos of cats of various sizes, shapes, and forms.

One of my house cats was looking up to the sky constantly just before a tornado warning was issued. When there was a hail storm one spring, my cat hid under the bed before the large hail stones fell to the earth. Cats can sense a change in weather patterns.

Conrad drowns any mouse he happens to see. My home is rodent-free except if a new roof gets put on or a vent pipe comes disconnected, or one happens to run in the door. He must figure he stays cleaner by drowning them and has done his duty to keep me rodent-free. My other two house cats do not know what to do with a mouse since they were tiny kittens when they entered my home. Conrad has them help him coral the rodent in question, and about every time, the rodent runs into his mouth.

Many cats have to wake their owners to warn them of a fire in the house or show them where a gas leak is. One man trained his cat to dial 911, and he never thought his cat could perform the task. His heart attack and his cat dialed 911 and saved his life.

Never underestimate your feline friends’ intelligence; they could save your life someday. God bless our wonderful feline friends for all the beautiful things they do for us, and they ask nothing in return except for our love, comfort, kindness, food, shelter, and support.

Life Has Many Challenges

Life Has Many Challenges

Life has many up and downs. How you handle your downs can determine the rest of your life. I refuse to let negativity into my life. Negative thoughts lead to more and more negative thoughts, and you can become so weighed down that you cannot move forward anymore. Moving forward with your life and learning new things every day, and sharing what you have learned with others is what life is all about.

Do not stay stuck on a particular event in your life because it is over, and you can no longer change its outcome. By dwelling on things, you are robbing yourself of productive days. Time waits for no man, and we all have a limited number of days.

If something you are good at becomes more difficult for you to get done, never be afraid to ask for help. We are put on earth to help and praise each other for a well-done job. Consider the source if someone keeps criticizing you regardless of your best efforts.

Life is not easy for anyone, as we never know what might be on another person’s plate. Everyone has family concerns or health issues now and then. Never be too quick to Judge someone, for only God can be the Judge of man. God is the only one who can truly see what is in another person’s heart and soul.

If someone has challenges in their life, you may not know about them. Be kind, compassionate, and caring, and show genuine concern for your fellow man. Some people need food to eat or warm clothing to keep warm on a cold winter night. You never know the plight of someone else. Help people with the challenges they face and try to make their life better for them. Be the best steward that you can be every day. Try to serve your fellow man somehow today and put a smile on someone’s face today.

Whiskers and Tails

Whiskers and Tails

Your cat uses its whiskers to negotiate through tiny openings. My cat Maggie is pleasantly plump and uses her whiskers to see if she can arrange small door openings in the different outdoor buildings. If her whiskers touch the beginning of the door, she will twist her head to make the necessary adjustments so that she can enter the building without getting her head stuck in the doorway. Do not let children trim off your cat’s whiskers, which could result in death. Your cat’s whiskers are a maneuvering-around tool that protects and guides them from dangerous areas where they may get stuck.

Some cats have had their heads stuck in tin cans or glass jars that have not been rinsed out properly. Most cats would lick out a tuna can even if they thought they might get their head stuck in the can. Cats cannot resist certain foods. Be sure to rinse out all of your used tin, cans, etc., so no animal has to suffer the consequences of getting its head stuck or suffocating to death.

Cats use their tails to communicate dislike for another cat. If the cat’s tail is waggingh at a rapid pace,e your cat is in a bad mood or showing aggressive behavior toward the other cat. If your cat’s tail is standing straight up or is relaxed, your cat is in a good mood. Your cat’s tail is like a rudder on a boat, as it helps them land on their feet when they jump down from a high place. A frightened cat will have its hair straight on its tail, and the bottom will look bushy. An annoyed cat will switch the end of its tail, and its whiskers will be pulled back tightly to its face. A sick cat’s tail hangs between its legs and whiskers, and its ears will remain abnormal for a long time.

Remember to always listen to your cat’s body language. This is how your cat can communicate with you and other cats or animals. You will know if your cat is happy, frightened, annoyed, or content with life.

Expectations

Expectations

We all have strong expectations of what we want and should achieve. There will be positive and negative things that will happen to us in our lifetime. You can not expect to achieve great things without putting your heart and soul into your work. Nothing ever gets handed to you on a silver platter. It would be best if you worked for what you achieved in life. God will help you with your goals in life as he gives you the power and the ability to learn and work for what is important to you.

Expectations have limits. You cannot expect to gain instant fame overnight, as it may be a lifetime effort on your part. You generally get out of life what you put into your life. Remember always to stay focused on your goals in life and let no one dis-swayed you from achieving them. Your life will have many ups and downs but do not let the downs hold you down for too long. Life is fast-paced and waits for no man.

We expect to have a job and to get paid a decent wage for the work we do at our job. Layoffs occasionally happen, so you must save money for a rainy day. Certain health conditions will come up in our lives that may alter our expectations for a while or forever. We try to live up to the expectations of others to make them happy. Never let anyone take your expectations down the wrong road in life, for you know what is right and wrong. God is the only true Judge of man, so do not even try to Judge others, for you do not know their past or the roads they have been down.

We expect our friends to treat us fairly. We want a wonderful and kind, loving family. We all want good health and to feel reasonably safe in our homes. We hope our money will hold out for our lifetime. We hope we will have someone care for us in our old age. We expect good health care with experienced nurses and doctors that will treat us with the utmost respect.

God expects us to worship him and put him above all others. We hope God helps us get through all of life’s storms. God has always been by my side and is my constant companion and compass. God bless you and yours. Expect the best and achieve the most that you possibly can in life.

Diseases Your Cats Can Catch

Diseases Your Cats Can Catch

If you have more than one cat, they can catch diseases from each other if the sick cat is not quarantined. They can see an infection from another ill cat sneezing, coughing, or sharing the same litter box they use. When you bring a new cat into your household, put it in quarantine for at least seven days before you let it loose with your other cats. Also, take the newcomer to your Vet for a complete checkup from head to tail.

Cats with a respiratory infection can pass on that infection to your cats. Even though the cat may have recovered completely, it remains a carrier of the feline respiratory virus even though they present no symptoms.

Distemper in cats can be very deadly as they become dehydrated quickly. Cats sneeze, cough, have runny eyes, and have constant diarrhea. Your cat’s fur will look scruffy, and it will be very passive. Cats can recover in five days if they have an excellent immune system. Very young and old cats may succumb to the disease. I always make sure my cat’s distemper shots are up to date.

Cats can get worms from each other by eating small mammals and birds. Worms will cause weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting, and inflection around the anus. Cats may slide their derriere across your floor. You may see small fragments of worms in your cat’s litter box or stool. Remember to give your cat worm medicine to prevent this problem.

Cats can get fleas, and they will itch miserably. A good flea medicine will prevent that problem for you and your cat. Cats can get feline leukemia which is blood cancer, feline aids, renal failure, feline influenza, and Toxoplasmosis, and a few cats have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Do not let your cats outdoors, and always wash your hands before you touch your house cats to avoid giving them COVID-19 virus. If your cat is sick, always take them to your Vet as soon as possible, as it may be a matter of life or death. I hope you and your cat stay well and have many happy years together. God bless you and all of your feline friends.

Growing Closer To God In These Trying Times

Growing Closer To God In These Trying Times

I have been reading more devotionals and religious books. I have been writing more inspirationswithlaura posts. Now is an excellent time to grow your relationship with God. Call and check on your friends and family often. Pray for your friends and the World’s being without ceasing.

Thank God for all the many blessings that you have in your life. Help and pray for those in need. God listens to our prayers and answers them when he knows we need him the most, and we can accept his answer to our prayers. God is our creator and only wants the best for his children.

Nature is very unpredictable, and we cannot control its outcome. Storms come to all of us in our lifetime, and how we handle the storms in our life makes all the difference in the World. We are put on earth to support, comfort, and uplift each other in these trying times.

I have been calling friends, family, and those in the rest homes and assisted living units. Talking to someone in difficult times is truly comforting. We are all in this pandemic together worldwide, so let’s help each other as much as possible.

God knows all of your thoughts before you can even say or think of them on your own. Life is full of new challenges and changes every day. You must adapt to changes faster than you may want in trying times like these. God has supported and uplifted you since you were born and even while you were in your Mother’s womb.

I know God is working on a cure for the Coronavirus, as he does not want any of his children to suffer. He is giving healthcare professionals ideas and knowledge of what to use or do to find a cure for the Coronavirus. We must be patient with God, knowing he and the health care professionals are working as hard as possible to see the end to this virus shortly. God bless you and yours, and stay safe and follow the rules to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

Living With Promise

Living With Promise

If we make a promise to someone, we must go through with what we promised to do for them. A contract declares that you will or will not do a deed for someone. If someone tells you something in confidence, your promise is not to tell another living soul what they just told you in total confidence.

If you break a promise with someone, you have hurt your relationship with that person and damaged the confidence they had in you. A contract is not just something you say you will do it is something you must do if you have committed yourself to do so. If you say you will take someone to the grocery store and then you do not, word will get around that you break your promises and lose respect quickly.

If someone tells you you have a great promise, they are sure you will dedicate yourself to the job. A dedicated person does not stop a task halfway. They take charge of the finish line. Your promise to your employer is that you will do the best job possible and complete it promptly.

We promise to follow Jesus by keeping the sabbath day to rest and worship God. We promise to be good shepherds and spread God’s good works. We are to follow the Ten Commandments as they are not called the Ten suggestions. We promise to treat others as we would want to be treated if we were in the same situation as they are.

God promises to be by our side every day of our lives. Without God by our side, protecting and nurturing us, we would not make it in this World on our own. God gives us new hope daily, bringing joy, peace, and love. Jesus came down to earth as a human to bear the cross for our sins and died. He then rose again so we may have eternal life with God. Glory be to God in the highest.

Living In Paradise

Living In Paradise

You can live in paradise on earth. God has created many beautiful things for us to enjoy while on our earthly voyage in life. We enjoy seeing birds, flowers, scenery, majestic mountains, and more. Paradise is living a life in the present without hanging on to your baggage from the past. Your past should remain in the past since you can not change the outcome anymore.

We can delight in the company of friends. We can listen to and help each other with problems we may face. Give your friend an unexpected gift. Compliment your friends often. Their good fortunes should bring joy to your heart. Heaven can genuinely be a place on earth where you feel safe and sound, and the sounds of nature abound.

I find paradise living in the country. Watching animals being born in spring brings joy and hope into your life, for there are always new beginnings with new births. Baby animals of all types are so adorable. The sounds of nature, such as the ocean waves pounding, songbirds, raindrops hitting your windows, and much more, are the sounds of paradise that God created for us to enjoy while we are on earth.

Living in paradise on earth prepares us for the ultimate paradise we will have in heaven someday. Jesus died for our sins so that we may be in eternal paradise with him in heaven when we leave our earthly bodies behind. We will have a spiritual body that will know no more pain or suffering.

Do not let anyone hold you back in life. Let bygones be bygones, and move upward and forward with your life. Do not let any illness empower you. Embrace your illness, as God knows what you are going through. Your illness may be a wonderful gift that will help you grow closer to God, and you may be able to accomplish much more with your life than you ever thought was possible.

Paradise is around the corner for all of us if we take things in stride and let God be our compass in all of the days of our life on earth. We will reach our ultimate paradise next to God in heaven when we leave our earthly body and are in our new spiritual body.
