Cats And Playtime

Cats That Want You To Interact With Them

Some cats will bring a sponge, rubber band, thread spool, or whatever they may find lying around in your home to you. Your cat wants you to throw the item in their direction, and they may bring it back to you to start the game again. One of my cats loved to get the Brillo pad my way, and I would toss it up in the air, and my cat would pounce on it with delight. Cats love to chase Laser lights. I pointed a laser light toward my ceiling and moved the light around the ceiling in that room, and my cat went wild, trying to keep up with that light. I would let my cat catch the laser light with his paws as I pointed it toward the floor now and then.

Cats That Play With Each Other

Some cats will catch and release mice. Once one cat lets it go, the other cat grabs it, and the game continues back and forth until one cat decides to have an appetizer. Once, a cat played that game with my pet dog, and my dog had the appetizer. Mother cats will catch and release the mouse so that their kittens may see it and eventually kill and eat the mice. I had one kitten that would let the mouse go right away, and the Mother cat was very patient with her kitten, and her kitten became an excellent mouser. Cats love to play with each other’s tails or clean and bite them too much for their liking.

Young Kittens Playing Outdoors In Mother Nature

Young kittens could play in a pile of leaves forever and never tire of it. I have witnessed young kittens pouncing on leaves and moving around on the ground on windy days. Yong kittens have wrestling matches, play with each other’s tails, and nip at each other. One of my kittens found an old lid from a pop bottle, and they kept batting that around until it finally got lost. They love to play with balls, toy mice, cat treat dispensers, crinkle balls, catnip filled toys; I had placed the toys in a building so they did last for a long time before they had to be replaced.

Cats Always Want To Play While You Are Trying To Work On A Project

When I am talking on the phone, my cats seem to be jealous of the phone. Cali will start throwing toy mice or other cat toys up in the air. Garfunkel starts meowing loudly at me. Conrad will purr or stare at me as he thinks, why is she talking to that piece of plastic while I am in the room with her? When I write a blog post, Garfunkel will lie on my bed and stare at me as he must think, what is she doing now? I give them cat treats, and they are happy and content again. I give them a little scratch under the chin and a pat on the head.

Get Out With Other People

It has been proven that it pays to be social. People who get out often with other people tend to live longer and enjoy life more than those who want to be alone or are anti-social. Exercise with other people, as they will inspire you to keep moving. If you exercise alone, no one cheers you on, and you will not exercise as long or stay motivated. Go out to eat with friends regularly, as it is suitable for all of you to share the day’s activities, and it is a relaxing way to end your day.

God Wants You To Be Social

If you stay in and do not socialize, how can you help other people? God ensured there would be many people on earth to help—each other. Groups of people who know each other and get together often will generally help each other when they need help. God does not want man or woman to lead a sedentary life. He wants you to move and get out with others. Getting out makes it possible for you to live longer. God knows it is not good to live alone without friends or family. Friends and family should want to be very social and share what they have learned with each other and have family get-togethers. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas as they are very social events. People in your church family will generally help you when you need a hand with something you cannot do on your own.

Start-Up Conversations With People

I was on a plane on a very long flight and visited with the lady sitting next to me. Her flight was to see her son, who had just left the army in Europe. He was a military corporal and had completed his time in the military. We had a fascinating conversation back and forth, making the flight seem much shorter than it was. I started a conversation with a lady on my tour bus, and we became friends and sent Christmas cards back and forth until she died. I became friends with another lady on that same trip, and we emailed back and forth for at least five years.

Social Abilities

Some people can start a conversation with anyone and become good friends with them quickly. Some people have to have the other person start the conversation, which gets the ball rolling. Most anyone will visit with you if you talk gently and are kind while you converse with them. They will want to avoid you like the plague if you are brash and abrasive. If you do not know what to discuss, you can start talking about the weather or what you heard or read on the news today. Try to be social, as it will open more doors for you.

Why Did My Cat Urinate On That?

Why Did My Cat Urinate On That?

Medical Issues

Cats will start peeing in different areas of your home if they have medical issues. If you have an older cat, she may no longer be able to get up and down your steps. Put a litterbox out that is easy for her to find on the main floor of your home and is easy to get in and out of. A cat with a bladder infection or kidney failure will also be unable to make it to the litterbox on time. Do not yell or scream at your cat; she dislikes the situation as much as you do. Take your cat to your vet ASAP, as kidney failure can kill your cat quickly without medical help. Buy a ramp for your cat to get into the litterbox quickly. We have medical issues now and then, and so do our feline friends.

Clean Litterbox Issue

If you do not clean your litterbox daily, your cat will start to hate that smelly place and avoid it like the plague. If we go to a restroom and it is dirty and nasty, we look for a clean toilet in the following location we go to, and our feline friends feel the same way about it. You must have at least one litterbox for every two cats in your house, and they recommend one per cat plus one extra one. Cats will use a house plant to do their business if the litterbox is filthy.

Workers In Your Home

Cats get stressed when people they have never seen come into your home and start a remodeling project. They don’t understand what is going to be happening to them. Because they are stressed out, they may pee on the painter’s tarp that covers your floor. If he does not take it home at night, your cat may pee on your clothing or the carpenter’s paint gear.

New Furniture In Your Home

When putting new furniture in your home, put a pillow on it from the piece of furniture you get rid of. That way, it will have its old familiar smell, and they won’t pee on the new invader in their home.

New Person Living In Your Home Or New Pet

If a man gets a new roommate to move in with him, his cat may disapprove. His cat will most likely pee all over the intruder’s clothes. They think of the new person as an intruder in their territory, as if they were still living in the wild as their ancestors did. Cats are very territorial, and no one better step on their turf uninvited, or they will suffer some repercussions. A new pet in the house can be very upsetting because their territories are already established, and now they must determine where the newcomer will fit in.

Cats Hate Change

If you are moving and your cat sees you packing up things, he will be stressed out of his mind with worry. Packing your suitcase will be highly upsetting as they know you will leave them for a while. Cats have been known to pee on things in the suitcase if you leave the room, and that is their way of telling you they do not want to leave their territory as you are part of the pride. Try always to put yourself in your cat’s place, and then you will understand each other more clearly.

What Do You See?

What Do You See?

Potential

Look at the whole picture, and then you can see the potential. Some people have a more significant potential than people give them credit for. If a person is not good in one aspect of life, it does not mean that they will not excel at something else. Never give up on anyone, and keep on cheering them on. Some people need to have someone have faith in them so that they can reach their full potential in life. Never downgrade anyone’s performance. Help them and encourage them to the very end. We need people who tell us we are doing a good job and to carry on in our pursuits in life. Never belittle someone’s accomplishments, as you have no idea of the trials and tribulations they endured to get to this point in their lives.

Old Homes Or Fixer-Uppers

I see potential in an old home when I walk through the house’s doors. I look at the woodwork and imagine what it looked like when the home was built. I picture the home repainted, the woodwork redone, the bathroom remodeled, new kitchen cupboards, and much more. I imagine how the family lived in the house when it was full of family gatherings that involved laughing, crying, entertaining, and all aspects of daily activity. Once again, I can see a grand old home where others can build wonderful family memories after it has had some loving care.

The Scheme Of Things

We should live out our lives as God has intended for us to do. We should be faithful stewards of the land and tend to it, removing weeds, trimming trees, planting and harvesting crops, and maintaining it to the best of our ability for future generations. We should leave a footprint behind for being here. We should do something significant with our lives that will help future generations. We should have great values and share them with others. Share what you know with others, and do not let your knowledge die with you, as it may help many people. In the scheme of things, the impact made by one person may seem insignificant. One person can find a cure for cancer and become a great country leader. All societal contributions help grow our community and keep us moving forward with new treatments and discoveries. Every human born can leave a productive footprint behind if they have the right mindset and people to cheer them on in life pursuits.

Always Look At The Whole Picture In Life

Do not live in your little world. Explore the world, and you will be happy with what you see. You will see rivers, mountains, flowers, and animals and learn that all humans want the same things no matter where we live. Never focus only on one thing in a picture; you may miss the pretty flower painted in the corner or a man walking his dog in another corner. There is much to focus on in life, so always be ready to look at and enjoy the entire picture, and you will live a contented, lovely life.

Mini Bikes To Motorcycles

Mini Bike To Motorcycles

My Atlas Mini Bike

I was 12 years old when I got my Atlas Mini Bike from a store that sold everything from A to Z. I took off with it wide open and scared my parents to death. I never got hurt riding it and thoroughly enjoyed riding it up and down my gravel road. It was red, and I pulled a rope on the motor to start it. I used it until I got a moped. I sold the mini bike ASAP to a man who purchased it for himself to ride.

Honda Moped

I had a Honda moped that I enjoyed riding. My father purchased one later on also. I could buy the motorcycle I truly wanted at age twelve later on. I rode it for a while, but it was worn out. I traded it on the Honda moped.

Honda 185 Dirt Bike

I purchased a Honda 185 dirt bike from a car dealer. The dirt bike was like new, but if you passed the semi, you would almost get sucked up by the trapped air from passing the semi. It was excellent on the gravel roads. I sold it to a local man who raced it at my town’s fairgrounds.

450 Automatic Honda Motorcycle

One day, I drove to a motorcycle shop about 40 miles away. I had always wanted a motorcycle, but I could not shift them. The automatic was precisely what I wanted. It was a brand new 1980 Honda that they could not sell because most of the men want one you have to shift. I purchased it in 1981 after I drove it down their gravel road. The man that sold it to me was scared to death when the party I went with told him it was the first time I had been on a big motorcycle. I drove it back and forth on a main road to a small town in my area. My father purchased a 400 automatic Honda that had only 1100 hours on it. He was more adventurous than I was. He drove it to a small town, buying tractor parts and putting them in the plastic milk container he had attached to the back rack. My 450 was midnight blue, and it was a gorgeous bike. My father’s 400 was a marron colored bike.

My 450 Honda Was Traded Off Toward The Purchase Of A Car

I promised my Mother that when I was 30 years old, I would trade the motorcycle off toward the purchase price of a used car. My father also traded his off on my car purchase. I remember riding my 450 down the road with the wind flying through my hair. If I was upset or stressed about something, I was not after the ride on my bike. Motorcycles are relaxing as you see a lot of nature, and you can enjoy the sounds of nature and the hum of your engine working at its peak performance. Motorcycles are dangerous; wear your motorcycle gear, drive responsibly, and always watch out for the other guy. I hope you have many happy, safe, and memorable rides.

My Honda Pioneer 1000

It is a fun vehicle and good at moving the snow out of the yard in winter.

Victorious

Victorious

Victory

God gave us victory over death when he gave us his son’s life to save us from our sins so that we would have eternal, everlasting life. Jesus suffered greatly when he gave up his life to save us from our sins. He loves you greatly when he gives up his life to save you. We should always think of the great sacrifice that God has given for us on earth so that we will live on after death in a spiritual form. A Father or Mother grieves deeply at the death of one of their children. We all want our family members to live on and have one of the many rooms in God’s house in heaven.

Victorious

To the victor goes the spoils. If you win a race in a race car, you get the prize money and a fantastic trophy to display. In all competitions, one outstanding athlete always stands out above the others. He may have made the most home runs in the history of baseball. The Wright brothers were the first to fly an airplane that made it any distance. All of us are victorious in something that will make a difference in the world for us having been here. We all have hidden talents that others may not know about until we are put to the test. Try to be victorious in what you donate to society for being here; maybe you were a good listener, comforted people when they needed you the most, discovered a cure for a horrible disease, and much more.

Rise From Defeat

If someone has belittled or put you down, rise up and prove them wrong. I had an adult who put me down when I was very young and I was not related to her. She was supposed to set an excellent example for me as she was my first teacher in school. She would laugh at me at my expense and have the other kids in my class join in. She would have me sit in the corner for no reason at all. She told me to stay after school and clean the clock. I told her I could not as I rode the school bus. Luckily, I told my cousin to talk to the bus driver, and she did. The bus driver came in for me, and she told my bus driver that I was so dumb I did not know that I rode the bus. I believed what she had said to me that year and kept my mouth shut, fearing that someone would laugh at what I said. I kept quiet way into adulthood. I almost died from a horrible illness twice in my life; after recovering from the last one, I got my voice back and could visit easily with anyone. Never let a bully put you down and control your life. I mainly would not talk to girls about my age as I did not trust them for years because of that grown-up bully teacher. I proved her wrong, and I can now visit and converse with anyone just as well as anyone could. To the victor goes the spoils. I was finally victorious.

Keep Your Cats Items Extra Clean

Keep Your Cats Items Extra Clean

Food And Water Dishes

Scrub and wash out your cat’s food and water bowls. Being stuck on food can attract bugs and diseases. Your cat does not want to drink water from a dirty dish. Clean up next to food dishes, as some might have landed on the floor.

Towels And Bedding

Sometimes, your cat may throw up on his bedding or towels, which should be washed in hot water with plenty of detergents to prevent germs. When their beds get a lot of cat hair, I vacuum them out. Dirty towels will also attract bugs that may bite your cat. Clean up their hammocks and any place where they take catnaps.

Groom Your Cats

By grooming your cats regularly, they will feel better and look better. Their bedding and towels will not have hair all over them. I use a regular cat comb, brush, and grooming glove and rub the fur off by hand. Your cat will most likely purr away while you are grooming them. Regular grooming helps prevent fleas, and not letting your cats outdoors walk in long grass or areas wild animals might have walked through. Deer ticks can be in the long grass.

Litter Boxes

Keep your litter boxes clean. Throw out your old litter when it looks terrible and replace it with all-new litter. Scrub them with hot water and plenty of soap, or replace them with new ones. Automatic litter boxes have to be disassembled and scrubbed up. The sensors can stop working if you do not keep them clean. Remember to put new plastic liners in your automatic litter boxes. Dirty litter boxes will make a perfect breeding ground for fleas. Clean up the floor area where your litter boxes sit. Dirty litter on the floor is ideal for fleas to multiply quickly.

Cat Toys And Treat Dispensers

If your cat’s toys get dirty and are washable, wash them in hot water with soap. When toys get worn and look awful, dispose of them and buy new ones. Washing a catnip toy will ruin the smell of the catnip, and it may get moldy. Most treat dispensers are plastic, so I wash them with hot water and soap.

Clean Your Cat Equipment

Clean cat combs, brushes, food storage containers, litter box tools, and anything you use on or by your cat. Clean up cat carry containers.

Clean Up Your Cats Living Area

Dust and vacuum regularly. Vacuum your drapes, clean under your furniture, scrub your floors, and keep your carpet and rugs clean. I vacuum my furniture. You and your cats should be allergy-free by keeping your home extra clean. I have an air purifier in my home and run a dehumidifier in my basement and next door. Put new filters in your furnace every month, as that will reduce dust. Clean the filters on your dehumidifiers, as they will get cat hair on them. You and your cat will share a lovely, clean home.

Why Church Services Are Important

Why Church Services Are Important

Social Time With Like-Minded People

All of us get and remember different parts of our minister’s sermon. By visiting with people in church and attending Christian study groups, we can learn more about the sermon and many other aspects of worshipping and carrying out God’s plans for us. I like to attend church breakfasts, luncheons, and evening meals. I enjoy visiting with the people. I am watching online now because of COVID-19. I still learn much by listening to and applying the sermons to my week. All of us need to have a refresher course on what the Bible is trying to tell us about our daily lives and how we can apply it to the world that we live in today.

Supporting Worthwhile Missions

I like donating food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and money to missions my church supports. The people in the countries we help may be homeless and have no shelter for themselves and their families if missions do not help them. Some do not have running or safe water to drink, and with missions helping them, they can dig new wells and have decent water to drink. God wants us to help the less fortunate. One day, you may need to help yourself. Put yourself in the other person’s place and then say what would I want someone to do for me under these circumstances?

Helping Families In Your Community

By distributing food to needy people, they can have a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner that everyone deserves on these special days. Remember to give hats, mittens, coats, socks, and boots to less fortunate people so they can be nice and cozy in winter’s long, cold days. Churches have paid people’s first month’s rent to afford to pay the deposit required when they move in.

God Blesses Us Every Single Day Of Our Life

God has blessed me with relatively good health over the years. God blessed me with excellent, kind, caring, and loving parents. I am blessed to have good friends in my life. My pets have been a blessing in my life. I have gone to the same church and have deep ties to my church. Some of my classmates still attend our church. I have many friends in my church family that I visit with quite regularly.

God Is Your Compass And Your Lighthouse In Life

If you think you are heading off course in your life, ask God to be your compass and lighthouse that will guide you back home to him again. Sometimes, if we are driving in unfamiliar territory, we must look at our compass to ensure we are heading in the right direction. If we go in the wrong direction for too long, we will be lost, and it takes a long time to get back on the right road. God is like a lighthouse in the night; he shines his beacon of light to lead us back home where we are safe from the storms in life. Let God be your compass and lighthouse forever.

Our Barn And Chores

Our Barn And Chores

Cows

Years before I was born, we had milk cows in the barn. You had to get up by 5 AM and start milking the cows. The cows had to be cleaned, and the milking machine before you could milk them, or the man who picked it up would reject the milk. Cows would swat you in the face with their tails or maybe step on your feet. If a cow got mastitis, the Vet had to come, and you could not sell her milk as it would ruin all the milk in the milk truck. They took samples of your cows’ milk, and if you were the one that destroyed the milk, you paid for all the milk on the truck. The cows were a lot of work. Milk had to be stored in a milk house with a stainless steel tub that the water rotated around, constantly keeping the milk cold. My grandmother would store jello in the water in constant motion, which stayed nice and firm.

Feeder Cattle

They were kept in sections toward the back of the barn, surrounded by a fence. I would walk up to them and pat them on the nose. I liked the cattle but was young and knew enough to keep my distance from them. My Father would put up silage for them to eat that was held in a silo until it was fed to them. They also had grain and hay to eat.

Sows And Piglets

Sows are very protective of their piglets. Before you go into their sleeping area, you must know everything there is to know about sows and their piglets, or you could get injured easily. Moving sows and piglets is hard work and dangerous. The pigs had a big water tank with a kerosene heater that kept the water thawed out in winter. They had food bowls in their pens.

Horses

My grandparents had horses in the barn that did the farm work. They were hitched to a plow, planter, cultivator, and more. A good team of houses would work in perfect unison and understand its owner’s commands. I had several horses that lived in the barn as a teenager. I would ride them on the road with my friends or by myself.

Hay And Straw Bales

My Mother would drive our 560 Farmall tractor with the Massy Harris 33 baler back of the tractor and a hayrack. My Father had the hay or straw in windrows, and it had dried entirely before we put it up for hay or straw bales. We would grab the hay or straw with a hook on the end of it. I could stack the bales four high, and then my Father stacked them up higher until the hay rack was full. We stored most of the hay in the barn’s hay mow, and the straw was stored in another building. Years later, we only put up hay for my horses to eat. We cut down the grass in the ditch across from our house and the grass in the pasture. My horses loved the hay.

Chores

There are always daily chores on a farm for the women and men to get done. Chores have changed drastically over the years but still have to get done promptly. Growing up in the country is a true blessing.

Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Try Something New

You may be afraid to try new things, but you will be glad you did once you have. I was scared of air travel, but once I got up in the air, I enjoyed it very much, and it opened a whole new world of travel for me. I enjoyed all the European trips I have taken over the years. Trying new things opens up a new world of possibilities for you. If you do not try something new, you will end up in a stalemate someday. Technology changes very quickly, and if you do not try to keep up with it, you will be left behind in our high tech., The world that we live in. Take a college course in something that always interested you, but you never had time to take the course because of your current job or situation. Once you have taken the course, it may help advance your current career or help lead you to your dream job. Try something new every day of your life if you can. Maybe you can join an exercise club and lose those extra pounds you always wanted to lose. Join clubs and surround yourself with like-minded people. Life changes day by day and year by year, so change yourself up a little bit also.

New Foods

I love trying new foods from different countries when I travel. The foods I have tried from restaurants worldwide have been excellent, and I have recreated some of these delicious meals at home. Some people will not try new foods, and they say I do not like it before they have ever eaten a single spoonful of it, which is very sad. Trying new foods adds to the spice of life.

Giving A Speech

You may feel uncomfortable giving a speech, but well-written speeches help improve the world. If President Abraham Lincoln had not delivered his famous speech, the world would have never changed for the better. President Franklin Roosevelt and President John Kennedy also gave speeches that helped change the world in positive ways. Sermons delivered well can get people to think about their lives, and maybe they will change their path in life to make a good and positive impact in the world.

I know A Person That Says I would Not Enjoy It.

It would be best if you tried something first to say I would not enjoy it. This person has never traveled, and when you mention it, they say I would not enjoy it. Staying at home all of the time would not be enjoyable for me. Explore new things and look around; I do not think you will say I did not enjoy that. Never settle for a boring life. Think to yourself, what can I do today to add to the spice of life? Never sit down in your rocking chair and let life pass you by, for you will miss out on so much the world has to offer. Go out in the world today and get out of your comfort zone.
