Storms Of Various Kinds

We Have All Types Of Storms In Our Lives

Some types of storms are more complex to navigate than others. How we weather a storm reveals a great deal about our personality. Storms in your life will bring you down, but you must get backup and rise against them. If you let a storm in your life define you, you are not in control; the storm is in control, and I refuse to allow a storm to control my life. God knows we will have many storms in our lives, and he helps us rise above them and move forward.

Loss Of A Loved One

This is the worst kind of storm. People have days when they break down and cry when all their fond memories come crashing down all at once, like an avalanche. I try to remember what one woman told her children before she died. She told them If you cannot remember me with a smile, then don’t remember me at all. She also told you, You are crying for yourself, not for me. She said she would be in heaven and have no more pain and suffering as she was dying of cancer.

A Divorce

Some divorces can be settled amicably, while others are a total battle over who gets custody of the children, house, money, and even the family pet. One judge told one couple he could divide the dog in two to let them know how ridiculous they were getting in the divorce settlement. It worked, and the husband allowed his wife to keep the dog, as it was hers before their marriage.

Weather Storms

It is horrible to lose all of your family pictures and other heirlooms in a tornado, fire, earthquake, or other disaster. Losing a family member in a storm is the worst type of loss. A house, furniture, and trinkets can be replaced, but loved ones cannot. Disasters can strike at any time, so always be prepared to take shelter and get out of harm’s way if at all possible. Pray to God to help you navigate all types of storms you encounter daily.

Financial Burdens

It is challenging for families with minimum-wage jobs to make ends meet in today’s society, where prices are skyrocketing. Some people work 18-hour days and can barely afford their rent, utility bills, food, medicine, and other essential expenses. As a result, some people end up getting a divorce due to financial burdens, living out of their car, sleeping in parks or in warm areas such as warming shelters, or lying on top of heat grates.

We Must Make It Through Storms And Come Out Stronger

Health scares will eventually happen to all of us, and how you handle that will determine how long you live. If you think you will die, you will. If you think you will survive, most likely you will, as one can kill oneself off with worry alone. One Doctor told another person that I cannot save that man because he is determined he is going to die from his disease. Everyone needs purpose and meaning in their life. God made you for a specific purpose, and it is your mission to complete God’s purpose. Remember not to let anything break your stride; you have to keep on moving now, like the old song lyrics from years ago.

Personalities Of My Favorite Cats Over The Years

Flossie Was My First Cat

She would follow me on the farm and sit next to the swing set when I was swinging. She would also wait with me while I was waiting for the school bus to pick me up in the morning. She loved to be held and fussed over. Flossie had many kittens that carried her pleasant personality gene. She died out in the field where my father was working. I think she was probably about 15 when she passed.

Blacknose Was One Of Flossie’s Kittens

She was a beautiful tortoiseshell calico cat who loved to be held. She also loved to kill garter snakes and leave them by the door to show you her catch of the day. Over the years, she had several kittens, but none of them would get near a snake. Blacknose would follow me around the farm like her Mother. She lived to be 12 years old.

Schnitzel

He was a gorgeous yellow and white outdoor Tom. He would let me dress him in doll clothes and sleep in a shoebox converted into a cat bed. He was the top tomcat on the farm, but very gentle and loving. I found out that he had been shot one day, as someone thought he was a rabbit. I was glad they told me. The party felt very bad about it.

Sprite

She was a beautiful red tabby and an excellent Mother cat. As a young child, she would let me carry her around, and she never scratched or bit me once. She waited with me for the bus. I had her for about 6 years until a hunter came along and shot her right in front of my father, and then they took off like a bolt of lightning. Sprite had six young kittens. We had another cat whose kittens were dying. We gave that Mother cat Sprite’s kittens, so at least she carried on through her offspring.

Fresca

She was a Maine Coon cat that my cousin gave to me years ago. She was a lovely, long-haired cat, and she had beautiful kittens. Once, she blew her coat, which is typical for them, and she soon had a nice new coat of hair. She was a tuxedo-looking cat. She lived to be 12.

Kohl, Sebastian, Onyx, Midnight, Blackie, And Conrad

They were pure black cats. All of my black cats have had charming personalities. They were very gentle and loved being held and patted on the head. Blackie would sit in your lap for hours outdoors if you would let her. Kohl and Conrad had easygoing personalities. Kohl was a cat who loved everyone who came into your home.

Conrad

Sylvester, Garfunkel, Red, Ginger, Philmoor, Russ, Cali

I still have Garfunkel and Cali. Garfunkel is a lovely and loving cat. Cali has a little cattitude but is nice and purrs contentedly. Red was a people cat, and he had to make sure you watched him as he had mastered a cat toy game to perfection. Sylvester was a lovely, kind tuxedo cat, but sadly, one day, two stray dogs came and killed him. Russ was cream-colored and had a loving soul. He died at ten years old of a heart attack, I think. Philmoor was a beautiful cream-colored tuxedo cat. He would sleep on my bed and purr away. He had an outstanding personality. He developed liver cancer, and I had to have him put to sleep. Ginger was a lynx point Siamese mixed with a domestic shorthair. She had a kind heart. She lived to be 18 before I had to have her put to sleep.

Snowflake, Maggie, Lizzie, and Bella

I adopted all four of these cats since their caregiver had died. Snowflake was gentle beyond gentle. Maggie was very loving and would follow me when I went outdoors. Lizzie was skittish initially, but she became a very affectionate cat. Bella was a tabby cat that loved to be patted, and she was kind. They lived to be 16, 12, 13, and 15.

I Have Had Other Outstanding Cats Over The Years

Kind and pleasant-mannered cats leave footprints in your heart, and the light they brought into your life keeps shining in your heart forever.

Joy In Your Life

Surround yourself with people who bring you joy. If someone brings sorrow and pain into your life, move on, as you deserve much better. Traveling and enjoying the company of another person or spouse brings much joy into your life. Hopefully, work, your family, and friends bring you joy. A good relationship with God should bring tremendous joy into your life daily. Helping others feel good about themselves should bring joy into your life and theirs. Perhaps a hobby or your pets bring great joy into your life.

Peace

Everyone wants to live a peaceful life, and we try to avoid possible conflicts. At times of war, we feel no peace and are very ill at ease. Sometimes, you will have no peace if you live in the wrong environment. Sometimes we take peace for granted. If you live with someone abusive, get out of that situation, as you deserve a peaceful life. God brings peace into our lives in various ways. Nature and its beauty are comforting, truly tranquil, and very quiet.

Love

Everyone wants to be loved by someone. Your spouse should love you, as well as your family and friends, and genuinely care about your overall well-being. God loves us so very much that he gave the life of his only begotten son so that we may be forgiven for our sins. To lay down your life for the life of a friend is the ultimate expression of love. If you do not love yourself, you cannot love someone else either. If you love someone, you stay with them and support them through life’s journeys, full of hills and valleys: sunshine and storms.

Hope

Without hope, you are doomed. Hope keeps you going through all your daily routines regularly. With hope, you can always see a brighter tomorrow, even after a bad day. Hope is like a rainbow, hope is like the smell of sweet-smelling flowers. With hope, days seem bright and cheerful even if it is storming outside, as we know the storm will end and the sun will shine on us once again brightly. God gives us hope, helps us 24/7, and answers our prayers. Hope is alive and strong.

Terms

Have you read all of the terms of your contract? Most people will probably overlook the fine print. The contract is always written to favor the company in the event of an issue. It may state that we have a limited supply or that it is under warranty, but it also indicates that you will have to pay for labor after three years, and all they supply are the parts. Sometimes, a contract will say that if we sell the company, the new company will warranty you. I have always been out of luck if a new company takes over. Make sure you read even the fine print, or you will live to regret it. I once went to a bank, and he said, ” Don’t bother reading the fine print. I then said Fine, and I started to cross out what he said was not important, and then suddenly it became vital, and I said I will read it then.

Conditions

I purchased some siding and other supplies from a lumber store, and they assured me they had everything in stock. When my carpenter went there, they said they didn’t have the corners for the siding, and he had to drive 110 miles to another store to pick them up. It took him four hours to find the four corners because no one there knew where to look. Limber stores ensure that your employees send items that customers have prepaid to the correct store for pickup. Warranties that have way too many conditions. Was it used as intended? Did you mistreat the item, etc? I was trying to use it properly, and the head on the weed whacker stopped spinning. I asked for a new one, but they didn’t give me one, so I went back a week later and got my money back. If you are being treated unfairly, never give up until the issue is resolved. Always ask to speak to the top man in the company.

Contracts On Anything That You Are Planning On Purchasing

Read the contracts very carefully because if it says ‘sold as is,’ that is what they mean, with no exceptions, unless you have it stated in your contract that it will work or you can return it within 30 days of purchase. When purchasing a home, state that the plumbing and roof must be free of leaks; otherwise, the seller will be responsible for any necessary repairs at their expense. When buying a car, ensure that it clearly states whether your SUV is four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, as well as the vehicle’s color. Also, have them state that the car is accident-free if that is what you want to buy. I have had dealers try to sell me cars that have been in accidents, which is why I always speak with the former owner of the vehicle before I sign on the dotted line. Have a home inspected before you spend a lot of money on a property that may have been affected by a fire at some point. Ensure your dream home is truly a dream come true. Discuss the neighborhood with the property owners and the local police. Be savvy in all of your business deals.

Keeping Up On Your Cat’s Appearance And Other Problems

If your cat is not grooming its coat properly, has a runny nose, or has watery eyes, it is unhealthy and not in optimal condition. A cat that used to be energetic but now only wants to sleep and eat most likely has a serious health problem. It is common for cats to vomit occasionally, but when it becomes an everyday occurrence, you should take them to your vet ASAP. Cats like to eat grass as it helps them cough up hairballs, which is good. Cats may have an ear mite problem or an ear infection if you notice a lot of brown debris in their ears. I treated one of my older cats with an antibiotic for her ear infection, and after two treatments, the problem was resolved. If a cat has extra-long claws, it is a good idea to have them trimmed, as they can get caught on something that could cause injury or even death, since the cat will be stuck in that same position for many hours. Some cats have died from a heart attack from having to hold a stuck leg up all night long.

Vet Checkups For Your Cat

I take each of my cats to my vet for yearly checkups; after all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. My vet checks their heart, eyes, and mouth, and looks each cat over carefully. My cats get a yearly distemper shot and a rabies shot when needed. Before adopting a new cat, I will have it checked for FIV since it will be around many other cats. If you just had one cat in your home, a cat with FIV could get along fine since no other cat could catch the disease. Cats that have dental problems that go untreated for many years can die from issues that result from having bad teeth in their mouth for too long.

Foods That Are Good For Your Cat’s Health

Ensure you purchase cat food with minimal ash, as excessive ash can be detrimental to your cat’s health over time. Buy cat food that contains minimal byproducts or fillers. If your cat has a urinary tract problem, feed them a cat food for that particular issue, and it should help your cat live a longer and healthier life. If your cat is not eating much, they also make canned cat food that will help boost their appetite. You can feed your cats weight-loss formula cat food if they are overweight. Cat food companies also make a kitten formula cat food. Buy the best cat food you can afford to feed your dear feline friends so they will have a happy and healthy life into their golden years.

Cat Toys That Engage All The Senses In Your Cat

Some cats suffer from depression as their owner may work all day, and they are bored and lonely in their home. Cat toys, such as those resembling birds, mice, and mouse circle toys, entice your cat’s senses. I also have a string toy for them that shoots a string out of it occasionally, engaging their hunting instincts. I also have a game for them: when they move a square with their foot, a cat treat is theirs. Cats also like the treat ball dispensers that I fill with catnip treats. Ensure your cat remains in optimal health during its golden years, allowing you to enjoy many happy moments together.

You Look So Well And More

People Go By How Someone Looks, Which can be very Deceiving.

As the old saying goes, do not judge a book by its cover. Some health issues cannot be seen because they are hidden deeply. Never tell someone, “You look so good,” as they will take it as if you thought they had been lying about their health condition, which only someone deranged would do. No one wants to have any health issues, but people have them, and do not belittle them by saying Why can’t you do such and such. One woman was told to move quicker by a group of women, and she could not because she had Parkinson’s disease. After the meeting, she went home and cried. Women can pick each other to pieces over nothing, and because of their lack of intelligence on an issue. Make sure you have all of your facts before you act like the top hen in a hen house, ladies.

Lashing Out At Someone In Church

I noticed one woman come to church on Sunday, and an older woman met her at the door and said that people die of the kind of illness they deserve. I sure wonder what type of illness she died of. People contract various diseases, and no one can control what they get. I had to remember that I was in church because I wanted to tell that door greeter off. People are expected to be kind to one another, understand others’ health conditions, and refrain from bringing them down or making them feel worse after attending church.

People In Wheelchairs

I noticed a woman shopping in a grocery store one day, and another woman came up behind her and said, “Get that wheelchair out of my way.” One day, she may need a wheelchair, and I wonder how she will like it if someone tells her to get out of the way. Show respect and kindness to people who are trying to maneuver around with their wheelchairs and do things on their own.

People Who Have To Open Their Mouth Before Their Brain Is Engaged

No one knows what disease you will contract in life, and we are better off not knowing. Never make fun of someone who is not healthy by snickering at them. I knew someone, and they told me that the aids would snicker at them where they were living. They may end up in a care facility someday, and I wonder how they will like the Snicker experience. I am sure they will not like it whatsoever.

Disabilities That Cannot Be Seen

A person may become tired quickly or feel exhausted soon after working for a while. If you are not around this person, you would never know. People with common diseases and those with less common diseases all share health issues that are not always visible. You have no idea of the inner being of any human, so do not judge them. Show kindness and compassion to all people, and refrain from placing demands on them or making them feel bad. A woman asked another woman to return to an organization and volunteer, and she said yes. After she agreed, she told her she had to work like a mule and said she could not anymore. The other lady said you must not like older adults, and she said I did not say that, but she did indirectly, as she was too old to be of any use to the organization if she could not work like a mule anymore. Have compassion in your heart and soul for others.

How Cats Treat Each Other

There Will Always Be At Least One Alpha Cat in A Multi-Cat Household

Cali is the alpha female cat in my house, keeping my two male cats in line. She hisses at Milton every day. Milton may growl at her, but he does his best to ignore her when he ignores Cali; it irks her to no end. Cali is 14 years old, and Milton is only 15 months old. Cali wants to get into a fight with him, but he will not. Garfunkel gets along fine with Cali and Milton, and Cali likes Garfunkel. I do not think that Cali will ever like Milton for some reason of her own.

 

Cats That Grow Up Together

Cats that grow up together and are never separated form lifelong friendships. They will generally walk next to each other with their tails touching. Jasmine and Hanford are brothers and sisters who like sleeping in the same spot or area. They have been inseparable since birth. Addi is the mother of Hilford, Sherlock, and Mr. Gray next door. Hilford and Mr. Gray rub up against their mother daily as a sign of their love for her. Some of my older cats next door became babysitters for Addis’ kittens, and they bonded for life. Kittens that grow up together make perfect housecats since there will be no tension between them regarding who the top cat is. Cats that grow up together help each other out in life. My three Toms went after a Tom that came to the farm, and he never returned with my three Toms scaring him off. A mother cat and her kittens will remain close forever if left in the same household. Peter is the father of Hilford, Sherlock, and Mr. Gray, and he knows they are his kittens and will walk beside his sons.

Tomcat Fights

Tomcat fights can get very nasty in a hurry. Some of my Toms over the years have come home with scars all over their faces or maybe the tip of an ear missing after a brutal fight. Toms constantly fight for the right to the female cats on the property to pass their genes along to the next generation. Some Toms can be very gentle, but they generally do not fare well in all-out warfare.

Female Cat Fights

I had a Siamese female cat beat up one of my outdoor cats years ago, and believe me, you never want to fight a purebred Siamese cat if you are a domestic female cat. Female cats are very good at defending their kittens from Toms and other female cats. Luckily, I had one female cat that won a battle with a skunk. The skunk had bitten a small part of her skin off her face. Our neighbor witnessed the fight and said our female cat was a mighty warrior. Luckily, our cats had rabies shots since skunks are known to carry rabies.

My Cats Never Get Vicious With Each Other

My cats settle their disagreements calmly. They may hiss or growl, but nothing comes from that. My cats are very loving in their different, unique ways.

Living A Purpose Driven Life

Sometimes, One Thinks What is My Purpose In Life?

All of us have a significant purpose in life. Sometimes, it is not apparent to us right away. When we are very young, we may contribute much more to society than we think, regarding how we treat others and have helped them in unknown ways. When a young boy opens a door for you, it shows respect and helpfulness. Children support other children and cheer them on in sports or other events. As we mature, we add more to society in what we can contribute. You may help someone repair something or comfort them while they are sick. As an adult, you may have gone to college and become a Doctor, Engineer, Lawyer, Accountant, etc. All of these jobs help people live and contribute their talents to society. When one link is broken in a chain, it strains everyone connected, and not as much will be contributed. If we all stick together and do what we are good at, society moves in the right direction.

Mother Or Father

You contribute by raising a son or daughter with good Christian values. You teach your children good values, and they will carry them for the rest of their lives. You answer your children’s questions to the best of your ability, comfort them, and support them throughout the years. A loving mother or father never stops loving their children. You may even tell your adult children what they should do before you pass. They may tell you to hire more things done as you age and sell things that may be too much to maintain. Children learn by watching and observing their parents, and they will most likely carry the same values that their parents did.

God’s Purpose For Each One Of Us

God had a purpose for each of us the day we were born. Whatever we have done that helped others is what God wanted us to do to help him care for his flock. Helping people and visiting with them is sometimes the highlight of their day. God is the potter, and we are the clay. God is a perfect potter, and it is up to us to lead a good example of how God molded us to represent his values on Earth and to share the good news with the masses. If you see someone needing help desperately, try to help them if possible. Someday, you too will need help, do you want someone to pass you by and do nothing? I know your answer will be no, please help me. Live by God’s example, and your life will have more purpose than you ever imagined possible.

Caretaker Of The Land And Animals

We should leave the land enriched with nutrients and never strip the land of what it needs to be fruitful and productive. We should care for all of God’s creatures, great and small, as they become extinct; we may also become extinct. Everyone on Earth has a significant purpose in their life.

What Might Upset My New Housecat?

Old Cats Versus New Cat

Your old cats will make sure to let your new cat know that they are still in charge. They have various methods of doing this. They will ensure you are watching and make it look like the newcomer attacked them. They are good at swatting the newcomer, and when he swats them back, they look at you with loving eyes like, “Help me, mommy. That new cat is terrible, and you must give it back to its previous owners before we perish. The new cat must tread lightly to fit in with his new family. I had one of my housecats pounce on my young cat, and he did nothing as he did not want to get in trouble, and my cats were very pleased with themselves until the jig was up. My calico/Siamese cat pulled out all of the stops, and she would slap my young cat until he finally swatted back. Cali would swat and hiss at Milton until she realized that would not work for her. Milton was jealous of Garfunkel but soon realized he was a friendly cat.

Feeding Time

At first, one wanted to be served first, and then they realized that the older ones would be served first, and then the youngest. Milton loves cat treats, so keeping them apart for treats proved to be challenging. They soon figured out that their treats would be placed in their dishes, and that was all the treats each cat would get that evening. Cats want to be treated fairly; if you have favorites, your others will notice and feel bad or left out. Make sure you give your new cat the kind of food he is used to eating to avoid digestive issues, and gradually include your food next to his brand of food.

Ensure Your Young Cat Has A Familiar Toy Or Towel. Etc.

A familiar scent around will make your new feline companion’s transition to your home more bearable. Anyone is scared when they are in uncharted territory, and so is your feline friend. Make sure your new bundle of fur has a nice cozy place to sleep where he can be alone if he chooses to. Buy some catnip toys for your young cat and other things that will stimulate him.

Cat Litterbox

Please ensure each cat in your home has its own litterbox. This will reduce accidents, as one cat may not let the others enter their litterbox. Some cats will sit in a doorway trying to block your young cat from getting to any litterbox. Your older cats will then meow and bring you to the area where the newcomer had the accident as if to say Look at that, do you want that creature in your home? Cats are very clever creatures; you must always be one step ahead. Cat rivalry and hierarchy will continue, but you will be in charge of the situation if you think beforehand about what your cat will do.

Don’t Let Other People Influence You With What They Want

Live Your Life, Not Someone Else’s

Do not let someone tell you what job they want you to do. You choose your career because you will never like your job or be good at it if you don’t. You must have a job that fulfills you and completes you in life. Sometimes, an older person might try to live their dreams through you, which is wrong. God has a unique purpose for everyone, and never let someone take God’s purpose for your life away from you. God always knows what is best for you, so follow your life dreams and not the dreams that a relative or friend may have for you.

Health Decisions

Never ask a family member if you should have surgery or not. Your health is up to you, and if you want the surgery, go for it, and if you do not do it on your own accord, and not on the advice of others. Ask your doctor about any concerns you may have about the surgery and if the surgery will take away any pain you are going through. Have the surgery, as no one wants to live in constant pain. Life has many complex decisions, so make sure the one you ask questions about surgery has your best interest at heart.

Vacations

Some people do not like to travel, but their spouse does, and they feel they have to stay home with their spouse. If your spouse does not want to travel, find a good friend to travel with. I have had married couples tell me they wanted to travel, but their spouse did not, and now they regret it because they waited too long to travel and have health concerns that do not permit them to travel anymore. Do not let anyone take away your travel dreams. Travel opens up a beautiful new chapter in your life full of adventure, history, stunning scenery, and learning about the different countries’ histories, and that everyone wants the same things out of life, no matter where you travel. You never regret the wonderful vacation memories with your spouse or a dear friend.

Money

Money truly is the root of all evil. Some unsprulous people take advantage of senior citizens and ask them for money when they cannot afford to give them any money. Many nasty scammers go after senior citizens with insurance scams or ask them for money. If you do such a thing, you are the lowest form of human being possible. I cannot stand the stench that such an individual puts out. These people will have to answer to God someday for what they have done to God’s vulnerable flock. People should be givers and not takers. If you cannot give something to someone with joy in your heart, you have a serious mental problem.

Help Older People  Have A Better Quality Of Life

Visit with them and give them gifts. Take them out for supper. Older friends love to go out for drives. Surprise them with a beautiful day that they will enjoy. It will make their day and yours extra special, with precious memories you will never forget. Remember, you can learn much from older people, as they are very wise. Treat your elders with the utmost respect always. God bless our senior citizens, for without them, we would not be here or have the knowledge that we have.
