Amazing Grace and What Grace Means

Amazing Grace and What Grace Means

Acts 14:22

Thus he builds our character, strengthens our faith, and prepares us to help others.

Timothy 6: 11 – 21

Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, humility – fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life I give thee charge in the sight of God, keep the commandments – be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate. Grace be with thee.

Ephesians 2: 1 – 10

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ [ by Grace we are saved; ] For by Grace are ye saved through faith: and not of ourselves: it is the gift of God,  For we are his artistry created in Jesus Christ unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

peace memorial

John Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace, and he became a converted slave trader and set all his slaves free—some highlights from the song Amazing Grace – how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear, and Grace, my fears, relieved the hour I first believed. I was blind, but now I see. Grace has bought me safe – Grace will lead me home.

God’s Grace is universal and available to all persons. Living by Grace orients life around God’s gift of salvation. Grace is one as the tribune God is one.

Grace in the Methodist tradition is manifested in three actions:

Prevenient Grace – means divine love that surrounds all humanity, and God’s presence and power reside throughout all creation.

Justifying Grace –  is another word for pardon. It is the forgiveness of our sins and our acceptance of God.

Glorifying Grace – The gospel of Christ knows of no religion but social, no holiness but social holiness. God’s Glorifying Grace will complete God’s final reign of righteousness: God’s power over evil and death.

Grace leads us to do amazing and incredible things with God helping us. Grace means helping people in need, working well, having patience, faith, and being genuine and kind to others. Show your love to others and let them know how much you appreciate them being a part of your life. Be slow to anger and quick to forgive. May the Grace of God be with you today and every day of your life.

Little Red Riding Hood Sculpture In Honor Of My Mother Mrs. Elmer Weers

Little Red Riding Hood Sculpture In Honor Of My Mother Mrs. Elmer Weers

I went to Artist Reception & Exhibit Opening at the MacNider Art Museum in Mason City, Iowa, for the river city sculptures on parade. For more info on the Art Museum, go to: macniderart.org.20170508_170330 I interviewed an artist from Bad River Artworks located in South Dakota. I interviewed Mr. Lee Leuning. He made the baseball player and the girl on the scooter read a book with her cat looking up at her. I asked him his inspiration for his sculptures, and his reply was Americana, Nostalgia, and Norman Rockwell. Mr. Leuning said he paid attention to detail and depicted his sculptures as they would look if they were alive. I am very impressed with his incredible attention to detail in his sculptures. To learn more about them, go to: badriverart.com.

I noticed another sculpture I liked of a wise old owl sitting by the library on a pile of books. The owl’s detail and appearance were perfect in every way.

I saw the sculpture I purchased to honor my Mother on the River City Sculptures on Parade route, a 1.7-mile walk designed to lead participants on a looping course to the Cultural Crescent and back to the central core of Mason City, Iowa; for more info. Go to: sculpturesonparade.com. New sculptures decorate the downtown Mason City area. The Mason City Chamber of Commerce helped me buy the statue to honor my Mother.

New sculptures have been placed in Mason City, Iowa, and are available to be purchased. The Mason City Iowa Chamber of Commerce at masoncityia.com will help you through the purchase of your sculpture. Sculptures are an excellent way to honor or remember a loved one or to support a cause. The sculptures beautify Mason City, Iowa.

Del and Martha Pettigrew made the Little Red Riding Hood sculpture I purchased to honor my Mother. They live in central Nebraska. Part of what drives their careers are the desire to capture the beauty of the twitch of a lean wolf alert for prey. Works of great size, strength, dignity, and serenity come from their small studio. I loved the great attention they took in making the sculpture Little Red Riding Hood that I purchased. To learn more about them, go to: westernartandarchitecture.com.

My Mother was a Young Adult Librarian at the Mason City Public Library in Mason City, Iowa, for many years. I purchased a sculpture called Little Red Riding Hood to honor my Mother. My Mother loved to read books and valued education. The statue is placed on the library grounds to honor my Mother. My Mother worked at a college library and was an English teacher for one year until she met my Father, and they married. She worked at the Mason City Public Library after she was married. She loved helping people at the library. A sculpture is a great way to honor a loved one that has passed away. The statue will be a memorial to them for many years. In July, the Mason City Public Library will be dedicated to the Little Red Riding Hood sculpture. For more info on the Mason City Public Library, visit mcpl.org. The Little Red Riding Hood Sculpture will keep my Mother’s vision of learning and knowledge through books alive for many years.

Legacy

Legacy

Ecclesiastes 2: 21

For there is a man whose labor is in wisdom, knowledge, and equity; yet to a man that hath not labored therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.

Joel 1: 1 – 3

The word of the Lord came to Joel, the son of Pethuel.

Hear this, older men, and give ear, all ye land inhabitants. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

Tell your children of it, and let them tell their children, and their children another generation.

What will be your Legacy of how people remember you after you are gone? Give some of your time to help others that are in need. You can help people by listening to them, visiting with them, comforting them, taking them to appointments, and being a genuinely good and caring steward.

20150825_054109

What is the Legacy that you have done on Earth to strengthen your spiritual Legacy with God? Have you been the best steward you can be while you are here on Earth? Have you spread God’s good works wherever you go? Always remember the Lord came to serve and not to be served. Remember The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

butterfly

Will you leave a legacy you will be proud of for future generations? Have you made your parents proud of you while you have lived on Earth? I always strive to do things that will honor the values and teachings I have learned from my parents and God.

20151027_140536

Your Legacy is not about wealth or money. It is all about making the World a better place with the time that God gave you on Earth. Make other people’s lives more accessible while you are on Earth, and you will have left an everlasting Legacy that will make your children, parents, and God proud of you. God Bless all of you today and always!

My cats are my feline friends I love to care for and nurture every day. My cats are always there for me, also. They will lay by my side when I don’t feel well. Easter

Easter

Zechariah   11: 12 – 13

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; if not forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

And the Lord said unto me, cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

12: 10 – 11

And I will pour upon the house of David, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

On that day, shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon?

Acts 12 : 3

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he also proceeded to take Peter. [ Then were the days of unleavened bread.]

As we have learned from the teachings of the Bible, God so loved the World that he gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believeth in him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life and dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Jesus suffered terribly on the Cross for all of our sins. Jesus sacrificed himself to save all of us from death. All that believe in the Lord shall not perish but have eternal life. There are many rooms in heaven, and all of us that believe in the Lord shall live with the Lord in one of the many rooms that he has prepared for us.

Easter is about sacrifice and love that is so great and overpowering that we can hardly imagine giving one of our beloved children to save the lives of everyone in the World that believes in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God’s love of man transcends down through the ages.

20151027_142913

We often think of a sacrifice we have made, but our gifts fall short of the miracle God made to save us from death and give us everlasting life. Jesus said forgive them. They do not know what they did when he was being put on the Cross. How many of us would forgive our executioner?

20150831_072830

On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave. He has risen; he has risen indeed. We will have eternal life in the house of the Lord because Jesus died for our many sins. On Easter Sunday, I go to church and think of God’s sacrifice to save all of us who believe in him. I hope all of you will go to church on Easter Sunday and reflect on the sacrifice that was made to save us from all our sins so that we may dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Christ has risen. Christ has risen indeed. Grace, Love, Peace, Faith, Joy, and Hope be with you today and always. Have a happy and blessed Easter Sunday. Remember, God loves all of us.

I will stay home this Easter Sunday of 2020 and listen to my church’s Easter service on Facebook. God bless you and yours.

Impossible Is Not In My Vocabulary

Impossible Is Not In My Vocabulary

2   Corinthians  1: 18 – 20

But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not yea or nay.

For Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea or nay, but in him was yea.

For all the promises of God in him are yea and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

I always try to make the impossible possible. If someone tells me it is impossible to accomplish a goal I have set for myself, I am more than determined to prove them wrong. With willpower, determination, and a final drive to make your mission attainable, anything is possible.

peace memorial

Someone once told me I would not win a prize at the fair. You had to tell a farmer how to contour his land on his farm for the proper drainage for his crops. I told the farmer the exact contour of his farm’s land and won the prize. The prize outcome was about listening to the description of the land and finding a quick fix to fix wet cropland for optimal return on your investment compared to your input to correct the problem.

20150830_072601

Impossible does have some limitations depending on your health. Always watch the prize and make it happen if you want it bad enough; making the impossible possible takes patience, practice, and persistence. If you want to accomplish things in life, do not be afraid to ask for help and advice, as this is how you learn to make the impossible possible.

Draw a plan of what you want to get done and stick with it. Even small accomplishments can add up to big rewards in your life. Fixing and remodeling can sometimes seem unattainable until you start noticing the wonderful makeover of your home as time progresses. Your home can look like the magnificent home that it was initially.

marblehead house

Persistence, keeping your eye on the prize, and pure determination is the key to making the impossible possible in your life.

Why I Am a Blogger

Why I Am a Blogger

Blogging lets me express myself and tell you my story and experiences with various subjects. Blogging allows me to connect with people that have similar interests. I love cats and traveling, and am a lay minister at my local church. I love to write about cats, travel, and inspiration with Laura. One of our goals in life is to educate and inform others of what we have learned from our experiences. Blogging tells others quickly and efficiently.

20151027_140536

Blogging can be your main job or a hobby. It is what you want it to be for yourself and others to read—blog with a positive and informed attitude. Be fair to yourself and others when you blog. Never use vulgar and disgusting words. Love what you do in life, and then you will be very successful at what you do. I have a passion for writing and sharing my ideas with others.

If I happen to think about a  topic I want to blog about,t I write the post at that moment or write it down on paper for future reference. Blobbing is like a release of ideas coming together in a published format. Bloggers are good at expressing themselves, and I have found all of the bloggers I have met are very friendly, kind, and outgoing.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found

Ephesians 2: 12

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the World :

Luke 15: 8 -9

What woman having ten pieces of silver, if she loses one piece, doth light a candle, sweep the house, and seek diligently till she finds it?

And when she found it, she calleth her friends and neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece I had lost.

When we have lost something, we get anxious and nervous and start turning our house upside down until we once again have found our long-lost treasure. We feel great relief once we have found our lost item and returned it to its proper place in our home.

church

We get lost in the shuffle of life and forget the essential things in our life. We do not want to lose our relationship with God. Without our relationship with God, our relationships with other people suffer greatly. Go to church and surround yourself with others who want a long and lasting relationship with God. Belong to groups that bring out the best in you and support you along life’s many challenges. Make time for friends and family, and do not take them for granted; life is short, so spend your days wisely and effectively.

Comfort people when they feel like they are lost, so they feel like they have been found again. God is always there for you when you have lost your way in life. A sickness or an illness might be a way for you to realign your relationship with God and spread God’s good works to others that have a disease or loss in their life so that we may all feel like we have been found again for a higher calling or purpose in our life here on Earth.

Spring

Spring

Genesis  1: 11

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose origin is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Proverbs  27: 25

The hay appeareth, the tender grass showeth itself, and the herbs of the mountains are gathered.

I love Spring as it is a time of rebirth and re-awakenings. The seed that rested over the winter months burst into life again. The blossoms on the trees burst open, showing pretty flowers. New life is coming into the world as baby calves are born, and petite chicks break out of their shells to get their first look at the world.

The rains come and wash away the dirt that is left on the ground during the winter months. The earth looks clean and bright, and the buds on the trees are opening up more and more to show off their true fantastic beauty. Bees are getting ready to pollinate trees and gardens.

holly hocks

Birds have returned from their migration to build a new nests and start their new families again. The male birds sing lovely songs to attract their new mate for the year. All the birds are in the beautiful music and plucking up insects and worms from the ground to eat and feed to their offspring.

20151027_142925

Spring is a time of year for all of us to rebirth and regains a better relationship with God. We should study our Bible more and be more attentive to the needs of others. Pray for those sick, poor, or homeless, and help them however possible.

I love to plant a garden and watch the seeds turn into healthy, robust plants that I can eat and freeze and eat over the winter months. The corn fields are generally over knee high by the fourth of July. Remember that Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth for man, animals, and plants.

Unreliable

Unreliable

Ecclesiastes  10: 18

By much slothfulness the building decayeth: and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

Deuteronomy  32: 28

They are a nation void of counsel; neither is there any understanding in them.

We always want to hire reliable people that we can trust to get the job done right the first time around. When you hire an unreliable person, it is frustrating and annoying. I want things done in a professional and precise manner. I want a worker that I do not have to stand around and watch to ensure he is doing his job the way I would.

Years ago, my Father hired a carpenter to put up ceiling tile. The carpenter cut around the light fixture instead of taking it down and making a small hole for the wires to fit through. My Father had to redo the ceiling tile himself. I had to tell a carpenter how to put a new windowsill in years ago.

An unreliable car can be beyond annoying. The vehicle may not start when needed or never gets you from point A to point B. I sold that car and was glad to be rid of it. The car I sold was a 1987 car that I had bought used.

We need reliable people who we can always count on. God is always faithful, and we can always rely on God to be by our side in a crisis. God helps us when we need him the most.

red lighthouse

What does it mean to be reliable? Being reliable means you will show up to work on time and get things done quickly and professionally. You will be there when your friends, family, or relatives need you. There is no valid reason for people to be unreliable. God is reliable 24/7.
