Cursing or Swearing

Cursing or Swearing

Psalms 109:  17 – 18

As he loved cursing, let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

As he clothed himself with cursing like his garment, let it come into his bowels like water and like oil into his bones.

One of the Ten Commandments is: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Cursing will get you nowhere in life. It will set you back in life. Cursing or Swearing is a lack of intelligence on your part to use a better word to express how you are feeling just as effectively or more effectively than the swear word can. Do not take the name of our Lord thy God in vain, for he is always listening and looking at what you are writing or saying to each other about him.

20150825_054109

I do not enjoy watching a movie that uses a swear word in every other sentence. I do not enjoy talking to someone that is constantly swearing. I do not buy books to read that I know they are claiming and cursing up a storm in the book. If you cannot write a book without swearing, it is a massive problem regarding respect for God. God found it easy and healthy to communicate with people without swearing or cursing.

Remember, if you start swearing or cursing, it will be harder for you to stop doing it because it will be like a garment you clothe yourself with daily. God and other people will lose respect for you. Always watch the words that come out of your mouth, as you can never take them back again.

My Father once told me if I start swearing someday, I will do it in the most inappropriate spot and feel embarrassed and ashamed of myself. Remember, you never want to take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Speak to others and write to others without the use of swear words, and it will take you far in life.

Triumph

Triumph

Genesis  4: 7                                                                                                                                                                                                                         If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire,  and thou shalt rule over him.

2 Chronicles 14: 11

And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many or with them that have no power: help us O Lord our God; for we rest on thee and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

Will you triumph in your relationship with God? Will you avoid the evil that knocks on your door and tries to influence your life and values? If someone tries to lead you down the wrong path, avoid them at all costs. Your relationship with God is much more important than trying to fit in with a group of people that will only drag you down and harm you in the long run.

Choose your friends wisely, as the old saying goes. You become exactly like the company you keep. You start to believe in their values and develop the same mannerisms. Stand firm on your beliefs and values, and you will triumph. Do not follow the multitude if you know they are wrong. Do not follow a herd of Elephants, as you may be trampled and lose the values that make you the beautiful person you are now.

crystal

You triumph in this life, God’s good works, and helping needy people. Be kind and considerate to people and animals. If you make a mess, clean it up, and don’t leave it for someone else. Have friends in your life who support you and have values similar to yours. Be firm on your Christian values, and you will have triumphed in your relationship with God.

Death and Compassion

Death and Compassion

Isaiah 38: 10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave; I am deprived of the residue of my years.

Exodus 3: 7 And the Lord said, I have indeed seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmaster; for I know their sorrows.

Death comes like a thief in the night. You are never prepared for it and do not know when your death will occur. Death does not care if you are rich or poor. It treats us all equally and comes to all of us.

What you do while living on this earth affects many more people than you know. A simple act of kindness could save someone’s life or a kind word. If you are in the hospital, a visit from a friend may give you the will to carry on and spread God’ss wonderful works to other people in need. All of us are put here on earth to serve God so that he can see us at our best.

20161214_161549

Do random acts of kindness for people that they least expect and make their day brighter. God sometimes answers our prayers in ways we are unaware of until we think it through for a while. I have consistently grown closer to God when loved ones have died. God is my anchor and my salvation on earth. The lord came to serve, not to be done, and we should follow the same example. Always follow the Golden Rule.

I want to spread God’s good works while I can see them on earth. I want to visit the elderly in rest homes and the people in the Hospice program. The elderly have spent a lot of time teaching us through the years. The least we can do for them is to visit them while they are on their final journey in life.

Think about what you can do to spread God’s good works to people. Give food to the food bank, clothes to Goodwill, money to the salvation army for kids’ Christmas presents, and always listen to, be kind, considerate, and carrying and giving to other people. Fill people’s lives with joy, hope, peace, love, and compassion that you are here on earth daily.

Closer to Thee

Closer to Thee

Deuteronomy   4: 7

For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things we call upon him for?

James  4: 8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, purify your hearts, ye double-minded.

Getting closer to God is all about how you act around other people and read the Bible and if you follow the teachings in the Bible. Be kind to one another every day of your life. Help someone who needs a friendly voice, the elderly, the sick, the poor, and the downtrodden-ed. Remember, you will be on the receiving end someday and probably much sooner than you imagined possible.

20150830_072601

Live each day of your life like it might be your last day on earth because it will eventually be your last day on earth. Ask yourself whether I gave help where it was needed today. Did I make someone smile today? Did I help someone carry their groceries to their car, and did I accomplish all the goals I could have today to help someone in need?

Visiting people regularly lifts their spirits and yours. When someone comes into a room, welcome them with open arms, and they will feel welcomed and return to the group again soon. Do not ignore people; it makes them uncomfortable and unwelcome. Treat people with respect and do not judge people, for you have no idea what they have been through or endured in their lifetime. People have dealt with horrific and terrible things through the years, so be kind, considerate, and compassionate to your fellow man.

United We Stand Divided We Fall

United We Stand Divided We Fall

Titus  1: 4

To Titus, own my son after the common faith; Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

Galatians   3: 28

There is neither Jew nor Greek nor bond nor free; there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians   2: 14

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Without unity or a common cause, a United Church could not exist. Members come to church with a common cause to Worship God and to have fellowship. By having people come together with a common cause, many good things can get done quickly and efficiently. Mission work gets done by having different individuals donate items, and each person brings their talents to the table, and the group has become one in a common cause. Unity takes time, and relationships must be established and grow in trust, faith, and understanding.

20151027_142913

People all excel in different hidden talents which can enhance the growth of their church. Some people are good at singing, reaching out to others in Christian Love, cooking or baking, bookwork, and so much more.

The church. It is divided on what they want, nothing will get done, and the church will suffer significantly because of the divide. A good church leader can mend the divide. The leader will help them see the bigger picture, spreading God’s good works. You cannot apply God’s good results without unity in your church.

I am glad that I belong to a United Church and that we have fellowship, mission groups, church breakfast, and a wonderful pastor, and we are all United in a common cause which is to spread God’s good works every day of our lives here on Earth. May everyone find peace, hope, faith, love, grace, and joy in their life today and always.

The Door of Opportunity

The Door of Opportunity

Hosea  2: 15

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of A – chor for a door of hope; and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth and the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

We are all called to a door of hope in our life, perhaps a wedding, a newborn baby, a new job, a new opportunity, and a new house.

When one door closes in your life, you can open a new one if you set your mind to making it happen. If you get an illness, you may have to change gears completely. You may find a new job that is much more rewarding in the long run than the old job you used to have. I love to write and visit people in nursing homes. Staying with people who have given us so much throughout the years is rewarding. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face and make their day a little more enjoyable.

20151027_142913

If you have to relocate for a job opportunity, you will have some anxiety about making new friends and connections. Your old friends will always stay in touch with you, and you will also make many new friends along life’s many journeys.

Many new opportunities will come your way in life; don’t be afraid to embrace them. Change is one constant thing in our lives, and we know it might be better for us in the long run. The older we get, the less we like changes in our life. By changing our lives, we learn more than we ever thought possible.

Traveling let you embrace the World and discover that people all over the World want the same things in life. We all want hope, joy, love, and peace in our lives every day that we are on earth.

Steadfast Love

Steadfast Love

Psalms   52: 8

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

James 1: 2 – 4

My brethren count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations ;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

As you travel down the highway of life, there will be many detours, but you must stay on the right path to get where you want to be. Your relationship with God must be Steadfast, tried, and authentic with much faith and grace. Strive every day of your life to have a more robust and better relationship with God. You will notice that your relationships with other people will also be much more substantial. A strong, loving, caring bond with God can never be broken.

20150829_084512

Be Steadfast with your goals in life, and you will notice that you truly can accomplish most, if not all, of your dreams. If you start a job, finish it, and do it professionally, anyone and everyone will appreciate it. A half-completed job shows no respect or honor to the person you work for. Be Steadfast and always strive to let the best in you shine through for all the World to see. God always looks for the best in people, so let him see the best in you by being kind, caring, compassionate, and helping people in need. The Lord came to serve and not to be served. Follow his example in your own life, and you will go far.

Steadfast Love knows no boundaries or limitations; you love the sick, lonely, and homeless in loving these people; you also love what God stands for, as he has a Steadfast love for everyone here on earth. Be sure to spread God’s good works every day of your life. May you have Steadfast Love, grace, and faith in your life today and always.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Luke 17 : 3-4

Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespasses against thee; rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

And if he trespasses against thee seven times in one day, and seven times in a day, turn again to thee. Saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

When you do not forgive someone for what they said or did to you, it hurts you much more than it will ever hurt them. They do not stay awake at night thinking about what they said to you or how they hurt you. You are the one up all night long, letting your anger fester inside of you and letting it rob you of valuable time in your life.

20151027_140536

Do not hold a grudge against people; nothing will be gained, but much will be lost. Do not go to bed angry; go to bed with kindness and forgiveness.

It is easy to forgive someone if they have genuinely repented from their sins and much more complicated if they have not. Please do not put yourself on the same level as the person that has trespassed against you, for you will be no better off than they are. Forgive your sinner so he can find the grace of God back in his heart again.

By not forgiving people for their sins, you destroy your health and focus all your energy and time on how that person wronged and hurt you. Always remember we are all sinners, and no one is perfect.

By forgiving people, you are doing them an excellent service. They will probably not make the same mistake again with another person. Their connection to God should be much more robust. Your connection to God should be stronger also because you have forgiven one of God’s children.

Time

Time

Ecclesiastes 1: 4

One generation passeth away and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth forever.

1 Chronicles 29: 15

For we are strangers before thee and sojourners, as were our fathers: our days on earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.

Job 9: 26

They are passed away like the swift ships: the eagle that hasteth prey.

Time is a valuable gift. Do not flutter away your days on earth. Make your days on earth creative and beautiful because today is a gift from God, and do not waste the day away on unnecessary things. Ensure you learn something new daily, as this will enrich your days.

Spend time with friends and relatives because the day will come when they will no longer be on earth. Family time enriches your children’s life and lets them know you love them. Meet up with friends and family often, go to lunch, dinner, or coffee, and spend quality time together. When you give people the gift of your time together, they know they are appreciated and loved.

Travel while you can and see the earth’s majestic beauty, and you will be amazed at all the sights and things you can learn by traveling. Go to the countries of your heritage and learn more about your roots. Look at the mountains, oceans, and buildings, and learn more about the people and their heritage in each country you travel to.

20150831_072830

The older you get, the more you know how precious time is here. Do not put off for tomorrow what you know you can achieve today, as tomorrow may not come to you. Time is like two ships that pass in the night. Spend your time helping people that need your love and support. Spend quality time with family and friends while you can. The day will come too soon, and you will lose family members and friends. You will never regret spending quality time with your loved ones. May your time in life be enjoyable healthy, and long.

Christmas

Christmas

Isaiah 9: 6 – 7

For unto us, a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and justice from henceforth, even forever. The Zeal of the Lord of host will perform this.

Matthew 2: 1 – 2

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

I was saying where is he that is born King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the east and are coming to worship him.

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our heavenly Father, Christ the Lord. Christmas is not about Christmas presents. Christmas is a time that we rejoice in the delivery of Christ. I love spending Christmas with family and friends and feeling valued as Christ was when he was born in a manger. Before we eat on Christmas day, we say the Lord’s prayer and bless the food and all the hands that went into the preparation of the meal, and we are thankful for all who are gathered at the table this year. We remember our loved ones who have passed on and are grateful for the time that the Lord gave us the wonderful gift of having them bless our lives.

Wesley Church

Christmas represents peace, joy, love, and hope. Christ the Lord has given us peace, joy, love, and hope. Spending time with loved ones at Christmas gives you a feeling of great joy. Seeing the Church lite up on Christmas eve surrounds you with hope for the future. Peace and harmony are abundant with family, friends, and Church on Christmas day. There is no love equal to the love our Lord Jesus has for everyone here on earth.

Remember, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our Lord, The Prince of Peace. Spend time with loved ones on Christmas day, always remembering that Christmas is all about the birth of Christ. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas.
