The Art Of Negotiation

The Art Of Negotiation

Know What You Want To Pay

I start negotiating when I buy something and don’t like the asking price. Research the cost of the item you are trying to purchase before shopping for it. If you can buy the same thing at another store, ask the store if they can bet the other store’s price. Generally, they can beat their fee by 5 to 10 percent. Go online and research what the item you wish to have is selling for. I would instead buy local if I could then buy online. You do not have anyone local to repair an item you buy online. Customer service means a great deal to me.

Negotiate With The Owner Of The Business

Starting a negotiation with the business owner rather than with one of his employees is much easier. I have negotiated deals on furniture, appliances, carpet, cars, outdoor equipment, etc. The money you save can be used to buy groceries, clothes, books, and much more for your family. I have held $75.00 on a new stove, $150.00 on a new recliner, and $50.00 on a chainsaw. They will negotiate a better deal with you if you are a repeat customer.

When You Sell Something, Leave Yourself Some Wiggle Room

Some people will try to buy something for nothing. I like people that negotiate within reason. I once owned a store, and a man came in and offered me $20.00 for a $200.00 couch. He became mad when I told him I could not sell it to him for that figure. He told me he would tell all his friends not to come to my store. I told him, please do it. I do not want that type of customer in my store anyway. Start your price higher so you can come down in price. Most people will never ask for more than 15% off your asking price.

Do Not Be Pressured Into Buying Something

Some salesmen will tell you that you must buy the item they have today or tomorrow it will be much higher in price. I have said that ten people are interested in what I am looking at and that it will most likely be gone tomorrow. I buy things on my terms, not their terms.

Be Patient And Tell Yourself You Do Not Have To Buy The Item of Your Dreams Today

If you see something in a store that you want to buy and cannot afford it, wait at least a month, and they will lower the price if they can. If a store sells the item of your dreams, you will find another one eventually, unless it is a scarce item you should buy if you can agree on the selling price. I waited for one thing for 20 years and finally purchased it. I did not mind waiting for it as it made it more precious.

Waiting

Waiting

All of us have to wait for things in our daily lives. Some of us get impatient quickly and tend to blow a fuse; good things come to those who wait, as the old saying goes. Sometimes if we wait too long for something, the lifetime opportunity passes us by. God wants us to use our minutes on earth productively to enhance the lives of others and teach each other the knowledge that we have learned in our daily lives. Never let someone try to rob you of your time with God, for that is your most precious gift.

I wouldn’t say I like waiting for a long train, and I tend to turn around and find a road I can get through. Waiting in long lines for something gets tiring, especially if it is hot or cold. One time I had to stay at a doctor’s. Office all day from 6 AM till 4 PM when I finally got in. The Doctor had an emergency, but no one informed me about it. Some people think it is OK to come to a business when they are about to lock their doors for the day. I am punctual, so no one has to wait for me.

When you make someone wait for you, you are controlling them. Never wait for anyone over ten minutes unless they call you with a valid reason why you must wait. Waiting takes time off of your life when you could have accomplished many things in the time that was stolen from your life by waiting around. Respect others, and never expect them to wait around for you. Their time is no less valuable than your time is to you.

Time is a precious gift, so use it wisely and do not rob time from others by making them wait needlessly. We have to wait for many things in our life, but I refuse to wait for the things I genuinely do not have to do. There are only 24 hrs. in the day. I want to make the best of all those 24 hrs. I finish my work early, so I can take it easy and relax later in the day.

Waiting for the perfect picture or waiting to catch a big fish is relaxing. Waiting for test results is never relaxing, as you are on pins and needles. Waiting to hear about test results from a medical procedure is very nerve-racking. I do not think we genuinely like to stay for things unless it is something good to look forward to. I do not mind waiting for a planned vacation next year, an upcoming day trip, or eating out. Sometimes we have to grin and bear it as we have no alternative but to wait.

We will have to wait a good percentage of our lives for things. The average person spends six months in line for appointments and much more. On average, we spend 43 days of our life waiting on automated calls for customer service and more. If you are stuck in a traffic jam, make the best of it. While waiting for the traffic to clear, listen to music, call a friend, and relax. Remember, other people have to wait just like you. Be kind and considerate, and do not be rude or unruly just because you have to wait in traffic. Respect and be kind to others.

Strange Cat Behavior

Strange Cat Behavior

Rolling Around In The Dirty Cat Litter

Cats will roll around in their kitty litter to take a dirt bath. Outdoor cats may move around in your garden or on your sidewalk as the dirt removes the excess oils in their hair. If your kitty litter has sand consistency, they will roll around in it, perhaps. Some cats put their scent in the litter box by moving around in the trash. I guess it is their way of saying they do not want any other cats in your household to use that litter box. Use corn-based, pine, or walnut cat litter to eliminate the problem. No one wants a cat sitting on their lap or sleeping in their bed that has had a litter box dust bath. Use waterless shampoo on your cat to clean him up. If you see him take a total kitty litter dust bath.

Why Did My Cat Pee On That?

Cats pee on things to mark their territory. Cats will pee on a stranger’s clothing in your home if they do not like them for some reason. If you introduce a new female cat, some female cats will start peeing on things in your home. Your matriarch female cat wants to remain the female head cat of your home forever. Sometimes cats will start peeing on your large houseplants if they do not think their kitty litter is clean enough or it does not live up to their standards as far as kitty litter goes. Never change kitty litter brands without leaving their old brand out, as they may refuse to use the new brand of cat litter. Toms pee on things to mark their territory. Cat may stake their claim to something by peeing on it.

Licking Their Hair Off

Your at may have allergies and is therefore licking off his hair. A cat with fleas will lick its hair off as it is itching, and its skin is irritated from the biting fleas. A nervous cat may lick off almost all its inches in one area of its body. A cat under stress can exhibit this kind of behavior. Give your cat a bath with a product that your Vet recommends for this problem.

Why Is My Cat Scrunching Up His Nose

Your cat will turn up his nose if he smells something terrible or not to his liking. If you hold another cat, your cat may smell that on your clothes and turn up his nose. A cat may smell a gas leak in your home and turn up his nose to alert you to impending danger. If another cat rubs against my blue jeans, my other cat may turn up his nose to tell me he does not want me to pay so much attention to the other cat.

Bored Cat Behavior

Your cat may scratch your furniture or do something he knows you do not like to get your attention. Some cats will play chase with their tail. Your cat may lay on your bookwork because they feel you have been spending too much time on it that could have been spent on them. Cats are very jealous and loving pets. I cannot imagine life without a cat or two or three or more in it.

Your Outlook On Life

Your Outlook On Life

How Do You See Your Life?

Do you see your life in a good or bad light? All of our lives will have dark spots in them now and then. We will have disappointments, sicknesses, the death of a loved one, and much more over our lifetimes. I like to look at my life in a positive sense. You can accomplish many things in your life if you put your heart and soul into achieving the goals you have set for yourself.

Look For The Bright Spots In Your Life

Look to God for guidance in your daily living, as he will lead you to bright spots. Pull up the shades in your house every morning to let God’s light shine in on you. Look forward to family vacations and spending time with your loved ones. Visit with people daily as they can help you shed new light on things. Always remember two heads are better than one for resolving problems and creating the best solution to make your day shiny and bright again.

Your Goals Change In Life As You Grow Older

You will probably want to downsize your business as you grow older or pass on your skills to one of your children so they can take over the family business. There will be many transitions that we will have to make in life. How you handle changes will significantly impact your outlook on life. Be glad you have lived to retirement, for some people never get the chance. Relax and do things that you have put off doing. If you have always wanted to write, now is the time. Spend more time with God and pray without ceasing and let God guide you on what he wants you to do that will help the most people possible.

God Is My Anchor In Life

I let God guide me in what he wants me to do. I visit and talk to people in rest homes and assisted living units; the elderly are still blessed to live in their homes. I write inspirationswithlaura to help spread God’s good works. Give people a surprise gift occasionally, and it will make them smile. Be kind, generous, compassionate, loving, and caring toward your fellow man. Always try to put yourself in the other person’s shoes.

God’s Love Letter To Us That Will Improve Our Outlook On Life

God has given us the Bible as his love letter to us. A woman that has received love letters from her husband will never part with them, and she will reread them often. God wants us to reread the Bible often and use it as a guide in our daily living and interactions with othersThe Bible is God’s book that will help you keep a positive outlook on life. You can help others have a more positive outlook on their life by passing on what you have learned by reading the Bible. God bless your life with a positive and bright shiny outlook.

How To Live With Your Cats When You Are Allergic To Them

How To Live With Your Cats When You Are Allergic To Them

Wash Your Bedding Regularly And Clean Your Home Often

Keep your cats out of your bedroom to have a cat-free zone. Wash your bedding regularly as your cat will sit on your lap, and you may have pet dander in your hair just because you petted your cat while he was in your lap. Wash your bedding and other soft fabric items in hot water to eliminate the allergens. Eliminate drapes and throw rugs if possible, as they catch a lot of cat hair and dander. Wash your floors and clean all areas of your home often. Throw away stuffed toys or wash them in hot water if possible. Replace your throw pillows with new ones. Vacuum your furniture, carpet, floors, and more very often. Buy a vacuum with a HEPA filter. Buy an air purifier for your home. Have the heat runs cleaned out in your home.

Wash Your Hands Every Time You Touch Your Cat

By washing your hands, you will eliminate allergens from entering your eyes if you happen to rub your eyes. If you touch your face, your face will not itch if you have washed your face after handling your cat. Wash your hands before you prepare food for yourself and others as an act of cleanliness, regardless of allergies. After all, your kitty uses the litter box.

Do Not Let Your House Cat Outdoors

You will be surprised by all the allergens your cat can bring into your home after being outdoors for just one minute. Your cat can bring fleas into your home, and you and your cats will have a scratching frenzy. You will have to clean everything in your home with hot water and have your carpets cleaned and your whole house fumigated twice to eliminate the little biting creatures. Cats bring pollen in on their hair after being out, which gets deposited on your drapes, carpet, and more. A wild animal may attack your house cat, get rabies, or be run over by a vehicle.

Groom And Clean Your Cats Often

Comb or brush your cat’s hair often to help eliminate cat dander. Comb your cat out in a controlled area of your home so you will not have pet dander flying everywhere, adding to your allergy problem. Wash your cats with an allergy shampoo or use a dry or rub-on liquid shampoo to help eliminate pet dander.

Wash Your Cats Bedding And Vacuum Off His Pet Towers

Wash all of your cat’s bedding in boiling water. Clean the litter boxes to eliminate mold and pet urine allergies. Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter, so you are not throwing cat allergens all over the room while you vacuum. A vacuum without a HEPA filter is worthless for eliminating cat allergens as it does only redistribute them. Cleanliness is next to Godliness and makes for a happy home for you and your cat, where you can coexist with your allergies and feline friends.

Treat Your Elders With Respect

Treat Your Elders With Respect

You can learn a lot of life values from your Elders. Your Elders have been through and have seen many different and unique situations in their lifetime. They will tell you their stories if you only take the time to listen. If we do not listen to the advice of our Elders, we are doomed to make very costly mistakes in our lives.

Respect Should Be A Given

Respect for one another should be a given. We should respect ourselves and others. Without regard for people, we have lost a great deal. Everyone has self-worth, kindness, and compassion in their soul if they will only pass it on to others. History is doomed to repeat itself if we do not learn from it.

Listen To Your Elders

When one is older, one wants to be around loving and caring people. You would not be where you are today without your Elders’ knowledge. Take time to listen to what your Elders are telling you. I love to visit with older people. They have a vast knowledge and wealth of information that makes you think and will take you far in life.

Remember to shut your cell phones off and carry on a conversation with your Elders, as it is insulting to text each other back and forth and ignore them. You may learn about World War 2, farming with horses, carpentry, and how to have a successful business.

Talk To Your Grandparents

Ask your Grandparents how it was growing up years ago. They probably went dancing, roller skating, and more in their free time. They had a lot of work to get done daily as they did not have computers and all the equipment we have today.

Seniors Deserve To Be Treated With The Utmost Respect

Seniors deserve to be treated with the utmost respect in care facilities. No one should ever mistreat someone relying on someone for their everyday well-being. Remember, we are all getting older and will be in a care facility someday, maybe much sooner than we think.

Visit And Help Your Neighbors

People would visit with their neighbors years ago and help each other if they had a crisis. Remember to take time to converse with someone today, and you will most likely put a smile on each other’s faces. God listens to and helps us every day of our lives, and we should do the same for others.

Caring For Your Elderly House Cat

Caring For Your Elderly House Cat

Pay Close Attention To Minor Changes In Your Cats Behavior As They Can Become Major Quickly

A slight cough may turn into a major issue if left untreated. Your cat could have the equivalent of a human cold or need antibiotics. Your cat may also have lung cancer if he has lost a lot of weight. A cat that claws at his mouth probably has a tooth that should be pulled to prevent injury to his heart and other major health issues. If your cat is quiet and meowing constantly, something is up with him. If your cat has constant diarrhea, take him to your Vet ASAP, as he may become dehydrated quickly. A cat that does not groom himself is a sure sign of some health condition taking him down quickly. A cat that hardly eats anymore needs to see your Vet immediately. An older cat drinking water constantly and urinating more than usual may be diabetic. They make diabetic shots that you can administer to treat your cat’s condition.

A  Sick Cat Is Good At Masking His Condition

Cats have to put on an act to survive in the wild. The old saying says survival of the fittest applies to your house cat’s way of acting. Know and memorize how your cat works while he is healthy. If your cat always holds his tail straight up in the air and now his seat is straight down, he is not feeling well. Your cat’s eyes may be watery, and you may see nasal discharge, so you know something is happening with him health-wise. If your cat rests or lays in his heated bed most of the day, he is not up to par.

Your Elderly Cat Will Have To See Your Vet More Often

I generally take my older cats to the Vet twice or maybe six times yearly. Your older cat will need more health maintenance, just as we do as we age. Having your Vet always check your cat’s teeth is a good idea, as bad teeth can ruin your cat’s heart and general health. You may need to give your cat some arthritis medicine if you notice him limping or if his legs seem stiff when he maneuvers around. It is a good idea to put stairs for cats next to your bed, so they will not injure themselves entering and exiting your bed for their catnaps.

I hope You And Your Elderly Cat Will Have Many Happy And Healthy Years Together.

If you focus on and stay on top of your cat’s health issues as they age, you should enjoy each other’s company for many years. My cousin has an outdoor cat that is 22 years young, and she is still hunting and lying in the sun and enjoys playing with her offspring. The Golden Years can be Golden with the proper care and being around one who loves and cares for you forever.

The Ways Of The World

The Ways Of The World

Good And Bad

There will always be good and bad people in the World until the end of time. Some people will say the World is a terrible place. The truth is that a few wrong people seem to set the standard for people’s thinking. Try to think of all the good and positive things that happen in the World because of good people. News tends to focus on the wrong, and the good people are not mentioned much. People destroy the World with greed and disrespect for nature and what it has to offer us. Luckily we have people that try to save endangered species and are also helping with the drastic climate changes that tend to produce more devastation than ever on our planet earth. Climate change has more storms, and deforestation affects our rich oxygen supply, drastically affecting the next generation. Are car emissions affecting the ice caps that keep melting away, affecting the habitat for Polar Bears, and so much more?

Traveling In The World

When you are traveling and need help, someone will point you in the right direction. I have had excellent luck asking a young person where a particular attraction is. Most young people in foreign countries can speak English fluently. People, on the whole, are beneficial and friendly. I love meeting and talking to people in foreign countries. I like learning about the vast history of the country they grew up in, and I love sharing their stories with you. I visited a farming community still with milk cows and sheep in the field. I could hear the cows ringing the cow bells around their necks as they gathered in the barn in the early morning. The cows walked into their milking stalls, and the farmer milked them by hand. The sheep were baaing away in the pasture. I noticed some free-range chickens and a farm cat in their yard. I patted the sheep and the cat on the head. I fed a sheep a piece of divinity candy which it seemed to enjoy very much.

The World And What It Beholds Is A Very Precious Gift

God has given us a beautiful and bountiful World to live in. We must maintain the treasures in the World, or we will not be able to live on planet earth anymore. We cannot keep robbing resources from our planet without replacing them. If we cut down more trees, we can adapt our ad to global warming. Fracking can put dangerous chemicals in our water supply. God made us the stewards of the land, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea. Our job is not to pollute and destroy our planet so that nothing can live on it. We have to protect our precious planet for future generations, or we w, will destroy humanity and all of the inhabitants living in the World. God blesses us with the knowledge and the love of the planet to keep us living on a clean and healthy planet for many years.

My Secret To A Happy Life

My Secret To A Happy Life

The secret to a happy life is to be fulfilled in what you do and pursue in life. Keep busy and active, surround yourself with people, and stay close to your family connections. Pursue activities that stimulate you and that enhance the lives of others. Make a list of what you wish to accomplish every day, and you will get a lot done if you are determined to complete everything you have written on your list.

I love to travel and see the different architecture that the area has. I am glad I have had the opportunity to walk down the same streets my ancestors walked down in the old country. I saw the place where my Great Grandfather lived until he came to America. He was not the eldest son, so he moved to America to make a  life for himself. He came to America with his wife, and they had children in America. He purchased farmland and built a house; I still live on the same building site. America is truly a land of opportunity.

I love living in the country. I love the wide open spaces and the smell of freshly worked land. I love to watch the baby farm animals grow. I have been around cats all of my life. Cats are wonderful companions that make life more enjoyable. I enjoyed being around cattle, pigs, and chickens. I would feed the pigs and gather the chicken eggs years ago. I would follow my Grandfather and Father around the farm and watch them repair cars, lawnmowers, and farm equipment. I loved visiting the multiple ‘neighbors’ farms and watching repairs being made. I enjoy watching the crops grow, and the combines gather up the harvest for the year. I love the quietness and peacefulness that the country has to offer. Neighbors still help one another when someone passes away. They help support the family by assisting them in harvesting the crop.

I am thrilled to have had outstanding and excellent parents. My parents always supported me in my en-devours and my accomplishments. Good parents, friends, relatives, and supportive people will make you truly happy, and you will live the life you always dreamed of living. I love writing and sharing my adventures and experiences with you through blogging. I loved helping my parents paint and make repairs to the rental homes that we had. I continued with the rental business until I retired. A purposeful life full of friends and God’s blessings are there for all who pursue its comforts. I hope you are having a happy life and living your dreams.

At Face Value

At Face Value

It Is Hard To Take Someone At Face Value Sometimes

If someone lies consistently, taking anything they say at face value is hard. An actual face value is something genuine without being questioned. The face value is the price printed on an item we wish to purchase. I once went to a store that had two different prices on the same thing in their store. They told me I would have to pay a higher price. I told them that that was false advertising and that I would have to call the Better Business Bureau or the FTC. The store manager showed up ASAP and told them to sell it to me at the advertised price. I do not like false advertising as a come-on to get you into their store. I will leave the store ASAP if they do not have the item I came for. I once looked at a Himalayan cat that they said could have kittens. I asked to talk to the cat’s original owner, and they told me she was barren. Luckily I spoke to the former owner and did not get taken by the new owner. I have looked at many cars over the years at Dealer Ships, and they told me the vehicle was accident-free. Before making a decision, I always talked to the former owner and discovered that 75%  of the cars had had at least $4000.00 worth of damage to their vehicle. Sometimes a car dealer will tell you the vehicle has been serviced. I took a car to an independent repair shop, and they said it had not been serviced for some time. Be extra careful who you take at face value.

We Can Take God At Face Value Always

God is our constant companion in life and our constant caregiver. God cares about all of his children on earth and the trials and tribulations each of us has. Even when times are wrong in our life due to an illness or severe disease, we know there will eventually be light at the end of the tunnel. God answers all of our prayers in his time frame. We get impatient as we want immediate results. Most things in life are worth waiting for. All good things come to those who wait.

We look forward to an upcoming event in our life.

We look forward to family gatherings and going on a nice long vacation.

We look forward to going out to eat with friends and family. We enjoy waiting for events that we find to be pleasant and rewarding. We wait for God to call us to Heaven with open arms.

We look forward to being with God, family, pets, and the angels in Heaven someday. We will have a beautiful and lovely reunion with God in Heaven eventually. Thank you, God, for your divine plan for all of us.
