Easter Memories

We would go to church on Easter Sunday and generally go to the sunrise service. We would eat breakfast with our church family. After breakfast, we would attend our church service. Our minister would always give an excellent sermon about Easter. I would have on a new dress and an Easter bonnet. My Mother would have a new dress on, and my Father would wear his Sunday suit.

Christ and Easter

Christ died for our sins on the cross. No one can have a greater love for one than to lay down their life for one. At Easter, let us reflect on how God has blessed us and the many prayers he has answered for us. Christ is the reason we can know that our spirit or soul will be in heaven someday. Christ is risen. He has risen indeed. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Easter Gatherings

For lunch on Easter, we would generally eat with our relatives. We would have a ham dinner, potatoes, vegetables, sweet potatoes, and dessert. While the adults would visit, the kids would play board games. The youngest children would eat at the card table, while the main table was reserved for the adults.

Easter and Children

Easter eggs would be hidden in the house for us youngsters to find. We would eat the candy inside of the plastic eggs. My mother helped me decorate Easter eggs with various colors and designs. I had an Easter basket that my grandmother had given me for years. I recently gave it to my young cousin’s children. I hope they will enjoy it as much as I did during childhood. I had a stuffed Easter bunny and baby chick toys.

Easter is a Time of Renewal

I now eat out with friends or relatives after Easter Sunday worship. Easter is a time of renewal and new beginnings. I enjoy tulips, Easter lilies, and nature’s beauty every day. I hope you and your family will make many memorable and Happy Easter memories. God Bless you and yours.

Put Yourself In The Other Person’s Place

How would you feel if you did not feel well and someone was mean and uncaring of your situation? I would feel worse than I did, to begin with, and most of us would. Try to help someone who is not well. Call them and reach out to see if you could help them get groceries or take them to an appointment. Buy a book for them to read or candy or flowers for them to look at. Talk to them on the phone as another person’s voice can be calming and healing. Never tell someone I know how you feel because you have no idea how they feel until you have been in their situation.

Be Slow To Anger

Yelling or upsetting someone is always uncalled for. Talk out the situation after you have thought about it for a while. Remember, maybe some of the blame lies on your shoulders. Never write a letter to anyone until you have cooled down and thought over the situation entirely. Stay calm, relaxed, and collected, and you will be glad you did when everything is said and done. A person who can talk things out is much wiser than one who lets his serpent tongue go. Never go to bed being angry at anyone. All of us make mistakes or grievous errors now and then.

If You Do Not Get Your Way, Do Not Have A Hissy Fit

You do not always have the ride away in traffic, and you have to wait your turn. Some people start yelling because of a traffic jam. The traffic jams will not clear up any sooner if you lose your temper. Remember, all good things come to those who wait patiently and silently. Children may have a temper tantrum, but adults should know much better. In front of your children, act like you want them to behave as adults. After all, they learn by example.

God Is Always Compassionate And Understanding With Us

God is slow to anger. He forgives us for our sins if we truly repent. He is very compassionate with us when we are sick and frail. God understands our thoughts and tries to lead us in the right direction in our lives that will serve him and others. God loves every single hair on our heads. God answers all of our prayers in his timeframe. He does not want any of his children to suffer. With God by your side, you will not suffer for long as he will care for you. God understands you better than anyone ever can and is more compassionate than anyone else.

Lift People Up And Have Joy When They Have Accomplishments In Their Life

If someone writes a book, congratulate them on their accomplishment. If a young person graduates from college, compliment them on a job well done. Honor people who go the extra mile to make someone’s life better and more pleasant through caring deeds. Be a go-to person for others and lift them to the highest mountain top so they can get a bird’s eye view of their accomplishments while on earth. Bring joy into people’s hearts.

Nature And Spring

New Born Farm Animals

I love to see newborn baby lambs frolicking around on the farm. I used to love playing with the kittens born in the spring. I would carry them all around the farm when they were big enough to take away from their Mother. I used to hold a dark-colored calico named Blacknose when I rode my trike at about three or four. When they were big enough, my cats would wait with me while I waited to ride on the school bus. The good old days of being a child growing up on the family farm. We raised piglets; our Sows generally have six to eight little piglets. When it was time to separate them from their Mother, the Mother did not like it, and she made a bit of a fuss naturally. I loved it when we got baby chicks from the hatchery, as they were beautiful and had yellow feathers. They lived in a brooder house with a heat lamp and grew quickly. There is nothing prettier or cuter than newborn babies.

Working The Soil And Planting A Garden

Nothing is more rewarding than working up your garden soil, planting seeds or plants, and watching them grow. I love the smell of freshly worked-up soil. I put garden fertilizer on the soil and work] it into the ground before I plant anything in it. I put natural weed killer in my garden as I like an organic garden. I rotate where I grow things in my garden to prevent infestations and plant diseases.

I look forward to eating leafy green vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes, squash, green beans, and more.

Spring Is A Time Of Renewal

Everything comes back to life again after hibernation over the winter. When I work the garden soil, I will see frozen toads turned up out of the soil, and after the sun hits them for a while, they will jump around and find their spring home. Trees start to bud out, and leaves and blossoms soon follow, leaving the air with the smell of beautiful flowers. Tulips rise from the ground, and many different flower colors and shapes of tulips fill the landscape with beauty. Everything on earth needs a time of renewal. We have taken it easier in the winter months, and now is the time to work and enjoy the fruits of your harvest later in the year.

The Joy Of Springtime

I have a magnolia tree that is generally loaded with blossoms and has beautiful pink tulip-shaped petals. I also have a beautiful rhododendron bush that has beautiful blue-colored flowers. I have an apple, pear, and peach tree with lovely-smelling flowers and delicious apples at harvest time. The birds return from their winter homes, baby birds are born, and their parents are busy feeding them. They eat a lot of food from my bird feeders. Spring shows us that renewal is just around the corner after a long winter. Start your spring with joy in your heart. God has created many beautiful days to enjoy on earth before you go to your heavenly home.

Lime Light

Do You Like Being The Center Of Attention?

I would rather blend in with people than be the center of attention. Some people want to be noticed constantly. They talk continually, so you cannot get a word in edge-wise. They ensure they are the last to enter a room, so all focus must be on them. They run late for many events, so everyone will ask where Jane Doe is. Sometimes, they like to complain about things to hear themselves complain over nothing relevant to anyone else.

Once You Are In The Lime Light, It Is Hard To Get Out Of It

If you are famous, you are constantly in the limelight, whether you like it or not. Famous people sometimes go to remote islands so they can not be hounded by photographers and other well-meaning people who want an autograph. Famous people also try to protect their children from being watched and followed so they can try to live an everyday life. Everyone wants some alone time now and then to think, relax, and unwind.

Some People Are In The Lime Light For Bad Things They Have Done While On Earth

Sadly, famous bad people live on through horrible acts they have committed against humanity. People will say, “Did you hear that John Doe robbed another bank today? When Bonnie and Clyde robbed a bank, it was shown on the movie screen before the movie started years ago, and many people in the audience clapped for Bonnie and Clyde sadly. The people who have committed horrible acts while on earth will pay for them on judgment day, as no one can run away from their past Scott-free.

Heroes Among Us

Heroes deserve some limelight for their incredible acts to save people’s lives and protect them from things that would have most likely killed them if heroes had not stepped forward to save, serve, and protect. Military personnel, police officers, firefighters, medical personnel, and many more put their lives on the line to save ours. We should respect our soldiers and thank them for their years of service. Our heroes deserve to be in the limelight.

God And Lime Light

Always remember you would be nothing without God in your life. God is our great deemer, and he is there for us 24/7. God has saved my life many times through prayer and having the right person in my life at the right time. His hand can guide your surgeon’s hand, your friend’s hands, and many more. When I needed someone to help me, God provided the right person at the right time to help. God is a shining beacon in the night, and if you follow God’s compass for life, you will never be lost very long. God should be the number one being in your life. Love and honor God to your last dying breath and beyond, for without him, you would be nothing. God, I thank you daily for the many blessings you have given me. God will be in the limelight forever. Good always prevails over evil. God’s light shines all over the World.

Do Not Get Stuck On One Page In Your Life

If you focus on one thing that happened in your life years ago, you will not be able to move to the next page. Life is like turning the pages in a book. Somedays, everything will tend to go wrong that, possibly, can go wrong. If you turn the page and proceed to the next page, you could potentially have a fantastic, memorable, and relaxing day. I am glad to turn the pages in my book of life because that is living life to its full potential.

Your Life Will Have Many Chapters In It, So Keep Turning Those Pages With Joy

The first chapter will be the day you were born and how much joy you gave your parents. They watched you walk across the room for the first time and say the word, Momma. They took you to school for the first time and accused you you would be fine. They asked you how you liked school. You finally walked or rode your bike to school on your own. The teenage years can be complicated for parents and teenagers. The teenager thinks they know it all, and they try to test out their boundaries. By high school, the teenager is more mature and can drive and decide what they want to pursue. The parents are happy to see their young adult graduate from high school, get a job, or go to college to further their education. When I graduated from high school, I celebrated at home, and friends and relatives came. We had ice cream and cake. I went on to college and took all the business courses I could, which have helped me with my career. You may get married and start a family that brings great joy and love.

Travel Can Be A Wonderful Chapter In Your Life

You will have many pages to turn in your book of life when you travel. Traveling opens up a whole new world for you to see and explore. Traveling enriches the soul and mind. I loved traveling to the countries that my ancestors came from and walking down the same streets they did in the 1600s. I learned what some of them had done years ago when I mentioned their last name. When I went to the country my great-grandfather came from, I saw the farm he grew up on and met with one of my cousins and her children. The farm where he grew up had a brick home built in 1949, and the man who lived there was still related to my family. The church my grandfather went to was still there and held some family history. I am sure glad that I traveled to the countries where my great grandparents on both sides of my family had come from. I loved turning to the next page of my life.

The Key To A Long Life

You look forward to another day and think, “This the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” You long each day to turn another page in your book of life.

Adversity

Do You Show Courage During Adversity?

We try to have courage when we are going through difficult times. Sometimes, it is hard to raise yourself against adversity. Occasionally, it seems everything and everyone is against you. At these times, you must remember God and good friends will always lift you. If a tornado strikes your home twice, you may think what did I do to deserve this? You did nothing as it was an act of nature, and nature will always do its own thing into eternity.

When Misfortune Knocks On Your Door

You may have an excellent job that you love, and one day, the company manager comes in and says we are declaring bankruptcy. Do you think anyone will ever hire me at age 60? We must remember when one door closes, another one always opens. A company may want to employ you because you have a lot of experience in your field. Getting another job may take a while, but do not give up hope. Sometimes a lot of people you love Dearly seem to die about at the same time in your life. You feel defeated and alone and want to cry and shut down. It would be best if you remembered they do not want you to die along with them. They want you to live a long and rewarding life. If you are in a horrible accident and lose your vision or you are paralyzed, you wonder why me? Bad things happen to good people. We have to find a new direction without the life we had before, which is very hard. We must dig into our inner soul and rise again in all adversity or tragedy.

Difficulty

All of us have difficult times that we may not want to face. Try to get through the difficult times and remember brighter days are ahead for you. As we age, we have difficulty accomplishing tasks that used to be easy. We must realize that we are not as limber and spry as we used to be. Make sure you hire someone to help you and be very grateful to them for their help. Every one of us needs help now and then. Never walk by someone who needs help, as the next person who needs help maybe you. Respect your elders, for you will be old much sooner than you think.

Serious Misfortune

Misfortune can come your way quickly. Help those less fortunate than you, and thank God daily for your many blessings. Help people who have misfortune. If a child dies before their parents, the parents will need your support more than ever. If parents have a child who is battling cancer, they need support to help them cope with what they see their child going through, and they need your prayers for their child’s recovery. Families have lost children in wars for years, and when they see a military man come to their front door, they know it is to tell them that their son or daughter died in battle. Help everyone you encounter or know with serious misfortunes or difficult and trying times. God bless those who need your love and support to help them with adversity.

A Gift From God

Has God Ever Given You A Gift?

Your answer should be I have received many gifts from God. I have received many gifts from God over the years. It may be a simple gift or a complex gift. God has saved me from many illnesses over the years that could have killed me. God blessed me with excellent and loving parents. God brought people I needed into my life at the right time and place. When my father died, God made sure I had a friend that would make sure I saw the good things in the World, and that would bring happiness back into my life once again. I had prayed to God to get such a person into my life, and my prayers were answered. When I have been sick or ill, God has ensured there is always someone who will care for me and help me through it. I have been blessed with loving and caring friends.

Gifts You Found That Came From God

One day on the road, I found a cross bracelet that had been run over a few times but was still wearable. We all have experiences in life that leave a few marks or scars on us, just like the bracelet. Shortly before I found the cross bracelet, I had passed the lay minister’s online classes. I figured God was pleased with me. I wondered what my Mother would think about what I had done with my life. I found a bookmark that said daughter on it in a book I purchased used. The bookmark said I am very proud of what you have achieved in your life. I had a pet goat, and one day, I found a nice bale of alfalfa hay lying in the ditch that I put in my pickup for my pet goat. I also discovered a new bag of horse feed in the ditch one day, which my goat loved. I lost my pager once while I was mowing my lawn. I looked and looked for it and found it clipped to an evergreen branch like a Christmas decoration. I was sick with pneumonia, and two neighbors came over with food, and that was the best food I had ever eaten, in my opinion. My neighbor takes me to doctor appointments, which I appreciate very much. God brought a lovely blogging group into my life, bringing me joy.

Pets From God

God has brought many pets into my life that needed forever homes, and I have been blessed to have the pets come into my life. I have adopted many cats and dogs, including a Gerbil, guinea pigs, a fish, a bird, a hermit crab, and a chameleon. I also had a pet goat and three horses. I loved all of the pets, and they adored me. I fed, watered, and gave them Vet care when they were sick. Pets bring great joy and companionship into your life. They are our furry little children that God created.

Are You Valiant?

I will fight back if I feel threatened. Being courageous is not easy sometimes. It would be best to have a worthy cause worth fighting for before you feel brave enough to complete your mission. If your child is threatened, you will jump through a ring of fire to protect them. If you hear someone in your yard or trying to get into your home, you will call the sheriff and obtain anything that would save you by your side. If someone attempts to harm our pets in any way, we will put an end to it. Someone I knew once came into my house, but I did not realize they had come in, and I met them with a baseball bat at the bottom of my steps. Luckily, I looked before I used my bat.

Courageous At Trying New Things

I like to try various foods when I have traveled abroad, and none have disappointed me. I have purchased some of them from foreign food companies on the Internet. I had never tried zip-lining but jumped off the platform and loved it. Never be afraid to attempt new things, as they may be the highlight of your day.

Firefighters, Police Officers And More

People that put their lives on the line every day to save us. Firefighters will walk through a home that is on fire to protect the occupants of the house when the roof or floor could collapse on them and kill them. Police walk into all kinds of domestic assaults where people have guns and knives to save the lives of innocent victims. They are genuinely valiant.

Brave animals

A Mother mountain goat will keep kicking away at a predator that is trying to kill her offspring until the predator finally runs off or she is slain. Cats will claw away at a dog’s nose if the dog continues chasing the cat. I had a long-haired outdoor cat, part Siamese, and he had had enough of our Samoyed dog chasing him around the house. He lit into her nose, and she never pursued any cat again. One Mother cat kept running back into a burning house to save all of her kittens. She managed to get everyone out, but one kitten died from smoke inhalation. She was severely burned, but she survived after many skin grafts, and all of them found good forever home.

God Is Very Valiant

He protects us every day we are alive, even though we may not realize he did. God fills our lives with goodness, kindness, love, faith, hope, and more. You are never truly alone when you turn your thoughts toward serving God in any manner that presents itself. God forgives us for our sins if we truly repent. If we feel down about something, God gives us hope for a better tomorrow. Jesus had people put him down, but he rose above it as he told the believers about God and what God stands for and represents to the World. Some of his followers and non-followers betrayed him. Jesus laid down his life on the cross so we would be forgiven for our sins. There will never be anyone as brave as Jesus.

I Like To Take The Back Roads While Traveling

We took a back road in southern Iowa and discovered a quaint old grocery store. The store had an original wooden screen door with an old metal Wonder Bread sign attached to the middle of the door. We drove through what once was a small town, and the only business left was the old grocery store. It was a Sunday afternoon when I saw the store. I wish we had driven through the town on a weekday as I would have loved to visit that old grocery store inside. I have found old hardware, antiques, appliances, and furniture stores. I adored looking at the architecture of the buildings, visiting with the owners about the history of the buildings, and buying a few items now and then. I love old hardware stores as you can purchase old stock that is new and well-made.

Go In A Old Store If You See One

I grew up next to a small town with an old general store still operating there. It had a post office, food, tools, dishes, irons, paper, guns, and more. I liked the old floors in the building, the ceiling, and the wainscoting, and I loved the old cylinder gas pumps in front of the store. I loved to visit with the couple that owned the store. The woman who owned the store gave me a painted turtle that I named Skipper. Skipper lived in a shoebox in our house. He ate cottage cheese and lettuce. When he got big, we let him loose by the creek by our place, and my Father spotted him years later. He was huge and happy living off the land. I went to an old opera house once, and they told me they were packed every night from the 1920s through the 40s. The new owner was restoring it entirely as a bed and breakfast.

Don’t Always Follow The Leader Dance To The Beat Of Your Drum

If you know someone is in the wrong, do not follow them. Don’t you have to do anything wrong to get accepted into a group? You do not want to be in that group, for it will destroy you. The devil will try to lead you astray many times in your life. Take the right road for you, and do not let the devil control you or influence you or bad people or their evil ways. Stay connected to God through prayer and faith.

Small Town Stores That Offer Much More Than You Ever Dreamed Of

I found a fantastic clothing store in a small town, and every time I went to that town, I headed to the clothing store, an old soda fountain shop, and the hardware store. Old stores going out of business are an excellent way to find old stock items that are new at closeout pricing. I will always look for an old soda fountain shop and others with lots of history behind them. Visit with the owners, and you will learn a lot about the town’s history, as every town has a history and story to tell. Travel on the less traveled roads, and you will be amazed and thankful that you did.

Connected To God

We Stay Connected To God By Faith

Faith lets us see the sunshine in life on a dark and dreary day. I believe that God will help me in the trying times in my life. God will bring rain if it has not rained in a long time. When I doubted myself, I prayed to God to help me, and he always has. If you lose faith, you have lost part of your connection to God. Faith has saved my life many times with different illnesses and diseases I have had. Trust in the unknown is what it takes to succeed and move forward.

Hope, Joy, Peace And Love

God brings all of these into your life. We always hope things will improve in our lives, and they generally will if we follow God’s path. We receive joy on the birth of a new child, wedding, graduation, confirmation, and joy that God loves us. Peace should be a given, but at times, we are at war, and God finally does end the war most of the time. The Devil does not like peace. He wants you to argue and blame God and be mad. Never give the Devil an ounce of your time because he wants you to worship him, and then your soul will be lost forever. Love and God go hand in hand. God loves us so very much that he gave his only begotten son for us to die on the cross so that we may be forgiven for our sins and live in the house of the Lord forever. No one loves someone more than to lay down their life for them.

The Bible And Attending Or Listening To Church Services

Reading the Bible keeps us up on God’s teachings and reminds us we can use the Bible in today’s living. What applied to people years ago also applies to us today. People prayed for their loved ones to get well and helped each other when problems arose. Reading a daily devotion enables you to relate that devotion to your life today. I like to listen to my minister give sermons on Sunday. She makes the Bible come alive and tells us how we may interpret different sections of the Bible. One Sunday, she mentioned the wolf in comparison to the Devil, and I thought what a good analogy that was. Sing praises to God every day of your life and thank him for all the gifts he has provided for you. You may have the gift of good health, family, friends, housing, and so much more.

Nature

We can see God’s hand at work when we see the beautiful birds in the air or the sweet smell of flowers. God has a very scenic World for us to live in, filled with mountains, streams, rivers, and wonderful old architectural buildings. God has provided trees to make our homes out of. Trees are also used for paper products and to put oxygen in the air. God has provided a beautiful supply of animals; some are for eating, eggs, milk, and more. God has provided animals that are our pets that bring love and companionship into our lives. We have vegetable gardens, fruit trees, grapes, and various things we can eat if we tend to them.
