Do Not Follow The Herd

Just because your friends are doing something does not mean that you have to do it with them. If your friend wants, you to do something you know in your heart is not right do not do it and discourage them from doing it also. I got to know an older gentleman that was in that position, and he told me what he did about it. When he was in 7th grade a group of his friends wanted to knock over tombstones in the cemetery, He got to the cemetary an hour before they got there, and he hid back of a tombstone. When any classmate of his would next to a tombstone he would say in a ghostly voice get away from my tombstone and they took off running faster than a bolt of lightning never to return to that cemetery again. He fixed the problem in a creative way that worked. If you follow the herd, you will be trampled to death in the end. Never throw away your values of what you know is just and right and try to discourage others, if possible, form wrongdoing.

The Road Less Traveled Has A Lot Of Interesting Things To See

One time I had to take a detour on an old mountain road, and I kept climbing higher and higher with my car. At the mountain peak there was an old abandoned mine with tombstones dating back to 1749. I walked around and looked at the old tombstones for a while and I also examined the old mine from the outside. Once driving on a backroad in Iowa I discovered an old grocery store that looked like it came out of the thirties. The grocery store had an old wooden screen door and an old metal Wonder Bread sign on the door and an old cylinder type gas pump in front. I wish they would have been open to look at everything. I have attended church services at little old churches in the country and I enjoyed each service and looking at the wood in the church pews and how each church was built. One church had 10 by 10 rafters in the basement. I have had wonderful meals at the churches also. I was driving through Missouri and a sign said they were having an evening spaghetti supper, so I had my delicious supper there. I have gone to old hardware stores with wooden floors, and I have found a lot of useful items to buy such as tools, furniture, appliances, bowls and much more. Antique stores are fun to walk through and see things that take you back to your childhood memories. I like shopping in small towns as you can find most anything by taking a day trip through the small towns.

People That Do Not Follow God

They will generally follow the herd even though they know it is bad. Follow your faith and what you know is correct by Gods teachings. Follow the Ten Commandments as it is not called the ten suggestions. Stay on the road less traveled when the open Hi- Way leads to destruction of your soul.

Our Package

Do People Want To See The Inner You?

You may be beautiful on the outside. Maybe you dress to the 9’s. It is the inner beauty in you that matters. Beauty fads as we grow old. The beautiful soul never ages as it does well with helping others. If you don’t have a beautiful soul and are mean and hateful, others will not want to be around you as you have nothing to offer them. God wants us to have a beautiful soul that will go out of its way to help people that are down and out. We should lift others up and never put them down because we have not walked in their shoes. We cannot Judge people for maybe we have done worse than they have. It is easy to see flaws in another person, but you overlook your faults. Let your soul shine bright and do good that will please God and others. If your package comes across with ugly wrapping, no one will want to open it, for there will be nothing worth looking at.

How Do You Represent Yourself

Do you have a know-it-all attitude? Do you come across as intelligent and sassy? No one wants to be around someone who seems to know it. The only one that is all-knowing is God, our heavenly Father. Leave your sassy attitude at home and do not unleash it on other people; it is a complete turnoff. It is OK to be intelligent if you use it to help people and not throw your intelligence in their faces to humiliate them. Claim to be what you are. And no more or no less. Keep your promises and keep your word. Please stand up for others and advocate for them when they need one. I love cats, travel, visiting with friends, living in the country, and doing outdoor work. I write Inspirations with Luara as I love helping God spread his good works. I hope you come across with a kind, caring, compassionate, loving, hopeful, joyful, and peaceful personality. Be a good Shepheard in the flock that watches over his sheep, so none are lost.

Do I Like The Package That I Am?

If you do not like something about yourself, change it while you still have time. Life moves along very quickly, and it waits for no man. If you do not like what you have done in the past, stop doing it and give yourself a makeover with God’s help and help from friends, family, and your pastor. You will like a better form of yourself, and so will others. You attract the vibes that you put out for others to see. Do not hang around with the Vultures when you could fly with cardinals. Act politely, help people out, and give to charities and people in need. Help others as you would want to be helped. Work on the inner beauty of the package that God gave you.

God And Time

Time With God

When we attend church services, we spend time with God. Our minister reminds us of how often we have spent time with God this week by listening to his Sermons and comparing them to our lives. When we pray for forgiveness for our sins and pray for those that are sick to be healed by God, we spend valuable time with God. Take time to look at the sunrise and the sunset and realize that this is the day the Lord hath made and let us rejoice and be glad in it. I love looking at mountains, wildlife, and all that God has created for us to enjoy while living on earth. God has provided trees to make wood out of so that we may live in lovely homes that provide excellent shelter and warmth when we have a fireplace that burns the wood. God has given us a mind that can learn and excel in all we have learned from God, our parents, teachers, and others. Pray to God and thank him every day for all the wonderful blessings he has given you. Praise God with all of your heart and soul.

Ways You May Spend Time With God

If you help just one of God’s lost sheep to find its way back to the flock again, you have spent time with God. If someone is getting off the trail and getting lost in thorns and snake-infested woods, help get them back on the right track fast before the thorns cut them and the snake puts its venom in them. Let God guide you on what to say to someone being led astray so that the person leading them astray will lose control over them. If someone asks you for food, invite them to the restaurant to eat with you. If you see someone out in the cold, offer them a nice warm cup of coffee. If you have an extra coat to spare, give it to someone with none. Give to trusted charities that have been around for years that help people get back on their feet again, for you have no idea how they got into that position. Some young people have had to leave home because they were abused, which is why they live on the street. Many people live paycheck to paycheck, and when laid off, they are homeless and on the road. Help charities that give them a safe and secure place to live, for you will be helping one of God’s sheep find shelter from the storms of life.

Be A Loving And Faithful Servant

Love others as you would love yourself. Treat others as you would have them treat you. Keep your faith and help others knows that God is always there for them, even though their world may fall apart. No one has clear sailing all of the time. We will have times of laughter and joy and great sorrow and pain. Help those that seem to be losing their hope and faith and listen to them and help them through the difficult times in life. God bless you and yours.

Detour Ahead In Life

Turn Around In Thirty Feet

If you are headed down the wrong road in life, many opportunities will be ahead to change your direction in life. Sometimes when we drive, we will see a sign that says to turn around or detour ahead if a bridge has washed out or if gates have been closed on an interstate HI way due to weather conditions. We must evaluate our lives and see if we should change our direction. If you think the road you are going down in life will lead you to despair and regret, turn around in thirty feet quickly. One that never changes direction in their life will indeed be lost on the road of life.

Detour Ahead

We drive on detours because they route us around a bridge that is out or a severe accident ahead. If we ignore detour signs, we may harm ourselves or others. Our roads need lots of maintenance which causes a lot of detours in the warmer months. Our lives sometimes need a lot of care also. If we have a job that does not benefit anyone, we better find one that helps us and others. Sometimes it is necessary to return to college and earn a higher degree to get a job that will advance us and help others more. We will have health problems eventually that will put us in a tailspin of detours ahead. We must learn how to move forward with our health problems and ask God to help us on the detour we never wanted to drive down. When health throws you a curve ball, throw it back and move forward on your new road in life. The new route will be challenging, but with God’s help and the help of loved ones, you will b able to drive forward without many roadblocks.

Curves And Hills Ahead

We do not like to drive on too many curvy roads or go up too many hills while we drive. We must shift our car to a lower gear while we descend steep hills, or we may lose our brakes. You may see a bottomless ravine on mountain roads and pray that your car will not fail you now. God has many mountains for us to climb in our lives, and we should do it to the best of our ability. Some of the hills will be very steep, and we will stumble and fall, but we must get up and forge ahead with our lives. God will never ask more from us than what we can give him. No one ever said that life would be all bouquets and roses, as there are many thorns in life also. Get off any thorny path you might get on, as you will never shed yourself from the thorns otherwise. God is the way to eternal life and happiness, and all other roads will take you to a dead end.

Time Well Spent

Do not spend your time on pursuits that don’t matter or won’t improve your life or the life of others. Spend your time wisely, and do not waste your time when you could accomplish so much that might help others and you. If some of our Doctors had wasted their time playing computer games instead of finding cures for horrible diseases, many more of us would be dead or suffering. You only go around once in this World, so make your life stand for something others will discuss after you finish. President Lincoln spent his days reading and absorbing knowledge and became an excellent, fluent speaker and outstanding President. Spend time with people who enrich your life and make you want to achieve your goals, as they bring out the best in you. Wasting your time on trivial pursuits gains you nothing, and you receive nothing worthwhile. The time you waste is time you can never return to do what you should have done with your day. Time is a precious gift, so let God know that the time he gave us was used to help make the World a better place for us to be here.

God, Friends, And Family

God should be the center of your life, and what you do should be based on what God wants you to do, such as following The Ten Commandments. Keep the sabbath day and praise God for all the blessings he has given you. Let God always be your compass in life, and then you won’t be lost for long, as God will get you back on the right trail again. Never stop looking at God’s compass, for you will be lost forever in this World and the next. Good friends will keep you on the straight and narrow, and friends that are not good will lead you astray. Surround yourself with good, kind, caring, compassionate, loving, and uplifting friends. Treat your family right, and never let your family grow apart over estates. Many families fall entirely apart because of greed over who gets what. They seem to forget they are family and become like vultures devouring the dead. Family is essential, so try to mend fences if at all possible.

Material Possessions Do Not Matter

Do not put much stock in material possessions. Possessions are here today and gone tomorrow. We come into this World with nothing, and we leave this World with nothing. The older I get, the less I care about what I used to be interested in. I stopped collecting things that I used to gather in my younger years. Material possessions do not talk to you or bring the dead person who used to own them back to life; they don’t make you happy or add to your life. Collecting things is a waste of time in the scheme of life.

Work Projects

Some people make a big production out of a simple little work project. They keep calling workers for estimates when they should have hired someone by the third estimate. Life is too short to make a big production from a small project. The procrastinator keeps thinking about the project and never gets anything up and going with the work at hand. I like to take care of all my work projects as soon as possible to put them out of my mind. I work fast and efficiently and get the job done right the first time; that is what I expect from the people I hire. Some people work very slowly so they can pay their bills. I have had people say you should fix this, that, and the other, and I tell them if I thought it needed, I would fix it. I had a mechanic try to say to me my car needed all new brakes and that the transmission was leaking oil. I told him I would not have made it to his place if the news had been that bad. I told him my Father would look at it. My Father said there was nothing wrong with my car as I had thought. I went there for a simple oil change. He did not change my oil, and He was reported to the Better Business Bureau by someone, and his doors were locked forever. Honesty always pays if you want to remain in good standing with people. Some people must read all of the instructions before they assemble something. I put the items together without reading the instructions and have always had good luck. I would read the instructions if it were dangerous or flame-able.

Getting Ready For Something

I had seen girls spend hours combing their hair when I was in Junior High, and honestly, it did not look that much better than when they first started. People try to make elaborate plans for a fancy events that they know they will not be able to complete on schedule. It is best to simplify your goals to what is reasonable to achieve. If I have to be someplace early in the morning, I set my alarm clock and lay out the clothes I will wear the night before, and that way going to your early appt. will not be a big production. Complete all your most complex tasks in the morning and save the easy ones for later. That way, you will achieve your goals.

Life In General

Some people make a mountain out of a molehill. Sometimes a person will feel doomed just because one thing did not go according to plan. We must think of everything we did in our lives that has gone according to plan or made a better person for the experience. Please do not make a Big Production over little trivial things, as they will continue to happen until the day you die. Live your life fully with love, laughter, joy, hope, kindness, and peace, and do not sweat the small stuff. Be slow to anger and quick to forgive.

Visible And Invisible

Visible

If we can see a persons illness we know they are truly ill. Some people do everything that they can possibly do to get your attention and they are very visible to you and everyone else. We have lights on are cars so that they are visible to prevent us from being hit my another car hopefully. We have pole lights and security lights to keep us safe and to help us navigate our yards and roads in the night safely. Flashing lights on official cars, emergency vehicles and planes helps us notice them and keep out of there way in an emergency situation. We wear glasses to make our print on the page larger and easier for us to read, We need visibility in the World for us to get along safely and efficiently. Some children have flashing lights on their tennis shoes and adults wear orange clothing during the hunting season to let others know they are there and not to shot in their direction. Road workers also wear orange clothing so we will slow down and not hit them while they are making are roadways safe for us. We need to be at least somewhat visible to survive in this World.

Invisible

Some animals blend in with there surroundings so predators cannot see them and eat them. Some bugs are the color of the tree or foliage that they live on. Being able to blend in with your surroundings is a great survival skill that is used in the army and in hunting. Hunters sometimes wear camouflaged clothing while they are duck hunting or deer hunting in a tree stand. It is not good to be invisible if you are business person for you will not be in business for long. You must be visible on as many Social Media Platforms as you possibly can in order to have a thriving and flourishing business that people will flock to in groves. If you are a sniper you better blend in very well or you will become the target and your mission will fail.

God Is Invisible But We Still Have Faith

Even though we cannot see God we still have faith. I know that God is their for me in my darkest of hours. I pray to God without ceasing. I pray that God will protect my family, friends and my pets from illness, injuries and all kinds of mishaps that can happen in day to day living. God does not have to be visible for me to have complete faith in him. God makes himself visible to us by protecting us from what could be certain harm or death everyday that we our alive. God himself is not visible to us with our eyes but he is in how he protects us. He is visible to us with our eyes when we look at trees, mountains flowers and all of nature that God has made on earth for us to see the beauty or the masterpieces he has created. God is good, kind, compassionate, caring and loving in how he helps us on our journey in this World and he gets us ready for our final journey where all pain and suffering is gone forever.

When Sickness Hits Our Loved Ones

We become angry when someone we love is very sick, and we cannot help them except pray for God’s healing touch. It saddens one when there is no cure for an illness or a disease that a loved one gets. We ask God why he is letting this happen to our loved ones. Somedays, a person is completely covered and enveloped in sadness, and one wakes up crying. We think life is not fair, but no one is treated any differently as bad health and illness come to all of us eventually. Loss is hard for everyone. We develop long and lasting friendships and never want them to end. When our loved ones die, we feel like a boat drifting on the ocean, hitting every wave with great force and turbulence.

The Veil Cannot Be Lifted.

If we stay focused on the disease and not the person, sometimes all we see is the disease which is not fair to the person. One party said that is not my daughter anymore as all she saw was the disease. Please think of how bad her daughter felt when she said that right before her. Please think before you speak, and do not say hurtful things to sick or dying people, as they still have feelings. One party told a very ill person that they get the kind of disease they deserve right in church. That party missed the sermon’s point that day and what it means to attend church. They might as well stay home as they have not learned anything. You lift people in the church and pray to God to touch them with his healing power.

We Get Angry When We Are Told We Or A Loved One Will Not Get Better

We think why I and I say why not me as it happens to everyone eventually. We may be in denial and not talk about it or mention it. Death can come like a thief in the night. We may die suddenly of a heart attack or linger for years. Try to make the best of every day, be a good steward, and help spread God’s good works to the masses. We will be in Heaven someday with our family, friends, and pets, and the Veil of sorrow will be gone forever.

The Lord And Sadness

The Lord will destroy the Veil of sadness that is spread over everyone. When a loved one dies or becomes sick, a veil of sorrow embraces us. Somedays, we can hardly lift one foot in front of the other. On certain days if we keep swamped, the sadness will leave for a little while. Somedays, we can only sit down and rest as we feel empty and defeated inside. The Lord will comfort us on our darkest days if we pray for help. I have discovered that when I have prayed, the Lord has brought a person into my life, giving me hope to continue and live life to its fullest again. There is no more death and sadness in Heaven as the former has been defeated.

Scripture:

Isaiah 25:7 On that mountain, the Lord will destroy the Veil of sadness that covers all the nations. He will beat the gloom that is spread over everyone.

Sharing With Others

Sharing A Table With Others

It is nice to share a table with others and visit them. Eating a meal with others helps you relax and have a better appetite. You can learn many things by visiting with people on vacation or with your church family. You may know where you might want to plan your next vacation after visiting with people in your tour group while you eat with them. You may stay with someone locally and find out where a good repair shop is to work on your car. You might ask the person at the table across from you what their favorite food is at the restaurant you are eating at or where some of their favorite restaurants are in town. Sharing knowledge is how all of us learn. Christ broke bread with his disciples, and it means one body in Christ which is an unbreakable family bond, not just with each other but also with God.

Share The Fruits Of Your Labor With Those Less Fortunate

If you can donate money to worthy causes, you will be able to help many people in need of food, housing, clothing, and so much more. If you have extra food, donate it to a food bank or a place where people can get free food. Donate suitable used clothing to help people who cannot afford new clothing. Give new books to people who like to read, or put a little library stand in your neighborhood. If you are blessed, share your blessings with others. It is better to give than to receive. God loves a cheerful giver. The Lord has given you much, so share your bounty with others that need much.

Never Take The Last Morsel Of Food Or Anything

if you are invited to someone’s house, and there is just one cookie on the plate, do not take it or eat it as it belongs to your hostess. Never be greedy when eating. Make sure there is enough for everyone. Never ask if you can do something that someone has if you know that is all that they have. Never ask someone that may be dying soon if you can have something that you may admire in their home, for only a true Vulture would do that. Treat people how you want God to treat you, and then you cannot go wrong.

If You Have Two Of Something And Someone Ask You For One, Give It To Them Gladly

If you have two skillets and someone needs one give it to them. If you have several coats give some away. You do not need clutter in your home and maybe a treasure to another person. If someone has lost all they owned due to a fire or storm, help them with the extras you have in your home and give them a gift certificate to a clothing store, gas station, grocery store, etc. Help people out when and however you can, and remember you may be on the receiving end yourself one day. If you would not like to receive a specific item, do not give it to someone else. God helps all of us who ask for help by praying and praising him.

Helping Hands

Caring For The Sick

Helping the sick is helpful to them and you. A person feels good when they can help someone who needs their help when sick. By helping them, you can speed up their recovery time, and it lets them know that they are loved and cared about. Caring for the sick is not always easy, but it is gratifying when they feel better or you put a smile on their face today. All of us will want a compassionate and caring person on our side someday to help us when we can no longer care for ourselves. If you are not loving or compassionate, do not go into the line of nursing, as it will be a horrible injustice to the sick person. I have seen caregivers ignore the ill person or be rude or hateful to them; I have no place in my heart for a person like that. Everyone must remember our growing older with every passing day, and we must help each other through the ups and downs in life. A compassionate caregiver will help us have fewer down times and more up times.

Helping And Healing Hands

If someone needs groceries, offer to get them and cook a meal or take them out for lunch or an afternoon snack. It is nice to visit with people; they greatly appreciate your visit. Hearing another person’s calm and warming voice can be uplifting and healing. Having someone hold your hand while in the hospital has remarkable healing powers and lets you know you are loved and cared for deeply. People with many visitors while they are sick in the hospital tend to make faster recoveries than those who do not. I have known people that lived in a nursing home that only had one family member visit them for the whole year, and that was generally at Christmas time. All of us need helping and healing hands in our lives, and we hope that we can count on our family members and friends when we need them the most. Sometimes people think you are putting on when you are sick to get attention. I had an emergency room Doctor do that to me, and the next day, I was back again. My friend told him I was not myself, and I finally got help. Always have an advocate for you when you go to the hospital or doctor’s office if you cannot be your advocate anymore, as it may be a matter of life or death for you.

Gods Healing Hands

He listens to our prayers when we pray to God to be healed or made well again. God has made me well again, and I will praise God every day of my life for the many blessings he has given me. Praise be to God. Let all of us use our healing hands to help those that need caring, compassionate, and loving help to make their days shiny and bright with the love of people, friends, family, and God.
