People That Always Take And Never Give

Some people are always looking for a handout even though they have plenty. It is terrible when a wealthy person goes to a food bank and asks for food, as they are robbing a truly needy person who desperately needs the food to survive. One day, I was sitting in a place waiting, and two affluent women were bragging about how they had received free food and a dozen roses from a church. I thought they should be ashamed of themselves, but they thought they were cute and clever. Someday, they will get their just dues for what they did. One group of women was bragging about how they received free toys for their kids from three different charities that provide toys for children in need at Christmas time, if their families cannot afford them. One woman got a new bike from all three charities and probably resold the other two. People like that take away from impoverished families, and I do not know how they can sleep at night when they know they are robbing poor people.

It is Horrible When One Takes Advantage Of Someone

Never take advantage of anyone, tell the truth, and treat others with respect, kindness, and love. It is awful when people prey on older people and keep asking them for money. Older adults have worked very hard for their money over the years, and they need every penny they have to make ends meet. I have no time whatever for this kind of person, and they make me furious when I hear they bilked $200,000,00 from an elderly lady, and that was her entire savings, and now she is penniless and she cannot afford a nursing home, medicine, or groceries. Be cautious about who you trust and consider their track record with others, as it will reveal a great deal about them. On judgment day, these people will have a lot to answer for.

The Person That Always Wants Everything Their Way

If you do not have give and take in a marriage, it will not last long. One must be able to compromise so everyone is happy. Let others pick the restaurant they would like to eat at, and it can be your turn the next time. Some people always want a particular booth or table at church or a restaurant; if it is taken, move over one and don’t make a fuss about it. Not everything can be done on your schedule, as other people also have things on their agendas. Compromise is the key to a happy life for all concerned.

The User That Won’t Back Down

Be extremely careful of this type of user. They keep taking and taking until they leave nothing for you. They have broken your spirit and torn you apart. Never allow anyone to do that to you. Distance yourself from that person ASAP. If they call, don’t answer or report them to the police department. You are your best advocate for your protection. Don’t let anyone pull the wool over your eyes, as they are truly wolves in sheep’s clothing. God bless you and keep you safe from those who use and exploit others in the world.

Cats And Disagreements

Food Dishes

Some cats can get upset if another house cat eats out of their food dish. It is wise to clean your food dishes to prevent the spread of germs. After all, we would not want to eat food on a plate that was not washed. I prefer stainless steel or Pyrex bowls for my cats’ bowls. Plastic bowls harbor germs in the scratches that develop over time due to daily use, and the bacteria breed and form in these scratches. Have plenty of food dishes for your cats to avoid fights over food.

Water Bowls

Have at least two water bowls in your home, so if one gets tipped over, your cats will still have access to fresh water. Cats need to have fresh water every day, just as we do, for optimal health and kidney function. Cool water also helps cool them off on a hot day. I have stainless steel heated water bowls that you can plug in in the winter months, so your cats always have a supply of water. Water bowls should be heavy enough that your cat cannot easily tip them over. Most stainless steel ones are perfect.

Cats Toys

Cats can get very upset if another cat plays with their favorite toy. Most likely, a fight will occur until the other cat realizes that that particular toy is off-limits. Cats have a preference for specific colors of toys over others. Male cats tend to play with more male-oriented toys, while females prefer toys featuring pink balls, birds, or toy mice with light colors. There are, of course, always exceptions.

Cat Beds

Cat beds can sometimes be a significant problem. If another cat happens to sleep in their favorite cat bed, they may pee on it, so the other cat cannot use it, and then, of course, neither can they, but they figure they have won. Cats will also pee on cat towers, mostly when they are getting older, as it seems to be their way of telling you they want a new one. My cats know that if they try this, there will be no replacement coming for a long time, or they will get a cheaper version that is not as plush and comfortable as the old one was. A way to stop this is to put three garbage bags over the bed, tied tightly, and then place a towel over that.

Litter Boxes

Cats have a favorite litter box, and if you move it, they may stop using it, or if you buy a new one that is either deeper or smaller than the old one. Cats do not like changes, and they will often rebel against changes in their lives that they dislike. My cats love their automatic litter boxes. I placed catnip in them, and they have never stopped using them, not even for an instant. I purchased a stainless steel litter box, and my cats took to it immediately. Be patient and kind to your cats at all times, as we do not like changes in our daily routines either, and we all have disagreements over things from time to time. God bless our feline friends.

Passing The Baton

I Had A Dream About A Dear Friend That Died Last Night

We were gathered in church, and she called me up to the front to give a talk about passing the baton. All of her family was also in church. I didn’t know what to say right away, so two other women came forward and spoke to the congregation. My friend kept looking at me, and at that moment I knew what ot say. I said that I thought passing the baton in church was about carrying on a person’s legacy that you held dear. I said I would accept carrying her baton proudly. I said that I would be kind and considerate to all I meet on life’s Highway, as she always was. I had this dream as I was asking her why I was still here, and she said I was to carry her baton and then pass my baton to someone else someday. She told me I had a lot to offer to the world yet, and never give up, that God has a higher purpose for me.

I Was Watering My New Trees, And A Female Cardinal Was Singing Away Gleefully

I think the cardinal represents all the wonderful women in my life who have passed on. As I kept listening to the Cardinals’ song, it was as if she were singing my name. Listening to the cardinal brought joy and sadness. But the cardinal was telling me to carry on and that God would protect me 24/7 if I kept my faith that with God by my side, all things are possible. Listen for God in the sounds of nature and in quiet moments, and reflect on all that God has done for you.

The Baton Leads A Parade Or Cheers People On

My friend told me to cheer people on, as we all need someone to cheer us on in life. She said that I was kind, knowledgeable, and strong, and that I should use my qualities to help others. If you lead people in life, do it with respect and kindness, and never ask anyone to do something that you would not do yourself.

Adgility And The Baton

You have to be agile and have good timing to twirl your baton, and good coordination so that you do not drop it. The whole marching band is following you, so you must not skip a beat.

Pass Your Baton To Someone That Will Respect And Honor You

We pass our baton to family, friends, and people we meet when we help them and protect them from unforeseen events in their lives. We are by our friends in good times and in bad times, and by their side when they die, as we love them dearly, and we try to carry their baton proudly until we pass it to someone else. Don’t worry about things, as God is always with you. God has always sent the right people into my life at the exact time I needed them most. Who are you carrying a baton for?

What Do You Have Up On Your Closet Shelf?

You may have old photo albums, towels, rugs, clothing, sheets and pillows, hats, gloves, and much more. When we put things up on the very top shelf, we may forget what we have stored away there. If I haven’t used something for ten years or more, I discard it, as I’m unlikely to want to use it again.

Dishes, Bowls, and More On Your Kitchen Cupboard Shelves

I have gone through my kitchen cupboard shelves and eliminated many items that I never used, which were just in the way, as I had to clean them when I cleaned my kitchen cupboards. We all have a favorite set of dishes, mixing bowls, and glasses that we always want to use without fail. I sold items that I no longer used, or I gave them to a charity of my choice.

Pots And Pans In Kitchen Cupboards And More

We have favorite pans for frying, boiling, or sautéing foods. Sometimes, when a new type of skillet comes along, we prefer it to our old one. I like to help someone who has lost everything due to a fire or other disaster by donating any extra pans that I have.

Curio Cabinet

We can have too many curios where the shelves look too full. Get rid of any curios that you have become tired of, as that will show off your collection much better than a jammed pack curio cabinet. I love cat curios the most, so I kept all of those.

Books In Your Bookcase On The Shelves

If you have finished reading some of your books, give them away. All of us have favorite books that we can read over and over again without ever tiring of them. If you have a favorite old book, consider giving it to someone who will treasure it as much as you do. I hope you never leave your Bible on the bookcase shelf, as you should read passages from the Bible frequently. The Bible is a book that guides us through life, helping us to distinguish right from wrong and to be kind, compassionate, and considerate to all we meet on life’s journey. The Bible remains relevant to us today, as people continue to face the same problems and challenges in their lives that they have faced for many years.

Basement Sheeving

I have paint, work tools, cleaning compounds, lightbulbs, and small appliances on some of my basement shelves. I have a cupboard in my basement that contains paint, clothes, curtains, rugs, hats, work gloves, and an electric teapot. I have another cupboard that includes light bulbs, toasters, a coffee maker, and other miscellaneous items. We all need places to store things, but it’s essential to avoid storing too much, as this can lead to clutter and disorganization. Clean your sleeves and ensure that the things that you treasure reach the people you want to share them with, or you keep them. Declutter often, as you will have a tidier home, and it will be much easier to keep clean.

Idle Time

Reading

I love to read history books, especially ones about World War 2. Reading is terrific in idle time, as you can delve into a good book and learn a lot of interesting historical, scientific, and other things that will add to your array of knowledge. Every day, we should strive to learn something new. Reading a good book or magazine article can be a relaxing way to end a day when you are tired.

Exercise

I love to walk and pick up sticks that I see lying in the yard, as well as anything that may have blown in, and dispose of them properly. Riding a bike is an excellent form of exercise, and it is very relaxing as the wind blows through your hair. I notice birds and other animals while I ride my bike. Walking is one of the best exercises for your heart, mental well-being, and overall health.

Sitting On Your Deck

It is fun to sit on your deck and visit with friends while enjoying refreshments or using your barbecue grill. You can also sit in the shade on your deck, read a book, or work outdoors on your computer. I love the great outdoors, and having a deck is perfect for me because I can sit up high and have a bird’s-eye view of what is happening. I saw a fox run by and a deer, and I watched the birds that came up to our bird feeders. I have witnessed blue jays, woodpeckers, house finches, goldfinches, brown thrashers, bluebirds, cardinals, red-winged blackbirds, scarlet tanagers, and the more common birds at our bird feeders.

Vacations

I love to take a vacation now and then, as you will come home with a lifetime of precious memories that no one can take away. I love learning about the history of each country and admiring its architecture. I love Switzerland and enjoy admiring its beautiful mountains. Germany, England, Amsterdam, Czechoslovakia, and Switzerland were my favorite countries to see and visit. Try the signature food dishes in each country, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the excellent taste and seasonings. If you collect something small, taking home a souvenir from each country is a fantastic way to remember the store, the country, and the good time you had finding your collectible. Take plenty of pictures while you travel, as they are fun to look back on over the years. I love Colorado, Wyoming, Illinois, Ohio, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Virginia in the USA. I have always enjoyed traveling in Canada and shopping in their stores.

Volunteer

Volunteering at something you love can be very relaxing and rewarding. I enjoy visiting with people in Assisted Living Units or Nursing Homes. You can volunteer at hospitals, food banks, community kitchens, and mission work wherever needed.

Eating Out Or Going Places With Friends

Spending a quality day with friends or going on a trip with them is very relaxing and rewarding. I love eating at small family-owned restaurants, exploring the mom-and-pop stores, and finding something good to take home. You may discover appliances, shoes, clothes, furniture, and more that you’d like to purchase. Ensure you drive a vehicle with ample cargo space to haul your find-of-the-day home.

Things That Upset Cats

Moving Their Litterbox Or A Change In Cat Litter

I moved one of my cats’ litter boxes the other day because I had new floor tile installed. My cat did not like that, so she used the drain to do her business. I’m hoping that when the litter box gets put back in that room again, she will stop doing that. Cats have a favorite litter box, and if you replace it with a new one, they may not use the new one. It is a good idea to stick with the same size litter box, or add some catnip, which I did once, and all of my cats liked that litter box afterward. If you switch kitty litter, do it slowly. Gradually add a bit of the new litter to your old brand, and make the change over time. Everything should be fine then. Leave a litter box with your old brand of cat litter for your cat, just in case he doesn’t accept the change in kitty litter. Cats do not like perfumed cat litterers of any type. None of my 14 cats will have anything to do with perfumed cat litters.

A New Member To The Family Or A New House Guest

Cats will often run and hide from strangers, and if they leave any of their clothing out, they might use it as a makeshift litter box. Cats do not like a change in their routine whatsoever. A new family member of the human or feline world may not meet their approval, so they will rebel in some shape or form to let you know what they think of the new family member. Your cat may pee on his toys, so the new cat will not play with them. I have seen cats pee on a new cat bed if they think the new cat is using it. One cat kept urinating on a man’s girlfriend’s clothes because she disliked her. She perceived the woman taking her place in the household, and she would have none of that.

New Carpet, Remodeling, New Furniture And Appliances, And More

Cats do not like the smell of carpet glue or the scent of the new carpet after a while; they do get used to it. Remodeling truly gets them going as they see their home being torn apart and things being moved out of the way, with all kinds of workers coming and going. When you buy a new couch, place some of your old couch pillows on the new couch, and your cat will accept the change much better. Mt cats were upset when my old refrigerator left the house, and the new one entered. I think they were worried that the previous canned cat food was left in the old refrigerator. Never get rid of an absolute favorite cat toy that your cat takes with them everywhere, even if it is tattered and torn. You can try to replace it with one just like it, but some cats prefer their favorite old toy, just as kids do. Be patient with your cat, as none of us likes a lot of change in our everyday routines.

Too Much On Your Agenda

Do You Try To Do Too Much In One Day?

I know that I do. I am not happy at the end of the day if I haven’t completed everything on my to-do list for the day. I am delighted if I have accomplished as much as possible in my work day. I tend to get bored if I am not doing something constructive with my time. I do take breaks as I know my limitations. Burning the candles at both ends can be detrimental if you don’t take time to stop and smell the roses now and then. Don’t feel bad if you take a day to be alone, relax, and do your own thing that brings you happiness and contentment. Do the most demanding jobs first thing in the morning and save the easiest job for the end of your day. Put your heart into your work so you can be proud of what you have accomplished with your day. A shoddy job is not worth doing, and no one will like it, including you, if you take any pride in what others have to say about your work and your work ethic. Make your work shine and have others say good things about it for many years. Excellent craftsmanship stands out and is appreciated by all. If you feel exhausted, stop and rest, and after you feel refreshed, you can finish your work. One can not run a jackhammer all day without breaks.

Back-to-Back Appointments

If you have back-to-back appointments, you’d better review your client’s wishes before you meet with them. Do not have a client come in and assume that you remember what they want, as their wants might have changed. Never makes changes without everyone signing an agreement, as the spoken word means nothing in a court of law. Some Doctors see a patient every 15 minutes, and they cannot really give that person the time they need if they have a complex condition. Hairdressers see fewer people in one day than a Doctor does. If you feel that not enough time has been spent with you, speak up and tell them you want them to explain more things to you.

Never Have Too Much On Your Agenda That You Do Not Spend Time Wth God

Spending time with God each day is the most important thing on your agenda for the day. All of us are nothing without God. God gave us life, he protects us 24/7, he grants us love, joy, peace, and hope. Read a portion of your Bible, read a devotion, pray to God, and help spread the good word to all. Church is vital; if you cannot make it in person, listen to an online service. It is good when we are reminded of the scriptures in the Bible and how they pertain to how we should live and act in the world. God’s word awakens our souls and fills our hearts with love and joy. Pray without ceasing. Praise God’s name.

Knowing How To Repair Items Will Help You Immensely

If you are mechanically minded, an auto mechanic will not be able to take advantage of you or pull the wool over your eyes. A mechanic years ago told me my car was leaking transmission fluid, and he would have to fix it right away. I said I think not, as he had poured oil on the transmission to make it appear that it had a significant leak. I had one mechanic tell me that my car needed a new battery, and I had just put a new one in a week ago. I said, ” Don’t they last longer than one week he knew he had met his match. I was told by a plumber that one of my tenants had worn out a new faucet in just one week, and he had repaired it. I took it apart, and he had not put any new parts in it. I told him that I had taken the faucet apart, and he had not repaired it whatsoever. Needless to say, I hired a different plumber after that. Roofing, I had been watching my roofer, and he was hardly using any nails to attach the shingles to the roof of the house. I told him how it was to be done, and he was very shocked indeed that I knew how to roof. Be informed about things before you let someone take advantage of you, so to speak. Remember the old saying, “Ignorance is no excuse.”

It Pays To be A Good Business Person

After dealing with various types of people over the years, you will become wise beyond your years. Many people will take advantage of how far or how much they can get away with. Lay down the law right away and do not back down, or they will take it as a sign of weakness and try to back you into a corner time after time. Have all legal agreements in writing, as word of mouth means nothing in a court of law. When writing a contract with someone, ensure that you include all necessary details, as leaving any out can result in missing what you intended. When buying a home, request that it be inspected before you sign on the dotted line, especially if it has been vacant for a while, as it may have major plumbing issues. When buying a home, contact the local police department and inquire about the neighborhood where the house is located. I had to call three different cement companies simultaneously to get a decent price. It pays to know approximately what repairs should cost, so you know what to expect in terms of payment. Shop around and never pay the first price that someone quotes you. Be a savvy and knowledgeable consumer, as the shysters do not like that. If a deal seems too good to be true, it generally is. Never give someone a loan, as they are unlikely to repay you, and good friendships have been damaged or even dissolved because of unpaid loans. Be a savvy, intelligent, well-informed consumer.

A Horrible Day

No day is a horrible day, as all days have some ray of sunshine in them. Perhaps you received a speeding ticket because you were speeding to avoid being late for work. The ticket was your fault, as you should have gotten up earlier so you would not have been speeding. We cause much of our disappointment over things by overthinking and rehashing them. Do not let the old experiences in your life overshadow the wonderful experiences that you could have if you could just let go of the past and live in the present. A horrible day is an imperfect expression, as any day can have some sunshine in it if you pull up the shades on your current situation in life.

The Complainer

The complainer has problems with everything. If they order food, it is not cooked properly or is too cold. Some people enjoy hearing themselves complain about everything, even the most mundane details. When you are driving, the complainer will say Why didn’t you take that shortcut? ” or Why did you take the scenic route? Some people will buy something in a store and complain about it to see if they can get a discount, even when nothing is wrong. A store soon catches on to this type of person. Stop being a whining complainer, as that gets old quickly. If you are a complainer, remember you can attract more bees with honey than with vinegar.

A Day Is What You Make It

If you start your day with a good attitude, it will be fantastic and gratifying. If you think, “I cannot make it through this day, and nothing is going to work out,” you will be absolutely right. As the old saying goes, if you are given sour grapes, make wine. I think this is the day that the Lord has made, and let us rejoice and be glad in it. The Bible is a good book to read for guidance on how to have remarkable and memorable days. Get out with people and cheer each other up. Compliment them on their achievements in life, and don’t be jealous, for you have no idea what it took for them to achieve their dreams. It takes a lot of hard work and commitment to achieve our dreams.

Life Will Have Ups And Downs

Not everything in life is smooth sailing, as we will encounter many high waves to navigate. Pray to God for help with your day and ask God to give you the strength you need to accomplish your day’s goals. Faith will take you very far in life; without faith, you will be adrift on the ocean for a long time. Remember the joyous days and try to help others have joyous days. Call people, visit with them face-to-face, take them out to lunch, send a card, and cheer them on in life. You are never defeated if you keep trying; eventually, you will reach the top of your mountain. Stay motivated and remain connected to God and the people in your life.

Why Do Cats Bite?

Tomcats will give you a love bite to show their affection toward you. If a cat is scared or timid, it will bite you as if to say Leave me alone If you want to pick me up later, I might be open to it, but not now. If you are not gentle with your cat or you did not pick him up correctly, he will bite quickly to let you know that he disapproves of your methods. Your cat may bite you by accident if you are feeding him his favorite treat on your finger or if you have the treat in your hand. A cat that is in pain will bite you if you try to pick them up. If you find an injured cat, try to wrap a blanket or towel around it to avoid being bitten, and if you have leather gloves, put those on.

Why Does My Cat Try To Get My Attention

If a storm is brewing, your cat may sit and look up at the heavens as if to warn you that a storm is coming. My three house cats once got on my bed and woke me up, looked up toward the heavens, and made loud and eerie guttural sounds, so I went to my basement with them. There were tornadoes in my general area. Never ignore what your cat may be trying to tell you on a stormy night. My cat Kohl once warned me that a man was walking down my road at 9 pm, and he growled loudly as he looked out of the window at the man. People have been woken up by their cat in a fire, or if the cat smells a gas leak, and cats have been known to lie in the area where some people have had cancer before they were even diagnosed. When you’re talking on the phone, your cat is jealous because he is not getting your full attention, and they may knock down things or make a horrible racket as you are trying to carry on a conversation. Cats seem to know instinctively if you are in pain, and they will lie down next to the area where you have the pain. Pay attention to your cat if he wakes you or makes a loud noise, as he may save your life.

Cats And Their Human Caregivers

Cats form a special bond with us, and they want to protect us and make us happy. Cats will put their scent on you to show other cats that you are already taken as a cat caregiver, and they had better look elsewhere. One cat was trained to dial 911, but his owner thought his cat might not do that when the time came, but his cat did, and the cat saved his life as he had fallen and had heart trouble. Never underestimate your cat’s abilities. One cat was able to learn and understand 50 words. Cats are family, as we have a special bond with them that lasts forever, and then we look forward to seeing them again in heaven. God bless our Dear feline friends with a happy and healthy life.
