Home Memories

Leviticus 27: 14

And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the Lord, the priest shall estimate it, whether good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand.

Proverbs 24 : 3 – 4

Through wisdom is a house built, and by understanding, it is established,

And the chambers shall be filled with all precious and pleasant riches by knowledge.

The old saying says home is where the heart is. My home sanctify’s me as I love every nook and cranny in my house. I have so many pleasant memories in my place. My Grandparents built the place I have lived in almost my entire life. I have lived on my building site my whole life. I love walking around the yard, gardening, lawn mowing, and much more. I used to follow my Grandfather around the farm, and later on, I followed my Father around the farm and learned how to repair many items by observing my Father at work.

I have fond memories of eating breakfast and having coffee with my Grandparents. My Grandfather kept wintergreen mints in the cupboard and always gave me one to eat when I visited. I had a toy box at my grandparents’ house and still have the plastic doll I used to play with. I would generally eat Cheerios for breakfast at Grandpa and Grandma’s house.

I remember the Christmas dinners that we used to have and all of the wonderful family gatherings that we used to have at our home. A home is a place of a happy, wonderful life and long-lasting memories. A house has laughter, love, joy, peace, and hope from all the people who have enriched your life by coming into your home and sharing their life with you.

Home is where you have family time and talk about the day’s activities at the end of the day. You have love and concern for each other’s needs. You make each other smile in a happy home, and all that enter your home are glad they came. Peace and happiness may fill your home for all of your days.

Life Is About Serving People And Lifting Them Up

Life Is About Serving People And Lifting Them Up

Visit people often and help them and put a smile on their faces. Hold doors open for people and lavish them with a firm handshake. Giving people a gift they were not expecting is so rewarding.

Do something special for your friends. Call up your friend and invite them on the spur of the moment to go for a drive or out to eat. You will make your friend happy, and you will be satisfied, also. Spend quality time with your friends, and don’t miss any time together.

Wesley Church

I love visiting with people in the rest home or assisted living. The people I see enrich my soul with beautiful lessons on what life is all about. We can learn a lot from our elders and other people we visit; we all have our ups and downs in life. How we handle them makes all the difference in the World and how our life turns out.

Do not dwell or live in the past; you can not change its outcome. Make new and fond memories in others’ lives and your own. Look at things in perspective and never lose your focus on what is truly important in life. We should serve God, the community, family, friends, and strangers. A friend in need is a friend indeed, as the old saying goes.

An illness in my life was a blessing in disguise. It has made me a more outgoing and caring person. I have become a lay minister in my church. I see things differently than I used to. I enjoy visiting with people and having them tell me their life stories. There is always someone in worse shape than you, no matter your illness or situation.

My goal is to help brighten or enrich people’s lives and put a smile on someone’s face every day. I wanted to be kind, compassionate, caring,g and an excellent listener, learn something new daily, and share my knowledge with others.

God bless you every day, and never forget that you can become a better and more outstanding you that will make God and your family proud of the person you are today.

What Grade Would You Give Yourself In Life ?

What Grade Would You Give Yourself In Life ?

Have you done everything or accomplished everything you had to do or wanted to get done? Have you worked at your goals and left the world in a better place regarding what you have done with your life? We all have thoughts to ponder as we try to figure out the correct path to follow in our life. With God’ss help and love, we can accomplish most of our goals.

Are you working on the mission that God has set for you? Let God be your compass and your guide on your path in life. Be kind, caring, compassionate, loving, and very caring with other people. Always put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Never judge someone as you have no idea what they have gone through in their lifetime.

20150830_072601

Live day to its full potential, and do not waste any days because we all have finite days on earth and a limited time frame to accomplish our purpose or mission on earth. Enjoy, savor, cherish, and spend quality time with family and friends. Do not make life more complicated than it has to be, and don’t sweat the small stuff. There will be hiccups in the whole scheme of life, but don’t let them stop you from reaching your finish line.

How do we begin to grade ourselves in life? Have we done good things, been kind and caring, and helped spread God’s good works? If you can answer yes, you are heading toward a high grade in life.

Life is wonderless and glorious and a constant journey to learning and understanding, and bettering ourselves and each other daily. Follow the path God has set for you, and you will be filled with the grace of God.

Embrace Your Illness Do Not Let It Empower You

Embrace Your Illness Do Not Let It Empower You

Illness comes to knock on all of our doors eventually. Illness does not care if your door is locked. It just bursts at the moment. You do not expect it. Be ready for disease in your life and embrace it. You take control of your illness to the best of your ability. Find things you like to do, travel, and get out, as that will occupy your mind and give you new things to think about.

boat-house

Never sit around and concentrate on the illness that you have, as that is when it will empower you. Try to get out and live your life the best you can with your disease, and then you will assign your condition. Never think of poor me; we all have health battles to empower.

Find new hobbies and things to do when you cannot possibly do everything you used to do. Read books, enjoy the great outdoors, write, surround yourself with friends, and let God guide you. Find a cause to support and help others who are fighting health battles.

20150831_072830

Only you can take control of your life. If you tell yourself you cannot win, you won’t. Make positive changes in the World every day and embrace your illness as you may find a new you that is also an improved you. You may find yourself to be more outgoing or more creative.

God is always by your side, even when you think he is not. God does not want any of his children to suffer. God will help you embrace your illness if you let him. Please go out and help others embrace their illness and not let them get empowered by it. God Bless You and strengthen you every day.

Home and Holidays

Home and Holidays

A home is a place where laughter abounds around every corner. Memories are found in every nook and crevice of your home. We always come home for celebrations and funerals. Home is where the heart is. There is no place like home, as the old saying goes.

Thanksgiving Day and What We are Thankful For

We gather around the table on Thanksgiving day, reflecting on all the people who have made Thanksgiving day a genuinely thankful one. We are grateful for our families, friends, good health, a good job, and much more. God has blessed us with a bountiful harvest of family, friends, good food, and an everlasting tie to God that cannot be broken. Remember to thank the people you love in your life very often.

We are thankful that our souls will live on after we have died. We will have eternal life and dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Jesus died on the cross for us to have eternal life. We should thank Jesus for his incredible sacrifice for us every day. A man has no greater love than to lay down his life for another. John 15: 13.

Christmas With Friends and Family

We come home at Christmas time to be with our family and awesome friends; we reflect on all the people that have come and gone in our home throughout the years. We remember past Christmases as a child and what a joy it was to find that perfect Christmas present under the tree waiting for us to unwrap it and have fond memories of it yet today.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

A home changes throughout the years as people die and babies are born. A new family moves into your old home place to make fond memories of their own. They remodel your home to meet their current needs at the time. There is a constant circle in the chain of life. Life cannot go on without changes in it. We must adapt to continuous change in our life daily to survive in this World.

We all come home to die or be buried in our hometown. We all want to be where everybody knows us and loves us for who we are. I  love my home, family, friends, pets, and God, my creator.

Fall

Fall

Fall is a time for us to harvest the fruits of our labor. I love eating frozen garden vegetables in the long cold winter months ahead. Fall is when we can plan a garden for next year and see if we want to try out any new varieties of garden vegetables.

I love to make applesauce from my apple trees. I do not add sugar to my applesauce as it is sweet enough from the plain apples used in making it. Applesauce is a beautiful winter snack. I used to freeze many apple pies that I would eat, give away, or take to gatherings.

20150917_165607

I love looking at the fantastic fall foliage in the fall. The trees have vivid and avid colored leaves extending from their branches, one of God’s fabulous creations. I love the fall temperatures, which are neither hot nor cold. I love to walk outdoors and hear the leaves crunch under my feet. I like to pick up pretty fall leaves and press them in a book between wax paper.

Fall lets the soil rest until next spring. The soil gains nutrients through the stubble left behind after the fall harvest, making for rich spring soil.

pumpkin

It is fun to watch the squirrels gathering up walnuts for the cold winter months ahead. They bury them in the ground or hide them in a building, woodpile, car, house, or other places. My cats start getting a nice thick coat of fur on their bodies to give them extra insulation in the winter months ahead.

We put the finishing touches on all of our outdoor projects. We check the anti-freeze in our cars, caulk, sweep out the garage, check the tread on our tires, till up our garden, trim off old foliage, and do many other things to prepare for the long winter ahead.

I take my convertible out for a few more drives before it gets too cold. We check our furnace and foundation for leaks and add insulation to our attic if necessary.

I hope you and your family have an excellent fall driving around, looking at fall foliage, going to orchards, etc. I love to take short little trips in the fall as there is so much to see and do.

Wisdom

Wisdom

Job 11: 6

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

Job 11: 12

For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass’s colt.

Job 38: 2

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

With age comes knowledge and wisdom. A just man will use his knowledge correctly for the benefit of all humanity. If you use your understanding to harm people, you have learned nothing. Wisdom comes from books and surrounding yourself with the right people to lead you down the right path. Be careful of the company you keep because you ultimately become the company you keep.

With wisdom comes a deeper understanding of all things. You develop a clearer picture of things in your life that are truly important and forget about the little trivial things. Surround yourself with people who will increase your wisdom and knowledge, and you can achieve great things.

20170607_194844

Wisdom can take a long time to come to some people. The wise man never lets the grass grow under his feet. God is very wise; he knows us better than we know ourselves. God knows our thoughts and needs and what we need in our lives, and we can achieve almost anything with God’ss knowledge and wisdom, helping every day of our lives.

Every day we live on Earth is a day to gain more knowledge and pass on our ability to future generations. Wisdom is earned and learned from the process of everyday living and perfecting what we have learned to help people live longer and to be able to accomplish their up-most achievements that will benefit all of humanity for many years to come.

Be a lifelong learner and study the Bible daily, and you will indeed be a wise person to s rule to do this regularly in any form.

Boastful or Jealous Love Is Not Judgmental

Love Is Not Judgmental, Boastful Or Jealous

If you constantly judge your friend’s mood or actions, you do not love them unconditionally. If you have to fit into a specific little mold the other person wants you to fit into, your friendship will not last long.

If you are married and your husband will not let you keep your old female friends, he controls you and does not allow him to make his friend list for you. If you are a man and can never get together with your old buddies, your wife controls you. If you need to control someone or something that is not love, it is a power trip over another person at their expense. If a person is jealous of your old friends from the past, they don’t love you. They want to control you constantly, and life is too short to have conditions put on friendships.

I think of my friends. Equally, nobody is any better or any worse than another friend. I will not pick one friend over another to please someone. Good friends are hard to come by. Please treat them with the utmost respect and dignity possible.

Do not be boastful or brag about things. People that love you know the real you. Do not make yourself seem more significant than you are in life. Be honest and open in your relationships with others in your life. Being fair with yourself and others is one thing that will take you very far in life.

Be kind, gentle, caring, and giving with your friends. Be an anchor for your friends. Be a lighthouse that will light the way for your friends when the storms of life enter their life. Be a beacon that always leads your friends back to the shore, which is on solid ground. Remember, God is always by your side in life’s storms and turmoilsGod blesses all of you daily with his constant and undying love for all of us in this World and Beyond.

The Positive Power Of The North Iowa Bloggers Within Me

The Positive Power Of The North Iowa Bloggers Within Me

I was bullied and mistreated by my kindergarten class. My Kindergarten teacher treated me poorly and showed me no respect whatsoever. I almost died of Histoplasmosis in Kindergarten, and I was sickly and made an easy target for others to pick on. The little girls in my kindergarten class were unrelenting in how poorly they treated me. My teacher and my classmates would laugh at me when  I said something.

My female classmates laughed at and mistreated me until I entered fifth grade. My fifth-grade teacher would not tolerate that behavior in her classroom. She was the first female figure that I hadn’t known in my life that stood up for me. I was still timid and would not say much, fearing being made fun of.

It took me a long time to trust other girls or women. I considered what was in it for them and if they liked me. I remained very reserved most of my life until I joined The North Iowa Bloggers.

20170607_194844

My neighbor and friend started The North Iowa Bloggers and invited me to join one of her meetings. Our Dear blogger friend Amy Hild always welcomed me into the room with her kind and great smile and mannerisms. Amy made me want to attend the meetings as I knew she would be there with her kind ways radiating from her. I soon realized that women could be kind and caring without expecting something in return.

red lighthouse

When I was sick, The North Iowa Bloggers came to see me in the hospital, sent flowers and cards, and prayed for me. They are a wonderful caring, loving, and supportive group of women and men that truly and genuinely care about people.

I talk and visit with people freely and easily now. The bloggers have opened up a new and better chapter in my life. It used to be easier for me to write about things, but now I can visit freely and easily without worrying about being judged unfairly. Amy told me never to stop writing, and I never will stop. Thank You, North Iowa Bloggers, for making me into the person I always wanted to be. There is always time to make a change in your life if you let people in with like values and with God by your side.

Are You A Puppet On A String ?

Are You A Puppet On A String ?

Do you have a puppet master that controls every move in your life? If your answer is yes, do something about it right away. Take charge of your life, and never let anyone or anything make you do something you do not want to do.

If someone does not like the person you are and the person you feel comfortable being, you do not need to conform to their standards as they are not a true friend anyway. A manipulator feels powerful when you bow down to their every command. Do not let people manipulate you.

20150830_072601

You be your boss, take command of your life, and do not let anyone treat you like a puppet on a string. Life is too short of having to make someone like you if you have to conform to their low standards. If you can never do anything right to please a person you bend over backward for, quit trying to please them and please yourself by taking total command of your own life.

Some people feel like a King on a throne when they have power and authority over another person. No one is any better or more powerful than yourself. Be your cheerleader in your life and always look forward and never back. The past is the past, and you cannot change its outcome, so keep moving forward.

Sundogs

You pull your strings in your life and move forward at your own pace, not someone else’s. Accomplish much in your life and always strive to accomplish more. Be the best that you can be and make future generations proud of you. Throw your puppet master to the curve, as he only harms you from being the best you can be and a good steward.
