Being Left Handed In A Right Handed World

Being Left Handed In A Right Handed World

When I first went to school, finding a left-handed pair of scissors was challenging. School desks were made for right-handed people also. The right-handed students had a nice place to rest their elbows on the desk, but I did not have that luxury.

My Grandfather taught me how to tie my shoes since he was left-handed. We loop our shoelaces the opposite way around. He also taught me how to use a knife and peel vegetables.

When I made pottery in High School, they had yet old-fashioned kick wheels. Left-handed students can easily use kick wheels as we kick the wheel in the opposite direction. When I made pottery in college, we had only two kick wheels; the others had the wrong motors. An older gentleman told me they had to mount the motor upside down, and they would work perfectly for those of us who were left-handed. We never had a motorized pottery wheel for the left-handed students.

In sports, left-handed people needleft-handedd golf clubs and catchers mitts,t, and hold the baseball bat differently.

I tried to play the guitar in school, but it did not go well since it was right-handed. I found out years later that they now make a left-handed guitar. The strings have to be mounted the opposite way around for us that are left-handed.

Left-handed mechanics also have a challenge as cars are made to be easily repaired by right-handed people, and an absolute nightmare for left-handed mechanics to work on.

Carpentry tools are made backward for left-handed carpenters. I was lucky enough to find a left-handed circular saw, which was an excellent find for me. Weed whackers throw the grass all over your pant legs, and chainsaws throw the wood chips all over your body when left-handed.

I purchased a left-handed watch that I love dearly. Left-handed people wear their eyes on their right wrists. Some vacuum cleaners are off balance because of how the bag or motor is mounted on them, making it very hard to vacuum with being left-handed.

I have learned over the years how to adapt to being left-handed in a right-handed world.

Get It In Writing

Get It In Writing

You have to get contracts and agreements in writing today, as the old-fashioned handshake is a thing of the past.

I purchased an SUV at one time that was supposed to be AWD and had a six-cylinder engine. The SUV was a four-cylinder and FWD. Thank goodness I had a witness with me when I purchased the vehicle. I had the sales manager sign a piece of paper saying they would make things right with me. The other people in the Co. did not know I had a signed letter from the sales manager and refused to do anything. When I faxed them a copy of the signed letter, they made things right after a two-month wait. I ended up with a one-year newer AWD drive SUV, but I still got the four-cylinder engine. You do not have a leg to stand on without a witness or something in writing.

My friends got a different vehicle color than the one they purchased. I have a friend that bought an air conditioner for his store, but they did not hook it up to electricity. They told him he had to have his electrician hook it up. Anyone would think they would hook up an air conditioner when you purchased one. Why would you buy an air conditioner to look at it daily in the hot sweltering heat?

I was getting a loan at a bank one day and trying to read over the fine print. The banker said that was unimportant, so I started to cross that part of the contract off, and ly, suddenly, it became essential. Be very proactive in all of your purchases. All others must sign a written agreement or contract with God, We Trust.

Take The Road Less Traveled

Take The Road Less Traveled

Change can be a terrifying thing in our lives. We get used to and feel very comfortable with our routines day after day. Sometimes God is calling us to make a significant change in our lives, and we are too busy to hear God calling us. Stop and examine your life now and ask yourself, can I be a more outstanding person in society?

Do not make fun of people just because other people are doing so. Take the road less traveled and remembered you could be the one they are making fun of. Do not walk with the bullies in life. Walk in the opposite direction. Do not let other people turn you into a pack of wolves waiting to devour someone. Defend the person the bullies are picking on, as this is a true example of one of God’s good stewards.

Listen when God calls upon you to do something that will better yourself and help others immensely. God never asks more from you than what you can deliver. Be ready and willing to create a new and better you whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Be a more caring and compassionate individual. Help those who are in need. Listen to people who are lonely, afraid, oppressed, sick, have lost a loved one, and need a caring person to talk to. Be a go-to person for people.

Take some chances in life. Remember the old saying: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Look to the Bible for examples of what you can achieve even when all the odds are against you. Love God, family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. Some strangers are angels among us, trying to teach or lead us in the right direction.

Remember, God is always next to you, even when you think you are all alone. Be one of God’s excellent shepherds today and always, and never leave the flock alone to care for themselves.

Attitude Adjustment

Attitude Adjustment

Proverbs   19 – 19

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

1 Peter 4: 12 – 14

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you :

But rejoice, since ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory will be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye, for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part, he is evil spoken of, but on your part, he is glorified.

Some people need an attitude adjustment when they talk about sick people. I have heard people say that the person got the kind of illness he deserved in life. Christ suffered greatly for our sins and did not deserve the punishment he was dealt with. God does not punish his loved ones with horrible diseases. It is just part of nature that, eventually, we get illnesses and conditions that will kill us.

I cannot stand it when people are rude to people dying from a horrible illness. The person with the disease is a beautiful, kind, caring, and compassionate human being. People try to categorize people into neat little packages they think they know how to unwrap and what makes that person the way they are.

Those of you without sin, let you cast the first stone, and as you already know, no one is without sin. Diseases and illnesses come to us in all of our life’s stages. We did not ask for the condition or condition to stand out in the crowd. We wanted to blend in with the group just as we did when we were teenagers.

Do not judge or make fun of ill or sick people. You will be there yourself someday, probably much sooner than you ever imagined possible. Show the love of God to the sick and ill so they can find peace in this world before they pass on.

Resilient

Resilient

You have to be resilient to succeed in this World. It would be best not to let people’s words or actions dwell inside you. Keep moving your life along in a positive direction. Be active in life, and belong to groups that lift and motivate you to get the most out of your life.

Do things that will help others and help you become more resilient. By helping other people with their problems, your problems become less significant. Stay spiritually connected to God as he helps us every day of our lives on Earth. Don’t worry about insignificant minor issues; you can solve them with time and thinking.

Bounce back from adversity as soon as possible before it constantly follows you around and consumes you. Tell yourself you can do it even if you think you cannot do it. A positive frame of mind can produce much, was a negative frame of mind accomplishes nothing.

Always put your best effort into everything that you do. By giving your best, you will receive a great gift of accomplishment. Take pride in your work and put your heart and soul into your career; others will admire your work for years to come.

God wants us to be resilient. Jesus died for our sins so that we may live again in heaven. Live your life on Earth as how you would live your life in heaven. Always have a good, kind, caring, and compassionate personality that others can see in you every day.

Help others when help is needed and help them feel resilient from the storms in their life. Go to church on the  Sabbath day to praise God for helping you be more resilient.

Dependable

Dependable

Are you dependable? Are you there when your friends or family need you? I hope you answered yes to these two questions. Dependability is a large part of life that affects many people besides yourself.

What would you do if you went to an emergency room and everyone had called in sick for the day? You would be in dire shape or die before the day was over. It would be best if you were accountable to yourself and others. Accountability starts with you, and your actions speak volumes about you.

If you are not dependable on a job, you will get fired, and your chances of finding another good job will be slim to none. You cannot show up at an appointment whenever you feel like it. Restaurants need servers, cooks, etc., to run a restaurant successfully, and people will want to return to them shortly. If everyone just worked on the days they felt like working, our economy would go into a tailspin. Dependable people must keep things moving and flowing in the business world and life in general.

When I go to a store they are supposed to be open at 8 AM, they better be available, or I will never return to that store again. I don’t like waiting for people as they steal precious hours from my life. Life is too short to wait for someone who is never on time or dependable. There is no excuse for being late unless an unforeseen circumstance arises.

Dependability is not what it used to be. It would be best if you treated other people like you want to be treated. I am sure you do not like to wait for people, so why should people wait for you? Have respect and accountability for your actions and if you are late for unforeseen circumstances, apologize and explain what made you late.

Be dependable and accountable to God, your boss, family, and friends, as this will take you far.

Happiness

Happiness

What makes you happy in life? I love to travel and learn something new every day. I love to visit with people in Rest Homes. I love their stories from the past. I find their lives and experiences very educational and informative. I love how their faces light up when you visit with them and bring a little sunshine into their lives.

20151210_180007

I love taking care of my pets and tending to their needs. My pets make me very happy. I love watching them play with toys, and I love watching them sleep comfortably and efficiently. A pet purring or sleeping on my bed at night makes me very happy. Pets love you just how you are; you do not have to try to impress them.

20170716_210308

I am happy to read a history book in my hammock and listen to the birds gently singing in the trees. One of my pets lays under the hammock while I read, and she keeps me company while I read. I love working outdoors, mowing the lawn, gardening, weed-whacking, and much more.

People with the same interest you do are lovely to be around, bringing great happiness into your life. Wonderful friends are necessary to have great pleasure in your life. A strong connection with God is absolute to a powerful delight with life in this World.

Wesley Church

You cannot get happiness from wealth or material possessions. The things in nature are the things that will give you the most joy down the road in life. People, animals, plants, mountains, and items made by the hand of God are the key to happiness today and every day in your life. God bless you with joy in all you do for others, for you will be rewarded greatly and in many ways.

Home Memories

Home Memories

Leviticus 27: 14

And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the Lord, the priest shall estimate it, whether good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand.

Proverbs 24 : 3 – 4

Through wisdom is a house built, and by understanding, it is established,

And the chambers shall be filled with all precious and pleasant riches by knowledge.

The old saying says home is where the heart is. My home sanctify’s me as I love every nook and cranny in my house. I have so many pleasant memories in my place. My Grandparents built the place I have lived in almost my entire life. I have lived on my building site my whole life. I love walking around the yard, gardening, lawn mowing, and much more. I used to follow my Grandfather around the farm, and later on, I followed my Father around the farm and learned how to repair many items by observing my Father at work.

20170726_202712

I have fond memories of eating breakfast and having coffee with my Grandparents. My Grandfather kept wintergreen mints in the cupboard and always gave me one to eat when I visited. I had a toy box at my grandparents’ house and still have the plastic doll I used to play with. I would generally eat Cheerios for breakfast at Grandpa and Grandma’s house.

I remember the Christmas dinners that we used to have and all of the wonderful family gatherings that we used to have at our home. A home is a place of a happy, wonderful life and long-lasting memories. A house has laughter, love, joy, peace, and hope from all the people who have enriched your life by coming into your home and sharing their life with you.

Home is where you have family time and talk about the day’s activities at the end of the day. You have love and concern for each other’s needs. You make each other smile in a happy home, and all that enter your home are glad they came. Peace and happiness may fill your home for all of your days.

Life Is About Serving People And Lifting Them Up

Life Is About Serving People And Lifting Them Up

Visit people often and help them and put a smile on their faces. Hold doors open for people and lavish them with a firm handshake. Giving people a gift they were not expecting is so rewarding.

Do something special for your friends. Call up your friend and invite them on the spur of the moment to go for a drive or out to eat. You will make your friend happy, and you will be satisfied, also. Spend quality time with your friends, and don’t miss any time together.

Wesley Church

I love visiting with people in the rest home or assisted living. The people I see enrich my soul with beautiful lessons on what life is all about. We can learn a lot from our elders and other people we visit; we all have our ups and downs in life. How we handle them makes all the difference in the World and how our life turns out.

Do not dwell or live in the past; you can not change its outcome. Make new and fond memories in others’ lives and your own. Look at things in perspective and never lose your focus on what is truly important in life. We should serve God, the community, family, friends, and strangers. A friend in need is a friend indeed, as the old saying goes.

upper range light

An illness in my life was a blessing in disguise. It has made me a more outgoing and caring person. I have become a lay minister in my church. I see things differently than I used to. I enjoy visiting with people and having them tell me their life stories. There is always someone in worse shape than you, no matter your illness or situation.

My goal is to help brighten or enrich people’s lives and put a smile on someone’s face every day. I wanted to be kind, compassionate, caring,g and an excellent listener, learn something new daily, and share my knowledge with others.

2014-10-12-09-13-37

God bless you every day, and never forget that you can become a better and more outstanding you that will make God and your family proud of the person you are today.
