An upset digestive system can cause diarrhea, especially in younger cats. Take their food away for one to two days to see if their diarrhea disappears. Never take away their water because they need water to replace fluids lost by having diarrhea. Diarrhea causes one to become dehydrated quickly. Put out fresh water for your cat every day. A dry cat can die.
Changing brands of cat food can cause diarrhea. Overeating foods can cause diarrhea. A cat that eats raw or rotten meat can get diarrhea. Too much milk in your cat’s diet can cause diarrhea.
A relocated cat can get diarrhea from the stress of being relocated. Worms can cause severe diarrhea in cats.
Feeding your cat white rice with a bit of butter can help relieve your cat’s diarrhea. Canned pumpkin also will help your cat with getting over diarrhea. Your vet sells exceptional canned, dry cat food formulated especially for cats with diarrhea. I have fed my cat canned food for diarrhea, which helped considerably. Your vet also sells pills that will help relieve your cat’s diarrhea. I gave these pills to my cats, which were entirely cured in five days.
The only times my cats have gotten diarrhea is either from worms or being relocated.
I try to keep all of my cats wormed regularly. Do not change foods suddenly, as this can cause digestive issues.
If your cat seems lazy and is not improving, bring him to your vet ASAP.
I hope your cat never develops any digestive issues.
