I have had several house cats that like to watch TV and listen to soft-playing music.
My cat Garfunkel likes to watch TV programs with other animals to watch. He especially likes to watch birds or smaller-sized animals. He has also managed a few soap operas. Garfunkel lays at the bottom of my recliner, completely relaxed, watching his programs on TV. Just the other day, he watched auto racing on TV.
Sugar, a Siamese cat I once had, would bat at birds she saw on the TV screen. She also liked to listen to classical music.
Conrad just started watching TV. He seems to like the cooking programs. He is probably hoping I will buy a big salmon and cook it up for him. He also likes to watch the women actresses on Law and Order.
If you have a cat that is excited or nervous, playing soft music will calm him. I gave my neighbors a new kitten years ago, and they played soft music all day long for him. The music helped him get relaxed in his new surroundings.
You can buy DVDs that are specially made for cats. They are designed to entertain your cat while you are away or doing housework. Some DVDs have fish swimming or birds to watch, etc.
I mainly play classical music for my cats. If you play your radio, make sure it is a station with soft-sounding music. Cats are scared by loud noises.
Many fun computer apps can entertain your cat. They can bat away at insects, birds, etc., that they look at on your I pad. They can entertain themselves with these beautiful apps designed for cats.
I hope you and your cat are happy and healthy.

Who would have thought – apps for cats! Interesting post Laura!
Great post! I guess I never thought about all the different forms of entertainment that are now available for cats and their owners.
