Work
What do you think about when you work? Do you stay focused on your work or let your mind drift? If you let your mind drift to other things, your work will suffer, and you will be wasting valuable time throughout your day. I have seen people at different businesses ordering something online when they are supposed to be working. I don’t know about you, but when I am paying someone, I want them focused on the job they are doing for me. I do not want to be paying people for a break so they can smoke, as I have now paid them to smoke instead of work they are supposed to be doing for me. I wouldn’t say I like it when workers come to a job without the materials needed to complete the task. I complained to the owner and said I would not be paying labor for them going back to the shop for the supplies they should have had on their repair truck in the first place. Come prepared to work at your job and do the best possible; never do a job with as little work as possible, for it will catch up with you eventually, and no one will hire you. Word of mouth travels quicker than lightning sometimes. Your craft or trade will make or break you, depending on your work ethic.
Distracted From Worship
Is watching a sports team play on TV more important than worshiping God? I hope you would say that worshipping God is more important than a sports game because it is much more important, for you are nothing without God. I have heard people say that they want to rest at home on Sunday or party. You can relax after church; your party could be on Friday night. God is always there for you 24/7, so you can be at church or watch a sermon online for one or two hours to thank God for the many blessings he has given you. Church is about fellowship, praise, faith, hope, peace, love, joy, renewing your covenant with God, singing praises, learning from the sermon, and applying that to your daily living. Never get distracted from praising God; the devil wants you to do that. Let God be your lighthouse and compass daily; you will never get lost.
Sickness
Never focus on your illness or sickness, as it will try to put you in a dark hole. Focus on the good things in your life and the things you still can do, not those you cannot do anymore. Life will have many ups and downs; it is all about how you rise in the down times. Sickness can strengthen your relationship with God and others and lead you on a new path to help you and others. All of us will get sick as that is just part of nature. We are born, and every day after we are born, we die a little bit every day. Live your days with hope, peace, and joy, and know that God loves you immensely and wants only the best for you.
