Cats are much more intelligent than we give them credit for. Several cats have saved their owner’s life. Cats have awakened the house’s owner to make them aware of a fire. One Tom cat kept going to the door of his house and wanted his mistress to let him outdoors. Finally, she opened the door and let him out. Once outside, he went to the gas meter and wrinkled his nose. She called the gas company, and they told her her cat had saved her life. They told her her house would have blown up in about an hour.
One of my outdoor cats kept staring at my house one night. The following day I knew why she had been staring at my home. The cord to her heated cat bed and water bowl had quit working. I installed a new line for her that morning.
One cat kept lying by his owner’s head and kneading away in the same spot on her head day after day. She had been having headaches but was not very concerned. Her cat started kneading her head more regularly, and her headaches worsened. She went to her Doctor, who ran many tests, and she discovered she had brain cancer. Somehow her cat seemed to know that she had cancer, and he was trying to let her know the only way he could.
One cat in a nursing home would lie down next to the residents. There always seemed to die within a week of him lying down next to them. He was probably trying to comfort them before they passed on.
Cats are very astute to changes in the weather. My friend had a cat that hid under her couch just as the tornado siren sounded. Her cat came out from under her couch when the all-clear alert came on her TV.
I know I will pay special attention to whatever my cats are trying to tell me in their unique way.
