Amazing Grace and What Grace Means

Acts 14:22

Thus he builds our character, strengthens our faith, and prepares us to help others.

Timothy 6: 11 – 21

Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, humility – fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life I give thee charge in the sight of God, keep the commandments – be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate. Grace be with thee.

Ephesians 2: 1 – 10

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ [ by Grace we are saved; ] For by Grace are ye saved through faith: and not of ourselves: it is the gift of God,  For we are his artistry created in Jesus Christ unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace, and he became a converted slave trader and set all his slaves free—some highlights from the song Amazing Grace – how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear, and Grace, my fears, relieved the hour I first believed. I was blind, but now I see. Grace has bought me safe – Grace will lead me home.

God’s Grace is universal and available to all persons. Living by Grace orients life around God’s gift of salvation. Grace is one as the tribune God is one.

Grace in the Methodist tradition is manifested in three actions:

Prevenient Grace – means divine love that surrounds all humanity, and God’s presence and power reside throughout all creation.

Justifying Grace –  is another word for pardon. It is the forgiveness of our sins and our acceptance of God.

Glorifying Grace – The gospel of Christ knows of no religion but social, no holiness but social holiness. God’s Glorifying Grace will complete God’s final reign of righteousness: God’s power over evil and death.

Grace leads us to do amazing and incredible things with God helping us. Grace means helping people in need, working well, having patience, faith, and being genuine and kind to others. Show your love to others and let them know how much you appreciate them being a part of your life. Be slow to anger and quick to forgive. May the Grace of God be with you today and every day of your life.
